Romantic relationship are based (or at least long term) should be based on friendship. Liking the chemistry between two male characters and wishing there would be a romantic love line between them is not disgusting. It has nothing to do with BL, since lgbtq relationships do not exist in a bubble of BL content. There are gay relationships in "regular" shows.

We are all aware that China is homophobic and this ship will never be a canon. China would rather keep an already produced dramas in basement to never release than let people view a content that might even hint gay relationships. We are aware. That's the sad reality. Which does not change the fact that many people do enjoy the chemistry between Ben and Sa Xin and think they could have romantic potential and it is not disgusting.

By that logic, everyone who ever shipped FL with SML is also disgusting, because from the start we know who the FL will end up with and wanting her with someone else is "disgusting".

People be acting as if shipping two characters that are not canon romantically linked is a new thing, when it's been part of watching dramas since forever - whenever people shipped a straight or gay relationship.

Amazing, how it's ONLY an issue when people ship two people of the same gender. But when people talk about great chemistry between female and male characters in dramas and how they wish there was a romance between them, no one criticise shit 🙂

as i replied to Riakrazy, Jun Seo sold himself in a completely different light on their first date. She was into the caring, empathic and manly dude he was on their first date, not the "bro" dude who barely pays attention he was on their second. Jeong-su who is not interested romantically in You-jin still treated her with more care during their date than Jun Seo did towards Si An. Like, if he is not an empathic and caring person who pays attention, why act this way on their first date ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The issue is - on their first date in the Paradise he sold a completely different picture of himself. He was caring, empathic and paid attention to her. And now he treats her more like a buddy. He was interested in him in the first place because of how he acted on that first date, for him to do 180 in second.

The same way he rightfully should not change for her, she should not change for him. He is a person who does not need to receive nor show much confirmation of emotional support, she is one that wants a lot. They are not wrong as individuals, they are just wrong for each other. But how you framed it was as if she was all wrong and Jun Seo is this truest realest person ever. When he is not.

Oh I agree with the romance. I don't think there was any issue with chemistry itself, but it was for sure one of the more underdeveloped elements of the plot.

He had to play like 8 different characters that at the end form a cohesive picture of one person and he somehow managed that - impressive

It's not that obvious that the dad is not exactly the "father of the year" because they don't show him behaving bad in any way. But the fact they do not show him act in a correct manner towards her when she is being abused as a child and harassed as an adult speaks volumes.
