MASTERPIECE!!The most heart wrenching and raw drama I've watched since 2000.

Love, love, love this drama. I've been watching Korean Japanese dramas all my life since 2000 and there are only a few dramas that connects with me, and this Chinese drama goes to the top. When I watched Zhou Yiran in When I fly towards you, I already knew this man has the range of being a versatile actor, even more impressed when he did this drama. I was blown away! The emotions... it was so raw and genuine that right after the last episode, I was bawling my eyes out! All my emotions from the the first episode till the last credits came rushing out of me and I couldn't stop crying! I just want those two people in love to live their normal lives together in happiness and peace! I even watched this the second time with my husband, midway through episode 7 and 8, he also started crying! My husband never cries that easily, especially with all the reading of subtitles and confusion over character names. From someone who doesn't usually watch Asian dramas, unless forced, he said, this drama is so well written, so real and unpretentious. It teaches us to be grateful everyday from the simple things to the grand blessings we receive. This deserves a lot more exposure and recognition, seriously! From the actors to the cinematography. It really brought me back to the 90s when everything was still simple, no internet, no social media, everything was done through effort, perseverance and patience. Beware there are bad and dark elements here, abuse, bullying and violence, but hope and love wins in the end. I can go on and on with high praises for this drama. There's just too much .Go watch it yourselves, you will be transformed.

Lowkey what did I just watch

Lowkey I feel think I have to rewatch one day because they are hitting too many side quests, and the first time I watched it I had no clue what was happening, so the second time I will need to put my full focus on what is happening because there are too many things that happen in the span of 10 mins and I get confused about what we are focused on.

They introduced new characters in every episode, and then they end up not being relevant to the plot because they either go away the next episode or they die. I feel that the guy that stabbed the girl 20 times was really unnecessary to the plot and that they could've gotten rid of that completely. I mean, I get that it had some importance in the last episode, but for an early episode like that, I was clueless about what significance he had for this show.

I liked Chanmi and Sooheon since they carried the show with the amount of aura they had each episode. They got their revenge on the bullies that caused harm to others. The hammer scene was something else, but that guy deserved it 100%.

Jaebom had 10 personalities in 1 minute. He went from being a normal person and friendly to suddenly becoming a demon under a different name??? Then he was like crashing out in 15 seconds and finally returned back to his normal self in the end.

That Gi Ohsung guy gotta be the worst-written character I've ever seen in all the dramas that I've watched. He doesn't deserve that much screentime, and he doesn't have that evilness that most villains do in K-dramas. Most of the later episodes, this dude had no emotion on his face; I couldn't even look at him because he had nothing to show. This guy is just some high schooler, and he thinks that he is some smart guy that knows everything. He's whatever, but at least he smiled sometimes.

Overall, I watched the whole series because it got intense sometimes, and I wanted to see Chanmi and Sooheon on the screen, but there were some lacking parts where I didn't pay attention to what was happening because Gi Ohsung was boring.
Since this drama was really serious most of the time, I was watching with someone, and we had to make fun of what was happening so that we could laugh a little or else it would've been dead quiet and highkey boring.

# Review for Anyone Planning to Watch *Overdo*

If you're planning to watch this drama, you've probably already seen a lot of mixed reviews—some people love it, while others dislike it. Here's my opinion.

The first half of the drama is enjoyable and stays true to its main theme. It builds the conflict well and makes you curious about what will happen next.

Unfortunately, around the halfway point, the drama completely loses its direction. It's almost as if a different writing team took over. Instead of developing the central conflict, it starts jumping from one plot to another. That's when the story begins to feel unfocused, repetitive, and boring. This is also the point where many viewers will probably consider dropping it.

## My Criticism

### 1. Poor Execution (The Biggest Problem)

The biggest issue isn't the story itself—it's the execution.

The core idea and the main theme had a lot of potential, but many scenes fail to deliver the emotional impact they should have. There are several moments where you naturally expect a stronger reaction from the characters, more tension, or a more satisfying payoff, but the scenes end too quickly or move on before they can leave an impression.

Many emotional moments feel rushed instead of being allowed to breathe. Because of that, scenes that should have been memorable become forgettable.

### 2. The Drama Loses Its Core Plot

The story starts with a clear central conflict, but halfway through it seems to forget what it was really about.

One major reason is that the main villain is dealt with too early. After that, instead of deepening the original conflict, the writers keep introducing new storylines one after another.

A story doesn't become better by adding more events. It becomes better when every event pushes the same central conflict forward. *Overdo* does the opposite—it keeps changing its focus until the story feels scattered.

### 3. Weak Plot Progression

Even when individual scenes are interesting, the sequence of events often isn't.

Many plotlines feel disconnected from each other, and the transitions aren't smooth. Rather than building naturally toward bigger moments, the story keeps jumping to new ideas before properly developing the previous ones.

As a result, the pacing becomes uneven.

### 4. Unconvincing Character Reactions

Several scenes don't feel emotionally believable.

Characters sometimes react much less than a real person would in the same situation. In other moments, conflicts continue simply because nobody communicates honestly.

Some misunderstandings and problems could have been solved with one simple conversation, but instead they're stretched out to create unnecessary drama.

### 5. Unsatisfying Motivations

Some actions and plot twists don't have strong enough reasons behind them.

Characters occasionally make decisions because the plot needs them to, not because those choices feel natural for their personalities. That makes certain moments less satisfying.

## What I Did Like

I can't really judge the cinematography, editing, lighting, or camera work because I'm not knowledgeable enough in those areas.

However, I genuinely liked the OST, especially the main revenge theme. The production value, costumes, fashion, and casting are also impressive and make the drama visually enjoyable.

## Final Thoughts

Overall, *Overdo* had the potential to be a much stronger drama.

It had an interesting premise, a capable cast, and high production value, but the weak execution prevented it from reaching that potential. The biggest disappointment isn't that the story had flaws—it's that many good ideas weren't executed as well as they could have been.
And at the end its a sad ending.
So overall at the end you will get a lot of trauma without getting good story.

Et si l'au-delà était le début de l'aventure...

Avec "Along with the Gods : The Two Worlds", on suit Kim Ja Hong, un pompier qui perd la vie en héros... mais son histoire est loin d'être terminée 😭. Trois gardiens de l'au-delà viennent le chercher pour l'accompagner à travers sept procès qui décideront s'il mérite... ou non... de se réincarner. Franchement, je ne m'attendais pas du tout à partir dans ce genre d'aventure 🤣

Je vais pas vous mentir... dès les premières minutes, j'ai été complètement happée par cet univers 😍. J'adore tout ce qui touche à la fantasy et au fantastique, alors forcément, un au-delà inspiré de la mythologie coréenne avec ses enfers, ses juges et toutes ces créatures... PWALALA, j'étais déjà conquise 🤩. À chaque nouveau procès, je me demandais dans quel décor on allait encore atterrir et quelles épreuves attendaient Ja Hong.

Et visuellement... franchement, c'est propre 👌🏻. Chaque monde possède sa propre identité et je ne me suis jamais lassée de les découvrir. Pour un film sorti en 2017, je trouve qu'il vieillit vraiment très bien. Je ne me suis jamais dit une seule fois : "Oula... là, les effets spéciaux ont pris un coup de vieux." 😅

J'ai aussi beaucoup aimé le trio de gardiens 🫶🏻. Chacun apporte quelque chose de différent et ils finissent par former une équipe vraiment attachante. Entre les moments plus sérieux et les petites touches d'humour, ils rendent ce voyage beaucoup plus vivant.

Ce qui m'a le plus surprise, c'est que je pensais regarder un gros film fantastique rempli d'action... alors qu'au final, c'est surtout une histoire profondément humaine ❤️. Derrière tous ces effets spéciaux, le film parle de culpabilité, de famille, de regrets, de pardon... et je comprends complètement pourquoi autant de spectateurs ont été touchés. Personnellement, je ne m'attendais pas à ce que l'émotion prenne autant de place.

Par contre, j'ai quand même trouvé que le film voulait raconter énormément de choses en seulement un peu plus de deux heures 😅. Entre les procès, les révélations et les différentes intrigues, tout s'enchaîne très vite... J'aurais parfois aimé que certaines scènes prennent un peu plus leur temps pour me laisser souffler. Quant à la fin, je l'ai trouvée un peu rapide... même si, je sais qu'il y a le deuxième volet.

Au final, j'ai vraiment passé un très bon moment devant "Along with the Gods : The Two Worlds" ❤️. J'ai adoré découvrir cet univers, suivre tous ces procès et me laisser surprendre par cette histoire qui cache finalement beaucoup plus d'émotion que je ne l'imaginais. Tout n'est pas parfait, mais une chose est sûre... le film m'a donné envie de lancer le deuxième volet. Et franchement, il n'y a pas de meilleures preuves qu'un film a réussi sa mission 🤣✌🏻

Incrível! Surpreendente! Impactante! Adjetivos são poucos para descrever a magnitude dessa história. O coreano "The Prosecutor's Proposal" trouxe o clima tenso, emocional e envolvente dos melhores dramas de mistério e romance, daqueles que prendem a atenção do início ao fim e fazem cada episódio terminar com um novo motivo para apertar o play no próximo.
E ouso dizer que a série não ficou atrás de grandes produções do gênero. Do roteiro às atuações, passando pela direção, fotografia e trilha sonora, tudo parece trabalhar em perfeita sintonia para entregar uma experiência imersiva, intensa e, acima de tudo, inesquecível.

O que mais me surpreendeu em "The Prosecutor's Proposal" foi a forma como a série conseguiu equilibrar diferentes gêneros sem perder sua identidade. O romance existe, mas nunca ofusca o suspense. Na verdade, o relacionamento entre dois homens profundamente marcados por seus traumas é apenas uma peça dentro de um quebra-cabeça muito maior. O mistério conduz a narrativa, enquanto os conflitos pessoais dos personagens dão um peso emocional que torna cada revelação ainda mais significativa. É aquele tipo de série que conquista tanto quem procura um bom BL quanto quem simplesmente gosta de um excelente drama investigativo.

Se a história já impressiona por sua construção, o elenco faz com que ela alcance um nível ainda maior. Cada personagem carrega suas dores, conflitos e segredos de forma extremamente convincente, tornando impossível não se envolver emocionalmente com a jornada de cada um deles. Em nenhum momento senti que alguém estava exagerando ou apenas cumprindo um papel. Pelo contrário, as atuações passam uma naturalidade impressionante, fazendo com que cada olhar, silêncio e mudança de comportamento tenham tanto peso quanto os próprios diálogos.

O grande destaque, sem dúvidas, fica para a dupla protagonista. A química entre Ju Tae Seon e Lee Chae Ha vai muito além do romance. Os dois conseguem transmitir confiança, medo, culpa, desejo, carinho, fetiche e vulnerabilidade de uma forma extremamente sutil, sem precisar recorrer a grandes demonstrações. A relação deles cresce aos poucos, respeitando o ritmo da história e as cicatrizes que cada um carrega. Foi justamente essa construção gradual que fez com que eu me conectasse tanto com os personagens e acreditasse em cada passo da relação entre eles. No fim, tornou-se impossível não amá-los com todos os seus defeitos e qualidades. Os beijos viscerais e apaixonados que eles compartilham ao longo da história apenas reforçam uma química e tensão sexual que já transbordava em cada cena.

Entre os dois, Ju Tae Seon acabou sendo quem mais me marcou por sua evolução pessoal. Acostumado a esconder seus sentimentos atrás da postura firme, fria, grosseira e racional de promotor, vê-lo baixar a guarda nos momentos mais delicados tornou o personagem ainda mais humano. Sua vulnerabilidade nunca parece forçada, assim como seu inabalável senso de justiça. Pelo contrário, ambas surgem nos momentos certos e fazem com que decisões, hesitações, escolhas, toques e olhares carreguem um peso emocional enorme.

Se Ju Tae Seon representa a força e a racionalidade, Lee Chae Ha é o coração da história. Sua sensibilidade, empatia e capacidade de enxergar humanidade até nos momentos mais difíceis fazem dele o equilíbrio perfeito para uma relação construída sobre traumas, culpa e esperança. É justamente esse contraste entre os dois que torna o relacionamento tão verdadeiro, emocionante e inesquecível.

E não foram apenas os protagonistas que roubaram a cena. Todo o elenco coadjuvante deu um verdadeiro show de atuação e entrega, contribuindo para que a série mantivesse um nível de excelência do início ao fim. Oh Ja Hyeon, o diretor Tak e Song foram simplesmente magistrais em seus respectivos papéis, entregando personagens complexos, cheios de nuances e extremamente humanos.

Cada um deles teve momentos únicos e que brilharam ao longo da narrativa e, mesmo quando dividiam a cena com os protagonistas, nunca pareciam ofuscados. Pelo contrário, suas interpretações acrescentavam ainda mais tensão, emoção, reviravoltas e credibilidade à história. Isso fez com que o universo da série parecesse vivo, onde cada personagem importava e cada presença em cena tinha um propósito dentro do complexo quebra-cabeça apresentado pela enredo.

Outro aspecto que me conquistou foi a parte técnica da produção. A fotografia, a iluminação, a direção e a composição visual trabalham em perfeita sintonia para construir uma atmosfera densa, melancólica e constantemente carregada de tensão. Nada parece estar em cena apenas por estética. Cada enquadramento, contraste de luz, corredor vazio ou ambiente silencioso foi cuidadosamente pensado para transmitir emoções que muitas vezes os próprios personagens não conseguiam colocar em palavras.

A iluminação merece um destaque especial. Em diversos momentos, ela acompanha o estado emocional dos personagens, alternando entre ambientes frios, escuros e opressivos durante os conflitos, e cenas mais claras e acolhedoras quando pequenas brechas de esperança começam a surgir. É um recurso sutil, mas extremamente eficiente, que faz com que a narrativa também seja contada através das imagens.

Outro detalhe que me chamou muita atenção foi o uso das analogias visuais espalhadas ao longo da série. A abertura, os objetos de cena, os reflexos e até a forma como os personagens eram posicionados e dirigidos durante os momentos de conflito, diálogo e intimidade pareciam carregar significados próprios. Muitas emoções e até pequenas pistas da investigação estavam escondidas na fotografia, nos enquadramentos e na iluminação, fazendo com que cada episódio merecesse um olhar ainda mais atento. É aquele tipo de produção que recompensa quem observa os detalhes, porque a história também é construída pelo que a câmera escolhe mostrar, esconder e sugerir. No fim, tive a sensação de que cada escolha visual existia para contar uma parte da história que as palavras, sozinhas, não seriam capazes de revelar.

Finalizando, minha nota não poderia ser outra: 10. "The Prosecutor's Proposal" foge dos estereótipos mais comuns dos BLs e entrega uma narrativa empolgante, sufocante, emocionante e surpreendentemente madura É uma obra que sabe exatamente o momento de revelar seus mistérios, intensificar a tensão e emocionar, mantendo a gente completamente envolvido do primeiro ao último episódio.

Mais do que contar uma história de amor, a série constrói um drama investigativo intenso, onde romance, mistério, justiça e traumas caminham lado a lado sem que um elemento sobreponha o outro. O resultado é uma narrativa envolvente, que prende pela qualidade de sua construção e emociona pela humanidade de seus personagens.

Essa série entrou facilmente para a minha lista de melhores BLs do ano e também para a das produções que mais me marcaram dentro do gênero. É uma obra que confia na sensibilidade de quem a assiste, recompensa quem presta atenção aos pequenos detalhes e demonstra que um BL pode ultrapassar as barreiras do romance para entregar uma experiência verdadeiramente memorável.

A Coreia, mais uma vez, não me decepcionou. Pelo contrário, mostrou que continua evoluindo na forma de abordar diferentes temáticas e de contar histórias cada vez mais maduras, complexas e emocionantes, presenteando a gente com personagens que permanecem na memória muito depois do episódio final.

Rose by any other name

I really enjoyed *Summer Rose*. What stood out the most for me were the characters and the way they brought the story to life. The leads had good chemistry, and their interactions made me want to keep watching to see how their relationship would develop.

I especially liked that the characters had enough personality to make you care about what happened to them. There were sweet and emotional moments throughout the drama that made the romance enjoyable without feeling completely empty.

Like many Chinese short dramas, there were a few moments where you just have to accept the drama logic and keep watching 😂, but overall, this was a very enjoyable watch.

Sweet, entertaining, and definitely worth watching if you enjoy character-driven romance. 🌹❤️

Agent Kim Reactivated turned out to be so much more than just an action drama. ❤️ It follows the journey of an ex-agent trying to rebuild his relationship with his daughter while being pulled back into a dangerous world of missions. The father-daughter bond is genuinely heartwarming, and the friendship between the ahjussis is one of the best parts of the show—their loyalty, humor, and brotherhood make every episode even more special. 🫶

My absolute favorite character has to be Park Jin Cheol. He stole every scene he was in and quickly became one of the most lovable characters in the drama. 🥹❤️

WonderFOOLS is honestly one of the most enjoyable dramas I've watched this year. It perfectly balances comedy and suspense without ever losing sight of the main story. Every episode was engaging, packed with funny moments that had me laughing while still keeping me invested in the mystery. The cast delivered fantastic performances, and the chemistry between the characters made everything even more entertaining. The tension is very good but the movie filming part is skippable

The chemistry between the two actors are extremely amazing. Ollie is super hot in the series as well. Given that they are newbies in acting, I think their acting are great. Their real life story line is really good to watch. However, one down side, I think the movie story line is really cliche and awkward. It’s super long (like half of the series) and boring, like watching two separate stories in a series, constantly changing between their movie and real life. I skipped lots of the movie part as I can’t handle it anymore.

Their chemistry outside the series is really good as well. Their lives every week is a must watch. Hope they’ll collab again, this couple is so cute together.

It's Not About Swapping Husbands

A vertical historical short-drama plot... in a horizontal mini-drama? Hm. (IYKYK.)

I've watched enough vertical reels with this exact premise to know this was going to be spicy. Actually... scorching hot.

This drama is packed with scheming, kisses, skinship, romantic tension, and characters constantly trying to outmaneuver one another. Since it's a short drama, I barely had time to get annoyed by the familiar tropes, because I was too busy cheering for the main couple.

The story follows the two daughters of the Jiang family, who are both reborn. Given a second chance at life, they swap marriages in an attempt to change their destinies. That's the basic premise.

On the surface, it sounds like another cliché rebirth story. Underneath, though, it's really about second chances and the consequences of the choices we make.

I've seen reviews criticizing the writing, but the storytelling was actually what won me over. Instead of relying on lengthy flashbacks, the drama cleverly reveals the female lead's previous life through the perspective of her sister's second life. It lets us discover the past alongside the characters rather than simply being told what happened.

That storytelling choice also strengthens the contrast between the sisters. The sister believes the female lead's happiness in her previous life came solely from marrying the "right" man, so she spends her second life trying to recreate that outcome while making the female lead miserable. The female lead, meanwhile, learns something entirely different from her past. Her previous mistakes reshape the way she thinks, allowing her to make smarter decisions and stay several steps ahead of everyone else's schemes.

That contrast is what made the rebirth aspect meaningful. One sister tries to relive the past. The other learns from it.

Even the supporting characters benefited from the storytelling. Some characters aren't particularly memorable—like the male lead's child—but they all serve a purpose within the narrative. Maybe reading Philip K. Dick has made me appreciate characters who exist simply because they serve the story.

The romance was easily the highlight of my viewing experience. The chemistry between the leads isn't carried by grand declarations but by the way they look at each other. As the story progresses, I kept noticing how the male lead's gaze lingered just a little longer than it should. It quietly conveyed that he found her fascinating, and someone he simply couldn't ignore.

I also loved the cinematography whenever the romance took center stage. The slow-motion shots, the lingering close-ups, and the way the camera framed their faces as they inched closer together made even the simplest romantic moments feel more intimate. I couldn't help but smile.

My only real complaint was the female lead's makeup. Her foundation was so pale that the color difference around her hairline kept catching my attention. It was distracting. Someone owes her makeup artist a gentle performance review. 😆

The plot twist ended up being the cherry on top. I know quite a few viewers disliked both the twist itself and the way it was presented, but I genuinely enjoyed it. Maybe I've watched so many vertical dramas that I've developed a higher tolerance for these kinds of stories. Ironically, that made the twist feel refreshing instead of frustrating.

Overall, this is a fun, fluffy romance filled with scheming, tension, and plenty of sweet moments. But beneath all the marriage-swapping drama, Threads of Destiny isn't really about choosing a different husband.

It's about realizing that changing your future begins with changing yourself, not by trying to relive someone else's life.

The Rebound Drama That Outsmarted Me

Little disclaimer: I actually watched A Lucid Dream right after The Butterflied Lover. I just never got around to posting the review until now. 😆

This one surprised me in ways I never imagined.

I was only looking for something simple and easy to watch. Since it's a mini-drama with only 18 episodes, I thought, "Okay... let's give it a try."

What made me stay? The premise.

The female lead believes she's a princess from ancient times, and my brain immediately went: "Wait... is this a transmigration story?"

From there, the questions just kept piling up. But my heart was on guard. I had just gotten my little heart broken by The Butterflied Lover, so I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary. I appreciated how the episodes stayed short and focused. There were quite a few flashbacks used to explain parts of the story, but surprisingly, they never felt distracting because my attention quickly shifted to the chemistry between the two leads.

And honestly? They completely stole the show. Their chemistry was so good that I found myself torn between swooning over them and trying to figure out how they were connected. The mysteries introduced early on were closely tied to their relationship, so every episode felt like a tug-of-war between romance and curiosity. That little mental gymnastics routine kept me glued to the screen. (♡ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈)

I also loved the comedy, or maybe more accurately, the sheer absurdity of the premise. It fully embraced how bizarre the situation was, and I had so much fun with it. Besides, it's a mini-drama. I wasn't about to waste my energy hating it. 😂

Then came the twist.

That was the moment this drama completely gut-punched me. Maybe it landed so well because I went in with almost no expectations after The Butterflied Lover. Whatever the reason, everything I thought I knew about the story was suddenly flipped upside down. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

The best way I can describe it is this: It felt like someone handed me a banana at the beginning of the drama... only for me to realize near the end that I'd been holding a cucumber the entire time.

Was I gaslighted? A little.

Did I enjoy it? Absolutely.

Overall, A Lucid Dream turned out to be the perfect drama to watch after getting your heart broken by a disappointing series. It's lighthearted, fluffy, unexpectedly funny, and delivers a plot twist that caught me completely off guard.

I'm not the biggest fan of vertical series because the format just isn't good. The run time will be the length of a movie, but it's choppy and repetitive & more often than not has no budget, a weak story, and not the best acting.

Even though the story for this series wasn't the strongest and it was repetitive, it at least had more budget than I've seen in other vertical series, and the acting was decent all around. Yin in particular did a great job bringing out each twin's personality in the limited time he was given. He & War also have such great chemistry & their kisses are always good, so the relationship felt real enough despite it kind of being an insta-crush.

Watching this, I completely forgot that it was an advertisement for Supalai Sense Condominiums, and honestly it did a great job. If I were moving to Thailand (I wish), I would consider them.

Not really much else to say. As vertical series go, this is one of the better ones.
