That would've been fine if he actually talks to FC when they have a sit down. Obviously doesn't need to be detailed, but enough to assure just like how FC is to him. But nope, he just give gifts, FC makes all the effort.
His behavior can be easily misinterpreted. But I guess that's needed for the plot.

FC is pitiful. I understand ml not telling he is HFX, but not informing FC that he ain't dead even after knowing FC wasn't the one that betrayed him and most importantly could be blamed/framed for it doesn't sit well with me. It won't be a surprise if they eventually grow further apart than they already are. FJ is a great help to that too.

The drawing scene where BFX changed her posture from carefree to ladylike is supposed to remind that she is a "woman" since HFX doesn't call her that unlike in the novel.

Even "the BFX" can't escape the "fl has to hurt her foot so ml can carry her" trope. She wasn't 'that' hurt like Haodu had to carry Leyan, but HFX saw an opportunity, insisted and succeeded. lol It gave us a piggyback ride.
But HFX running away with BFX after seeing FQW is kinda sus. Hopefully its just to protect BFX's identity.

9/40 The step mother queen is here. This actress seems good. Her character hasn't done anything yet but she's already unlikable. lol

Sure, but I can't just say the line without context because its important on why it managed to move me. So spoilers!



For context:
- The fl just suffered a great loss because of ml's hesitation.
- That great loss is her 2 beloved generals.
- JR, one of the 2, died giving his all to protect her.
- She had actually considered killing ml for that when he came to her.
- She'd almost gone mad when the maid washed the bloody clothes she was wearing that time. She took it back with her, blood and all.
- Then she went to the tent where the 2 coffins were and cried her heart out.

When the remaining generals came in she told them to say goodbye to the 2.
After that, she told them (iirc)
"In the future, when you are sure you cannot win, retreat! escape!"
Her anger, her pain, her fear.
The generals were shocked.
She knew they were brave, have never considered backing out and are more than willing to fight and die for her. She continued with the line,
"Because only when you are still alive, that I can find you and save you!"
The anger for ml, the pain of lossing the 2 esp. JR, and the fear of lossing more, even just one more.
"In my heart, you are more important than the country!"

Note that at this point in time she was already alone, all family are dead, and the only ones close to her are her beloved generals (and some ministers) who went to journey/battle with her.
She then proceeded to assign guards to each remaining generals.

My reply is long and plain, but the novel described well how broken she was after that loss. As a king, she shouldn't have said those words. Even she herself admitted she is not qualified. So that was really what she felt in her heart.
Yet immediately after that she had to pick herself up and get her sh*t together not just as king of Qing but also commander of Fengyun army because the war was still not over.

So yeah, the 2nd line is my fave but all 3 from that scene moved me. The only one in the entire novel to do so.

That was different. HFX was explaining who he called in his sleep as he didn't want BFX to misunderstand.

HFX was worked up seeing YWY with a hairpin. Discouraging him from giving it to BFX. Same as the novel.
The maid already got suspicious when she saw the receipt.
And FQW also got involved when it wasn't her business.

My point is whether giving or putting, the object alone can cause misinterpretations/misunderstandings.

Still, it would've been better to have rewarded her with a different object that won't be misinterpreted. As we can see it wasn't just one maid that tried putting meaning to it.

Maybe it will still happen, but will not be caused by ml since he's nice here, so far.
I saw a reuter, but not sure if its that scene.

Maybe they will become "us against the world" team. So if it does happen, its caused by another character.

And her generals. Because while the other armies were loyal to their leaders out of obligation, fear or greed, hers were loyal because she was genuinely admired and loved. And she love them back just as much, hence the pain.

That's what I fear, making her less than her original character. But I'm still hoping its just a room for character development.

And I'm also looking forward for her to act those angsty scenes. Her and her generals had my heart.

Yeah I've adjusted my expectations to separate the story and the romance sides.

Her going back home was in the trailer, so lets see how that will turn out. Hopefully it will be balanced, and not switching the Qingzhou and Yongzhou arcs parts.

That was also what made him interesting in the novel. He had so many layers that only she knows. Yet at the same time she still has to figure him and his plans out. The ambiguity between them even when they already entered marriage alliance made for some good angst, and yearning at the same time.

I don't know if those are still gonna happen in the drama. I mean, even JR isn't her general. And will the rest even exist.. Unless that loss will be played by another character.

I'm still hoping someway, somehow that loss will happen as it was an important part of her. It showed how truly strong she is not just physically but mentally and emotionally. The anger, the pain, the fear. The words she told the remaining ones were my favorite. The only line in the entire novel that actually moved me.

Same. I prefer the first dress too, even the red entertainer dress was better. heheh

Yeah I guess that makes sense with 2fl, but I also wouldn't be surprise since she gives me that vibe that will do anything to achieve her goals.

Oh.. so I'm assuming ml is still not talking to FC in the latest ep. Hmm...

The ml giving fl a hairpin and personally putting it on her was supposed to be romantic, until I remembered he also gave his maid the same thing earlier. That gesture means something in the culture hence the maid being happy. Hmm..

But I love that the noodle scene was given to fl instead of 2fl. Its fair since the cliff scene earlier was given to ml instead of YYZ.
The ml also clearing out about the maid real quick. And most importantly voluntarily telling fl about his family situation hopefully means he won't be too ambiguous to her later on when their marriage alliance and the war starts.

Maybe I can have expectations of the ml now. That he won't feel anything or even consider anyone else that isn't fl. Since that was the only time in the novel that he was moved because of his mother.

8/40 The drama really has more romance with having more moments and skinship than in the novel where its was pretty much non-existent until the end. I'm quite enjoying it.

Just feign ignorance like Xi'er. lol

He missed her so much he went to her event to see her and gave her plushie and flowers. How cute is that~

Timezone is indeed a factor, but to those same as cst, how were they functioning the next day..? My old ass could never. lol So might as well take my time watching.

Ikr! And HP's reaction to all that esp. after seeing their cute interactions together. Plus knowing the actor actually also adores her irl. It would've nice to see more scenes of them since she was in her natural state with him. lol

I've been waiting long for it so I like to enjoy every ep. That or I'm same with Xi'er that values food and sleep too much (when the first 8 eps dropped). lol

The ml walking out when she told him she invited out 3ml was kinda cute. But the line he said to 3ml after finding out he agreed to go with her was a low blow. I understand the jealousy, but still, if one knows the reason..

The fl saying she dislikes being second to anyone specifically to ml, 2ml and 3ml, seems like the drama's version of novel-Xi'er wanting to be a man's only one, not one of the many. Afterall it was the reason she turned down one of them because he can only promise her to be his #1, not his only one.

I love the moment between 2fl and 3ml. Even though the love line is not as prominent as in the novel. She really cut him off and said she won't do anything to him. lol Their entire scene together was beautiful. His entire presence and aura is calming and pleasing. And it was good to see her just having fun. My fave part of the ep.

7/40 BFX making a move on YWY but getting blocked by HFX. lol Even bribing her with food, her favorite thing, but she just thought he was being considerate and still continued with YWY. She really is oblivious.
And YWY looking everywhere but at them. lol
