A romance film with a dark and artsy indie film tone might not be everyone's cup of tea, but this film is a win for me. This film centers around the character of Jane — a struggling actress, a strong woman on the outside, but beneath her facade lies a hidden pain and a reliance on alcohol as a coping mechanism. Despite the dull mood and tone rather than the typical sunny and cheerful romance formula, in my opinion, this film really delivers the emotions it intended quite effectively. Director Irene Villamor puts flaws, imperfections, problems, and struggles at the forefront—the real issues people are facing in real life and in a relationship. And the film does not glamorize or romanticize Jane's struggles, but instead presents them in a stark and unfiltered light.The script is not super neat. There are a few loopholes and somewhat draggy plots, but despite that, I like that this film doesn't offer easy answers or tidy resolutions. The idea of "love is not always the answer" is on point. I love how Jane and Francis' relationship is not portrayed as a quick fix to Jane's issues. It shows the harsh reality of using alcohol as a crutch and the destructive impact it can have on a person's life and relationships. But despite the issues and heavy subject matter, the film also has moments of tenderness between Jane and Francis. Their dynamic is complex and layered, mirroring the struggles of real-life individuals grappling with similar issues. The visual storytelling aspect is also on point and I found myself drawn into its dark, but somehow hopeful world.
In my opinion, the strength of this film is definitely the performance. Bela Padilla really shines in her role. Her multi-dimensional portrayal of Jane, a character walking a tightrope between strength and vulnerability, is rather complex, but she delivers it perfectly. From moments of quiet introspection to explosive outbursts of emotion, Padilla infuses her performance with a raw authenticity that is both captivating and heart-wrenching. JC Santos's performance might not be as outstanding, but his presence still manages to bring layers to the story. Their undeniable chemistry never fails to make me swoon.
Overall, it may not be the most outstanding film of the JC-Bela tandem, but I consider it a poignant and thought-provoking film that delves into the dark and gritty realities of alcoholism and entertainment. It also serves as a reminder that sometimes, love is not enough to heal our wounds and that true healing begins with facing our demons and taking control of our own destiny.

frightening but good
The film was terrifying, and the fact that it's so treacherous and that something like that really happened is also very creepy. The first stalker, where you thought he was a murderer, was bad enough, but the real stalker-murder is so much worse. I already suspected there were probably several stalkers, and I found the guy, the murderer, who worked at her house somewhat suspicious. He looked at her so often. But I still think it's good that the film repeatedly led our search for the murderer to a different guy. My first thought it was her employees who helped her because, for whatever reason, he knew her house number.I also found it really creepy that the stalker, and also the murderer, was always at her house in the evenings, showered, was naked, cuddled with her, and used her while unconscious. I also found it really weird that he cuddled with her again and said he wasn't creepy,and when she almost threw up, he immediately held out a bucket to her as if he were really nice etc.

Good and sweet, but I would have liked more.
I found the moments between the two of them very sweet. I got butterflies in my stomach when they kissed. The scene where she came back and said "I found it" and hugged him was soo sweet too.I wish they had taken revenge on the "exes". Or at least those who were confronted about it. They stopped and didn't directly cheat, but they still wanted to cheat.
The murder at the end was a plot twist, but I would have preferred a more sinister atmosphere. Someone was murdered, and they act like it's not a big deal.
Still cute though. The two children too.

Watch it ! its so nostalgic and warm
Swing Girls is everything a movie should be! It makes you dream, laugh, feel emotional, and simply feel good.More than that, it teaches you something, A quality modern day movie lacks, but old day movies were build on.
This is something older movies do so well. They have a kind of soul that feels missing from many modern movies. They are not overly polished or filled with filters trying to look perfect. They go straight to the heart. They stay with you and make you feel something real.
Plot**
The story follows a group of middle school girls stuck in summer school, trying to make up subjects they did not pass. They are bored and restless, just waiting for time to pass, until they notice the school band leaving for a baseball game without their bentos. They convince their teacher to let them deliver the lunches, but what should have been simple quickly turns into chaos. Because of how chaotic they are, the entire band ends up with food poisoning. As a result, these girls, who have no musical background at all, are forced to take their place.
At first, it is only an excuse to skip summer classes. But slowly, something changes. What begins as a joke turns into something real. They get pulled into the world of jazz, and it starts to take over in the best way possible.
This is what makes the movie so special. It does not just tell a story, it lets you discover something alongside the characters. Jazz is not just background music here, it becomes the heart of the film. You feel their struggles, their awkward beginnings, and their small victories as they slowly find their rhythm.
It is fun, emotional, and warm, but it also feels meaningful. Nothing about it feels empty. Unlike many modern movies, it takes a specific topic and shows you how interesting and beautiful it can be. It makes you curious and makes you want to learn more.
By the end, you feel fully invested in these imperfect girls learning to play music and growing together. Watching them come together through music feels heart warming.
This movie also feels incredibly nostalgic. Being an early 2000s film, it brings back that slower pace movies used to have, where everything had time to breathe. The setting, with its quiet rural Japan and everyday school life, feels so comforting and healing.
It is the kind of film that makes any Japan lover wish they could step into that world. You know that feeling, when you wish you were born in Japan, going to school there, living those simple days… even something as small as falling asleep on your desk in class somehow feels beautiful.

Great movie.
This was a great movie, It had a good story. The special effect were amazing and the visuals stunning!I don't remember the music.
All actors did an amazing job.
This was my second time watching and i enjoyed it as much as the first time.
I recommend watching it.

Action, Humor, and Stunning Animation
After watching Ne Zha 2, I can confidently say it’s an action-packed and thoroughly entertaining cinematic experience. The film strikes a perfect balance between intense battles and lighthearted, humorous moments, keeping you engaged from start to finish.Visually, it’s breathtaking each frame is full of detail, energy, and creativity. The animation quality alone makes it worth watching. On top of that, the film’s themes, inspired by Chinese mythology, are handled in a way that’s both compelling and accessible, even if you’re not familiar with the source material.
Overall, Ne Zha 2 is a must-see for anyone who enjoys animated adventures, mythology, or simply great storytelling. Highly recommended!

a silent breakdown.. LOUDER THAN ANY ACTION !!
Just watched and wow… this was NOT what I expected.This isn’t your typical action thriller. There’s no flashy fights or fast-paced chases. Instead, it hits you with something way more unsettling — psychological tension that slowly builds until it feels suffocating.
The cinematics? Insane. The way the film visually shows the protagonist’s mental state — stress, pressure, and gradual breakdown — is honestly one of the best things about it. You don’t just watch his struggle… you ill feel it.
And the acting? Absolutely top tier. Both the protagonist and antagonist deliver performances that feel so real it’s uncomfortable in the best way. You can literally sense the moment where patience turns into desperation.
What makes this movie stand out is how it focuses on real-life pressure — money, survival, basic needs — and shows how far a person can be pushed. It’s not loud, but it hits hard.

Search for Paradise
Stylish but strange. I liked the characters—I mean, they look good, and the producer made sure every shot looks visually appealing—but there is a lot lacking, both in character development and especially in world-building. The movie depicts a fictional, dystopian, broken society that should have been explained better. We just see people without purpose, partying as if there is no tomorrow. What bothered me the most is the lack of sustainability: everyone is simply contributing to the further destruction of the community. It feels somewhat like CHAZ, the self-proclaimed Autonomous Zone, where people occupied a park but soon realized they couldn’t survive on their own, so they returned home and back to normal society.The movie does well in showing subtle emotions. The dialogue is weak, but the unspoken communication is effective and well done. The two main characters are brothers, and the tension between them is what keeps the movie together.
I can make a comparison to another movie released just one week apart from this one, and that is Project Y. Both movies serve as metaphors for today’s youth, and both show desperate people in a corrupt environment searching for a better life. Project Y is female-centric, focusing on two best friends, while Boy is male-centric, focusing on two brothers. Both try to portray a specific Korean feeling of hopelessness, and I like this one just a little bit more.

disturbing, sick, do not watch
This movie is horrific and the fact that it’s even considered a bromance or BL in any manner is slander. How does it have such high ratings? It made me sick to my stomach to see how these men disposed of women. Human trafficking, assault, drugging. If I was an actor I would never agree to partake in a film like this. I’m all for a good thriller but this was just disturbing and triggering.God I wanna throw up. I need to go cleanse my brain for the next week to wash this horror out of my brain. Do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs.

Based on French playwright Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, Samurai Saga may be the definitive film version of the story about a poetic swordsman who believes no woman could love him because of his large nose. Mifune Toshiro gave an emotionally compelling performance as the humorous and heartbreaking samurai who was willing to set aside his own feelings for the happiness of the woman he loved.Komaki Heihachiro is a gifted swordsman and poet, able to do both at the same time. He’s in love with his childhood friend, Lady Ochii, never letting on how he feels. She falls in love with the handsome Jurota believing him to have a noble mind. She begs Komaki to protect him which her friend reluctantly does. Turns out Jurota doesn’t have many creative thoughts which puts a damper on the romance. Komaki writes poetry for him to claim as his own which lures the lady back in. On a night before the two are called to battle, hidden under the moonlight, Komaki declares his love and yearnings through Jurota to Lady Ochii.
Samurai Saga was a full-blown romantic triangle featuring true love, poetry, humor, sword fights, bloody battles, and tragic revelations. Mifune Toshiro played Cyrano/Komaki. He managed the humor while dialing back the full manic he displayed in Seven Samurai and Rashomon. His scene under the moonlight and his final scene with the Lady Ochii were among some of his best work I’ve seen. Heartachingly vulnerable and brave at the same time. With Mifune it took little imagination to believe he could take on 25 attacking samurai and live to tell the boisterous tale, his romantic side was the revelation. Takarada Akira (Godzilla 1954) was the handsome and forthright samurai lacking the deep thoughts his lady so desperately craved. I was more familiar with Tsukasa Yoko’s work in Ozu films, but here she was convincing as the lady in love with the poetry and letters not written by the fair face she thought owned her heart.
Samurai Saga was a funny and sorrowful tale of poetic misunderstandings. Though theirs was a world of turmoil and shifting political powers, the three people ensconced in their romantic triumvirate saw only the face of their beloved. The mask of the undaunted and beautiful spirit would ultimately be revealed under the gentle fall of cherry blossoms in one of Mifune’s finer performances. If you enjoy older Japanese films or adaptations of Cyrano de Bergerac this would be one to try.

Playdoh zombies and wattpad storyline
if you want to wait 45mn (out of 1h35mn) to have some storyline, let’s dive in. The zombies looks like they are made out of playdoh (gives you a good laugh though) and the plot is not plotting.Acting is good for the main female character, I’ll give you that but the male one, not convinced.
The fight scenes ? Remember TikTok and slowmotion era ? Well, yes, same thing.
Maybe I’m too hard. Oh, and when there is FINALLY something happening after some advertisement from nutella and some virtual reality brand, this is the end of the movie
I love zombie media, loved All of us are Dead for example but this one ? I should have dropped it

It kept me entertained
I would have to say that it kept me entertained. In my opinion the first movie was way better than the second one. It still watchable but I still cannot re-watch it like with the first one I was able to enjoy it and watch it several times. The cast was not memorable and the new kids looking for the body parts were not at all interesting. it feels as if they just made a second one cause the first one did so well but they forgot the formula that made the first one interesting in the first place.Was this review helpful to you?

overly used plot but a cute version
Honestly, it’s not a bad movie. It’s actually quite enjoyable, but the biggest issue for me is that the plot is very overused. After a while, it kind of loses its charm because the story feels very familiar.That being said, it’s still a nice movie, and I think people who haven’t seen this type of story before might enjoy it much more than I did.
Overall, it was fun to watch, and one thing that really stood out to me was the theme around curly hair. That part actually resonated with me a lot.
As a millennial who grew up seeing ads on TV constantly telling us that curly hair was messy or dry and that was it was a " problem" that we needed silky straight hair to look pretty, this movie brought back a lot of memories. The way it touched on that insecurity felt very real and relatable, and I enjoyed how the movie brought back something that so strongly defined beauty back in the day.
The reason I say the plot isn’t very original is because it’s the kind of storyline you’ve probably seen before. The movie follows a girl who has a crush on a guy, and her friends help her build the courage to confess her feelings. During a school trip, she’s about to confess to him, but in that moment she realizes she’s actually in love with her best friend instead. They start dating, but things don’t stay simple. The best friend has serious family issues that force him to leave and disappear from her life. Years later, she still hasn’t moved on, and then he suddenly reappears, and their love story continues.
It’s one of those plots where you can pretty much predict what’s going to happen because we’ve seen similar stories many times before.
Even so, the movie is still a light and enjoyable watch. It may not be the most original story, but it has some relatable moments and a nostalgic feeling that makes it worth watching if you’re in the mood for something simple and sweet.

The Action Movie Made in China, not as Hong Kong Action Movie
It was hard to get this movie when you’re living outside mainland china! I need intense browsing whishing someone upload it before I found it few weeks ago.First, if you love something romantic, sentimental, good looking ML & FL, rich with all modern things china have nowadays, then I’m sure this movie it isn’t for you. On the contrary, if you like realistic, real life, daily routine ordinary peoples with all of their struggle live, so this movie worth watching.
Second, you must change your view and have in mind, the movie happened in the developing country China around 90’s, when there was no handphone, internet connection, private luxurious car and all modern things as nowadays. As normally communism countries before 2000, not too open, bit close from outside world, bit slow in the industrial development and etc, so did China. That is why I like this movie because it also contain bit of historical things.
The story told about a young policeman Bi Zhengming (Wang Anyu) whom become policeman coz his experience in his youth when he saw the pickpocket occupied daily train in china that almost cost his life, how they operating to steal and avoid got catch by policeman. Later he become obsessed to liquidate the pickpocket gangster, no matter it have cost his leg. With his chief mentor in the police department, he did undercover and join in the small pickpocket gang which the chief girl named Da Baitao (Zhang Tian Ai), to learn their trick and skill. Bi Zhengming did everything to create steady and safety public area and transport, especially in the train. It cost a lot of effort, money and also life.
The director successfully transferred the real operation of pickpocket in developing countries at 90’s into a movie. Collaboration, structural, managerial such a corporate organization. Each bunch having their own chief, their own area territory that cant be trespassing by others, their own operation method that could be harsh and cruel for the victim, but also each bunch must respect each others. In 70’s – 90’s era, it was the era of big gangster occupied country such as Mafia in Italy, Yakuza in Japan, Triad in Hong Kong, Kartel in Mexico/Brazil and so on. As normally a gangster, they have godfather, the mighty highest leader that chosen by each chief of bunch. So did what also in this story, even just bunch of pickpocket, they also have a godfather.
This movie was rich of characters development, Bi Zhengming with his chief mentor whom always support him, his opposed mother whom prefer him to be a cloth seller than a policeman (especially after it cost his leg), Da Baitao pickpocket girl who has felling for him (that of course will never happen coz in in the real life, it bit impossible that a policeman married ex pickpocket girl – realistic). She also have her own issue with her biological mother whom also ex part of pickpocket, and how she beg Bi Zhengming to give chance a better life for her best friend (the deafmute pickpocket) after he serve his punishment, in where Bi Zhengming fully agreed. The cruel pickpocket whom obsessed to be a godfather and did everything to make it come true, base also on his youth experience. How one bunch tried to be a biggest and superior one that normal happen in the gangster world. The differences and similarity performance and enforcement between police department and gangster club. I would say, must give big appreciation to the director to do such a rich story for just a 2hrs movie, and especially coz it is a low – moderate budget movie.
I like Wang Anyu in this movie, he didn’t care at all his visual, very contrary as normally see him deadly handsome, clean, attractive, charming prince and so on. I’m sure he can do more (come on Anyu, don’t hold your talent!). Zhang Tian Ai did good job, witty, cheerful, smart ass pickpocket girl. The antagonist ambitious pickpocket, enemy of Bi Zhengming also did good job, he damn cold blooded, cruel one without emotion.
The cinematography is quite good, old fashioned train, crowded, not clean enough station and road (normal in the developing countries in 90’s era), pager and public phone (instead of handphone), and other 90’s look like. Even I doubt that it was look like that exactly coz it seems in the movie look bit modern than reality, some scene miss there and here (not much), but is ok anyway. Need bigger budget to do exactly as reality
What I don’t like most in this movie is the title, OMG why oh why always have name there? It is a movie, should be something more mean, like “Railroad Journey” or “The Bunch” for example. The opening would be more interesting if begun with bullet train journey then slowly year by year back to the 90’s train. In the end, I do like that kind of movie, realistic life, emotion of each character, very realistic romance, and Wang Any in different character and outlook!

For a debut project it's okay
While watching this film, the story was great but the portrayal was lacking a bit and I found the acting to be lacking. However, I really liked the color grading, which had a bluish and gloomy tone, probably because I love blue hues. The background music was good as well.
