The ml's entire family and people are everywhere. I did expect that. I hope to see Xi-er's family too, her generals.

I can usually tolerate supporting characters, but fls are my deal breaker.

Iirc they're not married or engage, but they did meet during young age hence the 10 years of knowing each other. Xi'er only entered marriage alliance with ml to protect her country/people when she goes back to Qing.

But yeah, because of that no matter how interesting the plot is I just can't get past 1-2 eps.

It started good, but like many cdramas after a few eps it went downhill.
The fl started strong but fell flat in the second half, while they could've done better with the ml. His story felt incomplete.
The Sha siblings were my fave, likable till the end.

It wrapped up well but felt anticlimactic for the beginning that it had set. And the characters that commited crimes didn't get consequences for their actions.

Overall, its okay, could've been better.
Still, this is watchable compared to other xianxia where I can't even get past the second episode.

Its been a while since I read the novel but I think that particular line by drama ml was said by novel fl.

I don't usually mind dubbing as long as its not annoying sounding like many cdramas with their fls. I also think we got a good one here.

And yes, looking forward to the enemies to brothers. lol

Anyways, the cast is good, looking forward to it.

Ah I see. The last time I've seen her was in Sky Castle so it'd be nice to see her in a different role.

I wonder about this too since she seems to be fl status now. But I guess its okay in this film because its not the typical romance format. Just like the first announcement, she is still the ml's love interest and has more love interest than the fl.

The cast are all good, its something to look forward to.

I'm not critical with other fight scenes or scenes in general, just that one since its important to the siblings relationship esp. on how the brother viewed her after that.

Anyways, I loved their father-daughter duo in GZJ so looking forward to their teacher-disciple in this one. The difference on the way she greets him in GZJ and here is already huge. lol

Mine could be just as bad as yours. 😅 I guess its another thing to look forward to in the drama as reuters/interactions usually pop back up like ZLS with the actor playing the little brother when their bts was released.

The bickering is on point, but the hugs.. the kisses.. a pleasant surprise.
There really is more romance in the drama. Something to look forward to for those who wanted more romance.

But lol at the scene of fl and 2fl together leaving ml alone.

The 2fl isn't a scheming woman, she is friends to both leads and knew ml has feelings for fl. She wanted to celebrate his birthday, it just so happen that ml was vulnerable that time.

No its not her family that fl lost. She was already alone when she took the throne, hence her being a female king. The people she lost are her beloved generals. The novel was clear with how mad, hurt and broken she was. But she had to suppress her emotions and stay strong for her people.

Iirc, it took a while for them to fully made up, for fl to forgive ml (rightfully so). But they were civil with each other as heads of their country and army because the war was not over.

At the end, after a life threatening event with them saving each other, ml gave up getting the world to be with fl, who had left earlier. HE.

There's a new trailer and it showed there really is more romance in the drama than in the novel.

No wonder that man looked familiar. Ah, didn't they have that reuter pic together? or was that a different previous coworker..? 😅

Imo, what the ml felt for 2fl wasn't love. He never did in the entire story. He was only moved because it was his birthday and 2fl made him something his mother used to make for him. He proposed on the spot but stopped halfway when he heard a familiar tune. He knew it was fl. So he starts to think that maybe there's still a chance for him to be forgiven.

The fl was in the same place but different area/quarters. Her loss was still fresh, she was still in pain and mourning.

Its been a while since I read the novel, that's how I remember and perceive that whole scene and their emotions.
