what’s with the rating? even Everlasting Longing has a higher rating
Ratings on MDL are trash before drama ends, especially during the first few days it airs. I think I’m used to this at this point.
Best example? I started watching The Double when it was scored 7.8 too and let’s see how it turned out to be in the end 😅
My advice? If you enjoy the first few episodes and feel like the ratings can somehow influence your experience, just try not to check it at least for a week or two 😅 Just enjoy!

I feel like people are having those expectations because of a lot of recent costume cdramas showing MLs as ultimate green flags or simply green flags disguising themself as red ones. But I absolutely agree, it’s far away from the reality, most of man were trash back then and due to the patriarchal society they could’ve done much worse things since those were acceptable. I am really looking forward to the future development of the MLs.
I love it so far! The enemies to lovers is progressing very well since Lu Yuxiao and Wang Xingyue have an amazing chemistry, as expected ;)) and I really like the pacing of the story - neither too slow or too fast - with this amount of characters I am kinda happy I can take some time to digest the dynamics. I was afraid I will dislike their chaotic mother but seems like it's the opposite, I enjoy her character a lot.
I am not a die hard fan of historical life dramas but this one has me hooked. Having so many main characters is probably helping, I don't feel I will be easily bored - fingers crossed for that!
I'm kinda moved. That's the first time I can watch an ongoing Chinese drama with the subs in my mother language (Polish) AND it's following the VIP schedule. For me, that's a historical moment. Netflix, WELL DONE!

I am following iQIYI on several platforms and it seems they're focusing on promoting TWOT right now. Makes sense, Love of the Divine Tree will probably be next in line (I can't wait for Deng Wei's ML role, too!).
I was also in a drama slump for months, this one got me hooked from the very first minutes of ep1. Can’t wait for the next weekend!
