Many of us have been amazed by the latest project by the Japanese director, screenwriter, actress and casting director Sawada Ikuko for her point of view, for several of the ideas that are dropped, for the aesthetics that accompanies the story, for the strength of the performance of a luxury cast, for the splendid soundtrack that accompanies us.
We are in the 90s of the last century. We are in a quiet rural town during the Heisei era. We are facing a story of acceptance and self-discovery during adolescence, but far from the romanticism of most of the series based on manga that I usually review here, telling us a hard, stark and bittersweet story. This is a coming-of-age drama that explores the pressures to conform and the power of friendship.
The beginning of 'Smells Like Green Spirit', the LGBT+ themed drama series, is engaging. We are introduced to a high school student being chased by several of his schoolmates.
Mishima, an androgynous teenager who defies social norms of sexuality, with his very long hair, delicate beauty and marked feminine features, lives in two different worlds: while the Sun shines in the sky, his classmates give free rein to their homophobia and is systematically tortured for "appearing to be gay." At night, in the silence of his house, once his mother goes to bed, we can distinguish a boy who is clear that he likes boys, something he hides and, faced with the economic impossibility of buying other cosmetic products, he only applies lipstick taken from his mother's bag, while he enjoys dressing the clothes of the woman who sleeps a few meters away from him.
His colleagues harass and physically and psychologically attack him because of his femininity, calling him in the most derogatory ways alluding to his sexuality. But he doesn't care, he's happy being the way he is.
All this reveals two of the pillars of the work. But be careful, this is not a more or less classic story that revolves around transsexuality.
But that bittersweet existence takes a radical turn when he discovers by accident that the hatred that Makoto Kirino, one of his staunchest harassers, professes towards him, is not only the result of the education received by a heteronormative family or from living in a society that does not accept diversity and that makes someone who is different hate themselves for not fitting into a supposed canon of "normality", but that they have much more in common than what appears at first glance and that this hatred is actually a desire to have the freedom to be like him.
In this way, the fatherless young boy will discover that, like him, Kirino is gay and likes to cross-dress, but he has hidden this side of him due to his conservative mother, who cannot accept he son's true nature. In this sense, since his childhood, in his environment, Kirino has been raised listening to prejudices and stereotypes of rejection or hatred towards LGTB+ people. Having integrated these values into your system, the construction of your identity has been marked by those beliefs. For this reason, he considers that a part of him is not worthy of acceptance and recognition, so he must hide, compensate, repair... his sexuality.
This is how the series borders on that controversial stereotype that behind every homophobe there is someone repressing their authentic sexuality. However, Kirino's story is so well done that it is difficult not to empathize and feel sorry for him, and even understand the pain that not accepting oneself can lead to something terrible. Kirino is ultimately, unlike Mishima, a poor confused teenager with his head in a mess.
Although it is true that this stereotype also comes into play with another character with whom one does enter into more delicate terrain that is much more controversial, and I will not go into detail about it so as not to give away spoilers.
Once the moment of initial terror of being discovered has passed, Kirino experiences the relief of being able to show himself as he is to another person who does not judge him and understands him. Being able to talk and share their problems without having to hide will be the first step for the two to begin to weave a beautiful friendship based on the secrets they hide from the world. And in this way we discover the other pillar on which the series is based.
These two teenagers must face a hostile social environment, allies who are wolves in sheep's clothing, and, what's worse, the possibility of frustrating their families' expectations. They must not only hide from others, but also hide from themselves.
All this, while we are presented with a Japan far from the typical view and the images of cities of futuristic technology mixed with ancient traditions. A much "dirtier and darker" Japan, for a story that usually appears darker than what we get from there, where the main character suffers daily harassment by teenagers like him, while others are forced to hide who they are out of fear to receive the same bullying that Mishima suffers.
While Mishima benefits from having a loving and understanding mother, Kirino struggles to reconcile her sexuality with her oppressive and patriarchal upbringing.
Kirino quickly opens up to Mishima, when they both meet during free hours on the school roof and outside the educational grounds, and can be who he really is without having to hide, although in front of his classmates he has to continue pretending contrary. However, he slowly begins to change the way he treats Mishima in front of others as he begins to accept himself.
It is surprising that Mishima does not feel or express any type of resentment towards his harassers and that he quickly finds in Kirino a being similar to the one who forgives all the bad times he put him through.
Thanks to the friendship with Mishima, Kirino's character transforms into a totally different person. If it is true that his attitude at the beginning is inexcusable and unjustifiable, as you begin to interact more with Mishima you discover his past and who he really is, making it easier to connect with him.
Through Mishima we observe the story and see how Tarō Yumeno, another of his bullies, a classmate and one of the main players in the school basketball club, is actually a boy who hides behind the façade of the bully, and who always makes fun of Mishima, to hide his true feelings.
Falling in love with Mishima is easy; He is so tender, so close, that you can't help but love him, sympathize with his character, let yourself be carried away by his antics, identify with a being that is certain of knowing who he is, even if he has to hide it.
And as these three young people begin to discover who they are, struggling to define themselves, they will make difficult decisions that will shape the rest of their lives.
'Smells Like Green Spirit' presents a heartbreaking character study anchored by a confident and convincing performance by Araki Towa, Sono Shunta and Fujimoto Kodai, actors who play Mishima Futoshi, Kirino Makoto and Yumeno Taro, respectively.
Araki Towa shines in her role, which she plays with delicacy and melancholy.
It is interesting how the story mixes comic situations that will brighten your day with other moments of extreme drama that will break your heart, while telling a story whose characters explore different ways of living sexuality and gender identity. Without a doubt, they are characters that anyone can empathize with.
Screenwriter Arai Yuuka takes the cake by adapting the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Saburō Nagai, serialized in Fusion Product's Comic Be between 2011 and 2013, collected in two tankōbon volumes, which allows the viewer to take a look at how complicated it is. a time that is complex in itself like adolescence, when one also does not fit into what is considered normal. As in the original work, the narrative text not only allows a very honest story to be translated into moving images, but also skips many stereotypes associated with BL manga.
The series addresses topics such as transvestism, while emphasizing that being a transvestite does not mean being transsexual, and that, in turn, this is not linked to sexual orientation.
Linking family history makes it feel even more intimate and personal, especially when one of them's mother is a widow and the other is single, and they have raised their children with so much love that their descendants want to care for them in the same way.
Sawada Ikuko addresses all these complex issues with commendable delicacy and lucidity. He raises the questions but does not decide, does not judge, does not take sides.
It is also true that with a cast like this it makes it very easy for the viewer. In addition to the aforementioned actors, Abe Aran joins as Professor Yanagida, Sakai Miyuki as Futoshi's mother, Kanai Miki as Sawada Ayako, Kaji Masaki as Edokawa Toshihiko, Katada Hiyori as Fujii Rinka, among others. That is to say, the stellar performances of the entire cast, especially the young people who turn from rivals to friends, anchor the story.
With an outstanding soundtrack, whose musical themes are inserted in such a way that they become the perfect complement to the story, the Japanese director succeeds in maintaining her closeness with his main character at all times, especially in that climactic moment when Mishima and Kirino They look into each other's eyes for the first time and scrutinize their souls.
There are some clichés often found in LGBT+ stories, but for the most part, Sawada Ikuko creates a totally original drama that is worth watching. Bearing the weight of emotional trauma and gay shame, the three boys need more than a hug to get them through. But there is a hopeful message, tinged with painful sadness. 'Smells Like Green Spirit' teaches an important lesson that will reach many young people who struggle with their sexual preferences, especially those who live among family members who are intolerant towards LGBT+ people.
As a result, the series doesn't flinch from contemplating the unfortunate reality of hate and intolerance, but also reflects and celebrates the other side of humanity.
This is a bittersweet series that reinforces the idea that there are good people who will love and accept you no matter who you are. The audiovisual demonstrates great empathy for those who have to hide who they are throughout their lives, or part of it, even if that eventually turns them into melancholic beings.
It is a deeply personal story, which speaks of young queer people who have the luxury of searching for their identity and discovering who they are from an early age, and those who must keep part of their identity hidden for fear of losing their family or receiving hate from the community.
There are moments in this queer story that are truly terrifying and other moments are tender and pure.
For all that has been said, the series stays with the viewer after the final credits of the first three episodes of the 9 that the MBS and TVK audiovisual have.
A splendid and bittersweet story as well as a tough love story. Yes, of love, because self-acceptance can only be fulfilled with a lot of love.

Lo mejor de dos mundos

Es la primera vez que veo un drama en colaboración entre China y Taiwán y aunque no sabía que esperar, termino siendo una gran combinación, con toda esa magia de la cultura china con sus dramas históricos, pero sin la cencura que es la que muchas veces no nos deja disfrutar completamente de las historias bl.

La historia me gusto mucho, una buena mezcla de romance, drama, diversión y amistad; Xiao Bao es un protagonista adorable, super dulce, un niño mimado y un poco travieso y muy enamoradizo, me morí de amor con ese niño, al igual que con su familia y amigos, tenía un círculo cercano que lo amaba mucho, con un padres y hermana cariñosos, sus guardaespaldas leales y super divertidos que hacían un equipo fenomenal, así como Su Yin, otro amigo fiel que aunque era algo estricto, lo quería tanto que se arriesgaba completamente con tal de protegerlo. Lastimosamente el otro protagonista no contaba con el mismo apoyo, ya que su "padre" era un ser miserable que lo torturo toda la vida y lo convirtió en un asesino, solo contaba con el apoyo de sus leales guardaespaldas; hasta que conoció a Xiao Bao, desde ese momento conoció el verdadero amor y la vida de ambos cambio radicalmente.

Crearon un vinculo muy fuerte, lleno de altibajos; ambos sufrieron y con ayuda del otro y de las personas a su alrededor crecieron como personas y maduraron bastante. El final fue muy bonito, después de tanto sufrimiento, ya era hora que todos fueran felices.

No les doy 10 estrellas, porque aunque evidetemente los protagonistas tenían mucha química y se amaban profundamente; no soy muy fan de las relaciones posesivas 🚩 y sé que aunque el pobre de Huai En es resultado del maltrato de su padrastro, no justifico que por sus celos obsesivos le causara tanto daño a Xia Bao y a personas inocentes; para mí un amor más real, puro y devoto era el de Su Yin, que aunque nunca confirmo que sintiera amor romántico por Xiao Bao, si demostro con hechos y acciones lo importante que era para él, siempre lo protegio y lo apoyo, buscando lo mejor para el inocente príncipe, incluso cuando no estuvo de acuerdo con su elección final, siguio deseando lo mejor para su vida... Su Yin es un hombre maravilloso y espero que tenga una vida increíble y que encuentre a alguien que lo ame y lo valore como lo merece (probablemente ya lo encontró, solo le falta darse cuenta y educarlo un montón 🤭)

-¿Crees en el destino? -yo creería en el por ti, porque te conocí

Antes que nada tengo que decir que talvez objetivamente no es una serie de 10 pero para mi lo fue, para mi me dio de todo y hasta de lo que no esperaba yo solo tengo que decir, que esta es una serie serie toda perfecta.
Primero la historia y es que algo que si quiero destacar es que al principio puede parecer un poco "curiosa" (en el buen sentido de la palabra) por las situaciones y maybe también por los comportamientos de los personajes pero a partir de los capítulos 5 y 6 la serie va para arriba completamente y hace que valga totalmente la pena.
Si es un poco cliché pero siento que no cae en típica historia de amor saben.
Pasando a hablar de la pareja principal Noey y Thi, Noey al principio si te deja un poco wtf con sus comportamientos pero es porque todavía no lo conocemos y la vd que termina siendo una green flag total, neta que el cambio que va teniendo conforme avanza la serie es algo notorio y digno de admirar, luego también toda su personalidad es otro cosa que lit termina siendo único (lit todo esto de que nomas escucha una canción y que como que todo desde su vestimenta hasta su cuarto esta ambientado), es super bonita persona, la dinámica que tiene con su mama y su hermana, es de las mejores dinámicas familiares que yo he visto.
Thi es igual una green flag completamente, es una super bonita persona si al principio se ve toda esta faceta de el teniéndole miedo a Noey (que en realidad no nomas el sino todo el pueblo) pero yo pensé que se iba a mantener asi pero conforme avanza ves a un Thi mas decidido en todas sus decisiones que si, sigue dudando en decir las cosas pero ahora es porque tiene mas en cuenta los sentimientos, tambien lo podemos ver mas realizado como persona, como básicamente al igual que Noey tiene todo este crecimiento.
Ya ellos como pareja y maybe no como tal si no es todo este proceso donde se van conociendo y se van dando cuenta de lo que sienten, tienen de las escenas mas hermosas que yo he visto, luego que cada que tienen un "momento" de que ellos dos y que empiece a sonar el OST de la serie (Destiny) neta te da otro sentimiento, por destacar mas momentos tenemos cuando Noey le esta haciendo corazones de maneras diferentes, cuando se peinan igual, cuando lo ayuda en todo este cap de el voluntariado en la biblioteca, el te amo en la rueda de la fortuna, cuando Noey le dice a Thi "tendre exito x ti", neta se ven tan bonitos y real funcionan pq siento que se complementan super bien siento que ambos representan algo que les falta.
También tenemos otros personajes que destacan (unos mas que otros)
Tim/tia Tim y Nid Nhoi, ellas neta son otro pedo, sin duda Tim es de las mejores madres que yo he visto, ver la dinámica que tiene con sus dos hijos es hermosa, se ve que se llevan super bonito y que siempre están para todos, Nid Nhoi es otro personaje que carrea y mucho, tiene una personalidad muy de risa pero que se ve que ella siempre se ha esforzado bastante no por nada en varias ocasiones se ofrece a ser ella la tutora de Noey.
Thiw y en general toda la pandilla Watphlu, su lema de nunca dejar atrás a nadie, Thiw siendo la mano derecha y mejor amigo de Noey, lit se deja ver toda una hermandad entre todos, que si al principio no dejan de meterse en problemas, para el final el cambio que le dan a todos es hermoso.
Creo que puedo mencionar a los amigos de Thi que si bien si tienen unas participaciones, siento que no destacan mucho diría que su participación mas alta fue cuando están en el voluntariado pero aun asi es bueno verlos.
Esta serie es una montaña de emociones, pq en unas escenas si es un cague de risa, en otras si te puedes enojar, vas a llorar y bastante (la volví a ver y aun cuando sabia lo que pasaba volvi a llorar como nunca), en los últimos caps la serie se vuelve muy cruda a mi parecer, la ame por completo.
Algo que le tengo que aplaudir pq es simplemente hermoso son los créditos al final de cada cap (ellos bailando el OST) es hermoso pq en cada cap es diferente nunca ponen el mismo baile, y es admirable pq hasta ahi puedes ver un avance, los créditos del capitulo 11 a mi me destrozaron x completo, y el capitulo 12 ese es por completo toda la mezcla de emociones yo sin duda volvería a ver esta serie siempre:)
La frase del titulo es del cap. 12. Y otra frase que quiero destacar que es del mismo cap es esta "pero antes de que me muera de angustia quería verte una vez mas, otra vez, otra vez, otra vez y otra vez, y una y otra vez, otra vez, otra vez."

mi amado kdrama del año...

Cuando me di cuenta de este proyecto me emocione mucho, principalmente por mi Ju Somin que adoro y segundo por el gran elenco que lo conformaba. Desde allí se supo que iba a ser unos de los mejores kdramas de este año, los que llevamos un buen tiempo en este mundo lo sabiamos y era unos de los más esperados. Así que tenia altas espectativas y realmente puedo decir que las cumplio, hasta las supero. Para mi #LoveNextDoor fue mi kdrama de confor y me hizo muy feliz, también lloré demasiado por lo bien hecho que estaba el guión. Te muestran varias historias de la cotidianidad y como se va desarrollando para mejor. Te hace ver situaciones vulnerables mientras se descubre el amor y se sostiene la amistad. También hay momentos de humor donde puedes reir, enamorarse, enojarse, estar trister y más. Te da una buen enseñanza de la vida, los amigos, los amores, la familia y lo más principal, el tema de descrubir su pasión además que siempre hay la posibilidad de hacer las cosas que te gustan.

Ya hablando de temas más técnicos, la dirección, la actuación, la fotografía y el guíon estuvieron increible. Todo tan bien pensado y trabajado. Además del OST que es un joyita. Así que si quieres ver un kdrama bien desarrollado, divertido, fresco y cautivador es este el perfecto.

Tal vez, hay varias personas que no les termino de gustar o que el final no les lleno, es porque quieren algo donde de centre más el romatincismo, el amor, y no tanto en una realidad, no será tu kdrama fav.

Tierna para reventar

Love next door es una serie que acuna el corazón desde el primer minuto.
Como mujer de 57 años me sentí muy identificada con los sentimientos, pensamiento y las emociones de las hermanas Lavanda.
También veía muy bien interpretadas las dificultades por las que pasan los hombres de esa edad, tampoco es fácil para ellos. Lidiar con la menopausia y la andropausia requiere de mucha ternura y sinceridad.
En cuanto a las historia de Seok Ryu y Seung Hyo y de Mo Eun y Dan Ho no puede haber una cosa más tierna y yo es lo que busco a estas alturas de mi vida. Para realismo ya tengo los acontecimientos de mi vida diaria. Soy profesora de EF en secundaria y vivo cada día cada historia desoladora que necesito otras que me compensen y me hagan recuperar la esperanza en un mundo lleno de amor.
Cada capítulo ha acabado con un clímax que te subía la felicidad y te hacía esperar con ansia el siguiente.
Sobre todo el final de los girasoles… Menuda declaración de Seok Ryu. No puedo entender a quien dice que parece que ella sólo se ha dejado llevar y ha entrado en la inercia del amor de Seung Hyo… Siempre ha sido una chica que ha ido de dura, ha creado una coraza a su alrededor y no se ha permitido ser débil, y reconocer que estaba enamorada de Choisseung era hacerse frágil. Incluso más adelante lo dice ella, que se enamoró antes que él pero no quería reconocer sus sentimientos.
De todo lo que he visto de Jung Hae In (Something in the rain, Spring night, Goblin, Tune in for Love, no he visto las de DP ni Snow drop) es la que más me ha gustado. Su faceta de hombre tierno me conmueve, la escena en la que pide perdón a su novia por haberse emborrachado con sus amigos y haberle mentido en Spring night es aegyo para reventar.
Pero reconozco que el final me dejo algo decepcionada… A ver, queda claro que la historia de amor en ese barrio va a seguir… Seok Ryu y Seung Hyo están construyendo su casa, quieren mantener su vida juntos para siempre, Dan Ho y Yeon Du mudándose con la madre de Mo eun, porque lo ha pedido ella. Los padres de Seung Hyo renovando su matrimonio, las madres presumiendo de yernos y nueras…Pero se han construido muchos elementos en la historia de los que, de repente, no hemos visto su desenlace…
¿Por qué quería Seung Hyo construir un cementerio o renovar la piscina del colegio?
¿Y la cerámica de calabaza partida que le regalo a Seung Hyo su ex para su boda con Seok Ryu? Pues nos hemos quedado sin verla. Y los hemos visto a los dos vestidos de boda, pero por separado…
Y los proyectos de las madres…
Exijo un capítulo más donde todo esto se resuelva. Que es casen los cuatro juntos y se vayan de viaje de novios a Bali. He dicho

¿Quién pensaría que el sol y la luna viajarían para encontrarse?

Para empezar tengo que decir que yo me vi esta serie teniendo cero expectativas pq no conocía a la pareja principal (MosBank), no me vi el tráiler asi que no sabia que esperar y además no me leí el libro en el que esta basado, asi que hay varias cosas que me gustaría abarcar.
Primero la historia en general:
No es la mejor, tiene muchos huecos argumentales, cosas que al final terminan sin explicar, otras que les falto explicar mas, porque tenemos la historia "principal" que es toda esta parte de su pasantía, el como se dan las relaciones y como cada una va avanzando, el diseño de las joyas (que me hubiera gustado ver mas), toda esta parte de la investigación por supuesto robo (que creo que me recuerda todo esto un poco a "a boss and a babe") y después tenemos la mini-serie "Salin una aventura entre los sueños" porque si algo estoy de acuerdo es que nunca supieron como mezclar las dos cosas, siempre se mantuvieron muy aparte, explícitamente la 1ra "conexión" del mundo real y el de los sueños que se ve es hasta el cap 8 y es por la pulsera, luego hasta el cap 10 con la pintura y por ultimo hasta el cap 12 que es todo este tema del collar y del perdón, creo que podría decir que entra lo de las flores cada que Salin sueña pero ya después no se ve que aparezca tal flor y también cuando hacen el ritual pero no estoy seguro.
Que regresando al tema del cap 12 que es cuando se "resuelve" todo lo de los sueños, nunca entendí a ciencia cierta el "pasado" porque ps se entiende que Sirarin, la mujer que le pide ayuda a Salin para "escapar" pues es Salin (o al menos yo asi lo vi por una escena que nos muestran) y el que la encerro este Suriyen, que es su "enamorado" pues es Sun, pero entonces renacieron y son ellos? pero no tiene sentido pq al final cuando Salin esta con Suriyen y ademas escuchan la voz de Sirarin y pasa toda esta escena de perdón y que ojala en otra vida se puedan reencontrar, no se siento que al final "Salin una aventura entre los sueños" termino en nada.

Segundo las parejas:
Antes de comenzar de lleno, siento que esta serie tuvo el mismo problema que varias series que he visto ya, y cual es, pues básicamente que peca de tener 4 parejas "protagonistas", y es que no es la primera vez que veo que no les dan el tiempo para mostrarnos bien las relaciones.
Tenemos a Sun y Salin:
Honestamente me gustaron pero hasta ahi, se entiende que como ellos son los protagonistas pues tienen mas tiempo en pantalla que las otras, si hubo cosas que honestamente no entendía del todo ejemplo lo del Khun Dad osea si estaba muy de mas el decirle asi, pero tipo no me molestaba ni me daba cringe (yo creo que pq he visto cosas que me han dando mas cringe en series) pq honestamente no es como que abuse de decirle a cada rato casi siempre fue mas en un contexto sexual (y no lo justifico sigue siendo raro el escucharlo) y hasta donde conté Salin lo dice 9 veces y Sun nomas una vez usa Nu-Lin, dejando todo esto de lado si tienen escenas bonitas, como cuando nomas están pasando el rato o cuando Sun cuida a Salin, cuando quiere recuperarlo, yo creo a final de cuentas ellos funcionan ósea si se ve un amor pues o al menos que si se quieren bonito.
Tenemos a Sam y Yoh/Yotha:
Sin duda ellos fueron mi pareja fav, no se algo tuvieron que yo dije que bonitos se ven, yo cuando llegue al mid-season yo estaba de que, que va a pasar con ellos neta estaba en ansias y siento que pudieron haber mostrado mas escenas de como Yoh seguía con toda esta mezcla de emociones y el como Sam trata de acercarse a el, pq nomas hubo una escena y de ahi nos pasaron a la confesión de que ambos se gustaban y digo no me quejo pero ps si se nota que no tuvieron mucho tiempo en pantalla creo que lo que mas les dieron fueron 3min y fue en el cap 11 (supongo que ya sabran que escena) de ahi en mas yo diria que apariciones esporádicas y ps hasta por separado.
Tenemos a Prim y Pim:
Ellas me gustaron, siento que ellas tienen un desarrollo que nos explican mas, pq ps se nos da todo este contexto de que Pim desde siempre ha admirado a Prim, estuvieron en la misma facultad, incluso se conocieron cuando seguían estudiando y por razones de la vida no se dio nada en el momento, si no ya hasta que Pim esta haciendo su pasantía, pero tienen el mismo problema que la anterior pareja, que ya hasta los últimos caps vemos un avance mas claro de ellas. (nunca entendí porque a Pim de repente se le salía hablar en ingles).
Y por ultimo Chan y Juldis:
Tengo que decir que me gustaron, tienen muchos momentos divertidos pero si siento que estuvo un poco de mas esta pareja, pq en el momento que la presentaron pues nos iban a tener que dar escenas de ellos, y siento que esta pareja existe nomas para justificar ciertas cosas que suceden en la serie (que lo mas claro seria el chantaje del video que usan varias veces en Juldis)
Si no hubiera estado chance hubieran podido trabajar un poco mas en el desarrollo de las otras 2 pero no fue asi, al final de todo termina teniendo el mismo problema que las otras 2 (falta de tiempo).

Tercero personajes extra y conclusiones:
Quitando a todas estas parejas pues tenemos la aparición de mas personajes que terminan quedándose a la mitad.
La mama de Sun que siento que es de los que mas se salva pq siempre esta como marcado su "aparición" en los capítulos.
El papa de Salin que como me cayo mal este ñor neta, se me hizo muy innecesario y continuando quiero decir que en general la familia de Salin pq ps nos la muestran en un cap y no me hace nada de sentido que no aparezcan en el ultimo cap cuando Salin desfila neta, pq según yo nomas aparece el papa.
y después los weyes y la weya del robo eso tambien se quedo a medias, nunca se nos dijo qpd, ni con el robo de la 1ra joya neta nada.

Entonces si es una serie que le falto trabajar muchas cosas, bastantes pero no se, maybe no se merecía todo el hate que le cayo, pq ps dentro de lo malo esta lo bueno y esta serie tiene ambas tiene cosas muy buenas y malas, pero que ya ni modo, que se le va a hacer simplemente nos queda disfrutarla, yo creo que las actuaciones estuvieron bastante bien simplemente el guion no fue de lo mejor, ojala ver al MosBank en alguna otra serie con una mejor estructuración:)

Todo lo que podría pedir y más

Empiezo a creer que Taiwán ha alcanzado la máxima experiencia en la narrativa del BL. ¿Cómo es posible que manejen tan bien los ritmos? ¿Que la música esté tan bien introducida y consiga hacerte sentir tantas cosas? ¿Por qué son capaces de destrozarte emocionalmente de esta manera?

Adoré la historia, la actuación de Liu Dong Qin y Benjamin Tsang, el ambiente, la escenografía, los planos...

De verdad, espero que hagan segunda temporada, porque acabé llorando en un avión de vuelta a casa y quiero pensar que no me voy a quedar con una historia en puntos suspensivos...

Encantadora!!

Una historia mu divertida, y que todos lo que amamos esta pareja en "No gain No love" seguro amaran, la historia No es mas que un sin off de "No gain no love" donde nos cuenta como Ja Yeon termina en el universo de la novela que esta escribiendo.

La verdad es que iba a ver esta serie solo porque amaba esta pareja en "No gain no love" pero me divertí bastante, ademas me hizo recordar cuando vi "eres extraordinaria" que tenia una trama de universos literarios parecida a la de esta historia.

Sin duda una historia que te va a sacar risas y aunque es super corta, nos hace entender mucho a los personajes y sus comportamientos y siento que en esos dos cap vimos un muy buen desarrollo de los protagonistas. fueron 2 ep cargados y la verdad se me fueron super rápido, amaría ver a estos dos actores actuando de nuevo juntas, me gusta mucho la química que tienen.

La musica es divina, me encanta el ost, la volvería a ver, es una historia super corta que te saca risa y que es muy amena. Mi única queja es que es muy corta, pero de ahí en mas, es muy disfrutable.

Pero solo quiero amarte, quiero amarte sin importar lo que piense la gente.

Después de ver las otras series del pondphuwin ya nomas me quedaba esta, su 1ra serie (según yo) y honestamente me gusto, pero hasta ahí, eso sí tengo que decir que tuvo muchas más cosas buenas que cosas malas.

La historia si siento que es muy cliché o bueno al menos con todo este tema de universitarios, el tímido (sin autoestima) y el chico popular (que se enamora de el a 1ra vista).
Pero bueno hablando en general de la pareja principal Pi es esta persona que no tiene amigos es muy tímido, también tiene muy poca o nula autoestima, y que se enamora de Mueang Nan según yo nomas por esa vez que lo acompaño a la parada de autobús, no vi un gran crecimiento en el durante la serie porque literal aun después de su cambio sigue teniendo todas estas inseguridades y digo se entiende y muy respetable porque quien en uno para decirle como sentirse, pero yo esperaba que por ahí de los últimos capítulos ya se viera un Pi más seguro de él, de lo que siente y asi, se la pasa mucho con esta idea de que Mueang es la única persona con la que quiere estar y aun cuando pasan ciertas cosas que ya como que le dejan en claro el sigue aferrado pero punto bueno porque tiene momentos demasiado chistosos que real me hicieron reír y no darme cringe (como otras series).
Luego tenemos a Mork que honestamente me cayó espectacular pero siento que a veces si se dejaba llevar demasiado por sus sentimientos (como cuando Pi seguía en negación pero el decidió decir algo en un live), como que el niño no conocía los limites pues pero la verdad siento que carrea mucho los giros que hay en la trama y que nos explican varias cosas de porque Mork tiene sentimientos por Pi (y si te hablo a ti capítulo 9 y 10), spoiler y ni creo que tanto pero la verdad o al menos yo desde el principio si supuse que Mork era el amigo con el que nomas Pi hablaba por mensaje "un chico de la facultad cercana" pero como dije tiene otros giros el muy interesantes.
Ya ellos como pareja siento que no se ve mucho de ellos (por lo que ya dije que se extendieron yo digo mucho con la trama de Pi queriendo con Mueang y rechazando a Mork) pero bueno lo bueno es que podemos ver distintas facetas de ellos, como al principio escondiéndose, luego pues yo digo que si bien nos dejan ver a Pi más con sus inseguridades también se ve que Mork tenía algunas y luego ya tenemos todo este proceso de aceptación y de ellos ya no importarles lo que la gente diga. En términos generales a mi gustaron mucho.

Luego la pareja secundaria Duean y Meen me gustaron como pareja, siento que se ven muy bonitos además si está muy cagado toda esta parte donde estás viendo los capítulos y de repente te mandan a ver la historia de un senior de 5to año o algo asi, digo si tuvieron muchos tropiezos en su relación (más Duean) pero pues al final todo termina de la manera más bonita y pues todo este cambio que se nos deja ver de Duean gracias a que llego Meen a su vida si es algo de admirar si me hubiera gustado ver más de ellos.

Luego tenemos varios personajes secundarios primero la pandilla de Mueang (Koh, Jok, James y Jeans) que umm no sé qué opinar de ellos a ciencia cierta, ósea están cagados y eso y caen bien, pero para mí no destacaron demasiado y al final para mi nomas existían y ya.

Luego tenemos a Mueang que no te cae ni bien ni mal pero luego en unos capítulos lo medio desaparecen y luego que no asista a la fiesta de Mork tampoco me hace sentido porque pues a lo que entendí ellos son mejores amigos y ya en el final le dan una micro escena de él llegando ya con la pareja principal e incluso Mork le dice de que no viniste a mi fiesta y él lo justifica diciendo que tenía algo que hacer además de decir que le dio un regalo (ayudarlos a descubrir cómo se sentían) y ya eso es todo.
Y ya por último Bam que ella al principio caía bien, pero la arruinaron con el tema que le dieron y al final nomas para darle un final feliz siento que lo que hicieron con el personaje se lo sacaron de la cola porque la justificación neta es de lo más pedorra que puede haber literal lo típico de siempre.
Mención especial a los dos weyes de los fandoms que crearon, que honestamente si tengo yo todo un temita con respecto a las acciones que hicieron (el acoso, el hablar mal de los ships, el seguirlos hasta su casa, el tomarles foto) umm no, pero siento que también lo han de haber puesto como un reflejo de todas las personas que se obsesionan con las personas que forman un ship y que ya se ha visto mucho el acoso que suelen recibir los famosos por parte de esta gente.

En general una serie que destaca en varias cosas tiene cosas muy padres (la comedia que tiene para mí de lo mejorcito), pero que también le falto trabajar mucho en otras cosas, por decir el hermano de Pi y Duean este Wan a mí me hubiera gustado verlo más, ver más la dinámica que tenían los tres siento que tienen un vibra bien bonita entre otras cosas que para mí faltaron.
La escena con donde ya se dicen que tú eres mi fish in the sky es de lo mejor y la escena final también es hermosa yo quería ver más de ellos:)
(algo que creo ya he dicho es que algo que me gusta y a la vez es que he visto que los personajes de Pond siempre son los que la "cagan" y a los que les toca pedir perdón necesito una serie donde esto se invierta).

Una expresión te pido

Es mi primera review como tal en esta página así que trataré de ser muy puntual en lo que quiero hablar

El protagonista masculino: Chico, tienes 30 años y has estado en un montón de dramas antes, ¿por qué solo tiene una expresión en la cara durante toda la serie? Está enojado, triste, enamorado, sorprendido, traicionado pero su cara es un lienzo en blanco total... Exceptuando algunas veces cuando hace el esfuerzo de abrir sus ojos un poquito más o una sonrisa casi a la fuerza. No era algo que podía ignorar, lo siento, me fue difícil disfrutar las escenas bellas y emotivas porque solo podía pensar... "Por favor, cambia la cara, por favor"
- Para no parecer tan hater, algo que sí me gustó de este actor fueron las escenas de peleas... No sé si contrataron un buen doble o tal vez utilizaron efectos especiales pero se veía muy real y podía ver al mismo actor con mucha técnica y movimientos muy profesional... Muy cool.

Solo son unas chicas: No les voy a mentir, este hubiese sido un dorama perfecto si no fuera por los hombres xdd. Sin ánimos de ofender, pero cada vez que aparecía un hombre algo malo siempre pasaba. La relación entre las mujeres de la familia Hua fue hermosa de ver... Al principio se trataron como enemigas y casi un "Sálvense quién pueda", pero pudieron resolver sus conflictos y unirse para salir de las adversidades que les tenía preparado el futuro, o debería decir el dictador, perdón emperador.

Me encantó los temas del matrimonio, de la maternidad, creo que da un muy buen mensaje sutil, pero para nada inútil. No te lo estrellan en la cara como MIRA, UN MENSAJE FEMINISTA, DANOS UNA BUENA REVIEW, es algo que se ve en la misma actitud de los personajes en pequeños diálogos frases, sin ser una lección que te darían en el colegio.

Dictatorship is not hot: El único cdrama histórico que vi antes fue uno en que el Emperador era un pan de Dios, gracioso, bondadoso y sobretodo justo, pero sabía que era algo único y que era la excepción a la regla. Con este drama confirmé que efectivamente existen personajes así.

Es el peor, un dictador en el máximo sentido de la palabra, y ya sé que estoy poniendo palabras anacrónicas en un drama que nada que ver con críticas políticas, pero es cierto... Es una tiranía de no ver, y yo entiendo que sí, un gobernador no tiene por qué ser "bueno", pero sí justo y atento a su población, el Emperador solamente quería ver a todo el mundo sufrir a costa suya. No lo sé, sin embargo quisiera que se hubiera explorado más en sus objetivos o fines... ¿Por qué era así? ¿Era por poder? Si bien al final se nos da como una pista nunca entendemos realmente por qué... Me parece que hubiese estado bonito aclarar ese aspecto.

Perdón si fui dura con mi rating, pero el actor principal sí tuvo mucho que ver... espero que mejore. Por otro lado, la actriz hermosa como siempre, qué reina.

Encantadora

Fue muy agradable cuando supe que se realizaría este spin off de la serie No Gain No Love (NGNL), porque me encantó. Lo que no imaginé es que este pequeño spin off dialogara tanto con la serie madre, insertándose en un espacio coherente en el desarrollo de la misma, sin cambiar nada de la serie original. Lo encontré muy creativo y genial. Los personajes, adorables como siempre, regalándonos un pedacito más de ellos. Buenísimas las actuaciones. No te la puedes perder si te gustó la serie NGNL tanto como a mi. Después de los créditos finales del segundo y último capítulo, una linda sorpresa. No dejes de verla.

The love of two young people and the homophobic South Korean society

'Brake' (native title 브레이크), the LGBT+-themed romantic and psychological drama directed by South Korean filmmaker Yoo Yong-hwan, tells the story of self-discovery, love and obsession of Byun Shi Woo, a shy and fragile teenager whose only hobby filming his daily life with a camcorder, and he will live a heartbreaking love story with Ha Joon, his classmate and motorcycle racer, who has earned the respect of others by imposing himself through fear.
Shi Woo's life is sad and monotonous. Abandoned by his parents in an orphanage, he spent his childhood in foster homes. Without a circle of friends or relatives, the decontextualization of his environment and where he comes from adds an aura of sadness to his person. It is therefore the viewer's task to build the puzzle that is our protagonist, using what he tells us through the way he manages his time and, above all, through his interactions with himself through the videos recorded with his camcorder.
The film is fully part of the aspect of cinema that documents the intensity of youth and young love, but against the backdrop of a heteronormative and patriarchal society in which homophobia and discrimination against those who are different persist, which, as it clearly states, Its title will mean a brake on the development of the love relationship between the two characters.
Yoo Yong-hwan and his technical team are on a mission to talk about something very complex in a sensory way, while the film tells the story of people in need of affection and love through teenage stories that seem somewhat rough and crude.
Thanks to a video filmed by Shi Woo, Ha Joon (role played by Lee Ki Hyuk – 'Little Bird', 2021), and his friends manage to evade what would be a police accusation for damage to third parties in a road accident, so that the young man until then ignored by the other classmates will become part of Ha Joon's gang. From this moment on, the attraction materializes into a tortuous and absolutely living relationship that will not escape harassment and discrimination.
Based on the script by the same director, the film captures on the screen the fierce and veiled feelings of the two young people, their discoveries and their problems, through the most frontal silences and the most violent beauty. In this story the two will choose paths that will determine their lives forever.
Love arises at the first opportunity between these two young people, who launch themselves into a relationship without materializing, because while Shi Woo secretly loves, Ha Joon does not easily assume the homosexual dimension of his growing friendship with Shi Woo. And this circumstance is subject to harassment from the protagonists' other classmates when they discover the growing love attraction between the two boys.
The dedication to deciphering a little of the psyche of the young Shi Woo is understandable, because it is clear that what matters most to Yoo Yong-hwan is the process of emotional transformation of his fascinating protagonist – played with courage by Jang Yoo Sang, an actor who We had already seen him in other LGBT+ themed films before this one, since in 2014 he starred in the drama 'One Night Only', by directors Kim Jo Kwang-soo and Kim Tae-yong, and two years before in the short film 'Night Bugs', by the latter director.
However, the process of a teenager who has never been loved in his life falling in love with someone for the first time will not be as beautiful as expected.
The story is simple, dark and normal: a person falls in love with another person, and with whom a beautiful friendship begins. However, the much more complex story of Shi Woo and Ha Joon begins to fight against the "normal", moving away from the social canons of duty, relationships, and, above all, romance. Between the simplicity of a romance and the battle against convention, 'Brake' submerges, an uninhibited, emotional, astonishing and sad portrait of two people (and everything else) who meet in the midst of adolescence, rebellious and nonconformist, and in the cracks in the establishment of South Korean society.
After crossing their destinies and fooling around with ambiguity, Shi Woo and Ha Joon will not be able to start a love relationship, as their destinies will be irremediably separated when they are ridiculed and harassed by others, so they will have to distance themselves and break up with their friendship.
The relationship between the two characters is, like many of those that happen at that age, unhealthy, absorbing and exciting. The already concise surroundings of the protagonist end up completely disappearing and what we are left with is his silent way of feeling that love and, above all, attraction. 'Brake' speaks, without making things simple for the viewer, about chemical connection and desire.
That chemical connection and that desire that leads to heartbreak because one party is far above the other in terms of having things clear. Or that's the impression it gives. The other big question that the film touches on, and it does so in an always suggestive way, is that of identity. Although Shi Woo is the main character, both he and Ha Joon will see their relationship as the definitive moment to make an irrevocable decision and define themselves as people.
Regarding this last character, the film is astutely vague when it comes to delineating the nature of their conflict. We don't know if he is struggling with repressed homosexuality or poorly digested bisexuality. Yes, we will know, by the time the adventure is over, that our main protagonist is aware of the impossibility of a romance, so it is time to move forward and not look back, to free himself from a relationship that could hardly come to fruition. If feeling that love has done anything for Shi Woo, if his erratic behavior has gotten him anywhere, it is embracing the truth about his self-discovery and sexual identity. And so, putting an end to a love relationship that never took place, in order to move on with his battered life.
Then, the film, premiered at the Seoul Pride International Film Festival, becomes a denunciation against the homophobia present in South Korean society and against its sister, internalized homophobia, as well as the lack of institutional support for helpless children.
The courage to step outside the box, therefore, must be highlighted. The creators' choices try to do so but with humility, without pontificating at any time.
Produced by Use Film, a film production project team established in 2016, the director aims to broaden the perspective of the world through stories of people who do not receive adequate care and are excluded by society.
'Brake' is an exciting example of a young cinema that is even reflected in contemporary creations – from the sentimental and social nudity of the portraits of Leesong Hee Il or In-shik Kim, to the aesthetic and ethical productions of Kim Jho Kwang Soo, Lee Joon-ik, Yoo Ha and Bang Eun-jin, among many other South Korean filmmakers, where he moves like a fish in water thanks also to the most successful and dynamic decisions, such as a musical selection where the lyrics of the songs dialogue great with the action.
The best thing is that the heart of 'Brake' is able to go beyond its stylistic resources to offer itself to the viewer as a mature, moving, intelligent, authentic and honest story, which transcends all possible borders.
The film, a true raw gem, beautiful and murky, delicate and wild, fragile and implacable, is permeated by that vehement breath of commitment to the cause told, of the almost suicidal impulse to follow the characters' choices and not distance oneself from what what happens to them, and in which the color "winter green" appears as a tone and drawing of their general image.
If you are not tired of teenage stories, the discovery of sexuality, love and heartbreak, and amorous obsessions, you will be able to fully enjoy 'Brake', another notch in the LGTB+ cinema imagination that demonstrates the good form of the theme.

Joker, the antihero we didn't know we wanted has become someone we need.
The world has always been a place full of light and shadows. Regardless of the stage in human history, crises have often led us to think that we are living in the worst times. However, the economic situation, racial tensions, the resurgence of fascism, genocide on defenseless peoples, hunger and hopelessness have always been present in our history.
In a world where money and power guarantee that athletes, some without deserving it, take a place on the national team of their sport..., in a world where the poor, including children and the elderly, live in misery and have to work sun to sun to try, without success, to pay their debts and be able to put a crust of bread in their mouth..., in a world where being rich certifies that you cannot go out on the streets at the wrong time, because they can kidnap you for ransom..., in a world that shows the most cynical face of economic power and the amorality of the media, political and economic universe..., in a world where the oppression of the individual prevails at the hands of an alienating system, inhabit the characters of 'Jack & Joker U Steal My Heart!'.

The main character of 'Jack & Joker U Steal My Heart!' It reminds us, without a doubt, of Joker, the character created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson, and introduced in the first issue of the comic book "Batman", in April 1940, published by DC Comics, becoming one of the favorite characters for their originality, and, he is equally, or more popular than his archenemy Batman. The chain of suffering and melancholy that drags the Joker of the Thai series by director Tee Bundit Sintanaparadee, recognized for directing the BL dramas 'I Saw You in My Dream' (2024), 'I Feel You Linger in the Air' (2023) , 'Hidden Agenda' (2023), 'Step by Step' (2023), 'Lovely Writer' (2021), and 'TharnType' (2019 – 2020), among others, is so palpable and shocking that the viewer has no other choice. The only way out is to identify both his family and society as the true villains of the show, in addition to allowing us to empathize with him.
But it will not be in a Gotham City inspired by New York in the 70s, for many, the darkest stage of the American city and where hope seemed to be lost, but in Bangkok in 2024, just as dark, violent and corrupt than that.

His and Joker's lives will change abruptly and unexpectedly when they find themselves involved in a complicated situation, giving way to a love-hate relationship.
The Joker of the audiovisual of the Southeast Asian country is liked and exudes a controversial charm for the population in general and the LGBT+ community in particular. And this is basically due to two things, the first is that as a viewer we manage to empathize with the human being and not just with the character. In this series, and due above all to the sublime performance of the actor who brings Joker to life, we are presented with a very human and sensitive person, despite the dramatic events that have led him to be who he is.
Second, one thing is obvious: their misdeeds are not fueled by the desire for money, personal ambitions, or other material goals. Their motivations are ideological and philosophical. It is the darkness rebelled after a dark childhood and adolescence, despite living in a wealthy family; it is the Shadow that emerges after the impact of a society that attacks and excludes, that ignores the weak, that feeds itself on its own corruption.
The character represents the Shadow that is in us. His actions remind us, without a doubt, of the concept of Shadow that Carl Jung told us about. Adverse impulses live within us that we must accept and bring to light to heal them and proceed to healing. The psychological profile of the Joker shows us, as can be deduced from the trailers, that the character lets his Shadow escape to give way to a healing process thanks to love.
What will happen when Joker's actions affect the needy and vulnerable he aims to help? What will happen when the innocent are punished for their actions?
It is not the first time that Joker, who perhaps represents that part of us that longs to break the rules and react, is represented on screen. We remember the character played by Jack Nicholson ('Batman', 1989 - Tim Burton), who brings us a gangster, that of Heath Ledger ('The Dark Knight', 2008 - Christopher Nolan), who gives us an agent of chaos, that of Jared Leto ('Suicide Squad', 2016 - David Ayer), a true sociopath, or that of Joaquin Phoenix ('Guazón', 2019 - Todd Phillips), who draws a famous crime clown and the most villainous multifaceted character of the world of comics, which transcends even the limits of his own personality and offers us a clear warning sign and a direct invitation to reflect on current societies.
However, the cunning Joker, played by the young Thai actor and musician War Wanarat Ratsameerat, remembered for playing Than in the short film 'Because I Love You' from the series 'The Right Man', in 2016, which marked his debut acting, he is a very human and vulnerable character, which is why we empathize so intensely with him. It is impossible not to put yourself in his shoes when you see how, upon discovering that his actions affect others, he without hesitation tries to correct them, even if this means admitting to his family his failure and true identity, as well as paying with years in prison.
Very plausible solution is how we can feel sympathy for a character who tries to outwit his authoritarian parents and a brother who seems to enjoy his failures as a student, and reveals himself to the shortcomings of a society incapable of assisting and giving an effective response to those who need it.
Despite coming from a privileged family, Joker suffers from a lack of affection. Unlike Jack, he does not find affection in his family life, and this has turned him into a lonely being, hungry and thirsty for love. However, we are not dealing with a person with antisocial or sociopathic personality disorder characterized by committing violent and bloodthirsty acts.
For his part, although he comes from a cosmos in which poverty, lack of material goods and the absence of his deceased parents prevail, Jack has a sweet and generous grandmother who understands and supports the young man in his daily conflicts. Much of Jack's sweetness and nobility, undoubtedly, comes from the upbringing given to him by this noble being.
Adrift from their lives, trying to find their place in the world, both of them, with such different and contrasting personalities, meet and their universes collide. With a masterful performance, a forceful script and a clear social discourse, 'Jack & Joker U Steal My Heart!' it's not just a boy's love story. It is a necessary work to understand that today there are issues that cannot be ignored. Violence, political corruption, social class contradictions, poverty, and evil have origins that must be faced and despite how dark the present may seem, crises do not last forever. Adorable historia de amor

Es un drama muy lindo; no es una historia muy compleja, pero es muy disfrutable porque es muy fácil enamorarse de los protagonistas. La princesa es una chica hermosa, adorable intrepida, valiente y algo traviesa; pero también es muy compasiva y ama a su pueblo por lo que lucha valientemente por su bienestar, a veces también es algo impulsiva y toma malas decisiones, pero para eso esta su hermoso príncipe del norte, él es el hombre perdecto, es dulce, tierno, apoya a su amada y la cuida ante cualquier cosa, literalmente dando más de una vez su vida por ella, además es muy inteligente y siempre encuentra la mejor solución a cualquier situación que se le presente; la relaciónde ambos es preciosa, va avanzando poco a poco, hasta que tienen una relación tan fuerte, que trabajan perfectamente juntos y confían plenamente el uno en el otro. El príncipe del sur es otro personaje memorable, se supone que es uno de los "villanos" de la historia, pero es imposible no quererlo, aunque es pretencioso, orgulloso y torpe, también es muy divertido, es muy gracioso que todos sus planes para separar a la princesa y al príncipe del norte terminan uniendolos más, es malo siendo malo, por lo que al final es un aliado más; al fin y al cabo el pobre hace todo eso porque se siente inferior a sus hermanos por ser ilegítimo; pero se nota que en el fondo es una buena persona. El final de la historia es simplemente hermoso; como dije, no es un drama muy complejo, pero precisamente por eso es perfecto para cuando estas cansado de ver series cargadas de drama y angustia, y quieres ver algo que sabes que sencillamente te hará feliz; así que obviamente la recomiendo mucho
