While one is BL and the other M/F, both are mini dramas that involve a pair of lovers whose story ended tragically in history. Now they are reincarnated and reunited in present day, but one has changed (different personality vs. different gender). Both have a connection to cuisine (working at a restaurant vs. making wine).

Both are fantasy kdramas where actor Lee Tae Ri plays an interesting character in both. Both have bits of Goryeo era in the show.

Both MLs were brainwashed/manipulated by a father or father figure into becoming an emotionless weapon which gives the ML great power. In both, the end of the training was the ML being forced to kill his own father in order to destroy his emotions/soul.

Both flashback between the present day and their high school days eventually closing the gap between the two periods. The main leads in both constantly reminisce about the past. If you don't mind crying as I did for First Love, 20th Century Girl is a good watch but be prepared with extra tissues!
