Will add the 2nd half after 2nd episode.
So we all know the shows are rigged even without "officially rigging the votes". Production team has its favs and the editing shows it as fuck. Unless someone catches the publics attention for some reason or someone becomes fans favorite randomly, the top9 will consist of the idols who had the most focus on them in episode 1 and 2 Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
Episode 1 we had:
β Park Han Bin
β Seok Matthew
β Chen Kuan Jui
β Park Gun Wook
β Jang Hao
β Han Yu Jin
β Sung Han Bin
β Hui
β Haruto
β Jay
There is a huge difference between their screen time and what other trainees got. When some were shown just for the group greeting and not even bits of the performances, they often had the whole framing of their personalities - why they auditioned, what was their journey to be idols, how it started, additional performances, other idols talking about them etc. Bot only that - look at Chen Kuan Jui - they did not even show the group performance, just his bits from it, from various angles, repeated few times, adding slow motion etc.
So yeah, while I might like some other trainees, I am getting mentally ready for most of the ones above to debut, and the chances of someone else getting in are real low.
Same thing happens in Thai BLs, but with putting together the same pairings over and over again , it's not just "because they have a good chemistry"- this sell, because they already have a fanbase, because they don't want to piss off the fans of the ship. the π΅π΅ is and always will be a factor in casting.
Honestly speaking, my biggest issue is casting people who for some reason don't want to kiss AT ALL on screen. Be it the decision they made or it's in the contract with the company they are sign under. Like Cherry Magic - amazing show, but the last elevator scene was just π€‘ Or Toptap and Mike in Tonhon Chonlatee - the characters were supposed to be openly gay couple, and they kept cutting scenes every time they were about to kiss - it was just annoying and distracting. Just don't write the kisses into the script if you know the cast can't do them for some reason Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
As for casting - getting into BLs is not as popular in Korea as in Thailand. The number of actors Thai shows can go through during auditions is for sure far bigger than in Korea.
One thing that for me Thai shows fail at during casting is: once they find a good pairing, they keep them together as long as possible in as many projects as possible. For me, it gets boring real fast...
Also missing is not exactly the criteria, coz some people were known to be dead, but the body was not found...
I always skip previews in dramas coz they too often spoil the whole episodes π€‘
Also, the fact I liked Thomas in season 1 the most and bish did not get any closure, and now I liked Il Yong and he had bullshit of a closure... π
Also, random but I was a bit pissed at the end. Li Yu Heng and Qiao Zheng Yu were such a gentle and pure and nice ship, why they did not introduce them earlier. I would like the two of them as the 2nd couple way more than Song Song and Xia Zhi π
40"52 < around that time in that episode. I did not need that closeup on the face π I meant a really specific frame hahaha
also, the gross part was not about gore, but more of a "feeling way too much like a tentacle porn rather than horror" scene
Maybe I am the only one tired of the thriller/mystery/serial killer/action/any other than rom-com genre in rom-com genre π
I see quite a few people not liking the slower introduction and I get it, but for me it's perfect. The show has 16 episodes and it's a romantic comedy. They either need to take their time to establish characters and have a slow but natural progression and good pacing, or add random bullshit to fill that screentime π Not to mention, personally I prefer to know the characters as individuals before I start seeing them interacting with each other.
The only complaint I have is the creepy stalker student. I hope she will not be there for the comedic bits, and they will truly show her as creepy and inappropriate...
The issue I have is how... boring all the characters are. There is nothing new nor refreshing about majority of them.
Honest, the best part of the story, the character with most depth and the one with best performance was the girl who had the abusive boyfriend...
