I just finished this drama and I have to say that it deserved the highest share of the season in Japan, mostly because it was very well made with a fast rhythm to each episode. Even though it wasn't particularly original as it reminded me of House MD, I thought that the idea of her being a pretty and sexy woman doctor was good and the fact that she went against the rules and the general 'male' domination in hospitals was convincing. The OST fitted perfectly with the story and all in all this was a high quality medical drama that I would recommend. I would have preferred it to have a real flow of the story rather than having separate 'cases' episodes which is why I am only rating it with an 8.
I have only seen him in Tatta Hitotsu no Koi and I agree that his acting was superb there and the drama on the whole was very convincing. The only other drama that I have seen with him is Sapuri and I wasn't impressed not so much for his acting but for the whole story which was rather flat, IMO. I still have to see fireworks with this actor as I haven't watched many of the dramas in this list...his future might be more promising!!
This is a very, very good drama!! I enjoyed every minute of it and it made me want to know more about that historical time period and that type of University. I read that this story was taken from a book and I would be very interested to find the English version but was not lucky so far. In any case I really appreciated the four main leads as they made a great team: each of them had a very definite and particular personality that blended well with all the others and the story is fun and interesting. I absolutely loved the setting, the costumes and the OST...this is another very well made drama that I highly recommend and that I will certainly rewatch soon.
Amongst the Korean actresses I also like Park Min Young (City Hunter, Sungkyunkwan Scandal) and amongst the Japanese Ayase Haruka (Jin, Hotaru no Hikari etc.)Thanks for your article, I will have to watch more dramas as I don't know many of these actresses.
I commented on FB and I will do so on here too. This drama is good, I am enjoying it because it gives moral teachings but in a very lighthearted and comedy type way which is why it is a pleasant watch. For the question in the review I vote for Kimura Takuya.
wow, I almost missed this article and it would have been a real pity if I did as it is great! I totally agree with the Japanese list...my favourites are Takuya Kimura, Fujiki Naohito and Arata. I don't know any of the Taiwanese and out of the Koreans I only know two but one is worth a million and this is Gong Yoo...he is absolutely fabulous!!
What a big disappointment this drama was for me! I totally agree with the negative reviews on here. I gave it a 6 only for the side story between the Manager and Dong Ha which was hilarious otherwise it would have been a 3 from me. This is neither a romcom nor a mystery drama... it was just a big mess and I agree that only the first episodes were fun and interesting and by the end of it I felt somewhat cheated as I was expecting much more if I stood by those episodes.I felt no chemistry at all between the main leads even after they discovered they had feelings for each other and let me say that I might be the only one in here who didn't find any charm at all in Lee Dong Wook? And what was the side story revolving around the best friend and his wife all about, did they suddenly go crazy? I really felt like dropping this halfway through and I don't recommend this at all.
have you seen the Japanese version of this drama? It is absolutely brilliant!!
Exactly the same: My Boss My Hero and it was broadcasted in 2006.

My thoughts about Big are that it is a shame that they ruined the ending (which was only the last 10 minutes of the last episode) as it seemed to spoil the whole drama for many viewers, whereas it didn't for me. Infact I found it quite logical (in relation to the story obviously as we all know that in real life what happened in the story is not possible)as anything else would have been awkward. In any case Gong Yoo definitely saved the whole drama and I will certainly rewatch it soon as his acting is brilliant as always...I am now eagerly waiting for his next drama hoping that there will be some action in it too!
ps. thanks for recommending Baker King, I had no idea that Joo Won was in another good drama, I will watch it soon.

Thanks for your info, I will check it out straight away. Yes I imagined Joo Won had a different personality to Gaksital in real life from a few clips I read here and there and I am curious to see what he is like. I am hoping to watch Ojakgyo Brothers soon too...did you see it?
I haven't seen any of the dramas mentioned above but I want to mention the second lead of City Hunter (the Prosecutor) and the second lead of King2Hearts (the Captain) who absolutely conquered my heart, and there are other dramas out there were second male leads sometimes shine even more than the main characters (Yoon Kye Sang in The Greatest Love comes to mind, not to mention the second lead in Bridal Mask Park Ki Woong who was just as good as the main lead).

Hi 4winkay I didn't know about 1N2D and it is not listed here on Mydramalist either, is it being shown at the moment and what is it about?
I have only watched Secret Garden, Coffee Prince and Buzzer Beat out of all these and I agree that they are very romantic! Sungkyunkwan Scandal is on my soon to be seen list and I will add all the other ones on my plan to watch list. Thanks for this article!

thanks so much for your friend request! We have the same taste in favourite actors and dramas! :0)
I really enjoyed this drama mostly because of the very believable and realistic plot. My favourite aspect was the strong and independent personality of Oh Dal Ja and her optimism and self-confidence. This is a perfect drama that shows how women can rely on themselves without necessarily getting married at a pre-determined age. I appreciated everyone's acting here which was top notch including that of the second leads. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a pleasant and enjoyable watch.
I agree for the Japanese about Yamapi and Matsuda Shota and for the Koreans absolutely about Lee Min Ho and Joo Won. I would have included in the Korean list also Gong Yoo and in the Japanese list Kimura Takuya, it's a shame that they almost made it but didn't get amongst the top 5.
ps. thanks for recommending Baker King, I had no idea that Joo Won was in another good drama, I will watch it soon.
