The first few episodes of this drama was EXTREMELY slow. There were times in this drama where i wanted to bash my head in just because all was shown was flashbacks or slow walks or someone contemplating about the past. Around episode 6 or 7, the drama began to pick up, introducing the relationship between Park Shin Hye and Jung Wa, and I have to say that it was extremely watchable after that. The OST's for this drama were phenomenal, they did a great job at writing them and using them at good parts of the drama. Of course, the love stories(main and side ones, I personally liked the drummer and the dancer/actress) were cute. The chemistry between Jung Wa and Shin Hye was easily seen when they were dating, everything they did together was just cute.

After reading the premise i was excited for the show but what a disappointment this was. The first 6 episodes was wasted on a boring story line and by the time the real one came about it just was predictable and fell flat. It's also a problem when the supporting cast acts better than the lead cast & the chemistry between some of the characters wasn't that believable. At the end of the day this drama leaves you empty. I think the only saving grace of this show was the music and that's it.

Great acting paired with an interesting story line. I saw Maou first and then watched The Devil and, as the original, it was even better than my beloved Maou. This drama is a must see.

Although I do see some valid points in the reviews before this one, I enjoyed this drama to no end. The plot was messy and all over the place but that's probably due to the writer switches and PD/Director switches and not to mention Mrs. Park's car wreck that prolonged/altered the story that set this drama off the balance early on. With all that in mind - the drama (with those elements factored in) wasn't the worst drama I've seen and not the best. It was more like a comfort food. It kept me full and was soothing while doing so. It doesn't have a deep plot but the characters carried it for me. Set aside how much of a babe Yonghwa is, Minhyuk's character was just oodles and oodles of fun for me. It's cliche, but I liked every minute of it.

I had low expectations for this Drama, because of the cast.

The first 7 episodes were boring, but it gets better on Episode 8. The story developed really well and there were so many funny scenes. You just need to endure some of the first episodes, which were boring. After that you won't regret watching this Drama. It's amazing!

Kim Soo Hyun (Song Sam Dong) was great in here. Ahn Kil Kang as Ma Doo Shik was fabulous. He was so funny.

Rain and Song Hye Kyo really have great chemistry.

I watched this with high expectations. But I ended up being disappointed.

You couldn't see the the thread running though the story.

I personally think that Song Hye Gyos should work on her acting skills. None the less, she is gorgeous.

Rain on the other hand was ok. You should watch "Sang-doo, let's go to school" if you want to witness his true acting skills.

I watched because of Park Shin Hye, not so much of Yong Hwa. He is good looking but his acting skill is a bit low rate. Even in You are Beautiful, he was only so so in his role, luckily Shin role is supposed to be cool and reserved. But in Heartstring, he need to be more emotional, playful and a little arrogant character. He cant bring that out. Poor PSH,no doubt she is good but her main lead spoilt it for her. Sad to say, I will rate it ordinary, as I actually skip to watch the final just for the sake of finishing the whole episode. Its a total bored drama.

Surprising and captivating. The most beautiful thing about this drama is that it shows the importance of friends and teaches you that hard work pays off at the end. The acting was exceptional and the drama was hilarious- if I was not laughing by the end of the episode, I would definitely be smiling =) but it also made you cry (can it be more perfect?) You can observe the characters developing and changing for the better. Overall it was perfecto and very realistic. This is a must watch!...and it might seem boring for the first 30 minutes, but stick to it because it will leave you smiling =D

What a super duper disappointment!!!!! It started off really sweet and funny but the minute the two leads expressed their feelings towards each other, the drama went down the hill. The chemistry was horrifying- even when they held hands, it felt awkward. The story became very predictable in turn making it boring =( If you are a fan of Jung Yong Hwa (main guy lead), then you might like this drama, but based on the story line and drama wise, you might suffer.

This drama started off really promising - and I'll admit I started to watch it because of Park Shin Hye and Yong Hwa. I wanted them to be together in You're Beautiful and I was happy to see a drama with both of them as the leads again. Maybe part of the reason is I was watching quite a few dramas at the time I was watching this, but it started to get boring to me. The story was slow in the beginning and after a while I wasn't really going crazy over this drama. It was ordinary to me. I also found most of it to be predictable, especially towards the ending. Majority of this story revolves around the musical.

The cast was one of the main reasons I continued to watch this show. I think Park Shin Hye is a great actor and it was nice to see her and Yong Hwa working together again. And the drummer from CNBlue, Kang Min Hyuk, as Joon Hee was cute (: The rest of the acting was well done, too.

The music was the other main reason for my continuing of the show. I loved all the songs and there wasn't a single one I disliked.

My rewatch value for this show is low because it didn't interest me as much as other shows have.

Overall: If I hadn't been watching it as it was airing I dunno how much difference it would've made. Maybe I'd have liked it a little more or maybe I'd be feeling glad it's over, the way I feel now that it's done. I gave this drama a 7 overall because of the cast and the music. I would say if you don't have anything else to watch I'd recommend watching this show, but it wasn't anything special to me

If I could give this drama an 11 I would, for me it never got boring or wanted to stop watching it. I think that the chemistry was amazing and I think that they should definitely do a drama again together. This is one of those dramas that will flood you with happiness!!!

The brilliant drama. I've watched it in very short time. Korea shows me again that historical threads are amazing too. Though the story is pretty sad, there are comedy situations as well. I was cheering on the main character all the time. I like Geom as coarse, crafty Yong and as misterious Il Ji Mae. Lee Jun Gi is wonderful actor.

The end of the series is ok, though I supposed Yong could have met her mother before death...

Anyway, definately RECOMMEND!

Still going through my N. Ryo phase so naturally I came across Joker. And all through the show the word Amazing seemed to fit just right. The storyline, the flow...the characters...the detectives...the mourning relatives...the actual BRUTALITY of the crime...It was all very well done.

Right off the bat I was enticed by the disclaimer,

"This drama is fictional. All resemblances to actual people, places or events are purely coincidental. Or you may choose to take this as purely a made up story or try to grasp an understanding of the darkness these days."

A simple but perfect set up for how brutal each episode is, not just the individual crimes but the overlaying story. Most drama's make a scene just brutal in its initial appearance. In Joker, where the first look at the murder victims might not be all that horrible, as they are carefully investigated you develop a deeper conviction that what they get - even though its not legal - is what they deserve. (Sort of brings out the worst in all of us, maybe.)

The cast is amazing. There's humor that fits in well with each characters lives, there's drama, and realistically dark content. If your not a seasoned murder detective drama watcher, you might get a little queasy. So be careful.

Finally I would like to make a point to say that, where this drama isn't unpredictable it does a great job at making you want to contradict your initial theories. Towards the end you will know what's coming BUT you will constantly try to talk yourself out of it.

So..."You want murder, destruction and revenge all tied in with remarkable characters and the barest traces of humor? Well, by golly, you've found your drama.. "

This is gonna be my all-time-favorite Drama.

I enjoyed every episode. There were just 2 episode that were a little bit boring but the rest was absolutely awesome. The acting, OST, storyline, chemistry, everything was flawless.

The performances of the kids were great. It's hard to believe that this was Kang Chan Hee's debut (young Dong Joo). He was so natural in his acting.

I was surprised by Hwang Jung Eum. This actress would be a major reason to not watch this show. But I am glad that I decided to watch this. I really hated her in "Giant". Her acting was so annoying (facial expression, speech, everything). But that was not the case with "Can you hear my heart". She portrayed Bong Woo Ri well, so that I forgot that she is an actress I actually can't stand. She was so funny and adorable.

The bromance in this drama was funny. Kim Jae Won and Nam Goong Min sure have a great chemistry. I loved their relationship.

There are usually at least one character that I dislike in a Drama, because this character is annoying or whatever. But that's not the case here. Each character was well portrayed and you could see that each character was well developed.

This is indeed a masterpiece that I recommend to everyone who wants to watch a Drama which has a plot with a deep meaning.

this is the best drama i have ever seen. the music director obviously has got skills lol the music really gets to you at the right moment. it has the best acting skils in it. and most importantly the story line. its just so tense from the first ep to the last minute. City Hunter has the best cliff hangers ever! and of course Lee min Ho's acting and handsome face.
