I didn´t watched neither until the end, but it really felt similar.

-The plot is all about revenge
-We have crazy mothers and women in generel
-Both of them are alot about families and how bad they treat their children
-The Male Lead is a bit flirty with the Female Lead and kisses her forcfully sometimes
-In both the Female Lead stands behind a family member, even if they treat her like literal trash (In Fai Sin Chua it is her mother and in Hua Jai Sila her mother and sister)
-**We have a kind woman, that dies because of the mother**

Very touching drama, same plot based on the friendship of two neighbors where the female lead is going to risk everything for the teeneger boy who lives downstairs.
(Less action scene than The man from nowhere but still a lot of misteries).

It's also set during the communists era. This one has a ML that appears as a traitor in his countries eyes, but he's actually a communist spy. Like autumn cicada they are both undercover agents. They are both caught in a dangerous and complicated situation.

Main couple with a ton of chemistry. Dating in the Kitchen has the advantage of maintaining the chemistry throughout and not having too many episodes.

Although Missing You is not that dark neither abusive but still it gives some similar vibes.

In Missing You as well as in LIS the SML will do anything to keep the FL with them.

Missing You is the story of a girl who gets separated from her childhood love due to some painful incidents and misunderstanding. The SML saves her and does everything possible to keep her by his side whereas the ML tries very hard to find her and bring her back in his life.

If you are a lover of obsessive love then you will like it for sure.

If you want to go completely down the "super sexy writer woos an innocent" path, you have to check out Pornographer. These two dramas share a lot of the same vibes but Pornographer is a lot more mature.

Bungaku Shojo has the same heavy chemistry, but doesn't move quite as fast. The FL is a functioning professional and not as empty-headed as the FL in Coffee & Vanilla. Bungake Shojo also doesn't suffer from so many unnecessary plot developments toward the end.

It's the same actress and the chemistry between leads is just really sweet! MLs are always protecting FLs and very clear in their love for FLs. Most importantly, in both shows, the main couples have tons of airtime (unlike other shows where way too much time is spent on other subplots, 2nd or 3rd couples).
