But I completely agree that they tried to be vague to let the audience decide for themselves, but it was tooo vague, so basically any interpretation could fit... so does it even have a true meaning and message and conclusion?
This was legit one of the few things I liked about the drama - they showed that the kid here was not the victim, but the perpetrator. both him and Zhang Dong Sheng were the villains who manipulated people around them and showed little remorse.
The whole ass confusing ending was part of it. The kids are dead except from Chao Yang, and he tried to convince himself they are still alive to cope with the results of his decisions.
don't quote me on specifics tho, it's been a while since I saw it π
and then episode 6 happened π
The episode was far less dramatic than the preview showed, so I'm less worried about next episode, even tho, yet again, the preview is hella drama hahaha
What I like about this drama is how Ma Eum is obviously a good person, but they make sure to show her ways and thinking is not always good nor correct, and she can still be biased. Like with Kwon Young Bae this episode.
Because the viewers get the "lecturing" and life lessons WITH main character, and not delivered BY main character, it never comes across as preachy.
They are obviously setting the dynamics and motivations between the characters now, so the drama can drop with episode 6 (watching that preview was exhausting lol).
That said, the last scene was A+ fucking amazing and beautiful and I like Ma Eum even more now, which I did not think was possible.
Midsommar 63%
Get Out 86%
hereditary 68%
babadook 72%
Except from Get Out, all have rather low ratings....
She is perfect! I would legit not change a detail about her.
I mean midsommar, get out, hereditary, babadook - barely 7/10, some even 6. But at the same time these are thought to be some of the best new horrors.
Did the dog want to attack her coz her blood was stoles? Like why the dog thought she was soul shifter? OH, it attacks for any sorcery reason, so the stealing blood was part of it. Makes sense? π
Can't believe the Crown Prince is the only one with brain in the royal family. How low are the standards there π€£π€£ Also Jim Mu literally having the evil mastermind smirk, how no one sees that?
For fuck sake, the plot is BARELY MOVING and they waste time on young lady Jin being picky about her food? The rating I have for this show keeps dropping each episode.
That preview brings some hope tho. That last scene I mean. coz episode 16 was more or less ποΈ
I love it. Honestly, truly adore it. This is a perfect warm, cheerful, positive and destressing show with some fun and quality characters and great messages and dialogues. I feel like this is one of the shows that somehow is following the tropes, but still feels refreshing.
First of all, On Ma Eum is amazing. Extremely optimistic and hardworking. What's important - she does not think things will just go well, she believes she can work hard to make them go well. She bets on her work, not luck. While she is a bit stuck in her "positive" word and attitude and fails to instinctually see how other people might have different approach, once confronted, she tries to understand other people and act according to the new information.
Seok Ji Hyung and Jang Man Cheol are amazing seniors and great mentors. I appreciate a lot how I get no romantic vibes from Ji Hyung and Ma Eum. I love to see their mentor-mentee dynamics. What's scares me tho, is how low on supporting cast Park Ho San is, so I'm trying to not get too attached to him π
Goo Jun Yeong is strongly adorable. At first I thought he would be this asshole cold main lead type of a guy, but he is actually quite cute and harmless. He is straightforward with what he says, but up till now I don't think he was even once actually rude. He reacts well to people guiding him and takes suggestions and advices to heart. He is far more open to new things than I thought he would be.
I also appreciate (tho I can't say I like) all the few webtoon artists we have seen so far. Especially Na Gang Nam - I love him so much. I literally laugh out loud watching his scenes. Even the female webtoon artist - she might not be my type of a person, but I see the value she brings as a character.
I am EXTREMELY curious about Shin Dae Ryuk's story and how they will conclude it. He brings a completely different vibe to the overall fluffy and cheerful environment and it's greatly needed to add a bit more layers to the characters.
Don't have that much to say about the acting - everyone is doing great job. Kim Se Jeong's existence is just unfair to us all. Not only her singing is just phenomenal (she ain't one of the idols who got into acting coz they ain't that good at singing so they can't have a solo career), but she is also an amazing actress. She is so natural, no matter what role she takes.
β The lore of the world they created.
β The complex background of all the characters and families.
β The actual plot of the show currently happening.
This show has barely any plot progress. Sure, they keep expanding and explaining the background of it all, but the current events BARELY EXIST.
Putting aside all the romance, what we had so far:
- Naksu shifted to the new body
- Jang Uk training under Mu Deok
- Jin Mu creating more soul shifters, we still don't really know what is his deal and why they still hide in the shadows when they already do have the ice stone or whatever, and it's suppose to be so powerful, it's not like anyone could actually kill them and fight them?
- Park Jin being suspicious of Mu Deok
- The Jin family bullshit about the lost daughter. I'm sorry but it's been what 4 or more episodes since the fake girl been introduced and was suppose to be the daughter, and she ain't it yet. What is this pacing?
It's been 15 episodes, the plot barely moves forwards. Legit, if you don't have plot for 30 episodes, don't make 30 episodes drama π
That said, the court scene with Master Lee was the most badass thing that happened so far in this show. Damn I love him so much!
Personally I was entertained, but not amazed, hence only 7.5 rating.
I guess I expected more from the games, but most of them were predictable and it killed the joy at some point...
It would be far better to just "throw" under the bus Jin Mu, make him come up with some ridiculous excuse no one would TRULY believe, but they couldn't truly prove he is lying, and then regroup and deal with the long term consequences. The Eunuch is an issue anyone, it's good if he is dead. Now he is going to be just more of an issue. Why are villains dumb? π
Everyone turns into a π€‘ just so they can manipulate the prince hahaha
OMG YES THE PRINCE BEING SUS ABOUT JIN MU! COME TO THE LIGHT SIDE! Like legit it would be the best scenario if he joined the good guys. Jang Uk obviously does not want to be the king, he just want to chill with Mu Deok. He would not be a threat to royal power. Just join jzcfjskdfjdslfh
Mu Deok and Master Lee are the best trainers duo ever hahahah The way they team up to train Jang Uk is so funny.
