The Sorrows of the Past

Cinnamon Roll couldn't see his boss sad, and went to ask about her past to the Director and she said something sus, like he's involved. Then she said I see you are now ready to look into her pain and showed him the memories of the past. 400 Years ago, She looked cute before, rebellious, training her archery skills. The meeting of these two people *blushing*. The marriage was fixed for these two. Jung il had to go to war because they needed him and leave Ryeon behind. But Barbarians invaded their home, killed people. Koo Ryeon fought back, but she alone couldn't have defeated them and was captured. Jung il heard about the event and mounted his horse and ran towards the barbarians direction. When Ryeon managed to poison the Barbarians and escaped with other women, they reached Joseon, but their own people refused to let them in, instead threatened to kill them, but Jung il finally arrived and protected the women. After a Year she's still having nightmares, and the people are so shameless as they are blaming all these women instead for returning alive, they just saved their lives, but these people are just trash. I just can't believe this mother in law of Ryeon, literally Ryeon saved her sorry ass from the Barbarians and told her to hide until they're gone, and this is how she fucking repays her good deed, she's advising her son to divorce his wife cause she was one of the Returning Women, who were supposedly sullied by the Barbarians. Fuck you again, if she had let you be taken by the Barbarians then old lady you would have been in such a worse condition that he might have had to look for another mother figure. She gave Ryeon a dagger and presented two options, either you take your own life or you die by someone else's hands. When she went to the market, people were throwing stones at her, her forehead was bleeding, it is so depressing that her Past was so Sorrowful. Her servant died protecting her. I understand her state of mind at that time, all she thought about was wanting to die, the rumour didn't go down, instead it was spreading all the more, leaving her no way but to end her life. But Jung il never left her side, he's been with her all this time, how can he see the love of his life taking her own life. The two soldiers were saying such trash about his wife he mercilessly killed them. His love for Ryeon was so deep that it led to him killing the people who were spouting such shit and spreading more rumours. I'm crying it is so sad. She couldn't see her love lose himself because of her, she decided to slit her wrist and end her life. That was the reason why the Director said "You killed the love of his life". I'm sobbing. The way he held her Cold body and sobbed that she can't leave him like this. This whole episode was so sad.

Exciting and dangerous moments

Jung Su Gyeom is so cute 😻😭😭😭 Prince Gyeong Seong's questioning of the westerner made me happy. Prince Gyeong Seong's soldier is also cute and funny. In the scenes where Prince Gyeong Seong was flirting with Do Hwa Seon, I felt like I was Do Hwa Seon 😻 I hope Prince Gyeong Seong and Jung Su Gyeom's friendship doesn't fall apart. Whoaw the first night scenes between Prince Gyeong Seong and Cha Seon Chaek really excited me 😭😭😭😭 I really liked Cha Seon Chaek's response to the queen mother. I hope Jung Su Gyeom gets back together with Cho Eun Ae, whom he loves, soon. The shaman woman and the child are so cute. Another kiss scene aaaa 😻 I wonder who pushed Cha Seon Chaek into the water. I especially loved the way Prince Gyeong Seong saved Cha Seon Chaek underwater 😻😭😭😭 It ended at the most interesting part 😭😭😭😭

A Promising Pilot ⚠️ Slight Spoilers

I initially never forgot about Whale Star xoxo because of the premise: a WLW romance between a grocery store owner and a girl who strives to help her━ but with secrets of her own, and after watching the trailer, I am so glad that it turned out to be more than that!We finally have a WLW version of themes tackled by hit contemporary kdramas with mf romance pairings about work-life balance, the importance of slowing down in this fast-paced capitalistic society and healing; but Whale Star xoxo's pilot stands out through the short yet memorable mention of systematic misogyny that working mothers face. There's a lot to love about this pilot (as evident by multiple scenes saved under Moments in my Netflix account).I loved Wan's fiestiness and how her grief and work struggles make her a multi-faceted heroine. This series really begins with Wan coming back to her hometown to continue running her deceased father's store. Her arc of healing, restarting her (work) life and having a healthier perspective on work is what I'm looking forward to!I LOVED Wan and Maewnam's chemistry and what some modern romance pairings fail to achieve: compatibility. They're both workaholics who are grappling with the difficult circumstances surrounding their parents. I can't wait to see how they'll heal together and provide comfort for each other! 🥺💗The second lead couple played by June-Mewnich are adorable too. I was genuinely smiling and feeling butterflies while watching them! 🥺💗Overall, with a charismatic cast, chemistry between the two lead couples and relevant and relatable themes Whale Star xoxo starts with promise and I'm itching to see the story unfold. Episode 6 Review

This episode highlighted a lot of Tamtawan pride in being of service to Phi, it's so sweet how Tam likes knowing, helping and supporting Phi in everything.Also, this is one of the episodes where I felt it was the most mature, which I'm happy. A story about Exes, I'm glad we are getting mature and some comedy in The Ex-Morning.Tamtawan being obviously jealous and Phi being aware was so funny but I have to say younger Phi was so dense because how could he Not know that younger Tam liked him.Also, the GL couple thanks heavens we got to see that Yong had already moved on and has started dating someone else because if I'm being honest I would have felt a way if his sister and Ex had got together when Yong had not moved on.Earn's character Nudee and Rita were my favourite comedians and fangirls here, I like how the story uses them to balanced the turmoil that was going with between Phi and Tam with Paul as the thrid-wheel this episode.

Bargaining chips

The princess and bodyguard get to the maid and break food carrier revealing painting. The princess gets the painting, memorizes the features and drops it into the fire destroying it. The chancellor and prince both see and the prince snidely wishes him a happy marriage celebration. He is unhappy about the painting but satisfied that chancellor didn’t get it either. The sister gets herself in trouble with the psycho prince and right when things look bad the eunuch comes in with a gift for the sister from emperor. The prince then offers a jade piece and leaves, I wonder if the jade piece is the one that opens the door of the vault in gambling house. The chancellor is ready to literally throttle the princess. She reminds him that the only way he gets the painting is her recreating it. He shrewdly tests her memory and skills with a series of ink paintings, where she successfully provides a decent rendition of them in correct order. She makes a three part negotiation to give him painting in three installments. Rather than recreate the painting, she recreates the signature block and has her bodyguard leave to make inquiries. In this episode, I feel sympathy for the wife. She is in exact same boat as the princess and is pressed for intel as well. It is more sad that this day is also her bday and only brother remembered her. I wonder if the chancellor was even aware? She tries to offer a divorce and the chancellor refuses. She is now basically a prisoner in house with no visitors or visiting permitted. She will have to plead sick until further notice. The Princess’ bodyguard has not returned and she tries a revised deal with the chancellor. He has his own issues because he has two weeks to solve counterfeit case or his records go to Prince and he is punished. He had already decided to visit gambling house but now doesn’t feel the need for the painting. He feels she overplayed her hand with triple request so now even tho he could get whole painting for finding bodyguard he is not interested. The Princess then finds the sister who helps her get to the gambling house. They are caught by chancellor and aide and while the Princess successfully gives them the slip the aide takes sister home. While the chancellor gambles to find source of counterfeit money, he wrongly assumed Princess wouldn’t be able to get in. She again successfully hides amongst the help and actually gets to third floor where she thinks bodyguard is being held hostage. The chancellor seas the vault door and that jade seal required to open it. He’s coming from basement and Princess from third floor. She comments that both of them not having a good night and coming up empty handed. Can’t wait to see his response next episode.
