Roof top prince and the best hit both are similar. The main lead both go to the present to solve a mystery.
In roof top prince, it is about a prince, who gets sent to the present to find out what happened to the princess in the past life, similar to Hyun Jae's character but to find out about his disappearance.
Both drama's have cute love story as well.

Both are about revenge. Leading man's fiancee died in an accident and the leading lady was blamed. The man also wanted to take revenge on the lady. The leading lady is also a famous actress.
Similarities that you can see in both of them:
-There is a problem in the country's ruling and at least the citizens are unhappy with it.
-There is an evil organization that is connected to the counrty's ruling.
-There is a love connected to a little duration of being together, and a parting apart with a "Remember me with this when we become together in the future again!" object.
-There is a main character who has to hide his identity with a mask.
-Full of action.
-The heroine and the main character are both brave.
-Both are historical.
-Both are very great!

From the same writer, the balance of romance/comedy and thriller is really good. And the criminals are very interesting in both of those dramas.
Both stories involve the element of time travel. They are both very moving and have similar themes.

Both of the are my sun shine and the actors are pretty much the same. One of them is just the mini series.
Same director and male lead, and an interesting female lead. All of the historical beauty in Jewel in the Palace you can find in Dong Yi.
Similar feeling. Supernatural. Human beings living together with "monsters" (people call them "monsters" because of their difference, non-humanity, no social skills, supernatural abilities). Drama, friendship and romance a bit.
Both are school dramas which have several enjoyable side characters. The Leads portray their youthful characters very well in both, even if they are actually older actors cast to portray teens.. I guess that helps with time jumps for when they are young adults and no longer students. The story in FYTWFMB also follows the characters as young adults and the drama in their close circle of friends and frenemies. Both have vibe of friendships and relationships over time. Also romance.
Boss & Me got me started on my love for Mainland dramas which lead to finding Xianxa through Zao Zanilia's Journey of Flower through to Eternal Love.
Both dramas feature male leads who are powerful and cold to start of with but when they fell for the female lead they never deviated. Ye Hua and Feng Teng were the definition of 'Laser-focused'... there wasn't even a hint of a chance for the female love rivals (not that I felt at all sorry for either)
They both acknowledge the romance and couple up very early on, none of this dragging out will they-won't-they business and work through their problems with varying degrees of maturity and success. Both happy endings too. You will fall for both dramas OTPs like a ten-ton brick.
Fabulous chemistry and solid acting. Yang Mi and Zhao Zanilia are both adorable and beautiful and most importantly THEY CAN ACT. Mark Chao is also specially amazing.
Those put off by CGI don't be, its inconsequential and the plot and characters will be what you care about. I've got to say though EL had better cast of characters (It seems like there are hundreds but I loved all of them) than Boss & Me. I watched both dramas twice each now and will probably watch EL again in the near future.
