So cute

Absolutely loved this show especially the chemistry between Ran and Chat, they are super cute and I was pleasantly surprised by how good this series is. I wanna re-watch it especially the scenes between Ran and Chat, they are the most attractive thing about this series and their acting and chemistry with each other is on fire🥰😍❤️

really good but still wished it could have been better

the casting is great, the plot setup is great, but i still feel like there was something missing. generally with this kinda mystery/horror vibe i wish it could have had me a bit more hooked throughout. it had the foundation for it but narrative structure was weak in development. they could have let us learn more about a handful of characters instead of introducing so many as also important characters in the plot. idk i'm bad at wording this i just know it could have made me much more interested throughout, like the folklore bit could have been used more, i wish production techniques could have also been used more outside of the "horror" scenes (which were actually really good)

i love taeri

A Lot of Heart, Great Aesthetics, But Room for Improvement

The vampire universe and BL is always a tempting combination, and Revamp: The Undead Story arrived with the promise of giving us an intense and supernatural story from the hand of one of the most beloved couples in the industry: Boun and Prem. After finishing it, the conclusion is clear: it is not a perfect series, but it is full of feeling and can be enjoyed if you go in with the right expectations.

If something catches your eye from the first minute, it is its technical aspect. The cinematography of Revamp is top-notch. Visually it is beautiful, with a color palette and lighting that really try to submerge you in that atmosphere of mystery.
As for the acting, on an individual level there are no complaints. Personally, I think the whole cast did a good job. Each actor defended their role with dignity and you can see the effort to pull their characters forward.
In addition, I liked the story itself. Although the execution was not perfectly told, the overall plot was not bad at all; it was clearly understood where they wanted to go and what they were looking to transmit to the viewer.

Despite its strengths, it is impossible to ignore that the series carries several "buts." The main problem lies in the atmosphere: Revamp needed a much darker and more fantastical touch. Being a vampire story, a more mature and mystical vibe was missed. They tried to give a "tough" and mature air to the plot, but unfortunately that vibe did not work and several moments felt forced.
Throughout the chapters, there was always that persistent feeling that something was missing and that some parts of the execution fell quite short.

We have to be honest: Revamp: The Undead Story is not Boun and Prem's best work. We know perfectly well what they are capable of, they have a track record that backs them up and both are capable of much more than what we saw here.
The weakest point of the series, surprisingly, was the romance. Boun and Prem are not good at kissing, and in this project it became very evident. Their romantic scenes felt so bland and lacking in spark that even the uncensored (uncut) scenes disappointed me quite a bit. It lacked that passion and naturalness that a story of biting necks and eternal love required.

In general, Revamp has its obvious flaws, script bumps, and a romance that didn't finish igniting. However, it is still a very entertaining series. It is not perfect nor will it go down in history as a masterpiece, but it is worth watching, especially if, like me, you are a fan of the actors and enjoy seeing them on screen in new concepts.

Mature, gentle, calm, yet ultimately quite forgettable

I went into this drama with high expectations, but it gradually turned into something different from what I initially anticipated. Takeda looks remarkably youthful here, despite his role emphasizing adulthood and maturity. In contrast, his partner often appeared weighed down and emotionally exhausted. Interestingly, his younger self, when he was still working as a medical representative, looked fresher and more vibrant compared to his present-day version as a writer. In which the obvious explanation of the eight-year timeskip.

One of my main complaints about the series is the lack of intimacy between the leads. The dry kisses throughout the entire show felt disappointing, and I understand the frustration some viewers experienced. I felt the same way after finishing all the episodes.

Putting that aside and focusing on the story itself, I appreciated the message that people can still feel lost regardless of their age. The sense of emptiness that slowly consumes us and leaves us searching for meaning was portrayed in a relatable and thoughtful way.

I also enjoyed seeing the world of literary translation. It was refreshing to watch a drama explore how translators work to preserve an author’s intended message while adapting it into their native language. That aspect of the story was genuinely interesting and one of the show’s highlights for me.

The drama has its ups and downs, mostly downs, if I’m being honest. But it remains a decent watch for those who enjoy melancholic and reflective stories. Much like its title suggests, life is not always filled with bright rays of sunshine. There are moments when smoky blues settle in, forcing us to reflect on ourselves. Yet through those periods of sadness and uncertainty, we eventually find the strength to rise again and continue living, carrying our own colors through everyday life.

Heartfelt and Warm

10/10 no notes. This show came with perfect pacing, heart-stirring acting, and the loveliest ghost stories. It was such an easy watch whilst also moving me to tears from time to time. I absolutely love that the leads choose kindness every time. The story between the leads developed gradually over time, in the most realistic way. I would readily watch as many seasons as they would make. Also - Shin I Rang's costuming, with his fan and traditional ties in subtle colours and fancy fabrics are chef's kiss.

A fresh, unique C-drama that breaks away from the same recycled storylines.

You guys don't know how much I love this drama. Initially, I thought it wouldn't be for me because I usually don't enjoy slow-paced dramas, but this one completely proved me wrong. It's slow-paced, yet every episode is engaging and keeps me entertained.

What I love most is that I genuinely have no idea where the story is heading. In most dramas, I can predict the plot and even the ending within the first five episodes, but this one feels completely different. It's refreshing to watch something so unique.

The acting is absolutely top-notch. Every actor delivers such a strong performance that it almost feels like a competition to see who can act better. Yeli, played by Bai Lu, is the heart of this drama. Her character is incredibly well-written, complex, and compelling in a way that many drama characters aren't.

I honestly think this is going to become one of my all-time favorite dramas. I enjoy it far more than dramas like Pursuit of Jade and Ashes to Crown. In my opinion, those dramas relied on recycled storylines and became popular largely because of their visuals, whereas this drama stands out because of its storytelling, characters, and performances.

BEST OVERALL. SOMETHING THAT I WOULD WATCH AGAIN!

I just freshly finished then in the time I write this, but I was really taking my own sweet time with the drama. Another drama, that I didn't skip any part. I have always love drama where every episode is different stories, and there is some inside on the character stories. Highly recommend everyone to watch this and because I'm writing without any spoilers, I can't tell much about lots of best part in this drama. So, you guys should watch it, and give your take out of each episodes. Everyone would have different opinion, but I'm sure most of us would aligned to one.

Mehh

I was enjoying the drama until episode 6. Where the ml was driving with the fl and it started raining and because of his so called trauma he dropped the girl in the middle of nowhere with no umbrella or an alternative transport. Which gentleman in his right mind does this. It's uncalled for and he didn't even bother to apologize or explain himself. That's when I knew this drama was not for me. Everything else is OK but I dropped because of this part.

A story that heal you

I am watching this story in going and start because GYJ. But through out the storyline, I do hate the main character and all of the other characters at the beginning then we start to understand everyone has a flaws. Everyone is trying their best despite whatever background, whatever trauma, whatever environment they're in, all of them is trying their best. This story is a heartwrecking one if you delve too much and if you don't delve at all then it's going to be boring. For me, this is one of a story art that is slowburn and piece of life which not everyone are going fancy it. Will I recommend this to everyone? Absolutely not. Will I rewatch? Absolutely not. But was it a really good drama? Yes, so much yes. I didn't even skip any part of this drama.

"You’re a human, but you’re not humane. Isn’t that peak incompetence?”

Even though dongman is quite annoying at first but he respon what the other deserve. Being a kind only apply to those who deserve it, that dongman. He do the mirroring action and this refreshing to see that ML is not perfect but not fake. It feel more humane

Eun ha looked tough and sometimes fragile but she really strong.
They complement each other in a good ways.
This what that they saying, when your time comes it yours. If not, go through the life and be contented with what you have.

Dongman is just dongman he good but the other treat him like useless lead to he keep talking trash about others and Eunha the only one really hear everything he said without complain anything. She know what kind of dong man in person .

This writer is Soo good, I really like the script and the headline is my most favourite one.

A Great Watch

This Series is absolutely lovely from start to finish. Each episode keeps you hooked and interested to find out what happens next. I love the characters, their growth and the storyline ❤️
The only thing I wasn't clear was if the Queen mother had killed the king 3 years ago.
What happened to the prime minister at the end? Who messed with the female lead's car, etc. But overall I enjoyed this thoroughly ❤️

My Royal Nemesis – A Fresh Crown of Mystery

My Royal Nemesis bursts onto the screen with a storyline that feels both fresh and invigorating, setting the stage for a strong new beginning in its genre. The narrative is layered with intrigue, pulling viewers into a world that constantly keeps them on edge, as though something just beyond reach is waiting to be uncovered.

The casting is superb—each actor embodies their role with precision, adding depth and authenticity that elevates the entire production. The chemistry among the cast members enhances the tension and mystery, making every scene feel alive and unpredictable.

What truly stands out is the way the story balances familiarity with originality. It feels like stepping into a new chapter of drama, yet one that is written with deliberate strokes of suspense and mystery. By the end, you’re left with the sense that this is only the beginning of something grander, and you can’t help but want more.

Started swinging, ended with a slap on the wrist

Okay so this is a little ramble. Grab your popcorns.

I have recently discovered this about myself that I LIVE for the bully-gets-what-they-deserve genre. I eat it UP. There is genuinely nothing more satisfying than watching some smug evil little menace who's been getting away with everything even literal MURDER finally feel the pain they put their victims through. Not "oh he got a little lip cut and went to jail" pain. I want PROPORTIONATE. I want them to actually hurt. So a drama whose entire premise is "the government sends trained adults in to teach these kids a lesson"?? Sign. Me. UP.

So according to statistics, there's been a huge increase of severe crimes for underage students since 2020 in South Korea. And they get away with these things easily because they are "protected" by the law because they are "underage". And all the other things that this drama quoted.

So bullying the bullyer? FUCK YEAH! I don't care. They deserve a taste of their own medicine. And anyone who says "this doesn't fix anything", DUHH! We can't fix people who are sick in the head. I agree that the goal of smacking some sense into someone relies on the assumption that the person has a conscience to wake up, and these ppl don't. But we can definitely give them a little taste of their own medicine, a fraction of the pain they caused others. A temporary black eye won't stop them from continuing their evil doings, and that's where the legal system has failed us (after bad parenting of course). Though, this does kinda go against the whole thing of "Teach you a lesson," where u beat them and they're good again tada! But let's be real, the "teaching" and "reforming" is just the noble little bow the show ties on top. The actual goal, the thing that makes it satisfying, is retribution. Justice served COLD. These kids aren't getting healed, half of them are unteachable and the show low-key knows it. It's just hiding behind the whole "we're making them better people" act. And listen, I don't mind that one bit. Drop the disguise and beat those bullies to a pulp lol 😤 Just don't sell me "reform" and then show me a hardened criminal turning into a honorable citizen.

Anyway, the premise is honestly kind of great. The ERPB basically runs on a "if words work, use your words, and if beating works, then beat them" philosophy. It's a jab at how in Korea right now it's all student rights this, you can't touch them that, and meanwhile the kids can do literally anything and walk away clean. Is it realistic? Absolutely not lmao. But we are NOT here for realism. We are here for the satisfaction. So we play along ✨And for the first 4-5 episodes?? chef's kiss. The punishment actually fit the crime. It felt satisfying. The early bad kids were a different kind of genuinely rotten, and watching them get handled was exactly the catharsis I came for.

But then it started slipping.

And here's my biggest structural gripe: even when a setting is unrealistic, it still has to stay inside the realm of LOGIC. You can't have a kid who's been beaten down repeatedly with no change, who openly doesn't care about the law or consequences or anything, suddenly do a complete personality 180 and become a reformed angel after like… two slaps to the face?? That's not how people work 😭 The gangster high schooler is the worst offender of this. One minute hardened delinquent, next minute totally rehabilitated golden retriever because the ERPB "finished" with him. Be so for real. I think best and most realistic one was the first guy and also the 14 yos and the way they saw the horror of life in prison, got their beating and DID in fact pay for their crime even tho they were underage and thought it was a shield.

Credit where it's due though, it doesn't just do students bullying students on a loop. It comes at it from every angle: parents bullying teachers, teachers bullying parents, parents abusing their own kids, false accusations, all of it. I really appreciated that. There's a storyline about how anyone can just throw out an accusation (like SA) and have it stick with zero evidence, though I'll note that's honestly the opposite of reality in Korea, where girls are usually terrified to come forward because no one believes them and they just get ostracized. But in this one a famous girl accuses a teacher online, nukes his reputation, and the man ends himself what? basically the same day??? Like he didn't even wait for police or anything, just "the stain's on me now so that's that, f my family, my life, everything, I'm out." Reactions are SO over the top. Things happen just to happen so we can have a Plot™. One other annoying and kinda stupid thing was the kindergarten teacher. I can 100% understand her pain with parents like that, but why would she answer. Why would she care what the parent said? i get that not everyone can stand up for themselves but come on... also you wanted to hang yourself from a streamer girl??? that was pinned to the ceiling????

And then we got the main villain. Evil to the CORE. He killed the ML's wife purely because she found out he was dealing drugs, and instead of exposing him she pulled the "no no you can change, I can fix you 🥺" pick-me angle and he just… killed her. Like aight bet, I'll do my 2 years and come back and sell again 🤷" Comes out, kills another student, attempts to kill the ML, AND tries to take out a second student mid-fight so the ML won't fight back. This man is a murderer and a full psychopath. He deserves PAIN.

So you spend TEN episodes wanting to see this guy get absolutely demolished. You NEED it. And the ending? He gets the least punishment out of literally anyone in the whole show. The ML, after getting STABBED, and the entire story of his fiancé and how the guy doesn't even regret it even a bit, just slaps him three or four times. That's it. And the guy isn't even repentant, he's like "what are you, Jesus?" and the ML goes "my wife would've given you a chance, so I'll give you one too. and Yes, I'm jesus."

I'm sorry WHAT 😀 Defuq??? After everything?? He just gets walked to a police car and that's the resolution. His crimes: Drug dealing and ATTEMPTED murder. ATTEMPTED!!!!!!! The single most unsatisfying payoff in a show whose entire reason for existing is satisfying payoffs 🥲 Now if they showed him in prison living life in hell, that would have fix it. But they didn't and from what they showed the 2 years he was in prison was a walk in the park, a breeze through the trees, a peck on the neck or whatever.

Also, The 10th episode is a full sprint too, you can feel it rushing. like as if you're watching in x2 speed.

The second leads I could not care less about, the romance was forced with zero chemistry, and the FL? They hype her up as this unhinged crazier-than-the-ML force of nature, but she mostly just screams like a banshee and throws a couple little MMA jabs?? They tell us she'd kill you and then show us a circus-crazy girl doing light taps. And the comedy got worse and worse, more random and goofy as it went. When a show is slapstick from minute one, fine, it can do anything. But when it starts subtle and then slowly dips its toe into broad goofy comedy? It just doesn't land.

Scoring this was a journey. It started as a solid 8. The middle knocked it to a 7.5. But that ending, and the fact that endings genuinely affect how I feel about the WHOLE show, dragged it all the way down to a 6. A low-tier 6. And typing all this out is honestly tempting me to go lower… but I did really enjoy the first half, so I'll keep it.

Great start. Deflating ending.

Emz somewhat recommends, but only if you can make peace with not getting the full catharsis it promised ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜

Boring

This drama is a pretty typical BL series, and honestly, I found it quite boring. One of the biggest problems for me was that it kept repeating the same things again and again. The same situations, emotions, and conflicts seemed to come back repeatedly, which made the story feel dragged out and less engaging.

That said, all three couples have good chemistry, which is probably one of the drama's strongest points. The acting is decent overall, and the chemistry between the actors helps keep the drama watchable even when the story becomes repetitive.

Arnold was definitely my favorite character. I really liked his personality. I also like Tua, but after watching several of his works, I don't feel that his acting has improved much. Still, because Arnold and Tua have good chemistry together, it wasn't a big issue for me, and I enjoyed their scenes.

As for Dean and Jack, I don't dislike them as a couple, but I can't say I'm a fan either. My main issue is that these two actors seem to play very similar characters in every drama they're in. Their dramas often have the same kind of storyline, and their acting styles feel very similar each time, which makes their pairing less interesting for me.

As for Jeff and Raffy, I think they're a bit different. Individually, neither actor stands out that much to me when acting alone, but when they're together, they have incredible chemistry. Their scenes feel natural and enjoyable, and they really bring out the best in each other. They ended up being one of the highlights of the drama for me.

Overall, this drama is watchable if you're looking for a light BL with good chemistry between the couples. However, the repetitive storytelling and slow pacing made it difficult for me to stay interested. I ended up skipping quite a few scenes because the story felt unnecessarily stretched out. It's not a bad drama, but it wasn't particularly memorable for me.
