The 2fl isn't a scheming woman, she is friends to both leads and knew ml has feelings for fl. She wanted to celebrate his birthday, it just so happen that ml was vulnerable that time.
No its not her family that fl lost. She was already alone when she took the throne, hence her being a female king. The people she lost are her beloved generals. The novel was clear with how mad, hurt and broken she was. But she had to suppress her emotions and stay strong for her people.
Iirc, it took a while for them to fully made up, for fl to forgive ml (rightfully so). But they were civil with each other as heads of their country and army because the war was not over.
At the end, after a life threatening event with them saving each other, ml gave up getting the world to be with fl, who had left earlier. HE.
There's a new trailer and it showed there really is more romance in the drama than in the novel.

Imo, what the ml felt for 2fl wasn't love. He never did in the entire story. He was only moved because it was his birthday and 2fl made him something his mother used to make for him. He proposed on the spot but stopped halfway when he heard a familiar tune. He knew it was fl. So he starts to think that maybe there's still a chance for him to be forgiven.
The fl was in the same place but different area/quarters. Her loss was still fresh, she was still in pain and mourning.
Its been a while since I read the novel, that's how I remember and perceive that whole scene and their emotions.

The timeline is, ml planned to marry 3fl but backs out. Then he had marriage alliance with fl. But something happened during the war that made fl furious at him and he doubted if she'll be able to ever forgive him. He was comforted by 2fl and he was moved, hence the halfway proposal.

The novel's main story is about politics and war, the romance is secondary. But the drama seems to have more romance.

Seeing as he's not in the trailer and early batches of posters, he's probably just playing a small or guest role. But if ever he's playing Jiuwei, he'd fit the description and we'll see the duo together again.

Right?! I always enjoyed whenever they're both on screen. And knowing they're still friends after the drama makes me look forward to them working again here, whether its the same comedic dynamic or something different/new.
This was cute, fluffy and funny. Idaoki perfectly embodied the manga's chaotic mc and super chill ml.
Its light, no villains, and I liked all the changes from the manga except for the chocolates as it has different meaning in Christmas and Valentines. But overall, its a good la adaptation.
This was so wholesome and pure (yes even when ml had some thristy thoughts lol) but overall its healthy. The mc's growth not just in romance but in other aspects as well was wonderful to see.
A romcom that is actually heart fluttering and funny, not cringey. Kurodachi being the perfect embodiment of confident gay and panic gay. lol I enjoyed this immensely that I prefer this more than the manga.
Overall, its a great la adaptation. A feel good drama with a high rewatch value.
Not sure with "all" but she definitely did most of her wire/stunts in her latest dramas (GZJ, QSTX, XHCL) reuters.
She had mentioned that she managed her weight because its important in wire stunts. She also improved her posture compared to before. So it wouldn't be a surprise if she also trained in horseback riding because she is hardworking. Its one of the things to look forward to in the la.
Now that there is an official date, old and new reuters are coming in plenty. It'd be nice if the drama has more romance. But I also want the angst to be good as well, esp. "that event" when fl legit has murderous aura towards ml.
