A GOOD REMAKE TO WATCH!!!

I usually don't like watching remake because i can't help but to compare it to the original one. But LOVE SICK 2024 HITS DIFFERENT, I love this series so far. Idk how to explain but they bring back the real romance feels in thai bl, it's been awhile since i felt this.

The casts are very young but they're already good in acting for a debut esp the lead casts (Almond and Progress, even their names sound weirdly cute Hahaha). Their chemistry is on point and i can't wait for other side couples to introduce as well.

Another thing i like about this remake is that they still followed the plot but changed some parts of the storyline which made it better and became modernized. This is all i can say for now since it's still ongoing, but YOU GUYS SHOULD GIVE THIS BL SERIES A CHANCE.

Behind the Scenes of As Beautiful as You

" In my position, I have my own hardships.. Love is not everything in my life.. I cant sacrifice the whole of Dongyang for my personal love.. I cant guarantee that you are the only one in my life.. But in love, there is only you.. " Han Ting had a more realistic approach and was the more matured one in this drama..

The storyline was good but doesnt break any new grounds.. We have seen similar plots aplenty.. However.. It’s well executed without the unnecessary distractions often found in C dramas.. The chemistry between the main leads were really good.. But the FL’s choice to attend her ex’s wedding especially since he’s marrying her close friend felt like a bad decision.. They tried to make it look like its normal.. But its not.. And her breaking into the ML's safe.. That was such a pathetic move.. She should have asked him openly instead of doing that.. Most of the problems in dramas can be solved by having an open heart discussion with your lover.. But for some reasons they choose to complicate it.. Like many C dramas this one is stretched with too many episodes and fillers.. Overall it's a good watch.. Xu Kai is charming as always.

Dont forget to watch the special episode.. It gives the perfect closure..

OK LISTEN LISTEN!

I was just going to comment under this show but I feel the need to review, because I just have to talk about how off the ratings in MDL are… or maybe I’m the odd one out. How is this show rated lower than Takara No Vidro? Like I literally watched this show after watching Takara and this one is way better in so many ways. Like Takara lacks so many things, it’s not horrible but compared to this one, Takara loses. Idk man, I just feel like this deserves better ratings, it wasn’t even bad. Like I enjoyed it way more than Takara, it’s not the best JBL ever but it’s really good compared to so many JBL’s we’ve gotten this year. It has chemistry, it has action, it’s not super toxic, a lot of the characters are super cute like Taichi, and overall it was pretty good. The storyline wasn’t the strongest but neither was Takara but at least Cosmetic Playlover made it work, while Takara literally gave us nothing. Not trying to be a hater, but it’s just sad/disappointing seeing actual good shows get worse ratings than mediocre shows or just trash shows.

A woman's obsession.

Before I viewed Gyeongseong Creature Season 2, my expectations was at its peak. Also, it's my most anticipated drama. As for Season 1, I didn't have high expectations for it, I only tuned in for Park Seo Jun and Han So Hee, but I was impressed with the first Season. As for this this one, which is also the Second Season of Gyeongseong Creature, I also loved it. If I were to compare it with Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 in terms of action, then I'd pick this one, it had more action scenes than the first season ever had.

Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 continues the story of Jang Tae San and Yoon Chae Ok as they give it their all to survive in a word that's has been polluted by Creatures created by humans because of their greediness to rule it all, become invisible, unrivaled, and if possible, they pursue Immorality. It's a bit different from Season 1. Why? Here's is why; Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 was set in Gyeongseong, which used to be the capital of Joseon during the 1945s. However, Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 is set during the Present day Seoul (the new name of Gyeongseong), 2023.
The first episode of Season 2 showed Yun Chae Ok, who now possess the Najin that's passed on to her by her mother. Thus making her much more powerful than she ever was, she's basically no less than an immortal having lived for a century already without aging. Then we see Jang Tae San, who now goes by a different name, Jang Oh Jae. Jang Tae San/Jang Oh Jae has lost his memories of the past. In other words, he doesn't remember who he used to be, all he knows is that, he's the President of a Detective Agency. This two have been separated for decades.

This time, all there miseries, nightmares is all because of a woman's jealousy and obsession, "Lady Maeda." I've come to realize that a woman's jealousy and revenge can be horrifying. A man is ruthless, but I think a woman is much more ruthless. They say an obsessed and jealous woman can be worse than a beast, I agree with that. That's exactly what's showcased in this one. Because of Lady Maeda's obsession, she
begins a killing spree. I didn't know a woman could be this ruthless, cruel, and inhumane. That's why a woman mustn't be underestimated. Her Love for Jang Tae San turned into obsession, that obsession turned into hate, and that hate eventually gave birth to revenge, and that unjustifiable revenge made Jang Tae San and everyone around him suffer. She wants him to be lonely with no one to turn to, she wants him to experience sadness all his life. That's what she deemed as her way of getting back at him for betraying her. That said, Although Lady Maeda's role played by Claudia Kim was short, it's memorable. I've got to admit, she made the drama much more engaging than it ever was before her appearance. She almost stealed the show with her acting.

I've got to say I loved their reunion. Just like the first Season, or should I say it's a bit different? Anyway, just like the first Season, these two reunion came abound with a fist fight. I loved their reunion. When Yoon Chae Ok called his name, Jang Tae San, the way it echoed into his ears. The familiarity. And when She embraced him, and he just stood there like a frozen ice. I loved that scene. That reunion was epic.
I loved so many scenes in this drama that I can't mention them all, but I've got to say this one. That battle scene in EP 5, I loved it so, so much. The soundtrack, the OST, everything were Especially Time by Baek Ha. What I loved most were Jang Tae San's words. Here's how it goes; "I was existing, but I wasn't living. I just wanted to see her again. I wanted to embrace her. I wanted to hold her in my arms. Even if it was just one more time. If it meant I could see you. If it meant I could touch you again." I loved those words. I almost cried while watching that scene.
Oh, the chemistry of Park Seo Jun and Han So Hee is overflowing in this one. Their gazes, their interaction, all of these were excellent. Park Seo Jun and Han So Hee performed exceptionally well in their respective roles as Jang Tae San and Yoon Chae Ok. Plus, their action scenes were exceptional and engaging, I couldn't stop watching. When I said "Season 2 outweigh Season 1 in terms of action, I wasn't lying, neither was that an exaggeration, it's the plain truth. All the casts performed exceptionally well in their respective roles.

Although Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 had almost everything. It's still lacking in some aspects. The flashbacks were there, but they weren't explored enough. For one, how Jang Tae San Najin was removed from his body that made him forgot his memories, how he was able to harness his power to such an extent where he could control it. Also, how he lived his life for all this years. There are many more, that's just to mention a few of them. I'd have love to give this a full 10, or even a 9.5, but with all the backstory on the leads character development that were not explored well enough. Also, the ending was not detailed. After a long and hard battle for survival, we see Yoon Chae Ok who doesn't remember who she used to be, now a college student, and as she was on her way, she saw Jang Tae San a few meters away. The two saw each other a few meters away. There's no explanation on how Yoon Chae Ok survived, how she became a college student, whether Jang Tae San still remembers or not, nothing. The romance is 10/10, action scenes also 10/10, but I just can't give it more than a 9. Will I recommend this? Most definitely. It's a drama that's worth every hour, minute, and seconds of anyone's time. If you're an empathetic person, get your tissues ready, this one is a bit emotional.

Love it but it has its flaws

I firmly believe that this show does not deserve the hate it gets. Its not meant to be a linewalker or the defected or tiger cubs for that matter. Its instead, a lighthearted, slightly different breed of police drama, which I actually like.

Although I love this show and I think it was the first ever tvb drama that I watched, it has its flaws, mainly in the plot.

Plot:
Ill keep it short here. The villain destroys everything. Its a lacklustre villain arc, with a pretty poor ending. I also did not like the ending when Owen Cheung chooses Sisley over the other girl, a bit confusing to be honest.

Acting:
I love Owen Cheung and this is definitely one of his best performances. Not only is his character extremely well written, his acting pull it off in simple, cheesy, Owen fashion. Matt Yeung also deserves some credit here although he has had some better roles (in 伙计办大事).

Songs:
There is no bad Fred Cheng song. Prove me wrong. Also the sub theme is ok but never really liked Hana and her deep voice.

Rewatch:
I would do it. Its a good mix of thrill and laughs.

Whatever the reviews say, don’t skip this show.

Worth the Watch

This was worth the watch for just the three main actors alone. They were just so amazing to watch they should be able to keep your focus if nothing else does. If your also a fan of Ryan Ren his character is all the way through this to I thought he did his character very well but I did start finding him rather annoying toward the end the start to focus on him quite a bit. Mi Lan and Wei Lian have become to of my favorite characters after watching this I just really loved them. Ouyang Nana did an incredible job playing a blind girl and I didn't mind that they kept her little girlish since they didn't focus on the romance but instead just a family relationship between her and the ML. Love Wei Lian and also wish they would of done a little more with his character cause when he did show his vampire side he was amazing.

The one place where this drama lacks is the backstory for the stones they didn't go into explaining hardly anything about them so when you get to the end it does leave you wondering well how does that work. The last episode you can tell was definitely rushed and they should of done more with it so it doesn't leave so many people confused but with that I still thought this drama was a really great watch. The actors deserve love for this even if the story is a little lacking.

Meaningful.

This movie seems to have a lot of depth and meaning behind it; I don't think I'm intelligent enough to get into that, so this will be a simple review.
I liked this movie overall; the story leads you to root for the main character. I'll always like an emotional movie, and this is just that. A few messages seem to be displayed throughout the movie, each meaningful. I can see why this is a critically acclaimed movie. My favorite thing about this movie was Eunhee's relationship with Miss Youngji. It was so heartwarming; I loved their scenes together.
No, I didn't love it, and it wasn't anything crazy, in my opinion, but I can see why this movie means so much to people and the effect that it has with its meaning. I did learn from this movie, and I will cherish that.

this show was so fun and different!!

when I started this show I literally binged it. I stopped at episode 14 though and it took me months to finish it. I’m not sure why… the story is so interesting. I think they could’ve shortened the show by 2-3 episodes though. the characters were all very interesting and complex.
I had a major case of falling more in love with the second lead couple than the lead couple though. ?
I finally went back and finished it and I’m glad I did! this was a great drama!! not sure if it’s something I will rewatch—because I’m not sure if I’ll get the same emotions as before—but it’s definitely a drama worth watching!!

I'm sorry for everyone involved

This show was so bad I couln't believe it. It had a really good cast, the premise was okay (if you really don't think too much about it), the couples were cute, but the storyline was a mess. Nothing made sense, all the plots were forced and badly developted, it seemed that the writers were writing the script on the set as they were filming because it was so inconherent.

I liked Jamie and Mond's chemistry, but their characters had problably the worst arc, up until that point it seemed like it was going to be a fun show to watch but then when the kidnapping happened everything went downhill. Jimmy and Punpun had the most believiable chemistry among the couples and their arc almost worked for me. Earth did a good job in it, as good as Earth can do, while they seemed to have the only arc the writers actually put some thought on, their build up was very lukewarm to be the will-they-won't-they couple of the show. Film and Joong had zero chemistry, should have stuck to just being siblings and Joong's character was a weirdo being babysat by his ex wife.

They clearly didn't need five couples, Aye and Toy's arc was fine even though it had no emotional impact that you would think it would have given the subjects it dealt with. But that's totally on the bad writing and questionable directing, even though I believe there is not much to be done when your actors are just saying things that have no emotional value and going through the most absurd situations for the sake of plot, no wonder the performances were underwhelming, while Aye and Namtan were trying their best, they didn't have much to work with.

This series didn't have a reason to be and I hope all the actors involved get better projects in their career.

I’m going back to my old style of reviewing dramas for Snowfall, a vampire tale set in the Republican Era.

What I Liked:
--Vengo Gao-He was tailor made for the role of a suave, badass vampire.
--Gothic vibes-the dark exteriors and interiors were perfect for this story.
--Costumes-I loved all the velvet, especially Jing Xue’s wardrobe.
--Eternally winter-a great vampire setting. You never see vampires sipping Mai Thais on the beach. The Snowpiercer train ride through the frozen landscape also felt other-worldly.
--Ever present Snowman- I had hoped Frosty would have transformed into a snow monster but we can't have everything.
--Gold Crow-I’m a fan of the Corvus genus of birds though this avian actor was forgotten about much of the time.
--Non-romantic relationship for most of the drama-Based on Mi Lan’s childlike personality, there was definitely a maturity gap and vastly unequal power structure between her and Zhi Heng. Lovers don’t usually tell the other to “drink your milk.”

Neutral:
--CGI-Not great, but not a deal breaker for me
--Ending-spoilery comments after review
--The writers couldn’t use the word “vampire” or show them drinking blood but angry, biting, hair-pulling sex was all right. Mmmm…kay

What I didn’t like

--Zhi Heng written to be utterly stupid and inept in the opening salvo. This brutal scene had him acting completely out of character. They needed a set-up for him and Mi Lan to meet and to show his mostly indestructibleness but man it made him look less than powerful or intelligent.
--Anything that hinted at a romantic relationship. I don’t mind age gaps, but this was a maturity gap. Mi Lan was treated like a 12-year-old and acted like one for much of the drama.
--Terrible wigs-some of the wigs looked like roadkill.
--Both Liang and Situ weren’t written consistently and could give you whiplash with their back-and-forth emotions
--Liang’s plot armor-Zhi Heng could take on a jillion Shadow Warriors but somehow Liang always slipped through his fingers. Although he was always being beaten, shot, etc. Characters would also go into hiding and then come back into the open with no consequences.
--The magical stones element felt ill developed and clunky. Another demerit for censorship-it plays havoc with creativity.
--Wei Lian’s creepy walk on the dark side with Jing Xue

In conclusion:
❄Overall, I enjoyed this drama. It was a nice attempt at the vampire genre given all the restrictions and had a luxurious look. The costumes and settings may have been Republican Era but the drama felt more like a magical storybook which I quite liked. Far from perfect, yet also strangely addictive, Snowfall made for an interesting if fractured fairytale.❄

I didn’t mind the SE. It had been foreshadowed from the beginning. Since I didn’t care for any romance between the two main characters, I didn’t need the HE. The only thing I didn’t care for was the apparent deviation from the source material. Of the Republican Era and strictly historical dramas I’ve watched, the censors seem to prefer sad endings so I know going into these dramas the likelihood of the main couple living HEA is a low percentage. At least it didn’t come out of the blue and the story was headed in that direction from the beginning unlike other dramas where a disappointing ending is tacked on.

So good

I just finished watching this drama and I I am sorry that it is over. I was in tears watching the final episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The actors were great. They made the story come to life. I will definitely look forward to seeing other dramas that some of these cast members will feature in.

It was the thought that counts.

This was a very quirky series that had some well-meaning intent. Unfortunately, the meaningful messages were not very well executed. On the positive side, the friendship development between all the characters was great. This series really suffered from a poor script quality and director choices. It was funny at times, but it was often mix in with a lot of cringy scenes. It gets a little better later on, but it then takes the old miscommunication story element to a ridiculous level. This also had a lot of random scenes used as filler screen time. Although it was great to see a character that identified as pansexual, they introduced key story points about Latte too late in the series. Because of this, the character came across as very unlikable in the first half of the series. The cast was great considering what they had to work with.

Random Note:

The English subtitles on GagaOOLala was not the greatest.

The flash forwards at the beginning of each episode were too gimmicky for me. I started to skip them completely after the 4th episode because it was very annoying. I understand they were trying to create dramatic interest, but it was not needed for a series attempting to be quirky and fun.

The scene in the last episode involving the main actors from “Monster Next Door” was cute.

The location used for Max’s apartment was the same one used in the “Bad Buddy” series (Pran and Pat’s apartment location).

I went in with low expectations and was happy it was not horrible. I don’t regret watching it, but I would not watch it again. I basically did because I was bored. That being said, this is one of those series you can wait to watch until you have some time to kill and have nothing better to see from your must watch list.

Hopping Vampires!

I thought that I’d been led astray in my research of hopping vampire movies when I began Era of Vampires aka Vampire Hunters. The first creature of the night was a super powered blood sucking vampire that did not so much as hop, jump, or skip. Later on, my patience was rewarded when a whole herd of hoppers appeared. This was a low budget Hark Tsui produced film of which I expected more yet still found enough to keep my attention.

Be very, very quiet for Wind, Rain, Lightning, Thunder and their sifu Mao Shan are hunting a vampire. This mostly dead ex-general was juiced up and took exception to the vampire hunters. Many of the red shirt hunters were killed and Mao Shan was feared dead as well. Three months later the weather crew followed their vampire compass to the Jiang residence on the day of a wedding. The Jiangs were experts in making and using wax which led to some uber creepy goings on in a house where things didn’t just go bump in the night but also hopped and slithered. A secret stache of gold, a greedy brother-in-law, the Vampire King, the hunters, and the macabre household would all eventually collide in one gory mess.

This film had a very low budget look to it. The sets were simple but made to appear frightening with blue lighting and copious amounts of smoke masquerading as fog. The Vampire King was gruesome and buggy, no sexy fang banger here. Two of the humans did have time for some romance while running away from and fighting vampires. Even though there was some gore, the special effects were extremely low tech which took away much of the fear factor.

I didn’t recognize the Phoenix from Eternal Love TMOP at first. A young Ken Chang played Thunder and had the most screen time. Old martial arts movie star Chen Kuan Tai showed up as a Taoist corpse wrangler and set the hoppers loose at one point to distract the hunters while thieves sought out the golden treasure. He was even able to show his kung fu stuff in a short fight with one of the baddies. There were several wire-fu fights in dim lighting that weren’t as creative as I would have liked but were okay for this film.

Era of Vampires was more reminiscent of early kung fu films than films from the same timeframe. It had some intriguing moments and for this bargain basement niche mixed genre of martial arts and vampires it held its own.

One thing is missing: Better writers!

This show started out so good, the main plot was interesting, and the cast is amazing. So, what's wrong with this Kdrama?

I think, it was too big for the writers to handle.

This series is like a fast car with a bad driver. You have everything from the start, but you don't know what to do with it. So many plot holes, and honestly, without the cast, I'm not sure if I would finish it. The whole Big Mouth plot started out well, but the minute Changho take on the role, it was madness. The guy was basically the worst lawyer ever, he couldn't handle his own life without his wife Miho, yet after he was almost killed in prison, he became this smart leader who can outdo anyone. The biggest plot armor ever!

Not only that, I could accept this, because why not? But so many frustrating things happened. For example, no one gets punished, even tho Changho proved on a freakin' LIVE SHOW that they're guilty, they killed many people, that one guy killed his own ex-wife as well, yet no one mentioned it since.

The WORST part of the show is probably what they did with Miho. She was basically the only smart character, a NURSE, yet she's just casually walk in a mine or whatever was that, where she can see people in hazmat suit, and the whole thing was collapsed, yet she still wants to go there, because she thinks she's invincible.

I loved her character, BUT I didn't feel a single thing when she died. Why? Because the writers did a shit job! The problem isn't the fact that she dies, the problem is how she died. I mean, if you want to kill her, just kill her, but don't make her look like a smart woman who's making the biggest mistake that a nurse can make!

The last 2 episode was just nonsense! What the hell was that finale? How on Earth Changho managed to poison the water, and why Doha died so fast? The same goes for Miho, btw, because every other patient who died, they lived for months, yet she died after a couple of days.

Even tho I liked the show, I just can't stand lazy writing. They wasted so much time on meaningless things, but ignored important parts of the story, and they finished off the whole thing in 5 minute, basically.

This show could've been the next a Flower of Evil, but the only one who deserve a flower is the cast, and everyone who finished the whole show.
