Ohh this is so interesting! And ngl that I lol when I see you rated Suki na Hito ga Iru Koto 4.5/10. It must be so bad X'D

Usually, I rated shows below 4 when it have bad / awful message. Or just badly written dramas with uneven plots and doesnt make sense characters.

Hi!! I've started watching this because of you and I want a spoiler, im on eps 41 Can you spoil me who is the…
Yes yes the drama is very addicting but the at the same time it made me so happy watching it. Its my go to drama everytime any other dramas let me down. I always like; 'Fan Xian would never!!!' everytime I encountered character in other dramas doing dumb decisions haha. And everytime I made a rewatch, I will realize all this little and small nuanced actions did by the characters which make me appreciate the script even more. ♥ The foreshadowing is a lot and it amazed me so much how both the writer and the director incorporate it in the drama -- like every action means something. Its really amazing. :D

And you are right! The drama is so funny. Their humour is definitely up to my alley. I was in stitches everytime Fan Xian and Wang Qinian are together. And luckily I watched enough Cdramas to understand some of the jokes that didnt transpire well with subs. Like Dabao calling Fan Xian 'Xiao Xian Xian' which is a double blow to him or Fan Xian made fun of Gong Dian's name 'Lou Gong' which means husband in Chinese. I really appreciate all the jokes lol

I think another drama that is very close to NIF and JOL would be Sword Snow Stride. IMO, its the best C-drama for last year hands down. It also starred Zhang Ruoyun as the lead with the same writer of JOL penned down the script. The chess game in SSS is amazing as well.

Wah 6 episodes in one night? Congrats! :D :D

I doubt he died since we have 2 seasons after this. :D My guess is that it is his plan with Yan Bingyun (plus, Yan Bingyun is listed as his allies in the novel) to fool the 2nd Prince. Fan Xian is very unexpected so I'm sure that it is his plan all along. One thing he never did is disappoint us.

Episode 41 will revealed who is his parents. ^^' I know sometimes the curiosity is killing you but this type of drama not knowing spoiler is the best as you will get surprised the same way as the character when they learned the truth. The foreshadowing is a lot in the drama so all that lead to the final truth so the fun part is guessing together with Fan Xian and decipher who is the real mastermind behind the whole thing. Like for an example the real bad guy behind the assassination attempt at Nailing street, if we already know the spoiler since the beginning, the fun wont be there anymore -- the brilliance of how that particular character was constructed to fool our eyes will be lost -- his acting, his motives, the way he behaves, etc. You are 6 episodes from finishing you will know everything in 6 episodes. :D

Yes, but Yang Yang projects are high profile and big budgeted with famous female leads. But we cannot said the same thing about Xiao Zhan. :( At this rate, Xu Kai will have an even better filmography than him which he already did atm with Yangmi drama & Royal Feast drama on the way. And not to mention Yibo already much better than him project wise. If I were him, I will be nervous lol

I think he need to agree and find time to be in JOL2. Zhang Ruoyun had amazing public reputation and JOL2 reputation gonna expose him even more to the general public. He need to be wise in choosing his next dramas.

Interesting, any romance?
China is very strict in their censorship. Things about reincarnation, travelling to the past or future, change of histories are not allowed in their script. So in JOL, instead of showing Fan Xian just reincarnated in a body of a baby, they made it clear that its only fiction -- that the whole drama is just a fiction written by a university student.

In the novel, he actually reincarnated from the future/past in a body of a baby. I dont want to spoil but thats the gists of it. But due to China censorship, it got changed a bit about this part -- it is told as a novel written by a student. It's actually one of the biggest secret in this drama so I advise you to find it out yourself because I didnt expect it as well lol. Because after the revelation, all those future knowledge inconsistencies made sense that Fan Xian himself even wondered whether he is just living in a fake/dream world.

They are arranged to be married by the Emperor and they happen to fall in love with each other without knowing each other identities at the beginning of the drama. At one point in the drama, Fan Xian said to his sister whether he would he be so lucky that the girl he falls in love with is the one that he's going to get married but his sister said its impossible as Wan'er is sick. They are fiancee in this season as they only get married in the 2nd season.

I know a lot of people are not satisfied with the ending but to me its a clear cut good ending. The 2ML told him that she wont be back, but the ML understood her more and knew she will. In the last scene, it shows the ML finally found the FL again at the migratory bird house that he build for her and smiles. In the narration to himself, he said;

''If you appear before me once again, I won't let you run away.
Because all those missed opportunities at age 18, were for our better reunion today..''

which is a clear indication that they are together at the end.

8/10 - This is the type of drama where the journey is worth it. Somehow a very realistic story about one-sided love. You don't cried yourself to sleep every night or feel constantly hurt but you are just happy to be beside him and present in his life. During the duration of the drama, both the FL and ML always have great relationship with each other as they are the best of friends. So its actually a really nice story on how they handle the trials and turbulences in their lives and their never ending support and trust to each other during the different points of their lives.

The FL is really great, smart, kind and had amazing strength and personality so you cant help but to root for her all the way through. And the ML is really nice, sweet, loyal and overall really awesome and had always treat the FL the best even when he may realize his feelings a bit late but once he knew, he loves her his whole heart and she is always his #1.

8/10 - I actually really enjoy this. It is really fun and the cases are interesting and the 3 of them had really awesome chemistry with each other. The inside jokes are the best, clever and sometimes very informative and it is the funniest when they are together in their private time. Zhang Ruoyun looks really really handsome as Dr. Qin ♥ and I love how calm he is in everything. This is a perfect drama to watch to release stress since it just make you feel entertained and happy.

which version is available on prime video? so does the uncensored one has way too much violence or sex?
There is no violence or sex. When they mean graphic -- the corpse. Like in the first episode, they did show the hands after being fried in oil and other disgusting stuffs. And in the other episode, a badly wet corpse with lots of worms....

There is romance (little) but its not the main theme of the drama. But I personally really like the romance though. Wan'er is portrayed as someone wickly, soft but at the same time smart. And she is more like his strength rather than his weakness -- she is like the buffer for Fan Xian against the world and the one he goes for solace when he is having a hard time.

Ahh this one. Its the only one in the series that I watched lol. Zhang Ruoyun was perfect as Dr. Qin. And the chemistry between the 3 of them are the best! :D

Interesting but the reasons given by fans doesnt really make sense either. Young Chinese actors churned out like 3 dramas per year while those who started late as actor (and find popularity later in their career) also churned out around 2/3 dramas per year. I just didnt understand Xiao Zhan's case tbh.

I really thought because he is so busy with ads, he didnt have time to act that much anymore. I bet he's being offered many roles but he's being very selective. You know, like South Korea actors, once they hit it big, they only release like 1 drama per 2 or 3 years. I thought Xiao Zhan is like that as well.

IDK, for someone like Xiao Zhan who hit it big after The Untamed, I expect him to be more active in dramas. Even Yibo churned out more frequent works than him. Plus, I wonder whether he will be back for Joy of Life 2? I mean for a masterpiece like JOL, I even willing to be an extra lol.
