And here's the question - if someone every episode complimented how good and well paced the romance is, would you tell them to focus on other aspects too, and that their compliments are repetitive?
Dramas are not "you either hate them or love them". Some are fine, end up being 6.5-7.5 type of a watch and it's all good. This drama is like that for me. I like some things, I dislike some things.
The same way people can compliment the drama about one and the same thing after every episode, I can criticize it about one and the same thing if I don't see the improvement.
For me the case is simple - if the drama is not about the family and it's just a rom-com, don't add family as one of the main genres ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Then I would just not pick it up in the first place and we would not be here. I'm complaining because the product I was buying is different from the description given.
and I'm repeating the same thing every episode, because there is not improvement in that aspect in every new episode ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It does matter to me, because for me him being a loving single father was one (not the only one, but one of for sure) of the reasons I even started this show. The same way people who only care for the romance can ignore all the other aspects and how they are underdeveloped, I can criticize the lack of the development in the area I am interested in. It's that simple.
This episode FL interacted more with his daughter than he did 🤡
Okay, but like... I think that's what kind of bothers me - it's a drama that exists without time restrictions. It feels like they have 48 hours in a day. We never know when he starts work, when he ends it, when he sees his child, how much. He is FL's assistant, and nanny, and cook, and cleaner. He is basically an assistant to all the other workers too... and their therapist. But apparently he is also a perfect father... and I'm like... when?
Okay to the episode.
First of all I kind of checked out of the main romance. That said, the dinner scene was still cute as fuck. I just barely feel any chemistry going on.
On the other hand, I like the interactions between second leads and I wish they would make more of these. Kind of was hoping the dinner at ML's house would be a good opportunity 😅
Also crime to end the fucking episode on the literally best scene lol That whole morning and elevator shit was gold. I only have one question... did ML sleep on the floor next to FL? Coz... that would be weird and inappropriate as fuck 🤡
Anyway, now that she know who is his daughter and all that, I hope they will focus a bit more on the "family" part of the show 🙃 I mean it is literally one of the main genres listed on Korean sites 😭😭😭
I do feel like I'm watching it more for fun entertainment than the romance 🙃
The original story (not kdrama, the webtoon) had extremely impactful message avoue the effects of toxic relationships and how it can psychologically affect you long after you "moved on". The ending was one of the best but also saddest things I have read as a woman. Korean version already botched it so bad, but the more I read about japanese one, it seems like the completely threw away original story and message and created just... completely different story 😭
I have no issue with everyone keeping their opinions open. I do get annoyed when someone tries to find excuses rather than being honest - I want to get to know everyone and then make decisions. Yes, I'm talking about Jeong Su. Him picking 4 girls was not an issue. Him coming up with all the excuses and when he chatted later with Si An I just rolled my eyes so hard 🙃
Tae O is a huge surprise, he is winning me over 😅🤡
On the other hand Dong Ho whom I liked the most first impression is giving me off vibes. He talks a lot trying to excuse and rationalize his decisions and changing his mind. When he does not have to. Do you fuck up often that your first instinct is to makes excuses even when the situation does not need it? Or he has some trauma from past relationships, when he had to explain every decision he makes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They sold the show in a specific way. I am making criticisms based on what the show was supposed to be and how the characters were introduced. On namu wiki 가족 (family) is literally one of the genres listed 😅
Maybe it bothers me so much coz I know a bit about child psychology and development and I cannot just ignore the kid in the plot. Whenever there is an evening romantic moment between the leads I keep thinking how he should be with his kid now.
the writers made a big deal out of his situation with his kid in eps 1-2, no one can now blame me for taking it seriously ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Like, is this quality drama or silly rom-com with mediocre writing?
