Agree about Ra Im I wish there were more romance drama with a hot FLs who are fashionable ,And more eccentric…
So what about fashion taste? It doesn't stop Lustdrama or others having an opinion either way, does it? Our comments don't have to be confined within the prevailing taste at the time . So ridiculous.
Intriguing start, somewhat far-fetched with two people with precognition just happening to live next door with intertwining lives. Plus a lawyer with paranormal powers? Not in my experience. I was initially irritated that just when I'm enjoying the comedy it gets really heavy, but now I'm into it, I find the mix of comedy, tragedy and supernatural enjoyable and keeps me watching. As it goes, it looks like half of Seoul have precognitive dreams. But in my opinion the big flaw in this drama is the connection between the central characters between present day and back story. It really is completely unbelievable, although everything does come together quite powerfully as between the different characters then and now. Still stretches the imagination, though. It also has a "split personality", as it can't make up its mind if it is a supernatural drama or realistic law/court drama - it starts with the supernatural element very prominent but from about half way to me this fades to the background. Also it sags in the middle with too much soppy romance. But it totally recovered as the action picked up later on, when it was edge of the seat stuff and passed the test of being not easy to stop from going on to the next episode. I also loved the comedy, like the office politics and the young brother constantly put upon by LJS. IMO LJS looks far better in casual than formal clothes. Music for the romantic scenes is good. I also have a soft spot for the villain, although he's a really nasty one, which I suppose is evidence of Lee Sang Yeob's good acting. These dramas would never work without a bad guy and the audience wanting to know how the good guy gets the better of him (if he does). The very end nice but so OTT. The idea could have carried over to another series but it was obviously packaged only for one.
Bizarre, wistful little tale. I found it confused and confusing, which maybe figures since the theme is where identity lies - how do we see ourselves and others, does the face fit the mind or vice versa, do we see what we want to see, what's the reality? As the heavily plugged quote says: "The essential is invisible to the eyes". But I have to say much of the working out of the plot here was invisible to my eyes. As is usual with KBS Special Drama, the final shot of how the couples ended up neatly sums up the message of the story. 8/10 for trying to tackle a difficult (dare I say "existentialist"??) subject , but not imho entirely successfully. Liked Choi's friend, Kwak Hee Sung.
Funny light entertainment, funny for the characters and reactions of the neighbours in a block to a weird happening. Nice twist at the end, though I sorta guessed the culprit which is shown at the very end. KBS dramas are usually good and just long enough for being watchable without getting boring.
Intelligent, powerful drama of revenge posing the question: is the act of revenge morally better than the bad act causing the revenge in the first place? with the added twist of two supposed upholders of the law (or justice? they are not necessarily the same) - a detective and a lawyer - set against each other. Both the male leads are excellent in their very contrasting characters. Joo Ji Hoon is masterly. Also the female leads (Haein and Seungha's supposed sister)and the love element play a crucial role in the story. Can't say more, would be a spoiler.Jung Dong Hwan was also notable as a menacing, machiavellian character in the background. After slowing down in the middle, which had me thinking of dropping it, this really picked up in the last third of the series and became terrifically gripping. Comparing it with the Japanese version, this is twice as long, which led to loss of dramatic tension in the middle, but giving it more space for character development and to explore the morality. Even so, it could imo still have been shorter and done so equally well. Still the quality of Greek tragedy comes across in both versions as events come full circle (watch where it ends). This drama gets really HEAVY, so be prepared for some real catharsis. For once the word drama has its real meaning. Powerful - and another reminder to me to stick with things and give them a decent run.
Prefer this to the recent version. It's a bit more believable as a school series, though just when you think it's realistic the manga unreality drops in. Story not that original but plenty of twists to keep you interested. I like the passion of Onizuka's/Sorimachi's portrayal of the character. Definitely has re-watch value for me, regardless of the ending, when you feel like some easy viewing, though serious topics are touched on too.
Liked him in Udagawachou, wouldn't know him there from this photo -nice messy hair compared with straight bangs there - I suppose they had to try and make someone not a schoolboy look like a schoolboy
It's very sweet and natural, as others have said, though Chinese productions tend to be raw at the edges and unsophisticated by Korean and Japanese standards. But they are handsome lads and the story keeps you watching, especially towards the end and the acting has a lot of passion. But where did the love triangle come from? and it's just getting interesting and with stories more than just a school drama when……….? Last episodes great BL romance but the ending…………eh?? eh??!! what happened???
