Great article! Love your thought process which I can relate to. I'm very much affected by mood which in turn influences…
To be honest, I talked to a friend yesterday and I said that the shows I love right now I would most likely dislike when I was a teen and just got into kdramas.
While I am pretty sure most titles I will pick up from dropped were go back to that list, I think it's worth trying and finding these few gems :D

Heh. I've dropped half the dramas I've started, and finished less than a quarter...I have this awful habit of…
Filling your ptw and currently watching lists with new shows is quite a popular thing hahaha A lot of people keep starting new shows instead of finishing the old ones.

And I feel you about the last episodes. Even tho I always finish shows if I get to the last two eps etc, I often really struggle with it and watch the eps on 1.5x speed. Coz as you said, a lot of times, all the interesting aspects were dealt with and they are just making stuff up to fill that 16 (or more) episodes format.

I'm thinking about picking up a dropped drama next month. Yes I once did picked up a dropped drama to watch how…
do you want to pick them up coz you don;t like to drop shows, or are you just curious how they went in later episodes?

Review Undercover Spoiler
Nice review! Anticlimactic? How did it became like that? Can you spoil the ending for me in comments? thanks!
Well... Hyeong Rak kidnapped Yeon Soo to force Jung Hyun to give back the tablet with all the incriminating evidence. Young Geol tries to shoot Jung Hyun, Hyeong Rak gets annoyed and shoots Young Geol. Shit happens and Hyeong Rak falls from the construction site building, and he is barely holding up, asking Young Geol to help him, but he does not. He falls, we thought to his death, but nah he survived. The shit in the tablet involves not only bad deeds from Hyeong Rak, but is an evidence for political scheme involving many different people of power, so they go after them (tho this is never explained).

Both Hyeong Rak and Jung Hyun end up in prison, but the show ends with Jung Hyun getting out (probably short sentence, and his family is there to pick him up, they changed their surnames to Lee, since now he goes by his real name.

I just cannot believe there was not real face off with Hyeong Rak... dude literally fell from the building hahahaha

Review I Told Sunset about You Spoiler
I'm watching Like In The Movies now and I saw your review of it with which I agree 1000%. So i saw someone in…
Here's the thing tho, my ratings are more of "how much I enjoyed watching" and not "hot good the show is". That's why Why R U, even tho awful production, sits at 9.5 hahaha

And I kind of enjoyed ITSAY is a masochistic sense hahaha It's was a trainwreck of stupid kids and I was up for the ride. I was thinking if I should give it 7.5 or 8, but overall... I "had fun". If it was longer show, the rating would drop a lot. Plots like that are entertaining to a certain point, but they cannot be dragged for too long.

That said, even tho I gave it fairly high rating, some people were still not happy/triggered about it, as if it was low hahaha

Just wanna share a bit of context here. The webtoon indeed has lgbt context. The main/the most prominent conflicts…
i see people say they don';t think it's queerbaiting, but damn it's one of the best examples there are lol

This is not a case of crazy BL fans seeing romance where there is none. This is good old queerbaiting. Comparing how scenes and interactions between the two MLs and Yeo Joon and So Bin were filmed and presented... one could easily assume it's a gay romance. Who got the rom-com music? Who got the slow-mo glances? Who got the tense bickering and clearly showing some kind of interest? all that are usually used to set the couple in the first few episodes.

The same interaction the main leads had, filmed and edited differently could truly be viewed as just bromance or friendship. But the way they framed them made it more.

And since you say the webtoon was accused on queerbaiting too, no one can deny the drama does that. Any potentially "romance leading" scene between Yeo Joon and So Bin goes back to Soo Hyun. Bungee jump? We get them "looking" at each other at the end. The fight and So Bin "saving" Yeo Joon? We get Soo Hyun getting involved and them staring at each other and the whole "care for me" stuff.

This whole deal just does not sit well with me :(

I have the feeling that this will be a bromance with a hint of BL. Hoping!
I would rather have no hints of anything tbh. Either give me lgbt content or don't give me any. This baiting with no closure and happy ending (or any ending) is just frustrating.

the bromance tag is definitely a turn off for me. I think I might give it a shot anyway and see how queerbaity…
yeah there is a difference between Chinese producers making as close to a lgbt context shows as they can get, while not getting the shows cancelled coz of the media censorship, and Korea not giving lgbt content coz some part of the society is not on board.
One cannot produce gay content coz of the laws in the country, the other just does not want to produce content that might be "controversial" while still exploiting the audience that would be interested in lgbt content in the first place.

the thing is, this goes beyond bromance, at least in the first episode. That's why I am so annoyed.

Title Undercover Spoiler
Im Hyeong Rak saying in episode 13, that he underestimated Suk Gyu, because he made a copy of the Widow's Cruse…
He's been murdering people left and right if they were getting close to spilling th tea about his past and then making it look like it was a suicide. To say he was not a mastermind and manipulating everything for years is a bit off. He wasn't just sitting on a chair getting rich. He is a director of intelligence agency after all, above average IQ is a must for it to work.

All characters are presented as smart and skilled, but all the events prove otherwise. So rather than watching for the winner, I ended up seeing who will fuck up less.

not really. If he was able to manipulate the whole freaking country for YEARS, it should be a habit of him to assume and get ready for "the worst". Especially since he knows ML's motivation is not to reveal the truth but to protect his family - hence just revealing the file would not be his move, but rather keeping it "safe" for future.

can someone tell me if it's actually good? I see some good review here but I kinda scared if it's just another…
damn I get triggered when TT is mentioned in a close proximity to Like in the Movies. It's literally like heaven and hell (TT gaining the title of demonic BL for me lol)

So far my Dropped section was a place where dramas landed that I gave up for good. A few are past the "Second…
I just drop dramas SO easily, it makes sense that I give them 2nd chance hahaha
But yeah, it's a project that will not fit everyone :)

Article Run On: The Rarest Gem Spoiler
"I think, even if he had this disorder, till the end of the drama he was able to cure from it" which basically means he did not have a disorder to begin with hahaha I find it a new trend lately on mdl to diagnose various characters with disorders. Best thing that happens is when a character actually has a disorder but viewers starts to diagnose them with something else hahaha

Anyway, Run On is for sure a fresh concept among the rom-com genre. Wish it was a little bit shorter OR develop some side stories more.

The ost was awesome, and as you said, the comedy was gold many times. The gif you used for the birthday party - one of my favorite scenes. It was just so all over the place but in the best way possible :)

Love the article I have the opposite project going on now to complete everything in my PTW added before 2021.…
damn! And here I am, picking dramas to watch that are not on my ptw lists hahaha
Good luck with your project! For me it would be impossible to do. Once I dropped 3 dramas in a row from my ptw on one day, after watching just one episode for each hahaha

I need to do this! I've so many on hold, dropped dramas which are just there yelling at me to pay attention to…
the thing is, if someone has been watching dramas for few years, chances are their taste change. The dramas I might have dropped years ago might become my favs now (doubt that, but it's fun to try lol).
Glad you liked the article. Rather short, just wanted to share my experience with this 2nd chance challenge since i've been doing it for a year hahaha

Title The Bad Kids Spoiler
Just finished and I have a beef with one scene in the last episode. They wanted to leave the ending open for interpretation, but for me one scene made it just a big ass contradiction.

Yan Liang, Yue Pu and Chen Guan Sheng are either dead or alive depending on what the viewer want to believe. BUT one scene just ruins this ambiguous ending for me. The idea of the 3 being dead works only if after their death we witness them interacting only with each other or Chao Yang (since he was the center of the plot and we view the conclusion from his perspective/narrative). Then, as viewers we can truly question: are they alive and well or are they dead and Chao Yang is the lone survivor.

But then they do show us Yan Liang give the statement in the police station to two other cops except from Yue Pu. Including the two character who we are suppose to question if they are alive or not, interacting with other DEFINITELLY alive people just ruins it for me a bit.

It's like with Six Sense, by the end you like "holy shit, he truly did not interact with anyone except from the kid", but here it's another way around "but... they interacted with other people than the main lead".

With overall such a well constructed show, I just don't get why that scene was included. It was literally maybe 5 seconds of content. But instead of building up to the ambiguous narrative, it was straight false narrative, and it cheapened the ending for me a bit.
