A must watch!

This drama is definitely one of the best among those of its genre! I will start off by applauding how everything about it is consistent enough for one to be hooked on watching it from beginning till end. Despite being more saturated on the mystery and thriller side, there’s just the right amount of romance to give it a perfect balance without making it overwhelming or underwhelming.

If you are wondering whether to watch it or not, here’s your sign to go for it! It really is that good. They really did justice to the drama through the casting, acting and storyline. If you are looking for a drama with a lot of fluffy romantic scenes this definitely isn’t the one🫠 It is more inclined towards the investigative, police department, crime scenes and suspense side.

A noteworthy point is how we are dealing with strong leads. Each of them had a background story which was heartbreaking and somewhat traumatic but the drama didn’t dwell much on that to sink the bigger picture rather, it was a stepping stone to allow the bigger picture to shine. Throughout the story you can clearly see how we are dealing with clever people, yes misunderstandings arose but they were quickly resolved, decisions were made rationally without clouded judgement.

The plot twists in this drama are bound to keep you glued to the screen as some unexpected and thrilling moments arise. A psychological tag should be added on the list because most parts of the story showed how it’s rooted in the psychological aspects of one’s life. The main highlight of the drama is how major events in the drama were drawn towards or due to psychological issues. Be it the villain’s tendencies, the male lead’s personality post traumatic events and even some side characters’ habit were greatly psychologically rooted.

There’s no single actor or actress l can pinpoint who failed to bring their respective character to life. What’s most impressive is how the whole cast portrayed their roles so precisely that one can actually be tagged along in the emotions they conveyed. Umm l hated to be one to say this but this drama’s main villain has to be the sassiest one l have seen so far! Zhao Xun absolutely nailed the double villain role without a doubt keeping us intrigued on what was in store for us next. I do not intend to spoil too much for you but the villain was brought to life in a top tier manner! Words cannot fully describe how Jing Bo Ran carried his role through all the rollercoaster emotional moments his character had to endure. Jiang Cheng’s story still left me with so many questions and emotions racing through my mind because it really progressed in an unexpected manner. The female lead took the script and said, “Hold my beer!” It’s impressive when a great and admirable fictional character is brought to life in a spectacular manner.

One thing that may make one skeptical about watching the drama is the relationship dynamics among the leads. At some point l too was frustrated on how the love story was going to unfold 😫 However, l like that as the story progressed and the truth unfolded everything became clearer. Be it the misunderstandings or confusion, it’s all justified and understandable😂. We were not left second guessing who’s who or what the female lead really wanted. It’s also refreshing to watch how the female lead was a decisive woman who did not have the tendency to lead someone on aimlessly. Out of all the relationships in this drama, Jiang Han Sheng and professor Wan had the most wholesome one! He really played a father figure to him throughout the drama in a really admirable manner.

Though romance is not an overly explored subject in the drama, l liked the relationship between Han Sheng and Jin, it wasn’t a sugar coated one. They didn’t take their marriage lightly regardless of how it started. Though it wasn’t puppy love, it’s the subtle details and acts they did between them which made their love story progression tear jerking. Initially, it was irritating how sometimes the male lead seemed to have low self esteem drawn from his and the female lead’s past experiences but l admire how they showed us both leads’ character development throughout the show. It’s plausible how by the end of the show we could clearly see how they had matured and grown through their past experiences blooming emotionally individually and as a couple. I like how the three leads dealt with their relationship maturely, putting what was important first before anything else!

Lastly, the ending was a cherry on top! “Among all the sunsets, secrets and regrets, l am glad l have you!”

Not a story to comfort, but to understand

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Between the Lines
igiam’s reflections on drama, character and hidden meaning
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

— At the final stop, we all get off

I didn’t connect with the beliefs shown in this film.

Some rituals felt distant to me, even uncomfortable at times.

But beyond that, there is something much more universal at its core — a message that is deeply human and worth reflecting on.

“The Last Dance” is not really about death. It’s about how we face life, how we deal with loss, and how we understand the time we are given.

One of the lines that stayed with me is:

“Life is like a bus. When it reaches the final stop, you have to get off.”

Simple, but undeniable.

The film also explores fear — especially the fear of living, not just dying.

Through Dominic, we see a very honest perspective: life is difficult, unpredictable, sometimes unfair… but still a gift.

And maybe that’s the point.

You don’t have to agree with everything to learn something from it.

This is not a comforting story.
It’s a reflective one.

Still enjoyable after many years

I’m really late to the game on this one but for a show that’s over 10 years old it really holds up well. it’s a really good mix of drama and romance. If you don’t like shows centered around hospitals and medicine it might not be for you. The other focus on marriages, relationships, parent/child dynamics, and career choices were done really well. it also wasn’t too heavy and depressing. As for the cast, they were all perfect in their roles. I’m a bit biased since I love the ML and it was so nice to see him in a lead role where he was perfect. One funny cast note were two actors who are both in the recent drama Four Eagle Brothers. The type cast evil MIL played the same character although she was not as evil. The chief was her son in law in that drama although he doesn’t get much screen time. This is only my second time seeing him and I thought his performance was great. I give this a solid 9.

this is one of the best army action series

(first time writing a review btw)
i honestly loved this series , both the season s were really goood and i noticed that people liked the first season more but In my opinion I liked the second one. I liked the friendship between cpt lim ji seop and sergent beom gu,at first they were in bad terms but after they started working together, their bond was really Goodd and of course my favv an junho and ho gyeol, them catching deserted solider s was one of the funniest thing and emotional too , i liked how it was a rollercoaster ride , planning, catching, understanding them and etc. i cried the most in that where a queer , nina was deserted and they had to catch her, she had big dreams , she was talented but her death was so sad . oh and i also liked how the series didn't show an immediate win , as most of the shows would have shown that ,"yess we got the Evidence and now bad guys in jail" but it was nothing like that it just showed that there is still a lot of things to change and it can't be changed just because of a pendrive , I think it was an open ending.. well whatever i wrote too much , there is a lot of things in this series so so watchhh

Seriously Boring ?

i felt the frustration of dating and stress being in Korea society where status, income and family matters more than compatabilty and companionship.

The script and dialogue was boring and often awkward. the overall feeling of the drama seemed meloncolc (not romantic comedy). Was it just the acting by leads Han Ji Mn, Park Sung Hoon and Lee Ki Taek and others or the script?

FL Han Ji Min seems to play angry, sad, arrogant, immature, stiff and uptight roles. This was the same personality type as in Love Scout and Behind Uour Touch. She seems incapable of having chemistry with her costars even in a happy situation she has a fake laugh and forced smile. At 40 + this is not good acting.

ML Park Sung Hoon’s character was also a bit strained but he knew what he wanted. But who goes on a blind date and at the first meeting talks about marriage? unrealistic. furthermore who sits back and waits while the person he likes goes on multiple blind dates and several dstes with another man. Does this ever happen. I’m not one for jealousy but seriously he acted like a door mat. I’m sure this was how the script was written’cliche’ triangle romance. But seriously this was not acceptable.

The second leads were happily ‘in love’ but they split up because 2FL was on a dating spp??? Scenario was opposite to first leads and it felt like conservative moralising, which became a real turnoff.

Meeting the mum was excrutiating !!

The best bit was the end. scenery of Seoul in background was beautiful.

Time and the Bracelet

The entire story revolves around a single bracelet—one shared between the female lead (FL) and the male lead (ML). This bracelet holds the power to move through time, binding their fates across different lifetimes.

The FL searches for this bracelet, driven by a haunting question: Who is the man in her dreams—the one she calls her husband?

The ML, an emperor of a small state, once gifted a bracelet, along with its power. In return, the goddess asked only one thing—that he to care for her daughter.

Their story unfolds across three timelines.

In the first two timelines, both the FL and ML lose their memories of what they shared—their love, their pain, their history—each time starting over yet always drawn back to one another.

By the third timeline, the ML no longer remembers her at all. He only catches glimpses of her as she slips through time, like a shadow he cannot quite hold onto. It is here that the FL finally understands the truth—he has always been the one beside her, in every life, in every moment.

When the heavens prepare to strike her down, the ML steps in without hesitation, taking the divine punishment meant for her. He dies in her place.

Refusing to accept this fate, the FL uses the bracelet one final time. She turns back time to the moment before the heavenly strike—but this time, she steps forward.

The punishment was always meant for her. She is the daughter of a goddess.

Standing before the heavens, she defies them, declaring that no one—god or mortal—should be denied the right to love. In response, the heavens strike her one final time, stripping her of her divinity and casting her down. Her punishment is not death, but something more human—a life of her own, without the power of a god.

With her last wish, she asks for only one thing: to be with him again.

The story ends with her returned to a moment just before the ML’s death in battle against his brother. Alone, she is kneeing on the ground in silence… until she hears footsteps.

She turns.

He is walking toward her.

They meet each other’s eyes and smile—both understanding, without needing words, that they have been given one more chance.

Not as gods.
Not as rulers.

Just as two people… finally allowed to love.

Loved the slow-burn romance. The relationship between the leads develops gradually, and what I loved most was how much emotion was conveyed through silence and subtle expressions. The intense gazes and quiet moments between them created a strong sense of chemistry that gave me butterflies.

One of the most memorable scenes was the kiss before Zheng leaves. It felt emotional and intense, not just romantic, because you could feel the weight of everything they weren’t saying to each other.

The plot follows a familiar direction — a fake marriage that slowly turns into real love, only to be tested by separation and war. It’s not the most original storyline, but the screenplay is well done and keeps you engaged throughout. It may not feel completely new, but it’s still very entertaining.

I started watching this mainly for Zhang Linghe, and he didn’t disappoint. His acting feels very natural, and he has a very expressive face that fits this kind of quiet, emotional role. He doesn’t overdo anything, which makes his performance feel genuine.

The female lead was also very good — her acting felt sincere and natural, and she matched his energy well on screen.

WARNING: Mature audiences only -The most daring and courageous series in the BL genre

PLOT: A straight man with orgasm problems hires a therapist for four sessions. The therapist will help him discover/explore his true sexuality.

+++ Kudos to the actors! (They must have been in good physical shape :) Seriously, it takes courage to be so vulnerable (so exposed) in a performance.
+++ The direction is masterful: the symbolism of the colors, the alternation between reality (the bed) and the bare setting (emotions), the perfectly controlled pacing, the beauty of the visuals (it's not porn, it's almost art/dance), etc.
I won't dwell on it; AnonymousMiscellaneous has perfectly analyzed all of this in her/his review.
+++ The storyline is simple, from initial surprise to developing an attachment to the therapist (a classic trope in therapy).
+++ The series length is perfect; it couldn't be longer or shorter.
+++ The soundtracks perfectly complement the emotions.

=> A disturbing and thought-provoking series. I admire the courage it must have taken for the team to bring this series to the screen!
************************************************
WARNING for mature audience only

The essence of love is to be seen

No amount of words can truly capture how much I love Mr. Sunshine—more precisely, how much I love Eugene Choi and Go Ae-shin.

At first, I was actually disappointed with the casting of the leads, and that disappointment extended to Kim Eun-sook as well. After all these years, I tried to break down my own bias against the age gap and chose to trust her—her judgment, her writing. Though, to be honest, I’ve often dropped her dramas midway.

And yet, somehow, this became the first drama where I could rewatch the scenes between the leads over and over again. The pacing is slow—slower even than Goblin—and it truly tested my patience. In the end, even my impatience was worn down.

Gradually, I found myself drawn to the ordinary, almost insignificant interactions between Eugene Choi and Go Ae-shin—especially when I started paying close attention to their eyes.

They have such captivating eyes, eyes that carry every shade of emotion. Sometimes, you don’t even need to look at their entire faces—just their eyes are enough.

Whenever they look at each other, their love simply flows through their gaze.

And perhaps it’s precisely because their eyes are so profound… that they are impossible to forget.

MY BABIES

Amazing cinematography, i feel empty after finishing this. This is the second drama that made me feel this way - the first was The First Frost.

No notes, I love love love the main leads, love lin'an town, love yanzheng and changyu.

Though the story isn't 100% for me because i expected better fighting scenes, and towards the end it got pretty politically heavy and the end fight scene didn't live up to my expectations.

Comedic but too long for a rom com

SO MANY PLOT HOLES. I’m unsure whether this is due to translation or editing.

How i sat through 32 episodes of this drama is beyond me. I can’t say it is all bad - there were moments I laughed out loud (though I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve just given in and extremely lowered my expectations). The side actors (the colleagues) have A LOT of room for improvement, their acting felt very 2000 dramas.

I started this drama expecting it to bring mature and healthy adult relationships, BOY THE REVIEWS ARE LYING. These two are high on the immature leads!! Sure in terms of business they were smart, and realistic (someone said that the leads are over the top geniuses and more similar to real people in the workforce, which I agree.) but in their romantic relationship GAH, HOW MANY TIMES DID I YELL “COMMUNICATE! WITH! EACH! OTHER!”.

Their whole relationship they take turns making their own assumptions, throw a tantrum, argue with each other but NEVER address the problem, then he’ll wrist grab her and kiss. Repeat for 15 episodes.

This had so much potential had they chosen a specific trope to focus and build on, they could’ve done rich girl x poor guy (he isn’t even that poor anymore but they keep mentioning it?), the boss FL x employee ML, reunited high school sweethearts, and soo many more. instead they combined all these tropes and lots more other tropes altogether, which resulted in unfleshed storylines - the FL’s relationship with her mother didn’t get explored, nor did the ML’s relationship with his father, the ML’s main personality trait was his love for space and this was squeezed and shoved at us in the last two episodes, the girl is somehow a famous streamer (???) and this was mentioned in eps 1 and eps 32????

I have to say the writing, directing and editing is very very poor. This would've been better if it was 24-28 episode.

But if you can overlook the illogical plot, office politics and bad side acting, the main leads were funny, had good chemistry and carried the comedy well.

Skip

This drama was soooo boring. But worse, it was rage inducing at times. Phat's whole family just gaslighting him like it's no big deal makes me want to punch someone. What's worse is this is never really addressed either.
And for the main couple, these is really nothing here. It's a cute romance, but honestly Hill's character is what makes the entire show worse than it otherwise could have been. I'm just tired of writers making a character overly brain dead and expect the audience to find it endearing. It's not! What is endearing about his character is his forgiving and sweet nature that is rarely showcased, or when it is, its not utilized to its full potential. For example, when Hill took Junji on the date, it was for the task, but him making the festival for Junji was just Hill wanting to make someone he cared about happy and there should have been a clearer divide between these two things to emphasize why Junji couldn't help falling in love with Hill. I think I'm more pissed off because the plot is fun and the elements where there, and we get this.

✨ Pretty Chaos, Zero Expectations, Maximum Vibes ✨

Okay, I’m actually having a lot of fun with this one, y’all.

This is very much a “turn your brain to soft mode and just go with the flow” kind of drama—and honestly, that’s exactly where it thrives. The visuals are genuinely beautiful, very fairytale-coded, soft and dreamy in a way that carries a lot of the experience.

The ML is a highlight for me—his comedic timing and facial expressions are doing work. He clearly understands the assignment and leans into it. The FL is cute and watchable; yes, she has room to grow, but she fits the tone of the drama well enough that it doesn’t take me out of it. I’m not going into this expecting a lyrical masterpiece, and I think that mindset helps.

Plot-wise, it’s very on-brand for the genre: a bit chaotic at first, with some love-hate dynamics and a touch of confusion—but things do start connecting as the story unfolds. The pacing is chaotic, but I’m still invested at episode 16, which says something. The chemistry is there, the kisses are convincing, and I care enough to keep clicking “next episode,” so… mission accomplished.

This is for those days when you don’t want to commit to a 40-episode emotional marathon but still want something pretty, entertaining, and a little unhinged in a fun way.

All in all: flawed, fast, a little chaotic—but undeniably enjoyable if you meet it where it is. ✨

✨Update✨
Alright, I’ve finally crossed the finish line and not only does it keep the vibe till the end, but it also delivers a last minute happy ending (don’t ask me for logic, I have none to give, just vibes).
