villian and innocent fml

i blindly watched without reading reviews, because rating was 8 after 4 finally understood what is going to be the end

ml is same as some villian from historical era who kills people without thinking, or doesn't care about anyone
he orders to kill people, does animal hunting, and also was going to cut hands of 2 people which FML stopped
he isn't nice or different to her she was in prison all time only later became chef
and there's drunk kiss scene already at 4 seriously?

just what happened to kdrama? these stories are getting a kdrama ?

all they show is cooking that's it , no romance how can you expect romance between villian killer and innocent girl?

plot was good but this can't be a romance genre ? FML is basically kidnapped and salvery ,if she doesn't obey she will be killed

Give this drama a try

No proper promotions. Just a teaser trailer and few people are waiting. In this season of good k-dramas airing, I chose this. I'm happy that I did because it doesn't feel heavy when I'm tuning in every week. I don't get why people are dropping this, it was pretty obvious that this is a healing and wholesome drama ,they expect shocking plots. I could not relate because goodness I am enjoying this. I was abit scared for episode 12 since its always rushed but thank God it wasn't. It was enough to close all plots. In a few years, people would recommend this drama and call it criminally underrated.

I’ll have whatever the script writers were smoking…

Great fun and extremely funny (I love how the parents never say anything but whenever they’re in a scene they’re eating!).

Cleverly written and I love how this parodies other BL stories - every male is gay (except the dad) and every female squeals a lot and goes completely nuts for BL shipping. The tall boy/men are tops and the short ones are bottoms and look about 12. There’s any excuse for a cheesy pick up scenarios - from a bad boy shoulder checking a cute little effeminate boy and within seconds the two are giving each other googoo eyes to a lovers’ spat caused by jealousy that morphs into passionate declarations of love. Hilarious.

Very short but very sweet.

Would I watch again? No, but will be checking out the other three series at some point

Balancing Chaotic Comedy and Serious Storytelling

The series succeeds because it fully embraces its identity as a romantic comedy while still knowing exactly when to become emotionally serious. What makes it stand out is how naturally it switches between absurd comedy, emotional drama, romance, and even heavier themes without completely losing its tone. Many scenes that could easily feel awkward or overly exaggerated somehow still work because the chemistry between the leads keeps the emotional core believable and charming throughout the entire series.

The relationship development between Si and Klao is especially enjoyable because it gradually evolves from pure comedic chaos into something emotionally sincere and surprisingly mature. The series also deserves credit for handling certain relationship conflicts and uncomfortable situations more openly and thoughtfully than many other GL dramas do. Combined with strong production quality, entertaining pacing, and genuinely funny comedy, the show remains consistently engaging from beginning to end.

At the same time, the series is not without flaws. Some plot developments rely on convenient or cliché storytelling, certain character developments happen too quickly, and the antagonist never becomes particularly complex or interesting. The portrayal of farm life remains very superficial despite being such an important part of the setting.

Still, despite these weaknesses, the series delivers exactly what it wants to be: a funny, emotional, warm, and highly entertaining romantic comedy with strong chemistry, memorable emotional moments, and a surprisingly good balance between humor and serious storytelling.

A Good Palette Cleanser

this show is the perfect palette cleanser when you want to recover your brain cells after a bad drama. it’s not exactly deep or groundbreaking, but it completely keeps your attention. the pacing is good, the setting is nice and the visual effects for the application are really fun and colorful.

the acting from the male cast was just completely elite. i desperately went into this show wanting mi-rae to end up with seo kang-joon because of all the edits i saw. but oh my god, i officially fell in love with seo in-guk instead. his micro-expressions are insane, and during his confession and the finale when he cried, i literally cried with him bcs kyeong-nam is just the ultimate best boy. i loved seeing his pov and the way he comforted mi-rae when she was so afraid of getting hurt again was just so adorable. this show did a great job of showing a lot of complexities in love without making it exaggerated.

not to shade jisoo bcs i love her but she definitely got outshined by her male leads. she was okay, but being paired up with such heavy professional actors just made her look a bit weaker this time.

but the plot is where it completely falls apart bcs of the absolute waste of the sci-fi setting. in a world where ai is literally taking over everything, this show had a perfect opportunity to deliver a deep message about why real human connection is superior. kyeong-nam was willing to repatch things with mi-rae bcs he realised he was better for her because he was real and he cared. but the ending totally copped out. look at the author yun song. she just keeps using the app, gaslighting herself into a fake relationship, and literally turning against actual humans who tell her it's bad. it felt so shallow and annoying. i wish she had just given the machine away, learned to love herself, and found real love like ji-yeon sort of did—though even ji-yeon’s ending with min lacked any real depth. if a vr app like boyfriend on demand existed in real life, the world would literally go haywire and destroy itself, so treating it like a harmless, consequence-free lifestyle choice at the end just felt lazy and simple.

its a solid 8.7/10 for the romance and the male leads, but an 8/10 overall because of the shallow plot.

A Complex and Ambitious GL Series

I think the series is one of the strongest and most ambitious GL dramas. What makes it stand out is the emotionally complex storytelling, the layered relationship dynamic between Arisa and Lalin, and especially the outstanding acting performances that carry both the romance and the heavier emotional conflicts throughout the series. The story constantly builds tension by slowly revealing the truth piece by piece, which makes the emotional payoff and character breakdowns feel very impactful.

What impressed me the most is how mature and emotionally intense the series feels compared to many other GL productions. The relationship is not built on simple misunderstandings alone, but on manipulation, guilt, trauma, love, and conflicting loyalties, which creates a much deeper emotional experience. The production quality, editing, pacing, and emotional scenes are consistently strong, and the series is not afraid to take darker or more uncomfortable storytelling directions.

At the same time, the series is not without flaws. There are some convenient or cliché drama moments, especially in the later episodes, and a few plot holes or unresolved details that become more noticeable once everything is revealed. Certain emotional resolutions also happen a bit too quickly and could have benefited from more development or explanation.

Still, despite these issues, the emotional core of the story remains extremely strong from beginning to end. The chemistry between the leads, the constant emotional tension, and the overall storytelling ambition make the series feel refreshing, intense, and genuinely memorable. Even with some imperfections, it succeeds at delivering one of the best emotionally engaging GL stories.

Engfa-Charlott at Their Best

Personally I think it's Engfa-Charlotts best Series so far (and sadly probably their last one together). The series works especially well because of the emotional chemistry between the two leads, which feels more natural, mature, and believable than in their previous projects. From the very beginning, the relationship development between Nam and Lada is engaging and emotionally satisfying, with the first half of the series handling romance, tension, and character progression surprisingly well. The early episodes in particular create a very strong atmosphere where both the emotional and romantic aspects continuously improve without feeling rushed.

The group dynamics with the cousins and supporting characters also add charm and energy, especially in the later episodes. However, while the romance succeeds overall, the writing itself becomes noticeably weaker during the second half. Several conflicts feel artificially created simply to extend the story. Misunderstandings and forced drama are repeatedly used even when the characters themselves already seem emotionally mature enough to communicate properly.

Another major weakness is the handling of the Lada's family storyline. Some characters feel far too one-dimensional and are mostly used as plot devices for drama instead of being properly developed. Because of that, certain emotional moments later in the story feel less impactful than they probably were intended to be. Additionally, not every conflict receives a fully satisfying conclusion.

The series still succeeds where it matters most: making the audience emotionally care about the main couple. The emotional payoff, romantic progression, and overall chemistry remain consistently enjoyable throughout the show. While the writing has some issues and several side plots could have been handled much better, the series still manages to feel emotionally satisfying overall.

RomCom que cumple con todo lo que nos gusta.

Empezó un poco lenta pero cada episodio fue superando al anterior y se convirtió en una de las más divertidas y bien concluidas comedias románticas de los últimos años. Las referencias a BOF, BP y a clichés que nos encantan me hicieron reír a carcajadas, la química de la pareja protagonista me llenó de dopamina y la historia sobre culpa, insomnio, el efecto prolongado de los somniferos, industria del K Beauty, televentas y relaciones afectivas familiares, de Jeong de pueblito y parche laboral estuvieron perfectamente desarrolladas sin dejar ningún cabo suelto, un final completo y redondo como nos gusta.

Gold Land

Small spoilers.
It was really great drama, there is suspence and action. It was a little brutal, but not too gore. Great amount of episodes. I like the plot and how connected characters were. But there are things which dissapointed me. Not acting, acting was just perfect. Chemistry was really good. But some of decisions made by characters was simply stupid. Like yes, you will get rich if you not die in nezt 5 minutes.
A little about acting:
Park Bo Young - she is great, at this point nobody can questioned it, although it is true that she is a little type casted - I wished that she went a little more crazy/mad by greed or a little more brutal - that would prove her range more
Kim Sung Cheol - I am suprised in how many dramas I saw him and I do not recognize him in any, it can prove that he really great in his job. He was a little more "clever" in his decision than PBY. They had good chemistry and did not need to be a couple.
Villains were amazing, especially Lee Kwang Soo.
Ending waz good, Well, I expected sad endinh with most of them dying - it would match the story and would be more impactful and to be honest more realistic. I believe it is a little an open ending, since SPOILER cambodia guy was looking for her (I think that it was that guy), although I wished thar it ended with a bigger cliffhanger. I do not think that it nerds season 2,
Funny thing melody from intro reminded me of The last of us, which made me feel like this drama in general had similar vibe (minus apocalipse and zombie - it would be so good with zombie - I just like this vibe, do not judge). Also PBY's hairstyle reminded me of Ellie so yeah I could not get rid of feeling Tlou's vibe XD.
Well to sum up, there are things which will not be liked but acting is so good so I hardly believe that it is a must have if you like a genre.

The visuals carried the whole drama

It was a drama with a lot of plot holes and not much consistency in the storytelling. Honestly, though, the actors were really good-looking. There are a lot of important elements in a BL drama, and visuals are definitely one of the things I care about the most.

That said, there were quite a few moments that just didn’t make sense to me while watching. A lot of situations developed way too suddenly. I had pretty high expectations because of the “meeting again after 10 years” storyline, but in the end, it just felt like a decent time-killer. I don’t think I’d watch it again.

Dull with an overly sweet and unrealistic romance

I usually am a sucker for this genre but a few things here werent working for me. Firstly, the cases just werent interesting.

Secondly, i couldnt really stand the leads after awhile. The FL comes off dull and lacking in any type of emotions. Her "im so kind n smart n self righteous" schtick got really boring after awhile. This is my first time watching li landi and i didnt find her very charismatic. Ao ruipeng was no better. His character seemed 2 dimensional, actually both of them were very 2 D and he seemed to exist just to serve the FL. He saves her from all sorts of ridiculously dangerous situations. The romance - ugh more than 50% of the shows focus was on the romance and even that was dull. Perfect, sweet and overly cloying. Neither of them seemed to have any faults and he was practically a simp for her from day 1. There wasnt any tension, they never quarrelled.. just nothing. While the actors has rapport i didnt feel much chemistry and their scenes were quite contrived.

Overall quite a disappointing watch.
