YESSSSSSSS Its precisely this attention to detail that made this drama such a visually stunning treat. They are all wonderfully talented people and made the drama a joy to watch... I feel sooo happy watching LDT. Everything is perfect.
I hate it when some directors seem to think ' fix it in post' is the solution to everything after some poor planning.... like some obviously daytime-shot scenes and they lower the exposure to fake 'night time' and it all just looks so wrong! hahah

It was because even though there was two souls attached to the tree, he gave the half of his core to MQG. Its like part of the spell. Can't go wrong I suppose. Its like programming code. He can't separate MQG and MRW's souls to exclude the sister from being on the tree but he can apparently assign his core to a specific target.
So he was able to tell because he can tell the aura of his own core. MRW was powered by the stolen powers of MQG and she drew the energies from the tree and pushed her sister off so she can have it all to herself.

Yes I agree with that. BUT one big thing was, she was still hoping to marry Su yu and have a normal life too. Its so conflicting. Was she going to cultivate and never die but leave him behind? Su yu is supposed to be mortal. I really can't stand how she kept blaming her sister about how her bones were 'damaged' because of her decision not to help the robbers poison the innocents. She truly does not deserve to become immortal with that kind of selfish mindset. As it is, there are already alot of immortals with problematic personalities as we have seen in other xianxia lol
