Understands the cost of violence and isn't afraid to sit with it
Filled with an ominous mixture of brotherhood and pessimism, The Avenging Eagle treats guilt and identity not as passing motivations, but as burdens that shape every decision we make. The well-worn narrative hooks of a killer seeking redemption are treated in a compact and free-spirited way, with a persistent sense of inevitability, almost fatalistic, hanging over the proceedings, but equally jumping from the present to the past with an energetic free spirit. Sun Chung is a director fully in control of the action, with a beauty in his scale and framing. It's definitely one of the prettiest Shaw Brothers productions around, thanks to its exquisite colour palette and extensive use of actual locations, rather than the more studio-bound productions. The action is certainly sharp and purposeful, never feeling gratuitous, with some relatively impressive flow and choreography. However, it can be exceptionally gimmicky with its overuse of choppy slow-motion and unintentionally hilarious freeze frames to emphasise moments of tension. However, this can be easily overlooked thanks to the dynamic performances of the three main cast members, Ti Lung and Alexander Fu Sheng command the screen as consummate warriors united in tragedy, while Ku Feng provides a suitably wicked foe for the pair; they certainly give the lyrical script a lease of life. Offering a careful balance of melancholic, reflective and occasionally bleak storytelling, The Avenging Eagle understands the cost of violence and isn't afraid to sit with it, a lean, mean story of vengeance and redemption that offers a dark and punchy treat. Was this review helpful to you?

Rage on the Farm: You Reap What You Scheme
I picked up Romance on the Farm as a palate cleanser, something like a cup of light roast coffee to balance out the heavy, emotionally taxing dramas on my watchlist. With only 26 episodes and a familiar “entering a game world” premise, I expected a breezy, no-brainer ride. The kind you watch with your brain on standby mode. Instead, what I got was a show that had me fuming, my patience tested, and my blood pressure doing interval training. The story follows Lian Man Er, who enters a virtual game and finds herself living as part of the chaotic Lian family in a rural village. Along the way, she meets Shen Nuo, and together they navigate family conflicts, farming ventures, small business ambitions, and some covert missions on the side. On paper, it sounds like a balanced mix of slice of life and light adventure. In execution, it leans heavily into family drama that feels less like storytelling and more like emotional warfare.
I went in telling myself not to get invested. Game world stories rarely stick the landing, and the awareness that everything is “just virtual” usually creates a layer of detachment. Ironically, that awareness made the frustration worse. Watching Man Er endure the Lian family’s relentless schemes while knowing she understands it is a constructed world made it all the more baffling. The household itself is pure chaos. Grandma Lian screams like it is her full-time job, the extended family schemes non-stop, and Man Er’s parents have the combined backbone of overcooked noodles.
The conflicts are not your typical petty family squabbles either. They are extreme to the point of disbelief. We are talking about forced marriage to become a burned widow for a dead man, intentional harm leading to miscarriage, and repeated attempts to ruin lives without consequence. What truly fuels the frustration is the lack of accountability. The elders constantly forgive these actions, brushing them aside in the name of family unity. Man Er’s father, in particular, is the embodiment of misplaced filial piety. He stays silent when his daughter is nearly sacrificed but suddenly finds his voice when his sister is wronged. The inconsistency is so glaring that it almost feels like unintentional satire.
Even after the family “separates,” they are still essentially living under the same roof, just divided by a wall. Predictably, the schemes continue, and so does the cycle of wrongdoing followed by easy forgiveness. Man Er herself adds to the frustration. For someone with modern awareness, her naivety is difficult to ignore. She rarely stays guarded, even around those who have harmed her before, and often falls into situations where she needs rescuing. It is a bit of a damsel in distress loop that grows tiring over time.
The drama places heavy emphasis on the sanctity of family, almost to an exaggerated degree. It pushes the idea that blood ties justify everything, no matter how extreme the wrongdoing. This makes the eventual harmonious ending feel staged and unearned. Character shifts, especially for figures like Grandma Lian, happen so abruptly that it feels like a switch was flipped rather than a journey completed. Some side characters show believable growth through consequences, but others seem to change simply because the script demands a happy ending.
The game premise, unsurprisingly, does not fully deliver either. The conclusion in the real world feels incomplete, almost like an afterthought. Without the special episode, the ending would have landed even flatter. Even then, it leans into the classic ambiguity trope, hinting at connections rather than committing to them. It is the kind of ending that makes you go, “That’s it?” rather than leaving a lasting impression.
There are also moments of questionable morality presented under the guise of justice. Shen Nuo, despite being one of the more likable characters, participates in actions that indirectly cause harm to Man Er, such as the wine incident that leaves her drowning in debt. While he later compensates for it, the situation highlights a double standard in how justice is carried out. It raises the question of how many others might have been collateral damage under similar assumptions.
That said, Shen Nuo does stand out as a character. His calm demeanor, intelligence, and steady sense of justice make him more compelling than most. His relationship with Man Er develops gradually, which is a refreshing change from instant love tropes. His quiet affection and composed approach to romance are easily some of the drama’s highlights. The way he handles love rivals with respect instead of sabotage is surprisingly mature.
Speaking of rivals, the second male lead, Wang You Heng, is almost too good for this world. He is thoughtful, patient, and genuinely supportive. His gestures, like lighting fireworks simply because it would make Man Er happy, add a layer of sincerity that hits harder than grand romantic declarations. Watching him stand there, holding those fireworks while witnessing Man Er’s turning point with Shen Nuo, is the kind of soft heartbreak that lingers.
The supporting cast is a mixed bag, leaning heavily toward frustrating. However, a few bright spots do exist, including the loyal Chang Feng, the kind-hearted cousin Lian Ye Er, and You Heng’s family. These characters provide brief moments of relief in an otherwise tension-heavy narrative.
One area where the drama truly shines is its production quality. The visuals are surprisingly polished, with well-balanced color grading and lighting that enhances the mood of each scene. The rural setting is captured beautifully, and there is clear attention to detail in costume and styling to distinguish between social classes and character progression. Even the action sequences are handled with care, adding a layer of visual engagement that keeps the show watchable despite its narrative frustrations.
In the end, Romance on the Farm feels like a misleading title. The romance exists, but it is not the main dish. It is more like a side garnish to an overwhelming serving of family drama. Despite all its flaws, it remains oddly entertaining in a “why am I still watching this” kind of way. If you go in expecting logic, consistency, or emotional payoff, you might come out disappointed. But if you treat it like a chaotic rollercoaster and keep your expectations in check, it can still be an engaging, if slightly rage-inducing, watch.

A totally wacky BL comedy with a Japanese-Thai cast.
PLOT: Hill, a nerdy game developer in a relationship with Yuka (a main character from a game), is recruited by the company that created the game, now run by Junji, a very Japanese boss. Junji announces Yuka's retirement and tasks Hill with creating a new game, this time with a male main character. The team ultimately decides that Junji will be the model for this new protagonist.+++ I really like March and I'm looking forward to his next series.
+++ It's brave of Mukai Koji (singer/actor in thrillers) to have accepted this role.
### However, his (very Japanese) stoic acting style, his discomfort with physical contact, while effectively conveying the cultural differences between Japan and Thailand, struggles to fit into a BL with very expressive (sometimes overly so) Thai actors.
### Very Japanese OSTs (in the energetic kind)
### Hard to get into the first few episodes. Better after episode 5.
### Story so formulaic: when the CL is formed, betrayal, scandal within the company, etc.
### Subject of the RIDICULOUS scandal: finding out who inspired the MC of a game 10 years ago, when the game no longer has updates and is about to be abandoned? And this is making headlines in the gossip columns? Seriously?
This story arc treats the viewers like idiots. ლಠ益ಠ)ლ
=> Sorry, for me, it just doesn't work. The Japanese-Thai mix is strange, uncomfortable, and ended only thanks to my friend FF.

Had great potential for a full length drama
This short web drama has such potential for full length drama episodes, the story was quite interesting and because of the short time frame plus number of eps it lacked in many places. The ending was a little confusing and felt rushed like scenes or info was missing. The acting was okay and the main actress is super pretty! I wish they gave us more back info on the accident and how their bodies truly switched, have many what ifs with this web drama. If someone likes short and sweet this is greatWas this review helpful to you?

The characters, relationship dynamics and cinematography made up for a poorly executed plot.
This show proves that beautiful leads, engaging relationship dynamics and sweeping cinematography can save a decent but poorly executed plot. It really highlights how productions sacrifice certain aspects of a drama and elevate others to suit their target audience - but doesn’t the idol drama fan also value a tight and well executed plot? The MDL ratings show us that maybe not so much! Now I am well aware of my western bias, so I am willing to admit that my confusion about the history and politics of this realm may not have been as much of an issue for Chinese viewers. Despite all of that, I still thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful spectacle of the leads and humble side characters. I was willing to overlook the ridiculous beauty of the main leads, the unrealistic depictions of battle, the lack of sun damage on faces that spend most of their time outside, the perfectly manicured hands of seasoned soldiers and butchers and much more - because it was all so beautiful and emotionally compelling by design. I cried, I laughed, I swooned - all while not understanding (and ultimately not really caring about) many aspects of the main plot.
This was an enjoyable watch - I was swept up in the hype and totally satisfied by the escapism it provided. Is it a rewatch? Not in its entirety, but I will probably watch specific scenes and edits. Will I seek out other shows starring the leads? Maybe not their back catalogue but definitely their future projects. Will I recommend it to others? Maybe just to asian drama fans and carefully chosen others. Is it one of my favourite dramas of all time? Not really, but maybe top 20!

Omg heavy ... ! but educational, star-studded thriller melo psych drama
Wow star studded cast and a great thriller psychological drama!Wow so many kdrama stars in this drama!!! it is a fabulous cast!!!!
Why are some ppl frustrated with the ending?? It is a VERY clear ending - FL AND ML BECOME A COUPLE, MIN DECIDES TO COME BACK TO HIS HYONG, the Team survived, and the murderer is on the run in Korea and plans to cause trouble - and plans to meet them again...
So the ending is crispy crytal clear, nothing is open !!!!! it is very definite and specific
The only issue I found sometimes is the cold arrogant superior ML and dumb emotional overreactive FL - that specific flavor of deep sh.t sexism, the chronic disease in asian dramas...
FL is made the dumbest person around and too much plot is based in her stupidities and her being a nurse to ML who is abusive and cold towards her - and the only other female characer was super stupid too - REALLY DUMB - didnot leave any messages that she got the fingerprints, did not personally go to other ppls offices but went into a parking lot with her brief - HOW STUPID IS THAT????? DUMB DUMB DUMB and FL also was doing similar dumb stuff - so ML had to save her... STUPID SAME OLD SEXIST TRASH
AND
actors who look alive, not like skeletons and porcelan dolls like in year 2026 where BMI of 13 is desirable and all actors look lifeless and malnourished... !!!!
Also, I loved all the actors with Asian slanted eyes! wow such gorgeous men!!!! ML and Idol I ML are totally totally gorgeous
I really enjoyed seeing physically fit, athletic and muscular people with a properly functioning hormonal system, their complexion is something that so many are trying to achieve.
I cannot stand gaunty skeletons in newer dramas. So bye bye to that.
so FROM NOW ON:
I am wathing only physically fit healthy people on the screen - physically fit appropriate for their age, gender, body type, and general circumstances and health - everyone can be "physically fit" to the best of THEIR ability
If there is no new kdrama with those kinds of actors:
I AM WATCHING OLDER KDRAMAS

Good fight scenes.
This drama was made for the male audience who enjoy good fighting action scenes, from boxing to taekwondo fights. As for the females we get to enjoy seeing the abs... although some deaths were abit gory for me but i had to watch season 2 to know what happens to the boys. There were certain dialogues that felt flat but still got through them. One can watch this season as a standalone but certain characters have been reprised from season 1 and had good stories and it would be a shame not knowing their storylines.I believe they went all in in this season because season 1 ended somewhat mired with scandal outside the series...Rain did an amazing job in being a villain here,he does prove himself in being an actor. With the Seo Joon and Dex appearing,it does give the impression there will be a season 3.Was this review helpful to you?
Two adorable and talented leads can do no wrong
Things I adored1 The leads. Not because their characters were extraordinary but because just watching them fall in love brought a smile a in my life and that's enough reason to adore them.
2 The FL. She's such a positive and adorable character. I love that she's kind but also driven and has dreams others than falling in love. Ester Yu plays the role perfectly and although I think I'll never love her more than in Moonlight, she's great in this drama as well.
3 The ML. I didn't fall in love with him in the Keep your head on my shoulder drama although I understand why he became a star. I didn't like any of his recent dramas either, so I wanted to find something where I would love him and this one did id. He embodies perfectly his role and his chemistry with Ester Yu is great. I'd love to see them again together.
4 The proposal. I welled up. It was so cute, so romantic, so original, so funny, so fitting. I adored it.
Things I loved
1 I'm not a snow girl, but I loved that it was different and about a sport I don't follow but I find interesting. I loved the setting and the scenery was breathtaking sometimes.
2 The secondary characters, I loved all of them. I was irritated a few times by the 2FL but at the end of the day they were all adorable and so relatable. I loved the relationship between them, all of them.
3 I loved the ML sister and how she entered the frame. It was cute and I loved her relationship with the FL as well. Truly one of the most adorable dramas I've ever seen.
3 I loved the competition angle. I rarely find dramas I like with a competition premise. One i loved was Gank your Heart, but this one was also interesting, although not in the same level as Gank you Heart.

CUTE LOVE STORY YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH.
I wish i could have my memory of this drama erased so i get to watch it again and indulge in it.Its been a while since i watched a Thai bl and enjoyed it immensely. This drama had me searching for the novel to read because i loved the story and wanted to know what happens next.Teetee and Por have done an amazing job with this series and one can see they are comfortable with each other and are serious with their roles.Honestly Duang's character is not that cringey as one would expect...plus he is just quirky to the people around him and comfortable with who he is.Was this review helpful to you?
Don't just start after watching the trailer!!!
Okay the trailer of the drama was pretty impressive and given the vibe that main female head has anti heroine kind of role but when you got into the drama you know by just few episodes that its not the case and it's a typical role onlyStory:
Story is decent nothing to complain or praise here
Screenplay:
Some episodes are good while some are bit boring and predictable
Music and OST:
They have mostly used two songs and that along with other bgms are good
Overall:
A decent one time watch

Everything great about the show
I have to say that Love you teacher is the best bl that is out right now.Firstly I love the plot of the show it’s so different from other bls because for once the couple is actually together from beginning of the show and the plot is so lovely, they are both teachers but one only became a teacher because of his boyfriend, isn’t that so cute he loved his boyfriend so much that he followed him to teach kids that he doesn’t even like. Also, it’s about a man staying and taking care of his sick partner who sometimes wakes up as a kid when he doesn’t like kids and that is so rare to find a man that will take care of his sick partner.
Next, I have to say that Perth and Santas acting is amazing because you can really see the pain that Pobmek is going through whilst taking care of solar especially when he first took him home from the hospital. Santas acting as Solar and Sun is really good because you can always tell when it is solar or sun, he has done an impeccable job of portraying as a 7 year old kid.
Thirdly, the director Dome did a great job with the script and with the casting for the show, he has created the perfect show.
Fourth, the music in the show is really fitting for every scene and sounds lovely.
Lastly, the cinematography is amazing the camera quality throughout the series is really good and as the director Dome says “every frame is a painting” it is so beautiful to look at.

Good for the night
This is an easy quick watch, small windows in to the lives of a few ofice workers in diffrent places in life, having different relationships with each a set of problems of their own.the characters are all interesting, though the windows are a bit to small and the main couple got a bit to much of the screen time I enjoyed the realistic way they showed their insecurities, consent, and attempts to experiencing sex for the first time. Navigating expectations with fear and a whole lot of insecurities,
