Can you pls tell me some similar dramas? (except Cloy)
oh I see.. I haven't watched any other soldier dramas besides DOTS sorry I can't really help you, but you can ask in the Recommendations forum other people might be more familiar with those and can recommend you what you're looking for ^^

Title Peninsula
Watch the first 5 to 10 minutes (On the ship). The sequence with his sister and her child when sat down, then…
Agreed, that and the last 10 mins were the only scenes I actually liked, would've rated it a 7 for those alone, rest of the movie was random nonsense lmao

I don't mind CGI but even without comparing with TTB (I like to think of these as 2 separate movies not connected to each other but just set in the same universe) the story/script was pretty bad ಠ_ಠ
The first 10 mins was decent but overall plot/character development was nonexistent with random stuff happening everywhere. Then they tried to make the last 10 minutes emotional but I didn't really care for any of the characters compared to TTB.
It's like they added the TTB name just to grab people's attention/milk the franchise.
Watch Rampant instead for a better zombie movie!

Title Healer
I was super disappointed by this drama. I had heard many people praising it, and it has like 9.7 stars on Viki.…
this may be the most accurate comment/feeling I got while watching Healer, I only got excited about it whenever the ML rescued the FL (around end of ep 4 and ep 8 elevator scene) I did like the second half of this drama better and Eternal Love is a good/melodic song it reminds me of the 2000s era.

agreed, been feeling k-drama slump during 2019-2020, I started liking less dramas, even the popular hyped ones…
exactly what? That second sentence in your other comment was rude/completely unnecessary if you actually wanted to recommend something. Yeah everyone has their own preferences not everyone likes the same popular dramas, any TV show will have fans/people who didn't like it. There are still people who find Goblin/DOTS overrated. Most MDL users or k-drama watchers are generally a fan of rom coms/slice of life dramas anyways and sometimes dramas are more hyped up/highly rated because of the actors in it.
Next time you should word your message in a nicer way if you want someone to actually watch something without putting them down for not liking your favourite dramas.

There are some on the Recommendations page here if you haven't checked out those ones already. I guess "action/romance" is the genre you're looking for that might give you the similar feelings of watching DOTS, there are a lot of threads asking for this in the Forums https://mydramalist.com/discussions/search?q=Action+romance
one of my faves would be Are You Human Too? the ML is a robot but he is also sweet/protective of the FL (who might be annoying in the beginning episodes) and the OSTs were also good in this drama.

Title A Man in a Veil Spoiler
i know that is so messed up.......................and judging by still missing 30 episode ..if YR doesnt get hardcore…
have seen a death scene of a kid in another daily drama but I felt more sad for this one. TP/MW's interactions with each other and their crying scenes felt so real to me.. can't wait for the main villains face offs against each other. SJ's mom still didn't get punished for killing that aunt's husband. She'll probably go back to villain mode as soon as the aunt/SJ dad try to meet again.

So apparently something is wrong with me if I don't follow the sheep and like those 2 dramas like everyone else? Plus almost everyone has heard of them already unless they are new to k-dramas, I don't need anyone to recommend me stuff that's already popular/well known. I dropped HP halfway, slow paced/slice of life dramas bore me, couldn't get into IONTBO even though I liked Seo Yi Je in Save Me. But maybe I should force myself to finish it just to see what the hype was all about. Meanwhile I got into lakorns last year and some unknown low rated dramas that no one talks about.

2016 was a golden era for kdrama. 2019~2020 is the worst.
agreed, been feeling k-drama slump during 2019-2020, I started liking less dramas, even the popular hyped ones still felt meh to me. I had barely any favourite dramas this year. But for some reason with “older” popular dramas I actually find them more enjoyable/memorable, like W, LOTBS, WFKBJ, Goblin, Moon Lovers, Bring it on Ghost... I had more favourites during 2016-2018 even though I still dropped or rated some of them low. I struggle to get into newer dramas nowadays the plots/scripts just don’t click with me anymore.

Title True Beauty
I was wheezing at TKEM reference.
They should've played "Gravity" at that scene xD

Title Phoenix 2020 Spoiler
watched the original 2004 version but Se Hoon didn't have a heart problem there. I wonder if he will really die in this version or they'll miraculously save him somehow. For some reason I felt like shipping Mi Ran with the driver in both versions.
I liked the original/veteran actors for Mi Ran and Lee/Seo parents more - Jung Hye Young looked friendlier/less obvious in the beginning but gives off creepy vibes later meanwhile Park Young Rin just feels like a typical obsessive bitchy 2nd FL and the old parents were a bit more likeable/realistic compared to these ones who are like your usual arrogant chaebol antagonists, plus Bok Ja's character stood out more even though she and Yeo Jin were there just for comic relief.
Seo Ha Joon is more loveable and flirty/playful than Eric Mun. Although Hong Soo Ah and Lee Jae Woo match more visually imo they both look somewhat similar (they both have big round eyes and similar face shape?)
Love that OST song "His Love For You" by Shin Jae Hong, I thought "Call Your Name" was good but this one feels nostalgic for me (I already commented about this on the original Phoenix page) it's one of the best/most memorable OST songs for me, and also since I grew up with those 90s boy bands/similar type of music.. wonder if they can make another song with similar feels to it. I wish this song could've played for Seo Ha Joon instead lol but then again the music matched the 2000s era perfectly.
I like some of the background music in this drama, hopefully they will release a BGM OST for this and A Man in a Veil.

Title Phoenix 2020 Spoiler
I was a victim of a 2004 version. The nonsense is perfect for a 100+ drama ESPECIALLY the wack af second lead…
finished the original drama now, Jung Hye Young does give off a creepier vibe than Park Young Rin here who's more obvious that she's crazy in the beginning/feels like typical obsessive 2nd FL, plus I already got used to her antagonist role in Fatal Promise. She is good at playing bitchy characters but I doubt she'll be giving me that same uncomfortable feeling from watching older Mi Ran, like with that scene in ep 18 of her laughing crazily with mismatched socks/backward clothes and that close up shot of her face turning her head glaring at Se Hoon..

Sad considering she was pretty good in her character portrayal in this and was so young!
yeah I love Seo Ha Joon's Jung Min but didn't care about Eric Mun here honestly his character is meh in comparison so I didn't care who she ended up with.. the SLS will hit me hard in the 2020 version unless they make him unlikeable later :/
Oddly I feel like in both dramas the FL actresses match more with their Se Hoon actors visually, Hong Soo Ah and Lee Jae Woo have such big round eyes lol

Title Phoenix Spoiler
I prefer Jung Hye Young's portrayal of Mi Ran, she gives off a creepier vibe here than Park Young Rin in the 2020 version who is more like a "in your face" type of bitch and the ahjumma/ahjussi actors were more relatable here while the 2020 parents felt like typical chaebol antagonists. For some reason I felt like shipping her with the driver.
Now I worry about Seo Ha Joon's Jung Min since I'm in love with his character lol maybe watching the newer version spoiled this one for me since I didn't care for Jung Min here in comparison. The way they broke them up here just so the OTP could get back together again felt weak.. last episode was boring.
Se Hoon didn't have any heart problems here either, but for some reason the writer decided to add that to the 2020 version. I wonder if he will really die there or they'll miraculously save him somehow.
Also, if this drama had 26 episodes they should've developed Se Hoon/Ji Eun's love story more, it felt pretty rushed in the beginning so I couldn't connect with them emotionally enough to care if they ended up together or not.
