Now that this drama is out I can finally motivate myself to read the novel which I have been putting of bc the last MBFB novel I read almost put me to sleep and kinda put me off on reading more of her novels.. TT

I've heard such good things about this though so I hope I'll like the novel and drama equally as I did with Go Go Squid!

honestly I agree. I am a bad romantic tho so I'm glad the novel ended on a more 'amiable' note but it's true he really didn't deserve her or repent enough for what he did to her. I kind of wanted the drama to portray what Ji Man went through in the novel though bc like @BearFightingFanBackAgain said I loved the novel for showing how strong Ji Man was depite all the sht that happened to her (and I suppose from a historical standpoint she won bc she got the man and kept her position as the main wife. or she could've ditched him and left the dream LOL)

But this drama version is definitely better for viewership and I've only seen clips so far but it looks promising!

Wow, I read the novel for this and its one of my favorite novels but the drama looks completely different. I liked the melodramatic undertone of the novel but I guess it would not be very popular for tv viewership following the current trends since the ML was a huge scumbag lol.

I'll definitely be watching this for PXR and Ryan though haha

Tbh I couldn't really see Dylan as Shi Yan since I read the novel and was expecting someone a bit older/more mature looking (like lowkey wei zhe ming reminds me more of Shi Yan), but I'm sure he will do a good job and make the character his own.
And I'm glad to see they kept Shi Yan's glasses in the drama haha

Also I see everyone cursing MangoTv LOL. I suggest reading the webnovel if you want to watch this drama when it airs, might help with comprehending the scenes at least. I personally really liked the novel (it even made me cry but i also get emotional easily for fictional stories oop).

same, I will miss jung so min but I was very interested in go yoon jung's portrayal of naksu depsite the short screentime

I usually like cliches but this drama was too much. They stuffed every single possible plot device into the script and overdid it. The only reason I finished was because I was just that bored and started having fun laughing at how unbelievably cringy the entire show was.

Nope, the ML doesn't have any feelings for her until she's in college. In fact, he nearly takes her as a biological sister. It's lowkey like reverse pedophilia bc the FL likes him since 8th grade lmaoo

Good point, they didn't do a great job describing it like that. I am pretty sure the woman they are referring to is Cheon Gi (because it showed her silhouette during the voice over). If it is her, it's probably describing what happens at the end of the drama (she paints the king's drawing which is the sacred vessel used to seal the demon).
