No. Transparency comes when actors, makeup artists, gaffers, PDs, baristas, photographers' assistants, etc. etc. no longer have to feel suffocated in an environment where everyone has to behave just so lest the wrath of the gods strike them down. When they can speak & comport themselves honestly without fears of reprisals. When fans and viewers can watch a drama without worrying if their idol is a secret witch, and read an article without fear that the reporter is in cahoots with the chaebol executive while perpetrating perfidy & bearing false witness against their prey.

Yep. Lies are everywhere and they will continue. But someday everyone will become telepathic and no one will be able to get away with lying anymore.

I know this because I am the writer of this IRL makjang drama and what I say manifests into reality (🤞🏼). Some call me the White Truck of Doom. Others just call me The Writer. I hear whispers referring to me as "that angel-in-heaven Kim Sae Ron's handpicked champion-knight from the sidelines". My friends just call me sogsag-im.

When the #1 actor/spokesmodel-brand-representative/studio owner gets defenestrated & exposed for deplorable behavior, and receives his comeuppance in a manner reminiscent of a makjang drama, people notice.

And if that leads to change for the better—e.g, less grooming and fewer stars & chaebols pushing their weight around and living above the law because finally there is so much more transparency all around—then we can call it justice.

And maybe Sae Ron, up above, will be pleased.

I've been trying to untangle this all day. And I'm still not certain and I'm tired so I'll mix metaphors: I'm still trying to piece it all together.

I agree with you about the first one. The warning to 'not do anything that would harm his reputation, otherwise, she would be facing damages lawsuit' was in reference to a bluff about threats of penalties related to QOT being affected by her act of uploading that couple's photo (before quickly deleting it.) They were pressing on her to not ever do that again.

BTW, I was on MDL in the QOT forum here when that show first broadcast and remember when that happened. I didn't recognize KSR though and didn't pay it much attention.

I also believe that what you say about the second one is true but I'm thinking it's also ambiguous. I could be wrong. And once the letters were published for all to see this week I read somewhere that this was GM's cover-our-ass play for legal reasons after worrying about what they had put in the 1st letter. #2 was like a do-over. I read about how the second one is different in tone from the first. About GM's recent statements suggesting that the letters were only formalities for tax purposes. And the fact the debt was resolved exactly a week after the 2nd letter seems to support this.

But also—back then—KSR was perceptibly operating from a perspective of fear & despair. And the ghosting thing did happen, and KSH did give her cousin's phone number (which she had used to contact him) to reporters. Who hurt her bad.

So anyway, I'm still not certain. And I'm especially sorry to add confusion when I'm really just trying to decipher the ambiguities and help spread truths.

About (3) & (4): The 2nd certified letter has a different tone than the 1st which was very threatening about her "debt" & more. The second one seems intended to legally retract the first (she owed nothing) while maintaining her confusion and keep her intimidated. Then they ghosted her when she called every line asking for clarification. Then she used somebody else's phone and got through to KSH, pleaded for help, but he didn't help or clarify anything or resolve her worries. Instead he gave that number to the hungry wolves (media press) who proceeded to hound & harass her mercilessly. That happened.

And he's not just losing sponsors—he's suffering penalties at a rate of 3X what they paid him!

LJH = media reporter who harrassed KSR previously—we just found out he lied about & defamed her, causing much distress & maybe even contributing to her suicide. He just apologized for it the other day. And her family is now serving him with a lawsuit.

Then yesterday he resumed reporting about her again. He uploaded a photo of her & a mystery man. He included the allegations you referred to about a secret marriage.

Today LJH uploaded anaudio file from the day KSR killed herself (on KSH's 37th birthday). It was a discussion about her by a manager at her agency and a friend. The topics were her secret marriage, domestic abuse by her newlywed husband, and her subsequent abortion.

Either what LJH is reporting is true and he is getting the story right this time, or it is false and he was doing business-as-usual and trying to help someone get ahead of this story, get himself out of trouble, and earn a fat payday at the same time.

I'm still holding out that he's the mystery baby daddy. They broke up but he kept coming to her for sex. She was always confused about the state of their relationship and the keeping it secret thing.

If this is IRL Makjang then they must be laying out rope for KSH to hang himself, so to speak. Oh God, if that really happens then who am I, the writer? I like the metaphor, but I’d rather that he literally not hang himself. Don't do it, Soohyuni. I hope you live a very long life! May you receive everything you deserve!
