Im rewatching it.

Its a little bit fluffy in places but in a good way. ZeeNu always bring charm. I dont want to spoil it so I will just say if you want a BL fairytale it is wirth watching. There is not a BL out there like this one so that was a bice change. I like the Disney feel it has too. There is nc but its tasteful and suites the plot. And the visuals are really well done.

The Controversy Behind Lead Actor And The Minor

I cant believe people stan this series. Especially women and people in the lgbtq community. The lead actor Bible is heavily alleged to be the owner of the now deleted homophobic transphobic misogynistic Camonoz 9g account. There is evidence from his father who posted a photo pretty much confirming it to many people. And the CEO of BOC in a live said they workshopped the scenes in 2023 if that is true thats disgusting because one of the actors was underage in 2023. Did they have a seventeen year old workshopping nc scenes with a grown man? Either Pond lied about the timeline of production or these men did workshops with a minor. Which is it?

ONLY WATCHED IT FOR SUPANUT✨️

The story was nothing special and I only watched it because I find Mr. Chris really sweet and adorable.

Not gonna hate, but in my opinion Alan and Jef are one of the most revolting couples I have ever
seen..they just feel so cringe together.

Honestly without Chris I would have dropped it after its first 10 minutes.

A masterpiece and a must watch

A masterpiece.
Truly one of the greatest dramas I’ve ever watched, and easily my all time favourite. I revisit it at least once a year because it’s such a powerful reminder of resilience, family, and overcoming hardship.

The story’s focus on the children born to the main wife, the madam, and the concubine is incredibly compelling. Every character is written with depth and intention. I normally don't pay attention to the villains but after rewatching I really felt their pain.

The acting is phenomenal, the speeches are unforgettable, and it makes such a difference hearing the lead actors use their own voices. The lighting and cinematography are realistic, atmospheric and very immersive (Especially when they are moving around the manor). The line delivery is sharp, the plot makes sense and the character development was a fun ride. Especially for the male lead, he is well written and convincing. I love that he isn’t the typical perfect male lead (or maybe he is with all his flaws); his flaws makes his fall from grace and rise to power even more satisfying.

There was also a decent love line between FL and second male lead. It genuinely made my heart ache.
Also I love granny! So heart warming. An absolute pillar of light and wisdom, everyone needs in their life.

At its core, this drama is a reminder of how difficult it can be to be a woman, yet how much strength, resilience, they can claim for themselves.

"If a persons life is too smooth, they will go blind and deaf. You must be always awake"

I absolutely love it.

Yesterday (2026) – Episode 10

A brutal but meaningful finale that proves love can reshape even the most broken person.

This final episode delivers intense emotional payoff without losing its dark tone. The life-and-death situation forces Kelvin to confront everything he has done, while Weir’s unwavering love becomes the turning point of the story.

What makes this ending powerful is that it’s not simply about redemption, but about transformation. Kelvin doesn’t suddenly become a “good person” — he finally learns what it means to love and be loved.

Fort and Peat both exceeded expectations here. Peat’s performance is consistently strong, but Fort especially shows a deeper range than in previous works.

It’s heavy, painful, and not always comfortable to watch, but the emotional resolution feels earned.

A dark love story with a satisfying, yet bittersweet closure.

The most adorable couple

I rarely give 10/10 but SmartBoom deserves this. Hands down Boom is the cutest human being ever. Where have you been hiding Boom?!

You NEED to watch this series for their love, loyalty, and chemistry. The plot isn't anything special-two actors fall in love. But boy are they IN LOVE. Through thick and thin the most adorable couple ever. They are able to make your heart incredibly happy. But also, I've never seen anything quite like Boom's crying skill. This man will have YOU crying because the depth of emotion to his acting is top notch.

SmartBoom you and MilesApo are my two most beloved couples.

Contender for the worst Chinese film ever made.

There are vanity projects that are hilariously awful but still entertaining to behold. Then there's Pure Hearts: Into Chinese Showbiz. Absolute word vomit of a title aside, I don't think I've ever seen something as hollow and empty as this in my entire life. A glossy, tone-deaf abomination of filmmaking that mistakes clichés and tropes for a narrative. It borders on the dangerously incompetent at times, putting the cast in situations they should never have been placed in, where the Director should have been told no, but given the fact that this film was crowd and government funded, speaks volumes about where his priorities lie. He just wanted to live an extravagant lifestyle and used this film to fund and live it, no matter who he steamrolled over.

A better successor to the original than the actual sequels!

Arriving as a knowingly skewed echo of the heroic bloodshed era, Return to a Better Tomorrow has all the right ingredients of a slick and snazzy slice of action brilliance, playing on all the familiar themes and tropes that come with the territory. As much as the A Better Tomorrow namesake was undoubtedly slapped onto this to sell tickets, it didn't stop Wong Jing from going all out on the production, even with the notable absence of both John Woo and Chow Yun-fat. It's great to see Wong Jing taking himself seriously for once, as this is extremely atypical of his usual bouts of tonal insanity. The film still contains a few jokes here and there, plus a healthy dose of self-awareness, but these don't outright break the film's relentless pacing or its serious tone. There's a clear attempt at emulating the look and feel of the original, even if it's less interested in operatic tragedy and more so in remixing familiar iconography, although that oddly works in the film's favour, delivering plenty of punchy gunfights, splattery violence, dapper trench coats, dual-wielding shotguns and, of course, lots of cool posing! Jing's direction is great, filled with energy and a heavy amount of stylistic flourishes; the photography is extremely colourful, the musical score goes hard, and the performances all around are great, even if characterisation is sketched in bold strokes rather than fine lines. In a period where Hong Kong cinema was already looking back on its own myths, Return to a Better Tomorrow is a highly underrated little gem that has seemingly been lost amongst Wong Jing's blitzkrieg on the industry. It certainly isn't a replacement for the classic it riffs on, nor does it aim to be, although I'm probably committing absolute sacrilege when I say this is a better successor to the original than both II and III.

A neverending story

I was so excited for this drama because the previous shows I watched with Hou Minghao were absolute bangers but this one.... yikes. It was a rollercoaster I didn't like and wanted to get off as soon as possible.

The story follows Xiao Yao as she's caught up in the middle of the continuous feude between Demons and Humans. During a fight among them she discovers that she's part human, part demon but doesn't understand how the hell that happened. Before she can decide what to do the demons take her away to Demon Valley and tell her she can't leave due to her demonic powers and her practicing them. Along the way she makes friends and gets to know the demons. Instead of human eating beast they can be gentle and kind. She even makes friends and becomes very protective of them.
Can she stop the fighting between both worlds?

The plot above seemed interesting to me but I fell for a cheap scheme. Most of the story was dull, too long and most of it didn't make much sense. The characters didn't do much for me. I didn't feel attached to a single one and kind of hoped something interesting would happen. I'm usually a big sucker for romance but this one just felt off. It didn't feel like a real love to me because there was no time for them to actually fall in love. They just decided they were at some point and chose to not live without the other. Or to die protecting the other.

Maybe this is just not the story for me. I really thought it was going to be this epic drama that would blow me away but it never did. I ended up skipping through most of the ending, not really caring about the Feiyu gaurds, the humans or the entire storyline around that demon bat (with a name I keep forgetting) who wants to steal Hong Ye's demon throne. And it just became ridiculous after Xiao Yao started to travel back in time. At that point I started wishing Hong Ye (in his first life) was the manipulating and spiteful human who betrayed the demon queen and killed her entire race just to get to the Yuli Spring but that never happened. Even back then he was a lovestruck boy without any real power.

I really think this show overreached a little. They used great actors but the characters were outright stupid and too goofy. The power level of their demon king was weak ( I mean... that whole "I lost my powers so we have to bluff our way through" thing was silly. It was probably meant as comic relief but it came across as a weird plot).

Like:
- The OST is superb. I fell in love with most of the songs and have added them to my playlist.
- The cast is amazing.
- The costumes are beautiful!

Dislike:
- Most of the earlier episodes are story-to-storyline. Early episodes are filled with stories that are not connected to the main characters and most of the mains are reduced to background characters (as in, you don't see them for a while).
- Dali. They ruined her character for me by doing that "jealousy" arc.
- The main couple. I get that they fall in love over three lifetimes but the way time goes in this show and how time travel is a thing... they just didn't spark for me. I didn't feel the chemistry. They became annoyingly in love at some point. Always choosing each other (even when it was obviously a stupid choice) and I had to roll my eyes so badly they started to hurt.
- The overal storyline. We spend so much time on watching Xiao Yao sit in Demon Academy (which was a thing) and helping other people or demons in trouble. I actually liked watching her work with both demons and the Feiyu guards and was expecting them to reconcile at some point and make peace between both races, but the story took such a deep dive into randomness I was mindblown... and not in a good way.
- Hong Ye was supposed to be this all-powerful demon king but if I had to compare him to other Demon Kings I've seen he's probably the weakest yet. He's easily broken and felt like a king only by name.

Do I recommend? No. But if you're in for a long haul of a drama with a not-so-great story but great actors, this just might be your next watch. But if you're wanting something with a little more plot and interesting characters, this might not be the one for you.

I don't know why so many seem to have issues with Love Sea. I really enjoyed it.

Despite Rak being afraid/not believing in love, he fell for Mut quickly. He just didn't realize it.

I loved watching Mut slowly crawl his way into Rak's 'cold-dead-damaged' heart. Mut is so damn green flag coded, there's no debate.

How social pressure makes you do the wrong things in life...

Wow, this short does not have a review... I reluctantly write reviews for "old" series/movies but in this case I have to.

This short is an excellent example how social pressure leads to an unhappy life in Japan where it is expected to follow social conformity. And with this is brings a lot of pain and heartbreak and it's depicted in detail and nuances in everyones face.

"please be happy" and "love someone but me" are the central points in this short. Azusa (speak Az'sa) is selfish, he broke up because he wanted to show his children to his grandma. But even when his Grandma dies and he can*t fullfill her wish he is confined in his personal construct to conform. Yusuke (speak: Yus'ke) is still in love and can't move on. It culmulates when Azusa selfishly asks Yusuke to make wedding photos. And that's where we see that both are not happy.

This short is really depressing but it's also important to show it, especially considering the comments where you read that it is a thing that some people can't escape the social pressure. And it shows, that a lot of people surpress their real selves, which is really really sad. So for me, this is a recommandation. You can watch it on youtube: https://youtu.be/md47vntaqwU

If You Haven’t Seen the Drama Yet, Watch This!

I watched the two short specials out of curiosity, and honestly, they’re mostly a nice little addition rather than essential viewing.

The first one, around 2 minutes, shows him reflecting on life with her, married, living together, but doesn’t give much detail about their life together. The second one, about 7 minutes, focuses on her perspective, showing the suffering of other characters and the hardships they went through. It’s touching and reminds you that even in all the pain, love can overcome everything.

If you haven’t watched the full 36 episodes yet, I highly recommend it. The drama gets much more intense in the later episodes, with twists and emotional depth that are truly memorable.

These specials aren’t necessary to understand the main plot, but they’re a sweet reminder of the story and the emotional journey, and they make you appreciate the characters even more.

A short and thrilling fresh k-drama (SPOILERS!)

The Art of Sarah is a very thrilling drama. It leaves you hanging and excites you with several pretty major plot twists. I enjoyed the different quotes and Shin Hae Sun in red hair would honestly be reason enough for me to rewatch it, she looked spectacular.

Looking back at the reviews I wrote of each episode, I was in general very impressed by the story and intrigued by the acting and the details. . Also a small thing I noticed and enjoyed was the titles of each episode. They felt very fitting every time and added some extra to the series.

I find Shin Hae Sun’s acting very good and it was funny to see how calm Sarah stayed during the police questioning and overall during the whole series. Another thing I really enjoyed was how you, each episode, got to know more about one supporting character at a time and the parts being very detailed.

Could have been better: The end of the last episode was confusing to me. I usually don’t really consider the soundtrack to be that important but this time when listening through the OST compilation I was negatively surprised how bad it is compared to other dramas I’ve watched.

I enjoyed the first half of the drama more than the second half and I was very enthralled most of the time watching The Art of Sarah. The story felt very good and planned well, except for maybe the two last episodes which felt a bit rushed. I would have wanted to see more of Sarah bluffing and pretending to be Kim Mi Jeong.

Recommended!

A political drama which does not fail its plot

Mandate is described as a political drama with a side of BL and that is what it serves. The politics is entertaining and fresh unlike those lakorns which throw in every possible plotline there is.
The characters are also very easy to like and both the actors did a great job. Especially Ben, whose portrayal of 'Vee' lies in his facial expressions and eyes. The actor playing doctor also does a great job of grey character, who is not always right, has done bad things but is ready to change for his loved ones.
Overall an interesting must watch

Dongfang Qingcang Stole My Heart (and My Tears)

There are stories that hook you with plot twists, and then there are stories that quietly dismantle you from the inside. This drama belongs entirely to the second category.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the story, it was the characters, and above all, the male lead. He is the kind of character that reminds you why complex writing matters. Strong without trying, emotionally layered, guarded yet deeply human… the more we understand his past, the more every reaction gains weight. His strength never feels performative, it feels like survival.

Watching him was less about romance and more about witnessing an emotional journey that borders on overwhelming at times. I cried, I worried about what would happen next, and more than once caught myself wishing I could somehow “save” him, which is always the sign of powerful character construction.

Interestingly, this isn’t a drama driven by constant romantic scenes or physical intimacy. The romance exists, but it breathes through tension, restraint, and emotional proximity rather than grand gestures. War, suffering, loyalty, and psychological endurance take center stage, and that choice gives the relationship a deeper credibility.

One of the most compelling dynamics appears early on: his discomfort around a female lead who simply refuses to fear him. You can almost see the first cracks in his emotional armor forming in those moments. Their connection doesn’t explode, it erodes barriers.

Is it a beautiful story? Yes.
But beauty isn’t what makes it unforgettable.
It’s the emotional weight.
The performances.
The way the characters feel alive long after the final episode ends.

Will I rewatch it soon? Probably not, and that’s not a negative. Some dramas are so emotionally consuming that you need distance before returning to them. But I know this one will stay in my thoughts for days.

Final verdict: an incredible male lead, outstanding acting, and an emotional journey that hits far deeper than expected. Not just something you watch, something you carry with you afterward.

Rating 9.5/10
