Actually, Chaiyan's actions & behavior doesn't bother me. He's pretty reasonable to me. Piak has been crazy prior to Gee entering the picture. How many actresses has she fired being accused of messing with Chaiyan? It's just Piak was able to win over those other girls that were "really" trying to seduce Chaiyan. With Gee, Piak really has nothing to use against her so her childish tactics don't work. He does try to reconcile & they were happy for a brief moment, but Piak lied again. Like Chaiyan said, Piak won't be satisfy until she finally catches him cheating. Because every time she fails, she's reminded that he is not the bad person she thinks he is. She has this false image of him & she desperately wants to prove herself right that she doesn't realize she's hurting their marriage. Chaiyan giving in & distancing himself from Gee will not solve their problem. Piak will just move on to another girl. Until Piak accepts that she's the problem, no matter what Chaiyan does will not fix their marriage. Chaiyan has been very reasonable & understanding, giving Piak time to repent instead of forcing her to since talking to her when she's angry only escalates the fight. Also, she belittles Chaiyan saying he's nothing without her. The girl thinks she owns him!
What seems to be rape is justifiable, but having consensual sex with some man, the woman is labeled as a slut. And the worst is that they limit their kisses, but they have rape in almost every lakorn.
But truth be told I'm a little disappointed at how they handled the sex scene in this remake, I was hoping both parties would be completely consensual doing it. While it's not like he physically forces her to do it, she did it under duress to repent for her "crime". You get my drift? I would've much preferred for them to have sex simply because they had feelings for each other.
But then again, this comes back to the nature of Thai dramas, because "nang'eks can't sleep with someone willingly because then she'll be a slut". Like in KC everyone thinks Jee is the biggest hoe-bag for having an "affair (in Piaks imagination)" with Chayan and totally slut-shame her for it but Chayan barely gets judged for it. Don't get me wrong people get angry at him for it, but they don't seem to correlate it to his moral character like they do Jee. Jee is deemed the evil homewrecker but Chayan is just the guy who "understandably" falls for the guiles an immoral woman. I know some lakorns have consensual sex but its rare or they were drunk while doing(again to eliminate the slut factor).
I'm guessing this KC rape scene would probably be different to the old KC but in the old version...Gee's mother goes to Thit's office offers him money to leave Gee alone but he refuses and said that he doesn't want money...he wants the one thing that Gee's mother loves the most (which is Gee).
Gee's mother goes to Gee's house, they get into their arguments about Thit and money (I think?). Gee's mother tells Gee what Thit wanted. Later on... drunk Gee calls Thit and agrees to spend the night with him (he thinks she's has many lovers so giving her body to him is nothing to her).
When she got to his place, she backs off the idea and wanted to leave but he grabs her and so on ....
Maybe they might follow a little bit of that or change it completely.
