Good but not great

While I wouldn't consider it a masterpiece, it was entertaining,
the obvious weak links were:
- the people of the plaza (one could skip all their scenes and not miss a thing)
- The over the top acting and humor, I didn't find it funny but ridiculous most of the time, even though I love comedies.
- The writing of the script felt like they started with the wanted result and then stumbled their way writing the reason or the process (why did vincenzo bother with babel? )
- Storylines that went nowhere or weren't needed. (The gold was at the end of the day just a catalyze for Vincenzo to be there when shit happens and they didn't bother giving that aubplot any substance, but we had to sit through countless scenes of them discussing or looking for that damn gold)
- Everyone but the ML is dumb and can't think for themselves, including the antagonists

For those interested in watching, the 1st 4 episodes are boring, so you should get past those before deciding if it's worth watching. The middle is really interesting and full of twists, SJK acting is on point.

Great story that failed in the end

The basics of the story are that these special forces guys (two of them) have intertwined past lives and a villain who will stop at nothing to keep them apart. Except he didn't. Spoiler: I mean, the villain literally stopped, gave up, realized that he lost and threw in the towel, but only after causing trouble and threatening to kill everyone to force Tharn to be with him. The acting was pretty good and I was very excited about the prospect of a special investigative unit, but none of that really played out correctly. There was so much potential, but nothing came of it. I mean, it only served as the backdrop for the main love story, without adding much other than the action sequences which were a little bit too scripted and badly done to be interesting. I think they threw in a bunch of pixelated male backsides just to add shock value, but all that did was make me laugh. Good to have some comedy. They had so many subplots, with no direction and no conclusion, just subplots that never gained traction. Which meant as a special investigative unit, they never really added value to the overall story. Then I waited three weeks for the free version of episode 12 just to have the overall plot with the big bad guy decide he's not bad and all's well that ends well, and the lovers have a happily ever after ... well it was just a let down. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't watch it again and the last episode was a disappointment. Overall: story was lacking, acting was good minus the action scenes, music didn't detract, but disappointing ending.

Pain!

Amongst the worst, truly! Right from the end of the first episode, it was evident that its fate was sealed and the clock started ticking towards its inevitable demise. This is a complete package of pure manufactured junk, offering no redeeming qualities whatsoever. A waste of carbon emissions as well. At a certain point, it became impossible to pick itself up from the hole it dug. The storyline was utterly unappealing, lacking any semblance of creativity or intrigue. The script itself was shoddily constructed, replete with contradictions and nonsensical elements. Every single plotline ended up being underdeveloped. The characterization was equally inadequate, with every single character exhibiting pitiful and distasteful traits. The relationships portrayed in the drama were nothing more than childish and insipid, particularly the abhorrent love triangle/square/pentagon at the center of it all.

I desperately need to to seek medical attention from a neurologist to check if I developed some kind of brain worms afterwards. I highly advice anyone reading this to stay away from the writer, Kim Ji Wan, he's built a reputation on fucking up royally so damn hard. His later projects after this one "That Sun in the Sky (2016) & The All-Round Wife (2021)" are a testament for that. My earlier points are repeated across the other projects as well.

"Where your eyes linger" is very short, honestly the only complaint I can think of is that I'd love for it to be longer. That being said, the writers and director did a great job developing the characters and the story with what time they had. I quickly came to like the characters, moreover, it was captivating to follow them as they figure out their feelings. I am definitely going to rewatch this shortly (probably more than once if I'm honest).

10/10 would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a good story.

I'd also like to add that I liked the way this was shot - everything looks great to me:)

A TV Series with Substance

If you want a tv series which you can watch with your family, this is it. I watched this with my gusband from beginning to end and he was as hooked as I am. We love the light love story which removes our stress from work. I love hiw the writer put a love story for all the characters, even for the villain! I LOVE it. What a Brilliant storyline. Thank you for all the lessons you incorporated in this tv series. No trash.

The plot twist is amazing

I accidently read a very enthusiastic good review about this movie at facebook. Which truly make me curious then, set on " i need to watch this movie" and yes i watched it!!!!!!!! Im really satisfied 100%. I've rewatched almost 5 times. So amazing the acting, and storyline. im finally a fan of kang haneul after watch this movie bcs his versatile acting blowing up here as main lead! Fun fact, when i start watching this , suddenly i feel hesitated because im scared after watching first scene of this movie . It was midnight when i watch this with my sister. This movie make me realize i love suspense and thriller genre. I enjoy romance too, but suspense and thriller is much more better. I've never watch such a good thriller movie like this before.

this might be one of the best scripts i have ever seen

first of all i just loved all of this. i began to watch because of the amazing cast, but i must say that i stayed for the plot.

this whole kdrama is just so well written? i mean... I'm sure the writer spend at least a full week acting like the characters because everything they do is so align with >who< the characters are.

and I do understand some people saying that the plot got a little obvious halfway through but I don't agree. it was clear for me after the episode 10 if it was going do be a good ending or a sad ending, but I was still so anxious in the episode 16, because the writer was always adding a suspenseful feature in the episodes,,, so everything was actually quite... fresh.

and I was also so happy that there wasn't any plot holes. even a character that bearly made an appearance in the kdrama (for example hae in's uncle) ended up receiving a development (or maybe I should say a finale).

oh! and I should also add that this story by any means focused only on the main characters... the whole cast participated a lot in the kdrama and. it. just. made. so. much. sense. really I think it was one of the best scripts I have ever seen!

the only thing bad in this kdrama was the soundtrack... no song made an impact and I mean they clearly had the money... they should have collaborated with someone of exo hahahaha

Worth the wait
The 1h30' never felt that short
Could have been a lil better with a few more romance scenes between the leads, but it was still cool
But the ending... i feel like all the great dramas fail to give a nice ending (maybe I'm just dumb and don't understand the depth of it)
Anw WORTH THE WAIT ❤️‍?❤️‍?

i really liked and disliked at the same time
although the story line was new but the romance was pale

it's about love between two normal poor people which i liked a lot
because i fed up from stories of rich people so much which was most of the time far away from being realistic

this movie was about two poor persons one of them learned how to be responsible then they depend on each other and struggling together
but i found the love story between the two main leads was really lukewarm and the romance was lackluster

i found also the end was cold

might contain few spoiler

"Meteor Garden 2018" is an engaging and captivating drama that took me on a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this remake of the classic Taiwanese drama stayed true to the essence of the original story while bringing fresh and modern elements to the table.

The storyline revolves around a group of elite college students and an ordinary girl, Shan Cai, who is entangled with the four handsome and wealthy members of the F4. The character development in this drama is outstanding, and I found myself growing attached to each member of the cast. Shen Yue, who played Shan Cai, delivered a strong and convincing performance as the feisty yet compassionate heroine. The chemistry between her and the F4 members was palpable, adding depth to the romantic subplots.

The drama's pacing was well-done, with each episode leaving me eager for more. It's filled with humor, heartwarming moments, and intense conflicts, all of which kept me hooked. The love triangles, rivalries, and friendships are beautifully woven throughout the narrative, making the characters' personal growth and relationships feel incredibly real.

One of the standout features of "Meteor Garden 2018" is the stunning cinematography. The luxurious settings, fashion, and even the subtleties of facial expressions added to the overall appeal of the series. The OST (Original Soundtrack) perfectly complements the mood and adds depth to the emotional scenes.

Though the drama occasionally borders on melodramatic, it never loses its charm. It successfully highlights themes of love, family, friendship, and societal pressures. I could relate to the character's struggles and triumphs in their personal lives and academic pursuits.

"Meteor Garden 2018" is a delightful drama that brings the timeless story to a new generation. It blends nostalgia with a fresh perspective, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre. With its compelling characters, beautiful visuals, and a well-balanced mix of drama, romance, and comedy, this series left me eagerly awaiting each new episode. If you're a fan of heartwarming, coming-of-age stories with a touch of romance, this is a drama you won't want to miss.

the main girl is annoying

i literally only watched one episode and i’m already done… the main lead is kind of annoying, due to the fact her whole personality is “kawaiii” and i thought it was weird that she thought she was better than everyone bc she was a virgin when she was 19/20 but now at 26 she’s having a quarter life crisis…

it’s not bad but it’s not that good either. nothing really pulls you in to continue watching unless you like slow build… but something tells me this is going to be reaaaaaaally slow…

i might come back to this if i’m bored and have nothing else to watch

What it is to be different

What an unusual and touching story. The loneliness and alienation felt by someone who only sees in mono can probably be well understood by anyone suffering a condition that sets them apart from the norm. For others it is a poignant insight into that loneliness.
I loved the cast and characters, which were fresh and natural.
I'm sure it would be welcomed by those who enjoyed this story, if the writers and producers felt it successful enough to expand on the plot and give us a full length drama that covered the characters' own stories that led up to their meeting, the search and investigation into Yeon Woo's mother and the evolving relationship between Yeon Woo and Yoo Han.
The 'R' rating is a mystery to me. I get that a same sex couple may be taboo, but the content really didn't warrant it. Gay relationships should be seen as a natural part of life in this day and age, especially in a progressive and modern country, and when it is portrayed as delicately as this.
Trigger warning for attempted suicide.

Such a refreshing show

If you love Extraordinary You, you will really enjoy this show.

The show itself doesn't carry a heavy plot but rather somewhat mild plot as it deals with bullying issues and the consequences of it. The characters played by the actors were really executed well. AND YES, Cha Eun Woo's acting is not stiff as his past characters so I really enjoyed him playing this character. This drama touches a lot on friendship and family which may teach a lesson to viewers. As for the main plot of the FL's character dealing with looking 'ugly' bare face, the drama reveals at the end her courage to overcome these insecurities which I think is very important to the whole drama overall. ALSO I love the small cameos from the Extraordinary You cast. It was such a cute and nostalgic touch. Overall, the drama is worth watching if you are here for something on the lighter side in terms of the plot and if you are a sucker for a love triangle LOL. FURTHER, the OST is amazing!!

Not enough chemistry

There is no steamy kiss. Chemistry is luke warm.
The ML is my favorite so I tortured mail with watching every episode diligently.

He has some intense missing scenes in his other dramas but this one drags on.
They really some take our the steamy kids tag from title.

Just a tepid local story. Not even funny enough.

It had the potential to be a wonderful romcom but not sure what made it so mediocre.
The story, the FL, the guy who was chatting the FL???
Did not capture my attention nor interest.
