Do I need to watch Hidden Love first? Is it better if I do so?
No, you don't have to watch HL first. The tone is different. This one is darker with a more mature FL and some underlying unpleasant topics. I would still recommend HL after you finish this or watch at tandem if you have extra time.

Just pushed myself to finish. Chen Zhe Yuan does a great job in here. He's a totally different person from all his previous roles.

That aside, I wished the drama had ended at the halfway or 3/4 way point. Yes, I understand why it ended the way it did.

Had it not been Chen Zhe Yuan, I would not have watched this drama.
