there is a bromance and it shows them caring about each other a lottttt but they include a romance to even it out so it feels like Dr Qin's character is sidelined for the entire middle portion
it started off interesting and complex with likeable characters but then got really reaaalllyyy convoluted in the middle. i found that the more they featured and focussed on the romance, the more uninteresting it got bc both jiang shuo and mu qing's characters became inconsistent - like where did all her martial arts and his rational thinking go?? she just became the damsel in distress for the entire middle portion. the episodes got better towards the end but the very last episode was a complete 180 to what i was expecting...and nothing was really given an answer !! idk this one lost me...
what an interesting show! perfect for when you don't know what to watch but don't mind something a tad bit odd lmao - makes for a good lil quick binge!
we have a show in Australia called Wilfred with the exact same premise just without the police aspect and a lot more vulgarity so this is right up my alley
ngl with all the hype surrounding it, i was expecting it to be a bit better! it had a super interesting premise but the execution of action scenes was kinda laughable and i felt as though the plot was advanced through dialogue in a casual passing manner rather than actually being shown...the chemistry was fireee tho!! wish we saw the older couple a bit more, they seem to have an interesting story
starts off super cliche with all the same ol tropes but you cant help but love them by the end - their relationship just feels so genuine and realistic! the ending opens up for a s2 and i hope they make one!
this was unexpectedly suuuper entertaining and the bromance was STRONG. i would love for this to be turned into a proper full length series that delves more into their past and the apparent 'betrayal' - that'd be sick
i could defs see the influence of john woo in that shootout at the church lmao that was so fun
I have 2 qualms with this otherwise fantastic series. The first is the choreography of the fights and the second…
i disliked the kissing scenes too but after reading that one31 is a conservative channel and that these scenes alone are kinda pushing it for them, i understand why it had to be that way - good on them for branching out in the first place
I have 2 qualms with this otherwise fantastic series. The first is the choreography of the fights and the second is the kinda terrible editing. The fights just didn't seem practised enough and i mean fair enough, Jam had to wear them skinny jeans so i imagine thatd make things a bit tough lmao. as for the editing, it reaalllllly could have been better and smoother tbh
luckily everything else was absolutely great and my god, their chemistry just ooooooozes from the screen - jam has a great onscreen presence and film killed it as chan, especially when depicting the cracking facade of that devious smile of his. its a solid show with a strong finish and an interesting ass story ! i want moreee!
Their dynamic is just so fun to watch!! Joseph is just perfect at playing young n naive but passionate characters (his puppy eyes are so cuttteeee!!!) and cheng yi kills it with his delivery of dry humour n sarcasm
literally do urself a favour and watch it, its so fun n entertaining !
So their friendship is similar to the ultimate note?
both have good friendships with similar vibes of 'i wanna protect you' but the dynamics are completely different imo
The friendship in UN is one of 3 long-time friends with friendly, casual banter while in MLC, the 2 leads start off on the wrong foot and grow closer with a few bumps here n there (the 3rd lead is just doing his own thing popping every now n then)
everyone involved in making this show absolutely ATE - the acting? superbbb; the production value? fantastic; storyline and plot? amazing through and through; the characters? sooooo likeable !! shoutout to the editors as well, the way they integrated flashbacks with new scenes so they'd reveal something new was such a good idea - them boys were cookin in that studio

has potential to be great if made into a proper series tbh - 3 mins is just not enough for plot, pacing, character development etc.
