It was so much fun to see Boss take on a completely different type of character. It really showed a new side of him that I hadn't seen before.

I wasn't completely sure about the series at first, but with each episode it grew on me. Before I knew it, I was completely hooked. 🤍✨

What can I say? I really enjoyed this series because it felt a little different from the usual. That made it stand out even more.

I'm also a big fan of Tutor and Yin, so seeing them together again was definitely a bonus. I really hope we'll get to see more projects with them in the future. 🤍✨

Unfortunately, I never really connected with this season. The story just didn't grab my attention, and I found it difficult to get invested in the characters.

It wasn't a bad series, but it simply wasn't for me. 🤍

Deeply interesting in the execution

Deep In surprised my when I started it. The first 2 episodes are not great. They move either too fast or too slow and set the characters up as kind of unlikable, especially Zhen Xin. It seems straight forward and predictable, catered to watchers who would be in it for more of the sexual tension than an actual plot, and the way they treat the first on screen woman sucks.

But then the in-drama movie starts. Deep In is presented in two parts - the 'reality' in the show and the movie that the characters are filming. The aspect ratio and coloring change every time you are watching a scene from the movie so you know that it's not 'real' but still allows you to feel immersed in the story, the same way the actors would. The effect is brilliant, pulling you in to both stories and showing both where they differ and where they blur. It gives the audience a really deep understanding of the characters and how they may be feeling and struggling as the series progresses.

The acting is quite good as there aren't a lot of characters and they technically need to be playing multiple roles. I will say it's kind of funny but the acting in the 'movie' was always better to be than in the 'reality' and I'm not sure if that was a stylistic choice or just because of the writing. Regardless, you don't feel burdened by any one actor in their role which helps the flow of the show.

The show looks good, too. Most of the directing is straight forward and the editing ensures it flows well with no glaring issues. The primary story line is cliche and for some parts, repetitive, but it's not boring. If you're looking for an interesting take on a gay story Deep In is worth it to at least try.

Also the music absolutely rips, I have added at least one song an episode to my playlist and some of them are like...expensive songs, I don't know where the budget came from but I am thankful.

When a series manages to hook you from the very beginning—and even has an opening theme that's incredibly well made—you just don't want to skip a single second.

This is definitely one of my favorite BLs I've watched this year. The story kept me invested from start to finish, and everything just worked so well together. 🤍✨

Good with spots of mid

Payback has an interesting premise that is well carried by the principle character/actor of Sun but is honestly hindered by the romance in it.

I know it's technically integral to the plot of the show but the romance absolutely drags. Jay's actor is bad. His acting reads like caricature and he lacks the nuances to his facial expressions the character needs to pull off someone who is mysterious and powerful. His flat performance kills any chemistry between Jay and Sun which in turn makes the romance seem like a waste of screen time. Also a lot of the scene's that are supposed to be the build up of the romance / physical do play out or at least are directed kind of sexual assault-ish so please be warned if that is a triggering topic for you.

Aside from that, the show has a tonal issue. There is not enough balance to where they make things light and silly and where they make things heavy because the main plot of the story is extremely heavy. Having funny moments isn't bad but having so many every episode kills the message that you treat the topics with the wight they deserve.

On a positive note, the acting for most of the other characters is really good. Khajorn and Sky have great personal chemistry with Sun and pull their weight in all of their scenes, Bank/Sunny is played by an actor I know is phenomenal and he does not let down in this role either. I honest to gods do not like any other show Boss is in but his role as Pakin is played so naturally I might give more of his work a try.

Sun is the center of the show and the actor does great justice. You can see a subtle evaluation of his character grow in how he treats others and how he treats and expresses himself. He makes you really feel the grief and desperation of Sun and you want to root for him, even when you know he has done wrong in the past. Min, the actor, has very expressive eyes which they comment on in the show and I think is what made casting him the right choice.

The plot is also interesting. Both a revenge story and a tale of how to heal when you don't believe you have the right to. A minor commentary on the entertainment industry with not particularly subtle messages but good messages none-the-less about what it means to want to live. Combined with it being well shot, I really enjoy the show despite the flaws and am excited to see how it ends. With Sammon as a writer I have high expectations.

Yeon Sang-ho's Colony proves that he still knows how to reinvent the zombie genre. While it shares the claustrophobic tension and relentless pacing that made Train to Busan so memorable, Colony carves out its own identity with an unsettling new take on infected creatures that evolve, communicate, and hunt with terrifying intelligence. The action is intense, the creature design is genuinely creepy, and the film rarely lets the audience catch its breath.

What surprised me most, however, wasn't the horror. In a genre that often sidelines female characters, Colony gives them the emotional core of the story. Jun Ji-hyun delivers a commanding performance as Se-jeong, portraying a heroine who is intelligent, resourceful, and resilient without ever feeling invincible. She's joined by equally memorable female characters who each contribute to the group's survival in meaningful ways. Rather than existing as damsels in distress or supporting figures, the women are problem-solvers, protectors, and emotional anchors whose decisions genuinely shape the narrative.

The film isn't perfect. Some supporting characters could have benefited from more development, and the emphasis on relentless action occasionally comes at the expense of deeper emotional moments. Still, the suspense is consistently gripping, the set pieces are inventive, and Yeon Sang-ho once again demonstrates why he's one of the most exciting filmmakers working in the zombie genre today.

If you're looking for a zombie thriller with creative ideas, pulse-pounding action, and female protagonists who stand out through their intelligence, courage, and determination, Colony is an easy recommendation. It doesn't try to be another Train to Busan, it evolves into something uniquely its own.

Seo in Guk's weakest!!!!

I watched it cause I watch EVERYTHING Seo In Guk but this was a total disappointment and that was totally due to the female lead..... She should not be cast as a lead, she's just not good enough nor pretty enough. Very unappealing person with nothing to offer. A shame. Waste of his talents. The story was not dramatic enough to override her weakness.

Not even TikTok edits can prepare you

I started watching this show because of TikTok edits of a Jeong Ba-Reum, like I knew who the psychopath was from the start without any context other than clips of him smiling to himself and this show still managed to throw me through a complete loop.

At the beginning I was like oohhhh he’s so bad when is the penny going to drop? I was so confused and they actually managed to convince me after a while that it was Yohan but THEN things kept happening and I was confused and thought well maybe they’ve both been killing other people? Then the brain transplant happened and I was like oh okay so Ba-Reum was never actually bad to begin with it’s because of Yohan’s brain.

My confusing and spiralling continued so far throughout the series and wow 😂😭😭 I have to give them credit they absolutely smashed this series

Revive A Sweet Life

⏤ ▪︎ The Vibe :: A mission-impossible quest to save your family even if they are working for the bad guys.

。 ⤵︎ Watched For :: A tense mystery full of deceit, betrayal, and survival.
。 ⤵︎ Stayed For :: Trying to figure out what on earth was going to happen next. Who lives, who dies and who gets rebooted?

⏤ ▪︎ The Premise... in One Dramatic Sentence ::
A pastry chef gets plastic surgery to disguise himself as a detective in order to find out who is framing him for the murder of his wife.

⏤ ▪︎ Character Weather Report ::
Gido and Ichika did amazing in their roles. I was so surprised seeing them play two/three characters at the same time. It felt like I was sitting very comfortably inside a tornado of self-preservation, sacrifice and tenacity.

⏤ ▪︎ Chemistry Check ::
😵‍💫 A fusion dish where you don't really know what to expect when you take a bite.
There were some interesting moments between the main protagonists, but nothing is truly romantic/dramatic until the end. This was so understandable given the nature of the plot and the genre.

⏤ ▪︎ Plot Behavior ::
I want to be clear that I am not good at predicting plot twists at all. It's a big reason why I enjoy mysteries/thrillers. I think I predicted one or two of the plot twists, so this drama kept me guessing the entire time. The pace was definitely fast and tense, but I could still tell the entire time that they were trying their best to stretch the story into more episodes.

⏤ ▪︎ What Worked ::
I think what worked the best was the Dark Banker as the main antagonist controlling them all with his ridiculous deadlines.

⏤ ▪︎ What Needed More Time ::
I think making the general motivation for the Dark Banker turn political felt unfinished and unnecessary. It would have been enough that he just wanted to maintain his dark bank and keep his clients happy. I'm not sure I understand the motivation behind having them undergo plastic surgery. That seems so expensive and time-consuming. I did not like that Fuyuhashi got away with his crimes because he rebooted.

⏤ ▪︎ Emotional Damage Report ::
I definitely shed a few tears. It wasn't a complete waterfall, more of a faucet trickle. I knew the impact that would result for the rest of the story. The Doppelgänger theory, yet again, is so real.

⏤ ▪︎ Final Verdict ::
I really enjoyed this drama, cause I went into it completely blind. I didn't read synopsis or watch the trailer. I didn't even look too closely at the cast. I just looked at the genre and themes. Since I was open to the mystery I was shocked at the direction this drama took. I liked the turn after turn of underbelly investigations on a deadline and plastic surgery plot twists.
The overall message: do anything for your family!

Rating: ★★★★☆
✫ Tension: 4 / 5
✫ Plot Twists: 4 / 5
✫ Reboots: 3.5 / 5
𓂃✍︎ Would I Rewatch? Yes, if I ever forget the plot twists.
𓂃✍︎ Emotional Status: Satisfied, and looking my next tense, investigation mystery.

This was adorableee.

I normally don't watch GL but I am overall a big watcher and for 2026 I wanted to at least watch more of it. In general I feel like it is often too slow for my liking and it feels like it's always the same theme. But that said, I reallllyyyy enjoyed The Earth and I'm gonna watch each of the elements. I liked it mainly because it was fast and had quite an original plot.

At first I was a bit hesitant watching it because it was yet another gl with an arranged marriage and it feels like companies can't get tired of using this. It really annoys me because it's been only time that I watched something where they didn't get arranged. But after the 3th episode it was really the opposite. I love how Din and Rose got married to make sure Rose and Wasu didn't have to. My main reason for keeping up with this is because of the theme around the country side. I LOVE country side series. No matter the country. I used to live on the country side and it's just the community that makes it worth it. and that's also why I loved this series. I just really love the countryside theme a lot and it makes me genuinely so happy they made use of it. I guess it's called earth because of the farm/country side?

At first I found it a bit boring because it was going extremely slow. Don't get me wrong, I love slow burn but they clearly liked each other from the first episode already. Like I mentioned before, I was convinced there was an actual arranged marriage but I love Lom's idea. Then about the human trafficking, I thought this was about Laos first but then I realised it was actually just about Vasupol. This whole plot was just confusing at first but that makes sense since Din and Rose also didn't know much about it. I also feel like Teepakorn is a really great guy for trying to solve the problems, just sad he ended up like that in the hospital... I thought he actually died but I was wrong.

At first I thought Wasu might be a nice guy but after a few episodes I realised he is just a spoiled kid. I thought Wasu might've been against the arranged marriage aswell but at the point where Din and Wasu held guns to each other, I was like "wait a damn minute, Wasu is actually a very big red flag and clearly brainwashed by his father. I have to admit that I do feel bad for how Wasu was treated back in the days. Wasu just wanted to do fun things with the girls but Din always corrected his behaviour. I'm not saying Din was wrong for it, but it does add up.

Anyways when Wasu talked about a secret spy idk why but I lowkey suspected Motdaeng at first. I probably wasn't the only one who thought this. But then when it turned out Kaew was it, I was like WHAT. I did not see that coming at all. Honestly the last 3 episodes were really rushed and the fire wasn't necessary and then suddenly Din being shot etc, makes no sense. It feels like a lot of it was to solve the argument and it feels kinda unnecessary. Although I do think the secret spy plot was quite fun.

I love the masc vibe Din gives off. Idk it's just super tuff. Din's crush was sooo obvious even the mom noticed like straight away and I love how her whole family ships them and even spoil it to Rose. They both seemed to take that fake honeymoon quite serious though bahhaha. So cute. I also love them using the excuse 'we need to pretend we're really wives' to do certain things and I love how Rose also used it when she was jealous.

I can't believe this is the first drama of Mim Panthita ever. She is such a good actor and I can't wait to see more of her and Apple. Someone said she gives of Kdrama ish vibes and I 100% agree. As for Apple, I'm lowkey surprised how many shows she has been in that I have seen. She mostly played guest role is those though. Cooking crush, Rearrange, I'm tee me too and she's in U prince?? Ugh she is so talented but I never looked into her.

The ending was adorable and I really recommend this gl!! Even if it was rushed towards the ending the romance was extremely cute and this is just one and only green flags (Din and Rose not some of the supporting cast of course).

Thought it was good but I was misTaken

A strong 5...

OMG, I really thought this show was going to say something meaningful about bullying, single parenthood, guilt, parenting, etc. Wow, was I misTAKEN. Lmao, I mean, the pun was right there.

I started this at a 6.5, but somewhere after the halfway mark it completely lost direction and slid down to a 6 then a 5. I'm of the camp that this should have ended at episode 7. Everything after that feels like the production trying to outdo itself instead of knowing when to land the plane.

The premise was never original. It is basically the retired black-ops dad formula, Taken with a Seoul postcode. Honestly, I would have been fine with that if the adaptation had brought something new to it, but it really doesn't. Instead, it pads everything. Flashbacks that could have been two-minute scenes are stretched into entire chunks of runtime, and the North Korean orphan storyline feels like the same copy-and-paste plot we've already seen a dozen times. I just wanted one fresh idea. Apparently, that was too much to ask.

Ju Gang-chan is the biggest waste for me. He starts off strong and then somehow becomes more pathetic with every episode. I'm supposed to believe this feared gangster-turned-businessman sold out his entire country because his daughter assaulted a classmate? Then, when his downfall finally comes, we barely see it as enough. All that setup for what?

Then there is our lead, wearing the exact same expression in every single scene. Grief, rage, tenderness, mid-fight, it is all the same face. I cannot roll my eyes far enough.

I came for the action, and some of it is genuinely sloppy, but at least it is frequent. Honestly, though, this show is far more interested in being a comedy about three middle-aged men than the thriller it sold itself as. My respect for the trio and their chemistry is doing most of the work keeping this at a 5.

And yes, season 2 is apparently being discussed.

Yaaay. :(
