Good slice of life but less of romance
My favorite part was the acting of all the cast, the director showed very well their emotions. It's like only a part of their life were shown to us, not everything was really detailed. But still everyone will somehow grow into you. Idk if this is how a slice of life show should be but I just feel like there's still something missing especially with the progression of Qiao Xi Chen and Jian Yi Fan's relationship. Or probably it's just really focused on the friendship of the four and just a little on the romance part. This was a good slice of life show but personally I think it's a bit overrated. Was this review helpful to you?
I have so many questions for the writer but none they will enjoy
This show was SO all over the place, I was fully skimming the eps for one reason and one reason only; I had already invested time into the show. Was it trying to be a thriller? a mystery? crime? The characters were so undercooked, the dialogue weird, the chemistry non existent, the suspense was also nowhere to be seen. Like this masterplan that they've made is horrible that everyone figures it out within 5 seconds like what are we doing???? what was in the air in that writers room?
I thought the final episode was the only one that was kind of okay, I genuinely think I could have just watched that one episode and wouldn't have missed anything. Which is saying a lot considering the fact that I even skimmed that one.
What a letdown...the premise sounded so good and yet the execution was the worst.

Such a soft, emotional movie about family, with the cutest cats and incredible acting from FirstKhaotung. They always amaze me—especially Khaotung’s crying scenes 😭 His acting is absolutely incredible—it’s absolutely top-tier 🫶Lynx is a strong-willed boy with his own beliefs, and maybe a little stubborn. But he knows what’s right and wrong, and if you can prove your point, he’ll accept it instead of insisting on his own view. He may seem tough on the outside, but deep down, he has a very soft heart 🥰

THIS IS PEAK!! IT’S A MUST WATCH!!
everything about this series is made to perfection ✨👏 the overall theme was executed so well. The way it shows all types of love languages, the dynamic between different characters and big on family related situations. it’s realistic, it brings you perspectives and warmth in a very comforting way. The cats became a source to human’s happiness, acceptance of queer and the love story between tigerlynx was so beautiful. this is a must watch!! make sure to prepare tissues along the way, it’ll both wrecked you up and make you crack up like crazy. oh and 🦋🦋 will be flying everywhere across the room. this will be a rollercoaster of emotion.one thing I love most is the parallel between the moments, the dialogue that adds on to the story. The story follows and uncover the unsaid truth, the unknown thoughts between Lynx and his Mother (Je Meow). after watching it, I learn aspects and maybe realizes that love has always been around you, sometimes you just don’t realize it. it makes you appreciate things and maybe look forward to spending more time with your love ones. there are just things that can’t be said, and things that are misunderstood but at the end of the day, the love between parents and their children will always be shown, it may not be directly but it has always been there.
tigerlynx relationship status is just so pure so raw and just greeennn. it’s the most realistic one I’ve watched. the dynamic between them, they reflect real life engaging ways. TIGER is a full on GREEN FLAG, that man is the standard and this show proves that even without many kisses or nc scenes, the emotions, the tensions can be convey in such a beautiful way. the way they both yearn for one another, it was executed beautifully.
The side characters aren’t the usual catalyst ones. it’s not a cliche and you’ll totally love all side and cameo characters.
The acting for this story is 10/10, the way khaotung cries so beautifully, acted lynx out so perfectly and brings the pain, the grief of the character out so realistically 👏👏. First ate so hard being the green flag character, the emotions in his eyes, the way he falls, yearn, and finally opens lynx up, he makes me fall for tiger so bad. The overall chemistry between firstkhaotung (as always) is made perfectly to capture all the emotions, the feelings, the thoughts in tigerlynx. THEY CAN ACT and I’ll never shut up about how well they acted.
you don’t have to be a cat lover to watch this show, please open up your heart for this, I promise you..I’ll end up on your top list. (I hope this review satisfy your interest and brings you into giving cat for cash a try!!)

A True 10/10
When I tell you this show had me in a chokehold...I’m not exaggerating when I say I couldn’t skip a single scene. Not one. That alone should tell you everything. It was just… perfect. The storyline, the chemistry, the action, the characters, everything clicked. And what I really loved is that it actually balanced fantasy and romance properly. Neither one overshadowed the other, which almost never happens. Usually one ends up eating the other alive, but here? Perfect blend.
The chemistry between Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yuxiao?? INSANE. Like, I could feel it through my screen. Every look, every interaction, there was tension, there was softness, there was everything you want. You know how they say, I opened the book and they fell out? Yeah this is basically that. Perfect casting.
And the female lead, finally!!! A “strong” character who is actually strong. I’m so tired of dramas throwing around titles like “general” or “warrior” just for the character to stand there and look pretty with nothing to back the shows claims. Not here. She was smart, capable, fierce, and actually acted like it the entire time. No false marketing, no last-minute personality loss.
Also can we talk about the visuals for a second? The sets were great, sure but the COSTUMES?? Absolutely insane. Hou Ming Hao’s slutty little red number? Hang it in the Louvre. Immediately. And Lu Yuxiao’s flowy dresses?? So dreamy, so magical, I genuinely felt like I was floating half the time.
And the HAIR. Oh my god the hair. Whoever was in charge deserves a raise and a vacation. Everyone has never looked better, and the amount of creative, intricate hairstyles?? Literal dream material. No wonder everything went viral on Xiaohongshu.
Even the secondary characters?? I cared about them. Like actually cared. Their storylines didn’t feel like filler, they added to the whole thing, which just made the world feel fuller and more alive. I can safely say this has one of my all time favorite second lead couple.
I’m genuinely sad it’s over. This is 100% going on my “rewatch when life feels empty” list. It just delivered on all fronts.
And I’ll say it again because well.. I can. BEST Hou Ming Hao HAS EVER LOOKED. Top tier. No notes.

AS CLICHE AS IT GETS....
I cannot say this is a "bad "drama.this is a well wrapped home work checking all the right boxes but after watching 2 episodes and a half that's enough to understand where we are going.
this is the same story told over and over again without adding any novelty.
I guess that some people might find this cute and keep watching and I'm not saying they shouldn't. I am just here to "warn" others like me that already enjoyed this kind of story elsewhere with better writing and characters.
this drama is literally a blue print for chinese dramas
lover from highschool meet after years✅
accidentally falling into one's arms✅
fake boyfriend needed to show off ✅
bickering second couple✅
office couple✅
quite algid male✅
bubble FL✅
if you like these tropes and don't pay attention to characters or dialogues this might still be enjoyable.

Prepare yourselves for a lovely time
I'll keep it short and sweet just like the drama itself. It was a lovely show with really good leads; their chemistry, their flirting it was all so lovely to watch. The plots woven with their careers were sometimes boring but it wasn't long enough to truly break the story. Above all, the characters and the events happening felt realistic therefore it was okay that the leads didn't accidentaly meet every time they went outside.
I also appreaciated their conversations. There was no room for true misunderstandings because soon after, they would actually discuss it and resolve it. Overall, a very enjoyable little treat. I also loved that it was a shorter drama and left it at a very nice point.

started magnific but become a childish bad comedy
when a woman doesn't trust her man, she disempowers him, castrates him. This was beautiful for me at the beginning... but... yap the same shit, patterns over again. Slowly feeling so disappointed. I' m at 27th episode. She become so entitled, total unrealistic. Love the characters, the chemistry , the acting, it is a great crew , but...
She is powerful but if you see deeply she disempower her husband, the army, the leader. I did not like this at all. It became a bad childish comedy.
What she did for him in episode 26, like sedating him, "out of love and care" that's fake love. It is attachment, it is a subtle inversion of roles that mimics love. It is the greatest trap of disempowerment.
Ooo, she, weighing 40 kg, fought a 120 kg barbarian and won... I'm laughing so hard at this... Superwoman.
ohh and of course she discovers who he is and here we go again... she is upset, run from him... I am so fucking tired of this kind of script... as in Love between Lines (this moment ruining for me everything also)
in all honesty, i completely believed in her strong feminine character, it was a great example for me at the beginning... but she started to disappoint me a lot...
from 10 it drops slightly to 7, for me.
I will still watching but not with the same enthusiasm as at the beginning.

Absolutely FANTASTIC
Dream Within a Dream is one of those rare dramas that fully committed to its tone, and actually pulled it off. It had a story-within-a-story setup (which is a very difficult concept to pull off without confusing the audience) it blended comedy with well paced drama and plot, and somehow managed to make that balance work all the way through. Gorgeous work, pure quality.First of all, the comedy absolutely slaps. I don’t think I’ve laughed this much watching a cdrama before. What I really appreciated is that the show doesn’t abandon its humor as the plot gets more intense, it keeps that comedic aspect right up until the very end, which makes the whole experience feel cohesive rather than tonally confused. I have to emphasize this because I've watched a lot of dramas where it starts off as something fun and charming but ends with a totally different identity. This drama? Wonderful from start to finish.
Liu Yuning was a standout here. This is genuinely the best I’ve seen him, he looked great, but more importantly, his comedic timing was ON POINT. I really hope he leans into this kind of “hopelessly in love but slightly ridiculous” character again in the future because he clearly has a knack for it.
And I have to mention Fugui, FUGUI!!! His comedic timing was incredible. If you’ve seen The Prisoner of Beauty, his character there had a similar energy but a much more tragic trajectory, so seeing him here alive, well, and consistently hilarious was deeply satisfying. The actor did a fantastic job.
The script itself is strong, though it can get a bit overwhelming at times. I actually had to take breaks between episodes because there’s so much going on, but interestingly, every time I came back to it, I was completely hooked again. That says a lot about how engaging it is overall. I think if I watched it as it was airing it would have been the perfect experience for me.
That said, it’s not without flaws. The romantic chemistry felt a bit uneven, while Liu Yuning fully sold it, I didn’t quite feel the same level of emotional investment from Li Yitong. It created a slight imbalance that made parts of their relationship less compelling than they could have been. However, I still think they looked great together and both gave such strong performances as their characters that I could overlook this in the long run.
Also, the second male lead? I genuinely could not stand him. Just relentless, frustratingly one-dimensional, and so single-minded that it became more irritating than interesting. While I do think that this might have been because he IS in theory a tropey tv show character, I still disliked it. Mainly, because the whole point of the show is Li Yitong's character realizing that the "characters" around are real and multi faceted. And don’t even get me started on the in-universe scriptwriter's questionable choices all around.
On the production side, though, this drama really shines. The editing is sharp, the color grading is beautiful, the costumes and sets were genuinely impressive, and the supporting cast added a lot of depth. There’s a strong sense of overall synergy that made the world feel fully realized.
The ending was also surprisingly well done, I’m honestly still a bit shocked they managed to get that past censorship rules around this kind of plot. And true to form, the show kept delivering on the humor until the very last moment. Even the post-credits and extras were hilarious.
Overall, this was a genuinely delightful watch. It’s chaotic, funny, occasionally overwhelming, but ultimately very well put together. Definitely one of the most fun dramas I’ve seen in a while and probably will keep this title for a bit.

worth every second to watch
I’ve reached a point where I’ve watched enough BL that finishing a series now requires something more, something meaningful. Not just chemistry, not just fan service, but a reason to invest my time. The Eighth Sense is one of those rare shows that understands relationships beyond labels. Whether straight or gay, it explores how people grow into each other, how timing, emotional baggage, and self-awareness shape connection. It reminds us that relationships aren’t just about romance; they’re about helping each other carry the weight we bring with us.
This isn’t a show driven by “shipping” or exaggerated chemistry. It simply is. And if you know, you know.
Beautifully written and acted, it avoids unnecessary hype and instead leans into quiet authenticity. There’s restraint here—less about tension, more about truth. It’s about finding the right person at the right time and having the courage to hold on.
At its core, it’s about shedding the masks we wear…peeling back the layers to reveal who we really are. And in that process, discovering ourselves through someone else.
I’ve grown a bit weary of many Thai BLs lately, searching for stories with depth. I’ve started finding that in Korean, Japanese, and some Taiwanese series and I’m glad this search led me here.
I may be late to The Eighth Sense, but in my search for something real, I’m grateful I found it.

Deserved to be a Drama of the year
First of all, I do LOVE all the characters, they were cast perfecty & suit their roles well. I esp love Qi Min the most (Deng Kai did an impressive job here), from my first impression, I did not think he would be that bad person. But Deng Kai portrayed Qi Min well that I could not 100% hate him. I (and I believed that other ppl) feel sorry for his lost and hatre. He was born into a very high status, yet had to live in suffering & constant paranoia. What Sui Yuanqing last few words for him was absolutely right. Also, his obsession towards Yu Qianqian was truly terrifying, he was extremely fixated on her. If I were her, I would run away as far as I could and even wish for her husband's de*th. In addition, the story at Lin'an village was truly impressive, the villagers and their normal lives. When the ML disguised himself and lived there, it felt so peaceful and full of simple happiness. Also, I really love how strong the female characters are in this show. Furthermore, every character was presented beautifully, and all the actors and actresses did an excellent job. And for the custume, makeup, and scenary were amazing.Overall, Persuit of Jade is absolutely worth watching!

Cant believe this was hype up. Ok at everything but good at nothing.
It’s hard to put into words how I feel about this drama, but “mediocre” is probably the best way to describe it.First, the props, world building, magic system, and overall concept are probably the strongest aspects of the show. It really does transport you into a fantasy world and makes it feel believable. But that’s where it stops.
We are first introduced to Naksu, who goes on a killing spree for an unknown reason, which we learn later. She is injured and forced to switch her soul through, you guessed it, “Alchemy of Souls.” Cue the outro music; we get the title of the show said as dialogue, I’m joking here. She then becomes Mu Deok, a “blind,” otherwise unremarkable girl. She gets sold to what is essentially a brothel, where she is then introduced to the Four Seasons, Jin Cho-yeon, Park Dang-gu, Seo Yul, and finally our male lead, Jang Uk.
We learn that Jang Uk is also an unremarkable person who has been kicked out by many masters due to the fact that his father sealed his energy channels, preventing him from performing spells or becoming a mage.
Then the story slowly unfolds, revealing why Jang Uk is unable to perform spells and what his father, Jang Gang, did. Naksu, now Mu Deok, also has her own secret. She is a soul shifter trying to regain her power, hiding her identity, and using Jang Uk to do so, while Jang Uk is using her to break the seal and become a mage.
The story continues to unfold, and the relationship between Jang Uk and Mu Deok drives much of the narrative. They attempt to keep Mu Deok’s identity a secret, while interacting with many supporting characters as they learn about the ice stone, the people behind the newly created soul shifters, and Jang Gang’s past mistakes.
Here is my problem with the show. Multiple times throughout the story, we are clearly teased that Mu Deok is Jin Bu-yeon, like when she magically opens the secret vault of the Jin family, which can only be opened by someone from that bloodline.
It became so predictable that it almost felt insulting when the characters later learned the “truth.” The music swells, faces look shocked, but as a viewer, I was just thinking, yeah, that’s exactly what I expected.
As for the romance, I don’t even know what to say. Why do the Crown Prince and the male lead have better chemistry than the female lead and the male lead?
Why does the comedic love triangle between Park Jin, Maid Kim, and Master Lee feel more compelling than the main couple?
It’s probably because the show created a more compelling first love story between Seo Yul and Naksu. I’m sure there are people rooting for that pairing. It’s simple, people love a good underdog story. There was never really a sense that the female lead might end up with someone other than the male lead, so the tension just wasn’t there.
There was just very little at stake, or the emotion was not built correctly. The drama didn't successfully convey to me why I should care about Jang Uk and Mu Deok's romance; much of it was due to circumstance. She needs help to get her power back, and he needs her to give him power. Yes, they both make sacrifices for each other and say cliché one-liners, but that is not enough to make me believe in their "love."
Or when Jang Gang returns, confesses his sins, and sacrifices himself, which was probably meant to be an emotional moment. It just falls flat. I suppose it was meant to show that even a “good” person can make the wrong choices that lead to all the problems in the story. So, in a sense, he ends up feeling like the main antagonist of the show.
Or Shaman Choi could also be considered one of the main villains. Why do I feel bad about her death? Because she was evil? Or a cause of circumstance and prejudice against the shaman? Like they had to add a line saying she descended from the bloodline of the person who caused the disaster 200 years ago to really nail home the fact that she is evil.
I'm not saying they are not wrong, I'm pointing out the fact, why do I care about these villains? And even when they are defeated, I still feel nothing like cool. We built it all up, and the climax was meh.
It’s sad because the show had the potential to go in a much stronger direction. But ultimately, the characterization of Jang Uk and Naksu, along with their lackluster chemistry, makes everything else feel less meaningful. When the central relationship feels lackluster, it becomes hard to care about the stakes, the conflicts, or even the resolution.
At the end of the day, no matter how strong the world-building or concepts are, if the characters and their relationships don’t resonate, then nothing else really matters. And that is why, despite all its potential, the drama ends up feeling just mediocre.
Lowkey, though, that scene with the crown prince and Jang Uk on the bridge with the yin yang stone... LMAO WHY do they have better CHEMISTRY?!?!

Kicking Myself For Putting It Off For So Long
Love Between Fairy and Devil really had everything: stunning visuals, layered characters, angst, yearning, romance, and even morally questionable choices that kept things interesting, a sweet FL that didn't annoy me, who was naive but believable and a ML who was toxic at times but felt real enough that I didn't have to force myself to like him, the plot did it for me.I had put this show off for a long time because like I said, I expected the female lead to be overly sweet (and borderline annoying) and the male lead to lean too far into toxic tropes. To some extent, those elements are kinda there, but the way they’re written, performed, and framed through the dialogue and cinematography made them feel much more grounded and emotionally authentic that it didn't bother me and actually added to the experience. I can't imagine the characters being any other way. Kudos to the writer and the director because I can really tell that a lot of care went into making this show.
The female lead, Little Orchid, was a pleasant surprise, sweet and somewhat naive, but in a way that felt believable rather than frustrating. I was initially scared because I'm very familiar with Yu Shuxin's acting and her portrayal of characters but honestly? This character was made for her and she really brought Little Orchid to life. The FL's decisions always made sense within the context of her character and her past, which made it easy to stay invested in her journey. Even though I'm not a big fan of overly sweet and innocent characters, Little Orchid wasn't actually JUST that, she had a lot of depth and heart which made me connect to her character. Shuxin also brough out something very different for the last quarter of the show that really made the show way more interesting anf I personally thought she pulled it off well. I can't say anymore because it would be a spoiler, please watch it.
I also didn’t think Little Orchid was “stupid,” which was a criticism I often saw. She was kind-hearted, pure, and brave, someone who understood the risks of her actions and chose to take them anyway. I think there’s an important distinction there. She didn't jump into danger without thinking it through and expected others to magically solve her problems, she just grew up with a very low sense of self worth due to her low station within the society and is very sacrificing by nature which formed her actions and her reasonings. While I usually gravitate toward more cunning, strategy-driven female leads, Xiao Lan Hua(Little Orchid) stayed completely true to who she was: a loving, courageous little orchid with a giant heart.
For the male lead, Dongfang Qingcang, I especially loved his character development. Even though his name is GENUINELY a mouthful, watching his arc unfold was one of the strongest parts of the show. His actions all throughout the show through various changes he experienced really resonated with his character and rarely felt out of place. I also think Wang Hedi did a really great job with this character and I almost couldn't tell he was dubbed. The dubber and the character worked so well together.
The show also LOOKED really good overall. Visually, the CGI was impressive, the sets were beautifully designed, and the costumes added so much to the overall atmosphere. With cdramas, the sets and CGI can really make or break a good concept (iykyk) and for a fantastical show you really need that good production quality. I think Love Between Fairy and Devil really brought that.
Overall, this was a beautiful and emotionally engaging watch. Wang Hedi and Yu Shuxin both delivered strong performances and brought a lot of emotional depth to their roles.
My only real complaint is how rushed the ending felt which is why I dropped half a point. I wished we had one more episode or even 30 more minutes to wrap it up. Everything before that, though? Genuinely fantastic. If you're on the fence about watching it, just press play and thank me later.
