I enjoyed reading this even if I only watched Love Shuffle and Don Quixote out of these but I have seen him also in Tsuki no Koibito, Bara no Nai Hanaya and Nagareboshi and I agree that he is a really good and fascinating actor. Somehow the attention is always drawn to him even when he doesn't play the leading role because he has a great charisma. I am looking forwards to seeing more of his works thanks to your guide.
Like another viewer on here, I dropped this drama after watching the second episode. I did this unwillingly because I realized that the actors were good (I have seen them before) and being Italian I was extremely interested in the 'food' part of the story. However the sexist aspect on here really upset me and most of all the way Gong Yyo Jin reacted (or should we say didn't react) to all the ill treating that she went through was really too much to bear. Having read the reviews I am aware that the story will improve in next episodes but I am not willing to witness any more humiliations just for the sake of love between the two main leads or career advancement of one of them.
I've watched three of these Coffee Prince, Secret Garden and the Jversion of You're Beautiful. They are all excellent dramas to which I gave top marks but I don't think I would want to watch too many gender bender dramas as I would easily get fed up with the same type of plot.
This was truly and AMAZING drama. It will certainly go on my all time favourites. Everything was just perfect and each episode made me jump in anxiety and surprise. All the actors, the goodies (a special mention MUST go to Jo Jung Suk) and the baddies, the plot, the settings and the OST. I heartly recommend all Kdrama lovers to watch this as I am sure it will remain considered amongst the best ever made for a very long time. Thumbs up for a true masterpiece.
Hi thanks so much for your friend request...I am so pleased to meet another 'older' viewer like myself. I saw that you are watching City Hunter which is also one of my all time favourites. Do come and take a look at my list if you want and we can exchange views on our favourite dramas.
I have seen him in Buzzer Beat and Ending Planner and I find him quite fascinating because he is always serious and smiles very rarely. I am looking forward to seeing him in Monsters. (great idea to write Stalkers Guides!)
This drama has an interesting story as it is a good mixture of Japanese and Korean identities. I was also surprised to hear a Korean OST and also quite a lot of Korean being spoken in the drama. I would say that this is the only positive factor about this story as it aimed to create a bridge between these two populations.I personally didn't enjoy the acting, in particular of the female lead who was too stiff and unnatural and I found the pace of the drama really too slow in many moments. I gave it a 6 and I only recommend it as a 'filler' drama.
I was very impressed with this drama. The story is fascinating, delicate, moving and absorbing and I never expected this from a historical drama and I was so pleasantly surprised. It is the first time that I see Osawa Takao and I found his acting brilliant and convincing so I will surely watch the sequel Jin 2. I highly recommend it but warn those with a delicate stomach that there are some quite explicit medical scenes in this drama.
Yes OSTs definitely give the right feeling to a drama. Out of these I watched Pride and Kagi no Kakatta Heya and both have brilliant OSTs. The latter was the reason for me to discover Arashi and become one of their fans. Other favourites OSTs of mine are in Nodame Cantabile and Hotaru no Hikari.
I agree with this great and funny article. In my opinion what distinguishes one Kdrama from the other is the way all of these common features and clichès are packed together. In some instances the mixture works better than in others also thanks to a brilliant OST, like in Coffee Prince, City Hunter and Secret Garden for example.
I was very skeptical before watching this as I don't enjoy action stories and I didn't know Lee Min Ho. However I can now say that this is one of the best dramas I have watched so far. The story, the acting, the OST... everything was just perfect and every episode left me with a turmoil of emotions and with wanting to see more. I agree that the ending was rather abrupt and they could have developed the romance side a little bit more, however I heartly recommend this and it will be a definite rewatch for me.

It is hard to read subtitles at the beginning, but once you get used to it you don't notice it any longer and watching these dramas in their original language is very pleasant. Hopefully more people of my generation will soon discover these works of art. Happy drama watching!
I have only watched Coffee Prince and Secret Garden out of all of these and I agree that in both cases the 'heroes' made radical changes for their loved ones.
This article is really true. I do feel lonely sometimes when watching dramas and wish I could watch some with my adult children (24 and 20) who originally introduced me to Jdramas even though they are not avid drama watchers and only watched 4 so far. I am trying to convince my eldest daughter to watch Coffee Prince with me and haven't succeeded so far, but will not give up, LOL!! However I am really thankful to this on-line community which substitutes drama buddies perfectly well! Please keep these great articles coming!
This was a very pleasant drama to watch. Nothing major happens neither from a romantic nor from a medical point of view, however it manages to be a believable and relaxing story with an absolutely breathtakingly beautiful mountain setting and a nice cosy cottage. Mukai Osamu plays his role very well even if the story remains unfortunately rather flat.
