Episode 27:

As expected, Fu Tian is a bad guy lol. The play he and LQQ watched together seemed too personal as he cried. It seemed like LQQ is the one who forgets. It made me think that is he LQQ’s father? Or friend? Since during LQQ reminisce scene in episode 3 when hes a little kid, he is searching for his father at that time. Also, when Fu Tian asked him to translate the War Demon ancient text, its another damning clue as we know LQQ’s father married his mother for War Demon’s secrets. And now since Fu Tian is a doctor, he probably the person behind the liquid potion that they drink to level up instantly. Since War Demon has longer life than most people, he tried to unlock the secrets of immortal life? So many questions!

This drama just got better and better. With all the ethics, moral & social commentaries and all the themes and not to mention the compelling mysteries that can be traced back since the beginning, its really one of the best written XianXia dramas in recent years. This drama actually managed to be different. 😃

You nailed her timelines perfectly..My girl is very good and people who omits some key details about her thinking…
People expect most FLs to be perfect Mary Sue who is overpowered. They cant accept strength in different form. ☹️

Xin Mei’s Wins & Loses:

Wins: Killing rampage and kill 4 corrupt officials, kill Mr Gui with cultivation level more than her, fighting 3 immortals at the capital, discover Li Si identity, break away from Li Si kidnapping, found the person who store her jade pendant, lecture sects leaders about immortality pills and how its killing the people, discover Lu QianQiao’s identity, helping 3 Wushuang guys get away from Bai Zongying, helping Wushuang people to enter the library, argument with masked guy about immortality sects, levelel up 2 stages to Nascent Soul level.

Loses: Curse of Utterrance, fail in a match with Xhi Xuanzi, getting poisoned by Xi Xuanzi.

I think our FL is doing fine despite her limited power. She still kickass in different ways.

I think its ok if she didnt win all the time. We dont need perfect Mary Sue characters in all dramas. Sometimes, its okay to root for FL with limited power since she still kiskass in different ways and achieve the impossible.

I really like Jiang Ji. She's so resolute in her own convictions and beliefs. Despite them being kinda messed…
Jiang Ji literally follow blindly without thinking what is right and what is wrong. While Mei actually use logical thinking to ask everything around her. And once she found the answer, she sticks through and fight for it even if it meant its a road rarely taken. Its an admirable quality to admit you are wrong and learn from it. Its not hot and cold. Its ignorant and later enlightened.

The fight scenes are so great, but why is the story declining? Like, I wish the female character leveled up and…
She literally leveled up 2 levels in yesterday’s episode to Nescent level from Foundation Building and fighting a Void level immortal.

Lol I thought Lu QianQiao is already grey enough. Many of his motivations, despite appear as nobel usually has some selfish reasons behind it. Like how he helped the lil Emperor to the throne. The lil Emperor said its with filth and dirty tricks. Then how he turned blind eyes to the corrupt officials who used straw for the damp which later caused thousand of death of commoner people. Also, when he wipe Mei’s memory. Its to hide his identity as a war demon. I thought these layers are enough to show how complex he is. Which explain his origin as a hybrid war demon + human.

Episode 25 & 26:

I thought todays episode is super intense! I actually dont know if they are going to win since the immortal sects are everywhere. And those books! How I weep at the lost knowledge. 😭 I think the scene that impact me the most when one if the scholar asked the other scholar how many books he had memorise and went ahead to use his body as shield so his friend who had memorise more can be alive. 😢

The thing with immortal sect is that the writer wants to show us that most of them just follow instructions without asking and the dangerous of it. They just being informed that these are enemies and they are demonic cultivators without actually checking that fact whether its correct or not. When Bai Zhongying tried to ask a few episodes back, look at the argument he got about people eating rice and choke, does it mean rice is bad arguments. Thats where Mei is different. She ask questions and try to understand and that lead her to leveled up 2 levels to Nescent Level with that conviction and realisation.

I adore how the writer keeps bringing up this questions all over the drama. It made you think and connect. 😀

Well explained, is just that I'm not in camp of that human thing, turning to human whilst being surrounded by…
I think he address this thing very well in his narrative. Before he wants to become human, he didnt have any enemies.

Thats why he told Mei that before he did his blood transfusion, he needs to kil Xhi Xuanzi first to eliminate all threats.

And his convo to Xuanzi today before killing him sealed that sentiments. He knew he cant be human when there are so many evil people in the world.

It will spiral to the worst by the end esp the FL character. This is one of very few dramas that I hate watch just to see how low can the writer go. And she didnt dissappoint. 😂😂

Episode 23 & 24:

Another 2 excellent episodes. I thought A’Sheng totally unhinged in the battle against her father. The way she stab herself and also stab her hand, she really wont stop at anything. She truly unhinged in a good way. 😆

And I feel bad that I thought she might loose her hands on purpose when Jinlun falls as she value her father’s death more than Jinlun’s life. Well, I hope Im wrong in this.

And our sweet couple getting cockblocked by A’Sheng is a mixture of hilarious and sad lol. Im glad LQQ called A’Sheng on it. Im one of the camp that dont think A’Sheng will go bad. She’s just jealous that now she gonna share Mei with QQ. While she is indeed manipulative, she after all wants the best for her sister.

I just love how Mei just called Lu Daren ‘Qian Qiao’. I like how bold she is and what I like the best is how QQ said he will be human but all she care is whether he can withstand the heart transplant ritual. I love on how little details like this shows Mei’s state of mind. She always want to live a quiet and peaceful life thats why the decision to be a mortal with QQ is easy for her to make.

Cant wait for todays’ episodes. The way the drama is structured just makes everything so addicting. I bet we gonna get another epic battle at the library today.

The first 4 is super standard1. Qin Cultivation2. Foundation Building 3. Golden Core4. Nascent Soul ... the rest…
I got this list from the drama. In the restaurant scene after LQQ just resurracted from death by thousand cuts. Its in the conversation by commoners.

Ok, since Im worried with LQQ losing his power 🤣, this is the cultivation levels:

—-

1. Qin Cultivation
2. Foundation Building (LQQ’s future 🤪 after blood transfusion 😂😭)
3. Golden Core
4. Nascent Soul (His current level after bone removal)
5. Void
6. Soul Projection (Probably his original level)
7. Integration
8. Great Completion
9. Tribulation Crossing
10. Deity Transformation

—-

When he said he fallen from above, it meant his cultivation levels. Since he did reached those high levels, he said he also got a few tricks down his sleeve despite he might only Foundation level soon. 🥲

I just want to say that Im glad he got his skin burned so at least the poor little him got to sleep after that. I think the fact he managed to feel the pleasure of rest and sleep is the reasons why his desire to become human is more stronger than other War Demons.

We also learnt now on why its only him interested to be human since other War Demon associate with becoming human as losing their power. Makes sense on why only him interested to do this transformation.

You are just episode 13. You probably will die of anger by the time it ended. Too many illogical plots. 🥲🥲

Episode 21 & 22

Probably my fave episodes so far. I love our couple. I love their red and turqoise costumes. 😆 I love the umbrella scene where they walked during raining. And I love all their conversations — about LQQ background, his dream and wishes. And the painting where he drew the sun from the color of her lipstick? That is an amazing scenes. The whole thing is.

I need to mention this that I truly find Mei a great character — very well written, with depth and most of all consistent. The moment she can guess LQQ’s identity, she wants to see him. When she sees him in the spiritual sea and he still refuse to tell her the whole truth, she asked for his location. Why? So that she can test him with the tamarind sweet. And just like that. She knew about his identity. She asked all the right questions and true enough the act of erasing her memories is the biggest clue to his secret since the fact he went all that length to make her forget is something very suspicious.

While her hatred towards War Demon is understandable, all she needs is ONLY one day to gather her thoughts. Her confrontation with LQQ and later reconciliation is what seemed like what a normal functional relationship between couples;

First, voicing out injustice.
Second, give time and space to the hurt party to calm down.
Third, talks things through and reconcile.

And thats what we got in this episode. 😀😀 A simple solution when both our ML and FL have high EQ that use communication as tools.

Why I said Mei as being consistent? Since that is what she is. Gentle, soft, full of compassion yet when she sees injustice, she will be badass and never holds back. We see it happen again and again in this drama. Despite she is a rebel of the immortal sect, when she sees human paint the immortal sects in bad lights despite they are doing the right thing, she is there to give them her piece of mind. Some poeple might say why it is easy for her to forgive LQQ but that is what her nature is. Remember the bunny demon that she saved? She applied the same concept on why she understood the reasons LQQ needs to lie regarding his identity. It shows that she can be objective despite she is hurt and emotional.

We are shown that the blood lust seems to be an involuntary madness, probably part of their curse. I think once…
Yes, the blood lust mania is part of the 5 curse. ML seemed to have a hard time everytime he is being attack with that mania but it seemed he never gives in to that lust.

Thats the question that I have been asking as well. But I think it explained in yesterday episode that its only will apply to him. Other war demons dont want to be human since it meant losing their power.

Yes, the blood lust mania is part of their curse. It made them go crazy and ask for blood. Its indeed involuntary.

Yes, it is reveled in episode 18 that he is half war demon during the flashback scene of his mother said: ‘You are not human and also not a war demon’. From then on, its pretty much confirmed that his mother is war demon while his father is a human.
