Yeah I saw it too. But like the editing and cutting was a bit abrupt, going from the wall, to the bed, to a black screen. I guess this leaked uncut version is slightly smoother with the editing, idk 🤷🏻♀️
I do think that IQIYI still has the whole uncut original version of S&L, they just chose to not air it because of censorship....GIVE US THE WHOLE LOT😭. Is it too much to ask for? The wedding scene should've at least made it...why'd they have to cut the episodes short 😔. Release it on blu-ray, release it on IQIYI international. Whatever it is, just give it to us!!!
Why do I have a feeling they cut a lot of the making out to doing the deed in 26 just because of the way it’s…
I honestly find it annoying. There are a heavy amount of dramas out there who have much more 'scenes' that somehow passed censorship, but suddenly because it's Speed and Love, they just had to censor EVERYTHING?? I would understand if it's a costume drama, but for a modern drama which is based on romance, this is strange....😔 and annoying
May I ask, why did they deleted the wedding scene?
I honestly don't know why they did considering how important it was. But it was definitely something to do with the deletion of episode 30 - 40 mins of footage was cut which meant they had to squish everything in very tight. We could've gotten so much more if they had just kept the original 30😔. If you look at the original BTS videos from reuters, you can see how genuine the wedding scene was. Everyone was having the time of their lives and enjoying the moment. If we're this pissed, imagine how pissed and sad Heyu and Esther must be feeling...
This is probably one of the only novel-adapted dramas where I've seen little to no hate comments from novel readers, because don't even get me started on other dramas - novel readers would rip the drama to shreds and down-rate it so much just cause of some tweaks. I truly believe it's because we are able to sympathise with each of the characters without blaming them for their actions. I have to say, Speed and Love is definitely one of the best novel-adapted dramas I've seen so far.
First off of what I liked/have no complaints about: • They changed the original locations - instead of Thailand it was Suzhou, and instead of Australia it was Canada. • Lin Sui/Lin Luo wasn't an original character however I liked how they added him. He added an additional charm to it all and his loyalty towards JZ was something so sweet. He was willing to help with everything and I really liked how they wrote his character. • Zhao and their Mum's relationship. It was very cold in the novel and the hatred she had towards him was much more severe in the novel than here, so I'm glad they lightened it up and gave some development to their relationship. It was wholesome in the way that she accepted everything. • I'm glad they adapted Little Xin (Jin Xin) to be less of a 'little monster' than the novel. She was quite an annoying/naughty one in the novel. I really loved her character here, I just wish we got to see more of the sister relationship because it was so limited.
What I wish was adapted/WASN'T CUT 🙄: • The father-daughter dynamic between Jin Qiang and JiangMu. I wish they showed his redemption arc and how he quit being an alcoholic solely for JiangMu. The little moment in an earlier episode where she asked him to make her food at night had me in tears. After all, that was her hero and is her dad. • I wish they never deleted any of the IMPORTANT scenes....what a pity. They were some of the most awaited scenes. The wedding, the yacht kiss. The other little moments which we witnessed being filmed (from reuters) but were never released. • I wish they never deleted an episode - moreover, I wish they at least made it 32 episodes so that more things could've been covered. A single episode being deleted has become very noticeable in the editing and cutting of the later episodes. I just hate how they deleted the wedding. Imagine how XinXin and Heyu feel about it...😔
Also, frick China's censorship. I've seen much more explicit things in other dramas but cause it's Speed and Love, they just had to delete things....If China doesn't want the uncut scenes and the full uncut episodes, just give it to IQIYI international. We will happily embrace everything 😭🙏
Is it true that it's originally 30 eps and they cut it down to 29?
yeah...unfortunately. Idk why they did it. They cut out 40 mins of footage which definitely screwed up the final edits of the later episodes. They cut out quite a few important scenes as well as what was supposed to be their 'wedding night + ceremony' which is very sad
An instant 10/10 for me. What a beautoful way to end 2025 <3.
However, I just have a little rant: I love SAL so so much, but damn. One episode cut really ruins it. 40 mins of content deleted. The wedding scene cut. The kiss scenes abruptly cut. @iQIYI if you want a life, reupload the drama again with the FULL original 30 episodes 😡. If we as the viewers are this mad, I can imagine how mad Heyu and Xinxin are. Filming for over 4 months, waiting for over 8 months for it to air, just for it to end in 10 days, with poor editing between VERY IMPORTANT scenes😡. Anyways, thank you Speed and Love for everything. Please, let Esther and Heyu collaborate again😭🙏🙏
If the uncut scenes/the full uncut episodes are too much for China, just give them to us. I will happily spend my money if it means I can get the full original drama with the uncut scenes that aren't abruptly edited and deleted.
Edit: What a pity that of the 2 dramas of Esther's that aired this year, both were treated so poorly. First, Ski Into love had like 13 episodes cut off abruptly and now Speed and Love cutting 1 episode, which led to the drama having very abrupt cuts and editing. LinYi and Esther had to fight sicknesses and the cold season to film Ski into love just for it to be poorly managed. Then Heyu and Esther spent over 4 months, working to achieve the best result for Speed and Love, just for most of the important scenes to get cut.
As far as I can remember, they cut: • The yacht kiss (when they were on holiday with the family) • The WHOLE wedding..... • That one scene where they were both wearing blue clothes and riding in a car (shown on the 8500 heat index poster) • One of the very first scenes that they both filmed together, where Esther was wearing a pink dress and felt Heyu's forehead: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSPnBGWQB/ https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSPnBsfak/ • Whatever this scene was: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSPnBp44J/
God, we could've had the wedding of the century (along with The Best Thing's wedding) if they hadn't had CUT IT ALL OUT😡
I gotta hold everything till tomorrow as it's so late where I am, but as far as I can gather: • At 10pm (China time) we're having an after party? (don't know what it is but maybe the cast will do something? idk, but I'm excited yet feeling so bittersweet because I don't want it to end😭) • Some are saying their will be a bonus chapter/episode? Is it confirmed? How do we know + if so, where and when can we watch it?
With the recent live with the cast, I don't know why iqiyi was unable to arrange them to film hi6 or any other variety show, especially with Esther and Heyu being in the same area at the same time for awhile (with him spending her birthday together & appearing live together on the live a few days ago and today's recent live). Honestly such a waste... If we do get that bonus ep, they BETTER include the wedding scenes because they are really important!!!
No I could never🤭. I'm just skimming through the last episode to see how they wrapped it up. But it seems like they've just completely cut out the whole wedding..... I'm upset, especially because of how long we've waited to get everything, just for them to cut it short....😡
There's no way they cut out the whole wedding....what is wrong with them?? why didn't they just give us the full 30 episodes WITH the whole wedding?? Why are they so annoying with the editing and why did they have to cut so many scenes?!!!
Currently catching up on the mountain of episodes that I've been holding on for awhile now. Just before the finale finally drops, I just wanted to thank everyone for being here and supporting Speed and Love, especially those who never gave up on the drama, Esther, and Heyu, and stayed by their sides through all the rough hatred they had to sadly endure. This is literally the worst smear campaign I've ever seen, and it's just because Esther been doing her job?? God, give this poor girl a break. I'm thankful that she's been able to have Heyu, her fans, S&L staff and team, and the S&L community beside her during this distraught time.
Could never imagine anyone else to portray these characters as well as Esther and Heyu did. They brought Jiang Mu and Jin Zhao to life while embodying these characters as their own. I really do hope they maintain their close bond, even after the promotions of S&L end because man. I don't think I've ever witnessed such a perfect cp. They match one another's freak so much😭!! Cdrama directors, listen to our prayers and cast these two in another project together (more preferably, not under IQIYI again because of their nonstop sabotage to this drama....😒). Despite all the sabotage and neglected promotions, S&L has truly proven to become an unforgettable gem, making history: • The drama #SpeedAndLove also becomes the first modern idol drama to unlock Diamond 3 status on Weibo Super Topic, in which only three dramas have ever reached Diamond 3, two of which star Yu Shuxin. The drama has also surpassed an 8,600 heat index.
Whatever it is, I hope everyone is able to hold this pairing deep in their hearts!!
I'll be honest, I haven't had any cdrama hit this hard for me since TFF and TBT earlier this year. This was the most awaited modern cdrama for a reason 😌, and I can happily say that S&L has topped it for me. What a way to end 2025, the most beautiful year of modern cdramas <3
I'm unwilling to say goodbye after being here since last November when these two were announced as leads, so you WILL be seeing me rewatching this drama nonstop till the day I die 😭!! ARGHH!! I'm excited to see more happy moments, but I don't want to see it end!!!!
A reminder: Please remember to rate each episode after watching with HONESTY. We worked so hard to push up the ratings from 8→8.5, just for some stupid asses to constantly bring it down again. Most international watchers use MDL as a source for their decisions to watch a drama so it's important that the ratings aren't misleading 😔🙏. Once again, thank you so much for these past 1 and a half weeks <3
A reminder: Jin Zhao is a pretty complex character (as per what Heyu himself has said) who tends to keep things to himself in order for others to live peacefully: "Jin Zhao is a very complex character, layered and extremely challenging to portray, the first time I read the script, I felt that if jinzhao appears “tragic” on the surface, then the first half of his life is actually spent trying desperately to tear off the label of “tragedy” that reality placed on him, forcing himself to become stronger. This struggle runs through the entire character, and when it comes to how to present him, I think the core lies in finding the character’s emotional anchor."
"From my perspective, jinzhao is someone who is repeatedly crushed by fate, yet has to piece himself back together and continue fighting, no matter how the external environment changes, his core remains unchanged, his struggle toward the light, his protection, his self redemption, these are the most certain things from beginning to end."
Someone has pointed out how his MBTI must be INFJ, and as an INFJ myself, yes I couldn’t agree less. His actions and love language screams Infj - silent yet affective and loving. He puts Mumu first and is willing to sacrifice whatever it takes in order for her to live a peaceful life (even if it means sacrificing their love). He’s protective and can’t bear to see any of his loved ones face adversity. I will not defend the 6 year separation gap (because damn, it's hella long and the novel was 7 years), but please take time to understand his instincts 😭. I will take no Jin Zhao slander! The yearning in the novel never stopped, even after they mended their relationship, so it was really tragic!! I'm excited to see that elevator scene. I'm ready to feel the angst pour out 😭!!!
It took us SO LONG to get the rating back from 8 to 8.5 just for people to mess with them again....😔. Please give it some time, the next few episodes will hopefully mend the wounds 😭!!!!
Also, damn. The OST is so good!!!! When a drama's OST slaps so hard, you know for a fact that the drama itself is worth the hype and set for success!! Congrats Speed and Love for being the first ever modern cdrama to reach Diamond 3 in popularity rankings!!!
I hope we see Jin Zhao POURING his heart out in the next episode or so because I need him to show her his yearning and how much he's been longing to see her 😭. After reading the novel and watching the drama, I will empathise with Jin Zhao through everything, thick and thin, but I need to see him pull SOMETHING to really win her back!! (is it just me?). I'm excited to see how his explanation will run because I'm ready to feel a sense of relief after all this madness 😭
(P.S You'll never be seeing me moving on from this drama AT ALL!! I'll be stuck rewatching it on repeat for the next few years😭. At least we'll have Shine on Me airing straight after, but I fear, these two will forever be stuck in my mind forever 🤧)
According to the episode guide, there are 2 episodes releasing today and another 5 tomorrow, which would make…
Every Cdrama releases an express package towards the end of the drama's airing schedule where you can pay a bit of money to watch the last few episodes early :)) For speed and love, their finale is tomorrow as they're releasing an express package (for VIP users)
We're getting the express package tomorrow and I'm not ready. I'm not ready to say good bye😭😭 This is literally the only drama that I've been longing for, for so long. From the first day of filming to now, I've grown so attached to it - Esther and Heyu are honestly a match made in heaven. Kudos to the casting director because they've become my most favourite cp. Their chemistry is so natural and they're so comfortable with one another, I hope they remain friends forever. I'm glad Esther had Heyu and the Speed and Love team by her side whilst all this chaos - especially how she spent her last 2 birthdays alongside Heyu🤧!!! ARGHHHH!!! SOMEONE GET THESE TWO PAIRED UP IN ANOTHER PROJECT TOGETHER!!! I'M NOT READY TO PART WAYS😭😭😭
I still haven't caught up with eps 17-22 because I've been waiting for everything to settle down, but I guess in my defence, I have something to hold onto for some extra days (I CAN'T MOVE ON!!!). The over-a-year-long wait was definitely worth everything that I've seen. I hope everyone continues to show a lot of love and support to Esther and Heyu afterwards because they deserve so much better and deserve all the praise for how well they embodied Jiang Mu and Jin Zhao. Speed and Love, thank you for everything😭!!!
She doesn't actually have a partner or a husband - she edited her face onto the wedding poster to trick Jin Zhao…
From the novel (though, this is pretty much all we got of his reaction - here, she revealed it to him after finding out about his injury on the hike but in the drama, it seems he'll find out himself)
"She finally understood why, in all these years of traveling far and wide, she had never found another man she could give her heart to completely. Because there would never be another man like Jin Chao in this world – someone who had protected her from childhood, from her first words and steps, through her awkward and innocent youth, to her growth into a young woman. Even when his own life was in turmoil, he had ensured her path remained smooth and peaceful.
After a long while, Jiang Mu wiped away her tears and said abruptly, “I don’t have a boyfriend, I’m not getting married, I’m not living with anyone…”
Jin Chao squeezed the water bottle, slowly raising his head to look at the same blue sky as her, his expression gradually softening."
