Boring and lame.

One of the most boring and poorly written dramas I have ever watched. For action fans this is like a Steven Segal movie but worse and for those romance fans neither steamy nor romantic just weird.

Do not waste your time watching this drama - do not know who wrote or directed this but I mean its 2024 and wtf is this.

Best Gl so far like I really didn’t wanna watch bc I was so stuck on gap and I didn’t wanna watch no other Gl after that and everyone kept talking about it so I wanted to know the hype and I just finally decided to watch and omg BEST f*cking thing you can ever ask for in a Gl I mean they have the romance the BEST love scenes to mankind and it has such a good mixture of drama but not to much it only has one drama line throughout the whole series and that’s just them keeping their relationship a secret and when I first started to watch I was kinda icky bc like anueng is like very idk how to explain but like very childy if that makes since but like you would think it’s annoying at first but as the show goes on she gets more mature when she’s with neung but she’s still very cutesy i would say. And the acting is just sooo on point from allll cast, and yes that’s all I have to say I would DEFINITELY rewatch and DEFINITELY recommend

soft movie with no fault.

A movie that offers a very sweet, soft and enjoyable perspective on today's relationships without overwhelming or boring you. If your mood is low and you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend, this movie can make you feel relaxed for 1-2 hours and give you peace and a little hope. Both of the leads were very sweet in their acting. They are both cute together and seperately... The sexuality and adult material was just right, neither making the movie erotic nor turning it into a children's movie. If you are looking for a teardropper this aint for you... And thats all.. If you like sweet love stories just watch and enjoy.

Delightful, heartwarming, beautiful, and never dull.

This drama took me back in time - mix tapes. rubiks cubes, going crazy for stars, reading trashy teenage smut... I could go on and on. The same teenage experience, just on the other side of the world from me. Even the fashion was recognizable. The storytelling device of having their older selves being interviewed gave the feeling that everything in the past was simply reminiscing about their journey into adulthood, which gave it a pleasant feeling,. Just for the nostalgia alone this is easily worth 10 stars, but it is so much more than just that.

The thing that struck me the most about this drama was the sense of community. This is not the first time I have found this in a Korean drama, but every time it moves me a lot, and every time it is presented in a different way. Here in this alley there were clearly people better off than others, but at no time was this division made into a wedge to drive people apart - everyone shared. Food, house chores, watching children, gossip, laughter, tears, troubles - this is a list that could go on and on. The adults shared a bond, and so did the kids. The flashback scenes of them all as very small children growing up together made it easy to see why they were all so close. In this drama the community was essentially one big family - emphasized by the fact that they called for all the neighbors to jump into the family photo.

The acting was superb. The young people were all so well-performed that it was a particularly immersive show - they truly seemed like kids just living their daily lives. They were not all perfect students or perfectly behaved, but they were all good to one another and to the people around them. The adults were played nicely also, all with humanizing quirks and well-developed personalities.

The music was nice; presumably comprised of Korean songs well-suited to the late eighties to mid-nineties. In general it did not pull me in as much as other aspects of the show did since it wasn't the popular music of my youth, but it was all quite enjoyable anyway.

Definitely a show worth watching - despite the long episodes I kept not wanting to stop because the story is so compelling.

cool but... weak?

Brave Citizen is an ok movie for me and the reason is because the plot is childish and unrealistic.

I mean, why and how there would be a boxing tournament in a SCHOOL where students are watching and the TEACHER is fighting against a student? ?
How on earth this would be approved to happen?
Don't get me wrong, the bullying thematic is indeed important but it shouldn't have been so childish.

The Male Lead was interesting but he started to turn into a cartoon villain at the end in my opinion.
Plus, after the whole fight, how the teacher didn't ended up arrested? She beat up her student (the bad boy) and nothing happened? Even though he (student) had a powerful family that could do anything to arrest her?

Well, besides everything i said, the actors did their jobs amazingly, it would be waay better if the whole story had taken a new path so they would have shined even more

obs: i loved the teacher's "meoow" lol

School Project about Self-Worth

This short drama feels like school project with little bit of funding.
it tackles alot of things but ultimately the main focus is about self-worth .
In terms of acting the male lead pretty much have decent acting skills while the female lead lacks abit but i guess its fine in this low budget short.
Writing is lackluster .. but its understandable.
Music not so much it just fills the space but nothing significant.

at the end it was implied that they are facing his blindness together but didnt really specify that they are together but i think they are indeed together.
i personally wont put effort in helping in fulfilling someones passion if i didnt love them honestly speaking. he still has camera at the end so i guess he will still do photography with the help of the fml

overall its a watchable short but you will prolly not remember it but i still recommend for people to watch it since it deals with self-worth etc.

trying to find the source video for this is pain..

A sweet show that takes too long to get to

The first six episodes is an awful slog to get through and doubly so when watching from week to week. The writing treats the audience like people who have never seen a television show before and the misunderstanding goes on forever. 6 episodes, which exactly half a span of the show is way too long to get to the relationship and very unfortunately probably soured a lot of interests in it. I quit watching it as it aired as well and came back to complete much later. I did enjoy watching the characters once the relationship started proper. I love Sun so much, she's not relegated to passive love interest, but she's very in tune with her feelings, communicates everything to the people around her, asks for advice, and apologizes when needed. She's kind and her popularity makes sense. Ongsa is capable of being spicy when she's lost in her comfort zone with Sun, leaving behind her neurotic defeatist self, as is Aylin at the end. Oooh girl that kiss melted Luna completely. I really like how the show models patience and understanding for neurodivergent Aylin. Her room is pretty cool as well. Ton continuing to pursue Charoen despite her repeatedly saying she's not interested being played for laughs is not funny at all. I hoped this drama would be much better than it was, but alas it's not.

I was looking for something to watch and stealthily this series appeared. She was looking at her without much expectation, really. But it's very good, it's short because there are only 9 chapters and the episodes only last 30 minutes so you watch it in one sitting.

The only annoying thing for me was the side stories. Generally I like to see secondary stories apart from the main one. But it didn't happen here, I think they were quite unnecessary and boring to watch.

Regarding the lack of communication, you'll see a lot of that here but since I've been watching Japanese dramas for more years than Korean ones, I've gotten pretty used to that (I don't know if that's good or bad hahahaha).

Anyway the topic of sex was illustrated in a wonderful and true way. Honestly, I am one of the people who doesn't care much if a person is a virgin when they are an adult.

You know, sometimes it happens that you don't have much sexual appetite and you focus your life on studies or work, so the issue of having a partner usually takes a backseat.

What happens to the protagonist is that she feels that pressure from society and seeks to have sex, with people with whom she feels nothing. Many people don't care, but for many (myself included) it is important to have an emotional connection with the other person, because if you don't you feel empty and you don't really enjoy your sexuality.

When she begins to establish an emotional connection with the protagonist, she begins to feel good, even if it is just kisses because he is a person she is attracted to both physically and emotionally.

Your first time will always be a little awkward and embarrassing, so I didn't feel uncomfortable watching it, because it happened to me. It's a reality, it's not something that doesn't happen. It's not that when it's your first time you will be an expert in the Kama-sutra, you know hahaha

I think it's also important to do it with a person who doesn't have as much experience or hasn't had experience because people who have had experiences tend to be a little abrupt. On the other hand, when you are with a person who is in a situation similar to yours, it is much easier to communicate what you like, what you don't like, whether it hurts you or not.

Obviously the first time always hurts, if it hurts it is better to tell your partner that it hurts and to slow down, like the protagonist did.

I really liked that scene because it is something realistic and it has happened to all of us who have had sexual relations the first time.

I really recommend it, it's short and nice. And you will look at it quickly.

Very educational

I would say that Gen Z is a very good show, long winded but good to watch. This series, if you really watch in-depth has alot of life lessons taught. Combining with the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the life lessons you can learn, it is indeed an absolute wonderful series to watch. These aside, I would say the series is abit tad long winded, certain aspects (like some of the people reviewed here) can be done without. Romance factor is not a really big thing in this series. Yes, you can see romance slowly blooming between the male and female lead along with other side couples, but not big and sizzling. I really enjoyed watching this series, although I played the skip button alot on certain parts of the series - especially parts with Meng Meng and Zhao Li Quan (character names in the series). They should not have made these parts so long winded and draggy. I enjoyed watching the banter between Zhao Lu Si and her master, it is very refreshing. I love the relationship of marriage between the characters Ren Xing Zheng and his wife and also the relationship of their parents. It is so nice to watch.

I actually noticed this show for some time already because I was a really big Zhao Lu Si fan, however the total amount of episodes was what dragged me this long to bring myself to watch it. After watching it completely (finally), I can say it is a good series to watch - as mentioned, I really love the life teachings brought up in this series along with the TCM. Reminds me of my Grandmother, when she was alive back then, how she would tell stories etc about her life while growing up in China in the ancient times.

Overall, the entire crew + casts really did a good job bringing life to their characters and also the series. A big applause for them. Zhao Lu Si, as always, brought alot of fun, humor and laughter to her shows. Though the initial few episodes was quite fascinating when her master just "picked her up from the streets" to be trained. Luo Yi Zhou, the male lead, is not bad. If the info provided here is accurate, for his first series, I would say he did a good job. Alina Zhang was abit more difficult. I honestly hated her from the start because of her obnoxious and selfish ways. But she really did a good job portraying that character.

The music, for me, is just average. There are some nice pieces but not all is to my liking.

All in all, I would say give this series a try. Especially if you want to know more about TCM or the Chinese life teachings within. But it is abit too long winded for me to say / recommend a re-watch, unless you really love it from the first completion.

This was way better than the 1st season!

Jun-Seong & Sung Ho carried the show. You literally get to watch them go from being friends to falling in love (partly due to JS shall I add).

I truly feel like this season was made for both of them to meet. Just like how I believe Love is Blind (US) season 1 was the universe bringing Cameron & Lauren together.

PS: I can’t be the only one who thinks Seon-Woo slightly favours the actor Ji Sung. It’s all I can think about anytime he’s on screen lol.

Really good drama

Not many dramas these days manage to really capture the attention of viewers like older k-dramas. Lovely runner is the exception. Time travel stories might be a little overdone, but I found that Lovely runner did so very tastefully . It always had me wondering what was going to come next, and whether or not Sol was going to succeed in saving Sun jae. The stalker storyline is definitely the most overdone plotline it had. The lack of motivation behind the killer was almost comical at times but it still did a good job at keeping the story pretty entertaining. None of the characters ever felt annoying to me, their actions although may be a little exaggerated for the issue at hand always felt reasonable in concept and not merely to drive the plot forward. Lovely runner does a great job at portraying the love between Sol and Sun jae, and made the more sad parts of the show that much more impactful. Great show in all, sometimes felt a bit repetitive but did a god job at providing a meaningful story and conclusion to a relatively basic concept.

....apparently bl boys be doing por*n

Now that I've grabbed your attention. Kindly continue reading

Storytime
Last week, I nearly cussed out a user. Actually I did cuss her out but later couldn't find the comment again so i assumed my reply wasn't sent and she deleted the comment. Something in the lines of her saying this show was slow burn and the rest of us that thought the 16 episodes were too excessive wanted them to be doing aerial and undersea acrobatics in bed and every surface that they could maneuver their bodies unto and we should stop complaining cos not every bl show was not a sport segment on por*n hub. I broke into maniacal laughter because at that point I'd lost my mind around the 3rd part of episode 12. Then I cussed her out, asking her if she was implying that bl actors whom did se*x scenes were doing por*n? Now I'm wondering if the comment was actually censored due to my colourful wordview and beautiful arrangement of words and phrases. That earnestly told her to kiss my ass*ets.

Are they people that complain unnecessarily about shows? Yes there are. Are they people that boycott shows due to the actors or ships they don't support? Absolutely. Are a lot of slowburn bl shows that are criminally underrated because of the minimal amount of se*x scenes? A 1000% yes. But you see this show right here? Guilty as charged

Now let me be fair, This how has a lot of eyecandy....... Yeah now back to the criticism. This is according to the comment section supposed to be slice of life, comedy about friends whom want to be more than friends. Good premise Okay now these friends are in the university and are all attractive and tall, okay we're getting interested ,now there's not one or two but 4 pairs of couples with an additional twist of a love triangle??? Omona I'm ready, i was ready so i waited and binged the first 6 episodes not knowing that it was actually 16 episodes? 16 episodes you say???! Think of all the possibilities of how these love stories will pan out. And that ladies and gentlemen is when the gaslighting began. For you see, By ep 6 everything was nicely wrapping up. About 3/4 of the CPs were acknowledging their feelings and it was looking good. So I asked myself why is this drama 16 episodes not 12.? When it is not Queen of Tears...oooh that means something big must be coming up.
And so I was roped in, everyweek waiting for something else to happen awondering why a show with 4 couples became a Pondphuwin fanfic cosplay and the others were having only 8 minutes of screen time in a 40 episode drama. So naturally I complained that this show has pacing issues but apparently according to the comment section, I don't know what "slice of life" means and this is "slowburn", as this show is clearly demonstrating. So I was told if this isn't my cup of tea I shouldn't watch it. While they simultaneously praised it as being so good and omagahh the best show ever.

Ha. I removed my headphones and held my head, 10 minutes into ep 14. This show is not the worst I've seen but it is frustrating me to tears because they had me invested, raised my hopes, they dashed it everyweek. But I shouldn't complain? Make it make sense

Summary
1. The acting: PondPhuwin. sweet baby J.christ enough! Enoughhh of them. Puwin looking like he's smelling garlic whenever pond or phum is in his
vicinity. Pond is not a...great actor. His definitely in need of improvement.
2. The pacing: Dragging the same problems for 4 episodes but not resolving them unless there's a kiss involved? Why are you wasting all that screen time, just to have phuwin squeeze his face more than half the time.
3. The setting. These are supposed to be college aged boys. Why is everyone behaving like preschoolers? Isn't it disconcerting to see somebody who was literally behaving like a child suddenly gets kissed or do the devil's tango???! I thought this was slowburn why is everyone kissing around the place. Slice of life? What problems are they solving, what issues are they addressing? Peem being a sla*ve? to some rich boy? or the unrequited love floating arounnd the air?
4. Why do y'all care about chainpun so much? The chemistry is not even there. They didn't give them enough screentime to do anything except literally stare into each other's eyes.
5. The promise: This could've been something really good. But it was ruined in a very obvious attempt to promote these ships. Business is Business and they have loyal fanbases.
6. Team Kluen.

In conclusion, I need more sleep.

If we are being honest, the real lesson is: "be careful who you trust"

Frankly, the "Life lessons" tag seems rather ironic given the distance between what the lesson the drama thinks it is imparting, and the lesson that it is actually imparting.

The actual lesson is that ML's issue was not choosing almost anyone else besides FL as a spouse. More concretely, he might want to notice how basically everyone, from the less helpful other dads, to the philandering Yoon-ki to his wife's lover, are not cheated on by their spouses (not even Yoon-ki, whose wife simply dumps him after a long time of putting up with his atrocious behaviour, while his wife's lover was, insultingly, taken back essentially immediately).

The take away is clearly that he should have chosen someone worthy of his loyalty and trust, which FL, being disloyal and having broken his trust, is clearly not.

We are instead regaled with, well, nonsense, such as the incredibly insulting notion of an Orwellian thought crime, where having fantasies and feeling attraction, which are perfectly normal, are compared to have a full blown affair, which is a complete and deliberate violation of your partner's trust. One of these things is, self evidently, not like the other.

ML's big fault was not being a mind reader and actually trusting his wife when he asked her if she was okay. He was willing to help, so it's clear that he would have not been against splitting tasks if she felt overwhelmed. He didn't realise something that she didn't realise herself, and then explicitly lied to him about, putting up a facade of everything being just peachy. Her lover found her when she had just realised it and had her guard down, and it was her decision to be completely uncommunicative with her husband, when she had so many other options, from paying for stuff instead of cooking herself, to ask for her husband's, family's or friends' help, to just reconsidering some commitments, such as the pandering stuff in the moms group.

What is certainly not going to help is having an affair with your client. That would not magically open up your schedule, though for some reason she, again, seems to find the time to plan their rendezvouses and book the places they want to sleep at, and buy sexy lingerie. Time dilation? Not sure what universe has such physics. Probably one where the supposed "message" makes any sense.

As an aside, I do find the differential treatment with respect to Yoon-ki rather laughable and hypocritical. Let's be clear: both Yoon-ki and FL were liars and cheaters that were willing to betray and deceive their loyal spouses forever for self serving reasons, without any guilt. FL herself admitted that she would have continued to deceive ML indefinitely had he not caught her red handed, with no consideration for either him or the kid during the affair.

To be perfectly honest, I actually do find Yoon-ki's blatant shamelessness less hypocritical than FL and her lover's calm, polite, apathetic facade of decency. I mean, nothing more irritating than FL's lover politely greeting/introducing himself to ML after the latter had just caught him red handed, as if everyone in the room didn't know perfectly well that had ML not been in that elevator, he would be sleeping with his wife in that hotel room. Equally irritating was the birthday gift: is one supposed to be impressed by that? When she was willing to lie to his face for months, and continue doing so forever? I mean, this is like someone stealing all your money and leaving behind an online shop coupon: adding insult to injury.

The other thing with Yoon-ki was the fact that at least his goals were aligned with his actions: he wanted to sleep with other women, and he did. By contrast, FL's betrayal was not only cruel, but also utterly needless and easily avoidable. It in no way addressed the issue of her overscheduling, as explained above, and she could have very easily just stopped being completely uncommunicative and lying to her husband. The sheer futility is, again, something that adds insult to injury.

To be clear, I do find Yoon-ki absolutely repulsive. But it's a bit like the situation with FL's lover's wife: she could see perfectly through FL, but at the same time apparently didn't realise that her husband was exactly the same kind of person: a liar and a cheater that would have been willing to betray and deceive their loyal spouse forever, and to risk jeopardizing her child's happiness, over a whim.

I also thought that there was a fundamental muddying of the waters where two very different matters are conflated together: unhappiness and betrayal. Obviously, being unhappy does not automatically imply that one would be ready to treat their partner with no loyalty, honesty and respect. To pretend that the two are equivalent is mere equivocation and evasion, and, really, self serving cynicism. So the question shouldn't have been "why was she unhappy", but "why, when push came to shove, she did not care enough not to treat her spouse with any loyalty, honesty and respect". In the case of the cheating wife mentioned in the drama, whose husband had previously a kid out of wedlock behind her back, the answer was pretty obvious: the guy had betrayed her, so she had no reason to show him any loyalty and honesty in return, nor was he owed any. I was 100% behind her, in that regard. This was not the situation with either ML or FL's lover's wife.

now let me get controversial for a moment.

ok so I finished this when it came out so it's been a while, but let's deep dive into it.

firstly. the first series of this was an absolute masterpiece, with hardly any flaws. the story was so real and beautiful, the acting was fresh, the music was so fitting and don't get me started on the cinematography, it was one of the best.
I can't praise the first series enough, it's why the second series fell harder.
(no problem with the acting, just the story.)

ok so the first series was different to your usual Thai BL drama. it was special because it was so good. it showed a realistic story with difficult characters that were still loveable because they were still so obviously human. .... since it was so good it just meant season 2 fell harder.

the downfall ...

the downfall came when they decided to take an amazing show, swing it on its back and fuck it in its ass. like they made a special BL into a typical everyday Thai BL, it made it almost no longer special. first season was special because it portrayed a type of relationship that was a push and pull, that ended in harmony. it was this youthful and long-awaited relationship, a relationship that you work hard for and once it's there then it's bliss and harmony, a type of relationship that is almost pure despite the hardships they went through to get there.

And season 2 takes this amazing connection the two characters had, spat on it and stuck it in.... RAW
they added things into their relationship dynamic that went so against their dynamic. Like cheating?!? wtaf. teh cheating was so out of character keeping in mind how he overcame his struggle with accepting himself as who he was, and overcoming this issue with his sexuality to be there for the one he loves. He battled DEMONS in himself to overcome his fear for oh-aew and in season 2 Teh disregards all that and kisses and briefly falls for a random man ?

the worst part is that teh does this and it's not clearly explained why he felt like that. how can Teh go from being so in love with oh-aew to cheating on him and getting bored, to go back to loving oh-aew? feels like the director wanted to stick his cheeky little fingers up the character's dynamics ass and do handstands in there.
I was so annoyed, how could a director take such a masterpiece and make it so mediocre?
ik he was doing evil laughs to himself when changing the story, while wanking off with chilli peppers and peppermint.
The cinematography changed too, which almost makes the two series look extremely different, I'd say s2 looks adopted but ain't nobody choosing s2 to take home with them.

their relationship becomes like fake, boring and just not enjoyable to watch. disappointed can't even describe it. I was so confused because of how different the characters were from the first season.

I would've been happier if there was never a season 2, and just left the beauty of season 1.

soooo yeah, if u seen s1 and wanna watch s2... save yourself and keep the good image of this show and don't watch season two.

"You look too stupid"

Eunuch of the Western Palace trotted out the evil eunuchs complete with a secret letter everyone wanted to get their hands on. Don Wong, Meng Fei, and Doris Lung starred as the sword carrying rebels determined to rid the country of corruption. Wu Ma wrote and directed the film from 1979.

Don Wong is given a letter by a dying rebel. Lo Lieh saves his life, but refuses to become allies. Don meets up with Meng Fei, Doris Lung, and an unknown Taiwanese actress called the Invincible Sword. The rebels split up and are hunted by the eunuch’s men, including Lung Fei. Yuen Shen plays one of the leaders with knowledge of the eunuch’s wrongdoings who is trying to get the information to the emperor.

There was a lot of bouncing back and forth and circling around with the narrative which didn’t make much sense except to kill time. The much sought after letter faded in importance as the movie went along. The fights were about average for the time though a couple of them were filmed at night which made it almost impossible to make out the action. Time has not been kind to this movie with many frames darkened and/or blue in places.

The biggest reason to watch this film is if you are a fan of the cast or just enjoy old kung fu movies. I’ll watch about anything with Lo Lieh in it. He played the Doc Holliday style character with TB and a sense of honor. Don Wong, though stuck with a wig that looked like it had been run over by a carriage, held the rebel cast together with his presence. Doris Lung seemed to be having fun as a competent fighter with a wicked sense of humor. Meng Fei’s rebel was rather bland and dense. Tsung Hua chewed up the scenery as the power-hungry eunuch and Lung Fei could always be counted on as a believable baddie.

Eunuch of the Western Palace didn’t break any new ground in the evil eunuch genre or feature spectacular fights. It was watchable if you like any of the actors and the final fight in a snowstorm wasn’t bad. As always, I grade these old, low budget niche films on a curve.
