Halfway through and based on the previews, it doesn't look like we're anywhere near Qingzhou.
Should lower any expectations of FXY's generals having important roles now since the new sched looks like the war is only happening in the last few eps. I guess gotta be ready for a rushed ending too.

But I guess with everything going on, this drama airing completely is good enough.

I didn't enjoy the other cp moments like I usually do because they are making her just his love interest lately. And her poor sect is suddenly rich now confused me..

Yeah, but that doesn't mean HCR won't be interested in him anymore. And I guess we won't see that scene where HFX leaves the selection because he realized HCR ain't BFX.

And Yongzhou arc is getting predictable now.

Everytime ml is in a difficult position I'd be like, nah its acting, he already planned it, complete with flashbacks and evidence ready.
Even the coat didn't make me nervous anymore. I was sure its either fountain abode people or 2fl will sort it out. And she did.

Same with the king and 2nd queen. He'll know the mastermind of whatever scheme, then scold her for a bit, but after her sobbing time everything is fine again.

17/40 Finally, HCR. It's late but her relationship with her father is on point from the novel which was nice to see.

But it felt like nothing really happened that I'm covering 2 eps in one post. Actually, the 2nd week felt like this. All I remember is ml can let go of everything except fl. And fl willing to risk her life for ml. That's it.

Other than the poster (of photos we've already seen) its really radio silence for the past 3 days.
Anyways, the previous bts were nice, but the reuters is still winning.

That could be the main reason. HFX also threatened him not to get involved with BFX because of his short lifespan. So its like hitting two birds with one stone.

Not to mention, having all the techniques of all sects would make him the most powerful, he can rule the world.

He can have feelings for BFX while still able to kill her for ambition. In the novel both HFX and HC liked BFX yet still pursued HCR.

Or simply red herring.

I liked them too, HC looked cool.

I'm thinking since he's cursed there's only two path for him, either be good or turn evil. He was a saint in the novel, but since ml is the nice one here, then he's the bad guy with the cunning, calculative traits that was originally mls. Which still makes sense, and actually interesting.

And I usually find those moments cute but not atm, what they did to fl is still fresh.

Not surprised at all by YWY. I mean, I still went, oh what did they do to you.. but I've had a feeling they would give the other interesting characteristics of ml to someone else since they made him just nice and flawless here.
And no one else is powerful enough that 2ml and ml himself couldn't defeat other than YWY.

16/40 After this ep. I'm sure the leads ain't falling for anyone else other than each other.

I like that this ep. has more action in jianghu.

Its because people seem to see him as a villain, even novel readers, just because he isn't on the same side as the leads.

I know its for the romance, but can't they make romantic scenes without making her a damsel.. It would've been okay if she did something, anything. But she didn't even try.
Maybe thats why I didn't enjoy their moment after much as I usually does.

Hah! ml got exposed by FC. Why the shock pikachu face with how FC treats him when he was pretty chill back when FC was legit going mad thinking he was dead.

The 2ml chosing XXK instead of succeeding somehow makes YYZ's "death" easier. HC x YWY was my ship in the novel, but maybe it'll change to HC x XXK here. lol

On the other hand, did fl really just stood there..
like literally just stood there during the quake waiting for the mountain to bury her..

1st GY, now the minister. Is this 'suicide in prison' gonna be a thing in Yongzhou..? Because if I'm gonna sit through all the politics and schemings then I want a satisfying punishment esp. in the end.

15/40 HC is the closest to his novel counterpart. I'm really liking him so far. And the actor playing him helps too.

15 eps in and Hei Feng Bai Xi still sounds weird to me. I've just gotten used to Bai Feng Hei Xi that it sounds better both in my head and ears.

Yes, the drama cut her loveline with the other 5 guys except for ml.
And important scenes were also given to ml, like the cliff saving scene in ep.1. that was originally YYZ.

She and 2ml did flirt a bit but not sure if that was it or we'll see more of them like in the novel. Because they altered the timeline here sa well.

We wont. So no need to make excuses for 2fl to convince me. I watched the drama from start to finish, I know her and the things she did.

BFX and YYZ's time together was always meant to be short.

You didn't seem to understand, I meant that fl and ml were already on opposite sides that time so nothing wrong with fl teaming up with 2ml who was willing to help her and kunwus. While 2fl was on the same side as ml the whole time she was pretending to help him when she already knew about his mother. Basically deceived him.

I'd rather have a clear enemy than be fooled and used by someome I thought was a friend.

Every step 2fl does is calculated, she helped ml because she can gain something from it. She certainly didn't help him before in earlier eps, while 2ml has always been consistent with fl.

What 'independent' 'strong' 'plan'? Did you consider that fl is alone, while 2fl has power, people and resources. Ofc fl can only rely on a fellow minority.

And ml is the designated hero of the humans, so its understandable why fl didn't confide with the person allowing the suffering of her people. Even when they were already at the village seeing kunwus suffering with his own eyes he was still hesistant. Because for him humans can do no wrong.

Why compare roles of ml with 2ml..? You said you're a XK fan, so not new to dramaland tropes, thats just how it is. The mls are always the poor/orphan hero/chosen one destined to conquer/save the world. While 2mls are the rich/well loved ones that are nice/caring but never gets the girl.

Also, the stone being returned to 2ml because it was his/clan in the first place. He only shared it to fl to help her/clan He wouldn't be dying if it wasn't for her. Consistent till the end.

Anyways, we have different moral compasses and characters that we liked. The Sha siblings were mine and I'm good with their endings.
