Great review, agree 100%. The casting was phenomenal here. I would not want to recast one person. Also "one you'll particularly hate" is a really nice way to put it. I wanted to smash my laptop few times, and had to pause the episode because I was too pissed off to continue 🙃

it's a movie version, it does not present all the stories that drama version does I guess.
Movie version only has 5 chapters.

He literally did a 180 in last 2 episodes without any reason.

I feel like I express my thoughts well in my review with this line:

"I was intrigued by the interesting beginning, and not smart enough to leave when I saw the first red flags warning me, this leads to nothing good. One could say I’m Na Bi, and this show was Jae Eon - leaving me angry, annoyed, frustrated and exhausted."

If I knew it will end like this, I would probably not watch it.

Didn't know you know all the producers and directors who ever created censored adaptation dramas, since you know all of their motivations so well.

I'm not gonna say it's not about money too. It's not like Korea started to film BLs now only for the lgbt support and representation. They saw how popular and big the markets is, so they jump on it. Thai BLs are not there for representation either, when they adapt mostly awfully written stories made by straight cis women and not the ones written by actually gay creators. The whole BL industry is first about money, and then if lucky about representation.

Also, can we stop acting as if these producers and directors just taken the works and did with it what they wanted? The writer sold the writer for it to be made into adaptation. Want to drag someone, drag the writer too. They knew this drama will be censored and they were fine with it. Shows how the creator of these BL stories do not care about representation either (at least in your view, since you think they are all disgrace, but the authors agreed to make it happen for money).

Okay, while agree The Untamed is not BL, you are being EXTREMELY unfair. Censored adaptation is the only form of gay romance Chinese people can get in mainstream media. Directors and producers are doing their best to convey as much of the original work as they can, hence they often have more than one version of the show ready, in case the first will not pass the censorship. They come up with clever ways to drop Easter eggs from the novels into the shows, that audience will catch on, but censorship will not.

Good for you and for me to be able to (I assume for you) live in a countries that do not have censorship of media like that. But for China it's either trying their best to convey the romance in censored show, or getting nothing.

They did not know Li Zilong had someone learn how to make them, hence they thought the number of them was limited to the ones that were already made. They did not know he could make new ones with the materials.

People dislike her outside of her relationship with Sol, coz she is busybody that acts first and thinks second.
Also not everyone who questions their sexuality acts the way she does, being possessive and unfair to the person they claim to like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While I also am not the biggest fan of them as a pair since I dislike Jiwan, it's completely not true Sol broke up with anyone coz of Jiwan, as she was not in a relationship with anyone in the first place. The coffee guy tried to flirt with Sol, but she never saw him as a romantic interest.

Sol had a crush for Jiwan for a long time, and she was never forced to question anything.

Yeah, not that she literally told DH she does not want to get back with JE in episode 8 🙃 At the end of the day he told her when she was leaving to Seoul in episode 8, that if she tells him that there will never be chance of them getting together, he will give up. But she didn't. All she has to do is say "this will never happen". But she doesn't.

Had the same thought about the umbrella.
I love how Do Hyuk brought her umbrella to make sure she will not get wet, while Jae Eon was the reason she did at the end. I think it perfectly represents their priorities. Do Hyun thinking about Na Bi, Jae Eon thinking about himself. That said, Na Bi should have checked the weather on the net and bring umbrella herself, so it still could, in a metaphorical way, show how she is not independent and relies on and is influenced by the guys.

it's nothing new. In Chinese shows except from voting online etc. there are ways to support your contestants that are either only available to Chinese people, or extremely hard to do for foreigners. Each country will favor voters from their own country, coz these people will be the core audience for the group. Even if they will debut with song having 3 versions in all 3 languages, the shows, variety shows etc, will take most place in Korea, so it's fair for them to have more say on who is in the group.

They see more than we see (since they cut a lot of footage to fit 1.30h episode). My friend guessed all the fake places from season 2 too, with less info than Jessi gets (since she is there on set and sees more).

There is LITERALLY no logical reason for the staff to cheat and give Jessi any info (as you claimed in comments below).
