First of all tea - both Jim and Wen are hella unlikable and egocentric 🥲 Wen's redeeming quality are his scenes with Li Ming and Jim's is his relationship with his friends (being honest about his feelings with Gaipa and helping Saleng in his situation with the kid). And because they are so unlikable I don't really care about their romance that much 🤡

I get that at first they did not add subs to what they were saying using sign language because it was suppose to represent Li Ming's side and how much he also gets from what Heart is saying, but now... adding subs makes sense. Now that both of them sign and Li Ming is also often not even verbalizing what he is saying, it's just not necessary to not add subs. It does not anymore represents Li Ming's perspective, it's just confusing for the viewers... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have so much respect to Alan for being honest about how it might be hard for him to separate personal things from work. This is too much of a risk to "hope for the best". He told Jim it would be better to try get the loan somewhere else, but at the end Jim is the one making the inform decision.

That hi5, double hi5 and then fake kiss makes me worried about My School President finale 🤡

Overall, as charming as the drama seemed at first, I'm kind of losing interest with each and every episode. This "each episode is the next month" sounds good on paper, but lacks in execution. I need to keep reminding myself how much time passed, because it is not obvious.

As I said in the comment below: Earth was miscast and because of it, many things are just weird.

While it has many beautiful shots, it also has many lighting issues.

I find Wen and Alan's story the most interesting, and Li Ming and Heart's story best executed. Wen and Jim just ain't doing it for me. Also, it's just sad how little screentime Gaipa gets - why not give Khaotung time to showcase his talent. Earth and Mix are better in acting than a lot of BL actors, but they are also the worst from the cast in this drama. And yet technically they are the center of it all and THE leads.

Agreed, I have said this as well - Earth is miscast in this. They wanted the EarthMix combo but it doesn't work…
But I like the idea that Jim is 40. I honestly would not want the character to be younger, I rather they cast someone else more fitting the role of a 40 years old dude hahahaa

Well, because Earth is not 40, it makes it hard to understand why the character cannot be younger. But Someone who is 30 and someone who is 40 is not the same, but they cannot convey the hardships of a 40 years old dude with past trauma etc when the actor is and looks 28. they try to present him as the mature older dude who everyone trusts and goes to for help and advice, but Earth just does not presents as such a person 😅 The story and dynamics between characters would have to be changed if they made him younger. For me they should have just cast someone older. Mid 30.

I adore Li and Heart's relationship, but I also agree that there is a bit much going on, especially with this format of storytelling. We get 1-2 days of a month of their lives, we just so much in terms of buildup... Each episode in the next month, so it's hard to actually show the gradual progression AND the amount of time that has passed.

I actually agree that Jim and Wen's relationship is the least interesting one. On one hand I do not vibe with it because of the miscast (because many scenes just do not feel authentic enough), on the other hand... Wen is charming but not a person whom I want to root for in terms of his love line? For me he needs some solo time, not another partner. I adore his scenes with Li Ming and I actually prefer this older brother vibes he has here, than what is going on with Jim.

Exactly! I mean I can understand what he has been through but denying to pick up the call for 'MANY TIMES', not…
Jim was forced into a problematic situation that he had no intention to be part of in the first place and Wen said it will not be. Jim has so much shit to deal with in real life, but now he is also affected by the messy relationship Wen has. Wen knew Jim does not want any more complications in his life and yet he still pushed himself into Jim's life knowing his situation with Alan is extremely messy - everyone around him told him that.

"Instead of facing the problem" - he was clear from the start he does not want the problem and Wen saying there will be none was the reason he even agreed to the one night stand and all that happened later. In his situation, not wanting to deal with and "face the problem" that Wen caused is completely valid.

I still believe Earth was miscast for the role, and when I read the comments it's even more evident. Jim is an almost 40, grown up man who has too many responsibilities to truly handle. He takes care not only about Li Ming, but also his friend and he has to save his restaurant. He has some traumatic past experience in terms of relationship. Dude is tried as fuck. But I don't see it when I look at Earth hot young face ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ He just does not look worn out by life enough. So when people look at his character and Wen's character, they view them as too much of peers, when they are not. They also don't see him as a legal guardian and father like figure for Li Ming, but more of a controling older brother. Which he is not.

About Wen - for me he him not wanting to meet with Wen makes perfect sense. He said he does not want any complicated relationships on day one. Wen said fine, then she started to put himself in Jim's life knowing very well his situation IS complicated. Jim does not have time, strength and motivation to put himself through shit like that because he has too many responsibilities anyway.

For Li Ming, Jim os his legal guardian - any issues would also cause Jim issues. They clearly telling us about the wealth differences and how poor has little to no rights and chance to fight against the rich, so it makes sense that Jim as an adult would put that over momentary hurt feelings he might cause Li Ming. It's the adult way of thinking - if shit goes down, they literally have no means to fight back and deal with it. Li Ming is right in terms of his motivation - it';s not fair and he should not apologize for things he did not do wrong. But in reality, his motivation means nothing, because if the family would turn out to be dicks, no amount of him screaming how bad they are would change the unfair consequences he would have to face.

Earth is doing his best, but he does give off more of a cool young uncle vibes, and not grown up man who is just tired of everything and trying to deal with the piling issues with little to no help from others. And because of that, his reactions and behaviors seem more selfish and immature than they actually are in the circumstances the character is in.

They have some serious issues with lighting on set 🤣

With this "I slept with you out of pity" and Wen knowing Alan cannot treat him just as friend, but still trying and going for it, I hope no one will now just blame Alan for being delusional it can work out. They both made mistakes in this relationship. It's not Alan being villain and Wen being a victim.

Wen be like: Be logical. I'm just sleeping with my ex in one bed and he still cannot accept we actually broke up and tried to beat you up for sleeping with "his boyfriend". But we are jUsT fRiEnDs 🤡
Wen, you delusional bish 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Heart and Li Ming tho 😭😭😭😭😭🥰

Okay, will there be a meeting between Gaipa and Alan? I'm curious if they will couple everyone up by the end or nah. I want Alan to have a happy ending 🥲

One more thing - I LOVE how the show did not try to truly excuse Akk's actions as if he did no wrong. He made mistakes, he should face the consequences, but the important thing is: he can change.

yess thanks for pointing that out. but that doesnt mean we can totallly say kristian didnt do anythiing wrong,…
That's the thing, we can feel bad for Kamden about the unfortunate circumstances that caused him a lot of frustration without putting a blame on other trainees. Honestly speaking, even if everyone did their best to make sure everything is translated well, it would still be painfully frustrating, because this translating to each other thing takes precious time they need to practice. So things other teams would finish in an hour, would take them two just because the communication is not as easy.

briczennie on yt pointed out some editing details about the whole Kamden and Krystian situation (including the crying scene that turns out to be a mix of two completely different moments in the interview). So if anyone is interested:

now that the fancams of all performances dropped (which, too many I cannot watch them all lol). I have to say Park Han Bin is painfully underrated. He has some of the most stable vocals while dancing. Not a note off pitch. Not to mention solid dancing, great stage presence. Like, even when it's not his part he is giving 100%.

the performance as a group was pain (oof some high notes 🤣), but my dude Park Han Bin did amazing. Show some love maybe pretty please? 🥲

I was not rooting for FL either hahaha Literally the only character I cared for was the dad, because he was the only one with half a brain 😅

Serial killer killing for no other reason than "I can" could work if they presented him in more narcissistic way, but they did not. It's fine to not give a serial killer a proper reason, BUT you need to give the reason on why he is killing when there is not really anything pushing him or motivating him to kill. Give the reason for the lack of reason I guess 😅

I agree with all your points, tho it never tried to present itself as a "psychological thriller" - it's neither in the genre nor the tags, so I would not put it against it for not delivering what psychological thriller should. Since it's simply not one.

I am a succer for bad parants who get to stay bad... and liked several of the characters... but I guess some had…
I understood both brother and grandma. This was her son after all, not easy to give up on your child. Bro wanted to just get out of the shitty situation and move on (getting emotionally detached is a common thing in abusive houses). Dude was doing his best to study etc. probably with the hope of ditching it all in the future.

But Yeo Reum... in the context of her situation, her motivations, her relationship with Bom - there was no reason for her to be on grandma's side and not Bom's. that part of writing just annoyed the fuck out of me it was so illogical.

do i have to watch the movie first ?
No. This is a separate series, based on the first novel of the trilogy.
Most likely there will be 2 more seasons.

The situation in the hospital was the exact moment I started to hate FL 🤣 I could understand literally everyone being on the grandma side, ignoring how traumatic it was for Bom, but when Yeo Reum screamed at Bom for being disrespectful to her grandma, coz the girl was emotional and unstable AFTER BEING STABBED BY HER FATHER and everyone not giving a fuck about her mental state and trying to emotionally blackmail her into lying to defend him... I lost it 🙃 Especially since she herself refused to help her brother with the money for the family and kept preaching how she is only going to think about her own well-being 😆

Yeah I am 100% fine with bad characters staying bad. I hate lazy character development tho - like character is a dick one episode, and out of a blue helpful the next with no real reason. Also asshole characters who the writer tries to present as not so much of an assholes 😅

I don't know... I feel like they did not know how realistic they wanted to make it, so we have some scenes that are hard to watch and really realistic, but then some dumb and exaggerated that I cannot take them seriously. The contrast just bothered me. That said, I feel like the fans ruined the show too much for me as I was watching 🤣 for a slice of life show the fandom was hella toxic.
