Whoever casted the leads, did a great job!
A spoiler free review of this coming-of-age movie with a bittersweet ending of a young couple and their best friends in the year 1999. And yeah, Byeon Wooseok is incredible! Not to forget Kim Youjung is so adorable in here. The story is fresh and gives the vibe similar to "Twenty Five Twenty One" but with a better ending and shortened time with no bullshit dragging around. Had a good watch. Definitely recommended. You will laugh, smile, cry along with them and understand the love they had in between.
P.S.- Han Hyojoo appears in this movie as well. She is amazingly awesome as the adult Na Bora.

A tragic, unrequited, but touching love story.
The story takes place in the year 1999.Yeon Doo and Bo Ra are two childhood besties.
One day, Yeon Doo meets with a stranger at their shop and gets a crush on him.
She tells her best friend, Bo Ra, about this and refuses to go for heart surgery in the U.S.
Bo Ra promises Yeon Doo that she'll help her to get every detail about her crush and that she must go for her heart surgery in the U.S. and come back healthy.
After coming back from successful heart surgery, Yeon Doo asks Bo Ra about her crush, showing a photo that Bo Ra sent her before.
But suddenly Bo Ra was stunned, as in this photo there were 3 people: Bo Ra,Yeon Doo's Crush, and a guy whom Bo Ra likes, and the guy whom Yeon Doo is pointing at is the other guy whom Bo Ra actually likes.
She suddenly realises that all along she had guessed the wrong guy and Yeon Doo's actual crush is the guy whom she loves.
Bo Ra chooses her friendship over her love and tries every attempt to get Yeon Doo and her ( Bo Ra's) lover closer, despite the fact that it's actually tormenting her inside.
But eventually, Yeon Doo finds out the truth, and she's devastated, thinking Bo Ra simply made a fool out of her.
But after so much thought, Yeon Doo slowly understands Bo Ra's intention and attempts to fix all the misconceptions by telling everything about her to the guy Bo Ra loves.
Bo Ra finally reunites with her lover on the day of his departure to a foreign country.
He promises that he'll definitely come back for her and tells her (Bo Ra) to wait for him.
After many years of waiting, Bo Ra finally meets with her lover's younger brother instead of him and gets a package from him containing the old memories of Bo Ra and her lover.
At the end, a startling reality is revealed that leaves Bo Ra and the viewers in tears.
My personal thoughts:-
Many viewers are going to despise this movie after this twisted ending.
But I found this ending adoptable.
Even though I'm disappointed by the ending, I do believe that a distinct outcome would have been far better and more palatable.
We can't always have our way while things are happening.
So, even when we're watching a drama, there are moments when this kind of ending isn't at all loathsome.
So, if you think you're this open-minded, give it a shot; otherwise, if you can't stand unfavourable outcomes, try something else.

GO WATCH IT!!!
OMG the movie is EXCELLENT. The story is great. The movie keeps you engrossed in the story and leaves you in suspense throughout, especially at the end, whether she will meet him or not, but I didn't expect her to die at all. Still, I'd love to know why, but being unlimited, let your imagination go wild. The movie is very good, the actors are very charismatic and very talented. The story is brilliant, with an ending you don't even expect. They also brought tears to my eyes, but it depends on the person. The story is emotional, but if you don't get emotional quickly, you won't cry Overall, the movie is brilliant. Definitely worth seeing. 10 out of 10 SUREWas this review helpful to you?
Sweet and interesting in-game story
This is such a nice movie. The storyline is not exactly new but it is interesting enough to catch your attention. It’s lighthearted but also tells a love story between two young people who have a hard time expressing their feelings.FL and ML are so sweet and lovable. FL's switching back and forth between her two female friends' personalities and her own is fun but also impressive acting wise. Both of them are really good actors.
The ending is so sweet and very fitting.
So, if you are in the mood for something sweet and interesting, this is well worth watching.

Great Movie
Idk what people have against this movie. I saw some people say it's unrealistic that there's no people in the alleys at midnight like there's supposed to be 20 people going on a walk in that narrow alley at midnight. There's people when they get into the busy parts of the city. Also that there's plot holes but imo everything got cleared up and it has a clear ending. It's a great movie overall. We sometimes get scenes where there's 0 sounds, from the perspective of the deaf girl which often adds to the suspense. The police is dumb and really annoying but that shouldn't be a reason to not watch it. You will definitely get frustrated at the stupidity of some characters but honestly I think it was intended to show the problems that deaf people can often face (in an extreme way i know). The acting was also really good and Storyline overall too.

It’s not even fun bad… It's just bad.
How they got this cast to do this movie is beyond me. The best part were the bad subtitles that kept calling Hyeri “he” and later Yoon Gyeom “sis”. There were just so many writing and directing choices I did not understand…First of all, there is no set up for anything. They don’t tell, they don’t show. Half way through the movie you will still not truly understand the past events, current characters; motivations, who is on whose side and why. Not explicitly telling every little detail about the plot is fine, most viewers can put two and two together. Here… they told me close to nothing. I feel like I had to basically write 50% of the plot in my head, to make any sense of it. The vague idea of the plot in Monstrum is interesting, but that’s it - just a vague idea, a first draft of the plot…
I can't really comment about the acting, because the characters were so painfully one-dimensional a brick wall could play them and the result would be similar.
The comedy was also misplaced and just in poor taste. This is not a slapstick sitcom, so why are we getting fart jokes?
Overall… It’s been a while since I watched something so bad I was actually annoyed watching.

I may be biased again but this sequel actually isn’t bad!
Maybe I was over expecting on the first movie that I rated it that bad (and now I put the bar so low LOL). This movie however, nailed all the emotion-evoking scenes!! I loved how they did it. Frankly, I’m not comparing to the anime/manga because it’d be very tough to capture everything, but the way the screenplay flowed through was flawless!!! Not the best opening scenes but still, the part halfway (not expounding on it to make this review spoiler-free) until the end had my whole attention captured. It is worth watching, to everyone who liked FMA or in general like the actors and actresses that are part of this trilogy.I, myself, am watching for Mackenyu more than I am a fan of FMA. Kidding aside, I still think Tsubasa Honda’s acting is great. Cinematography on the war was excellent. Tiny bits and pieces of exposition on the overly complex plot of FMA was nicely done. I know the whole plot already, but it’s like watching without a clue because it’s been so long since I’ve finished the anime. I still got surprised at what happened in the last few scenes. WHAT. A. CLIFF. HANGER. Imagine releasing this without the next movie. I would go crazy mad. Chad production move there, don’t make your audience angry!
Anyway, as per tradition, a summary and TLDR:
Cast: still a superb cosplay display, 9/10
Acting: I’m not gonna complain a lot, since the latter half is good, 7/10
CG: I’ve seen better CG, but ok 6/10
Story: 8.5/10
Overall:
Good screenplay and cinematography, lackluster CG, some actors carried the others, great costumes!, good important bits of the plot picked up and shown-so good plot! 8/10
Recommend for: fantasy fans maybe, and FMA fans of course.
-from an FMA fan who already forgot the story
P.s in all honesty I enjoyed the latter half, the first half bored me to death. So I’m still probably rating based only on the good 2nd half of the movie. Skipping and watching on 2x speed helps, though!

So good and soo bad... but it does start with a Q
This one is so hard to rate as the female lead and her friends were great, amazing, fun to watch, interesting and human... Unfortunately this pretty cool person with the ability to move on married a self righties, chauvinistic, traditional, idiot who to top it off has 0 respect for his wife's boundaries, sorry I meant to top it off he is gullible and believes his even more stupid best friend...And well the story revolves around the idiot instead of the really cool woman he married... which is why I want to give the parts with her a 9,5 star rating and the parts with him a 5... So I settled with a 7.
The plot is mostly predictable, and honestly slightly dangerous as even if they do seem to raise the issue of his wife's right to privacy they also add some so kalled forgiving parts here and there that are supposed to show us that the guy is ok. People this guy has more red flaggs than may day in China, the beach a windy day and a rich lead who loves reds mansion put together. If you meet a guy like that run for the hills and do not look back.
So what do I say if you have the time , need something from 2013 or that starts with a Q it is actually pretty entertaining at times (whenever the female lead is in the picture), So why not... it is not a bad watch... But even I who love watching flags for entertainment purposes found that this guy was lacking and more annoying than entertaining.

It had potential but fell through
Ive watched a fair share of tragic romance movies, and i would say this movie falls under 'mediocre'. I think the acting was solid, but the plot was mediocre and had an unexpected twist that will make you question why it happened in the first place.Firslty, I couldnt seem to bond with the characters. There seemed to be a lack of proper development for most characters, or even if there was it just felt lackluster. I couldnt emphatise with any of the characters in this film, and its not like there wasnt any chance to empathise with them but i just couldn't feel strongly attached to any of them.
The romance between the two leads was also underwhelming. It was sweet and had potential to be developed even further if they had stuck to the whole first love/crush cliche but it had to end in the most tragic way possible which made me feel that the directors didnt give a chance for the romance to develop at all, and just ended it in the most sloppy way.
Tragic romances dont happen like magic. There's a build up to it -if you want the audience to feel sad for the character you need the audience to become emotionally attached to them. For this to happen, we need more development from this character, a bit more perspective into his/her life. When the ML died, it didnt make me feel sad, it made question why did he have to die. It was sudden and it felt forced.
And the ending where the brother invited her to an exhibition - this was so similiar to the japanese movie, Heavenly Forest. Even the artworks of the exhibition had to do with people - the resemblance was uncanny. But overall , the movie was ok. If you want something to kill time then this movie is for you.

What?
The actors were pretty hot in my opinion, and their acting was good, i.e. the ghost was creepy, and the jealous friend gave me chills. The story was unique and a good plot idea, but it was maybe a bit too short to actually round out the storyline. The music was also fitting, creepy/silly. I normally enjoy a good steamy scene, but it was kind of awkward, maybe because the story was moving so fast so it was like creepy ghost one second and round cheeks the next.Though I didn't feel like I wasted my time watching it, still I would never rewatch it, because why?

The cast is excellent but the film isn't.
The cast is excellent but the film isn't. That's why I'm a bit disappointed with this title. The beginning was pretty good. It showed well-made scenery, which made me excited about this film. However, after an hour it got boring. And it was boring for sixty minutes straight. The ending was better than the scenes before, but that's still not it.
I feel as if the plot of this movie is truncated, and too simple. In the end, you can easily deduce what happened to Gi Hoon, but what about his parents? Why did these people go to them? Considering the whole film and that Han was in pursuit of the main characters because he made it his goal, it was soo out of context. This part really doesn't make sense to me.
Also, the film was very predictable. It was obvious to me what would happen to the main characters.
At least the background music was good.

20th Century Girl
I do not understand why the show has been getting so many bad comments— if you only have bad things to say, I believe you are overcritical and picky. Why I like this K-movie:
The end was unexpected. Even if you have watched a kdrama or kmovie with a similar ending it does not make it boring in any shape or form. Personally, I never watched a movie with a sad ending, so this came as a shock to me!
Each and every actor/actress really brought their character to live and made it very unique.
The movie basically illustrates the life of a teenager whose love and youth were at its prime on the 20th Century, and that’s where it remained. After the twentieth century, she had to deal with the memory of her first love which apparently left her behind in the 20th century without any sort of contact.
What could be better:
1. I do not understand why they had to make an appearance of teenagers stealing and showing interest for shows Rated R. I do not think that this should be normalised. Teenagers are literally losing their innocence and it is sad.
2. Maybe I skipped some parts and missed it but…. How did he die? Car crash? Natural death?! At least let us know. Apparently he died in 2001… but weren’t they meeting in 2000? Maybe I misunderstood or missed it, so if that is the case, apologies.
3. While the tape of the 20th century was rolling and showing the people, it would’ve been nice if it also showed how they were doing. E.g:. How are Hyun Jin and Yeon Doo as a couple?
Conclusion:
I have no further comments other than “well done”. This was a very well produced movie.

Two words-Hopping Vampires!
From the moment I saw the dark forest shots and familiar waterfall I knew this Hong Kong movie was filmed in Taiwan. I immediately lowered my expectations. Good thing because the story was almost incomprehensible. My hopes were heightened when the movie began with a line of hopping vampires, hopping through town guided by a Taosist priest. Those hopes came crashing down pretty quickly.
The gist of the plot is Ming rebels trying to survive against their new Ching overlords. Two of the main players David Tang Wei and Carter Wong had studied with the same master and now ten years later were on opposite sides. As he often did in later movies, Carter played the baddie. David’s sister Fan Ling also joined in the fighting. Tung Li was a Ming General working as a rebel, too.
Carter had stolen the masters poisonous needles and the rebels had a secret list. Now that the basics are out of the way, it was time to get down to some fighting. David was poisoned by the secret needles and the rebels sought to send the secret plans via “hopping vampires” as the area was crawling with Chings.
The movie muddled around for a bit with the “hopping vampires” being taken through town and getting into fights. Finally the Ming General and the brother and sister rebels took on Carter and the blood started flowing.
The body count was high, but due to the poor storytelling and often dark scenes I wasn’t emotionally attached to any of the characters.
The initial fights were mostly hack and slack sword fighting. In the grand finale fights we finally got some hand to hand combat. You don’t have Carter Wong in the movie if there wasn’t going to be some kung fu. There was a lot of wire-fu, especially for Fan, but most of it was tolerable.
Joseph Kuo made sure there were some interesting shots but the story was haphazardly put together. The fights weren’t interesting enough either to hold my attention. Only for hard core fans.
