Title Encounter
I just realized tht it must be a bit awkward since bogum and song joong ki are friends but (business relations aside and all) pbg and song hye kyo are a couple in this drama. Imagine having to do kiss scenes with your friend's wife sjdj T

I just realized Song Jae Jung the screenwriter also wrote 'Queen in Hyun's Man' and 'W'. I should have known,…
yea Queen In Hyun's man is definitely a classic. I liked W bc of the modern touch and webcomic theme. I cant bear to chochoose btwn them tho

Title Memories of the Alhambra Spoiler
I hate to say it: but I agree. :(She used to write in collaboration with her then husband. Their greatest work…
wow i didnt realize it was the same writer, but I feel like plot holes.. well, every story has them here and there. I like the overall theme of her works with the world building like u said. I find it very innovative. But yea if i think abt it more the female lead was more of an emotional support character for jin woo. There was some character development seen when she moved to seoul but honestly i didnt EXPECT her to start playing the game/leveling up to help him in-game bc i could guess thats not what her role was gonna be for

omg yesss, i always felt that her role in the love knot was the best in her career so far and i'm hoping to see…
this goes off an a bit of a tangent but i also wondered why all her fantasy dramas had to be the ones with such bad cgi -_-||
I couldn't stand to watch those lolol

People who rated this drama so highly or said it is the best are MAD.I really tried hard to like it as I like…
im gonna try and overlook all the bad cgi and everything else due to the fact this was made in 2015... i think China only developed good cgi by 2017 lmao

Title The Legend of Dugu Spoiler
I was a bit confused with the ending. Why did Li Chen, son of Man tou became the successor of Yang Jian. As far…
i think you should hide your comment under spoiler tag.. but i guess it doesn't matter since it kinda follows history.

first, mantuo's son's name is li yuan not li chen. Li chen was the heir apparent of duke of tang tht mantuo killed. and Li Yuan didn't become emperor right after yang jian died. After yang jian (sui emperor) dies then the crown was passed to his second son yang guang (the first son was frivolous and got his crown prince title taken hah).

At the end of the drama Mantuo tells Li yuan tht yang jian became emperor at age 40, so he too can become the emperor when hes older if hes patient. Sui dynasty is quite short lived (consists of only yang jian and his son) and Li yuan rebels against Sui dynasty, becomes emperor, and starts the Tang dynasty.

It was confusing to understand the timeline bc it was referring to the chinese calendar but the drama probably wanted to summarize how everyone related to the Dugu sisters eventually had the chance to sit on the throne, ending with mantuo's son.

As for who is Li yuan's father, im pretty sure in the drama they followed history and his father was rlly the duke of tang (mantuos husband). And i think u got yang yong and yang guang mixed up bc at the end of the drama yang guang looked around the same age as li yuan to me. plus it didnt even show yang yong at the end lol.

anyways hope u understood most of tht bc the world of Dugu was really so intricate and confusing, but thats what makes it fascinating :)

Ok once you compared it to Ten Miles Of Peach Blossoms I know I have to watch it
yea i can see that too, since ten miles of peach blossoms was a lot more focused on the main couple. ashes of love just had a bit too much going on lol

just my thoughts but..
i thought i would never find a better xianxia drama than tmopb but i felt like ashes of love had more going on with so many different backstories so I was more captivated by the drama and its intricacy. As for tmopb, I liked the concept of the setting and how they portrayed the xianxia genre i guess. Well, they each had smth I could appreciate.

I guess I'm the odd duck because I love longer dramas, especially if they're Chinese Historicals. I don't know…
yess, chinese historical dramas are also my fave. I also skip dull parts, which makes it go a lot faster. But we're still getting the general idea of what happened right? lol. And I agree abt the rewatching thing, I once even talked to my friend abt ongoing dramas and she said she likes them bc she can appreciate it more, but I cant handle waiting or watching multiple dramas at once so ehh.

lmao i'm ONLY a binge watcher in that I don't even bother starting ongoing dramas bc I hate waiting and I like to watch as many dramas as I can and move on to the next drama. But sometimes after I finish watching a 60 episode chinese drama in about a week's time and I think back on it (if it was a very good drama) I get sad bc it went by too fast and I miss the characters alreadyyy

my goodness, i'm super picky when it comes to xianxia dramas but this was BEYOND my expectations! The CGI was extraordinary and didn't make the drama cringy to watch (a main reason I don't watch most older xianxia dramas), the cast nailed the acting, and the way the plot unfolds is amazing. I was regretting not having started watching it earlier.

On The Legend of White Snake Jan 7, 2019
Based on the trailer, I think that Jing Yi really suits the role of a beautiful white snake spirit. And I'm not used to seeing Alan yu as the main lead, so I'm excited to see him in this.

:) she’s the rebel/spy/love-interest/damsel-in-distress on whom the movie’s unnecessarily convoluted plot…
ohh, thank you!
