A beautifully crafted drama
“Generation to Generation” is an incredibly crafted story that showcases generational pain/blood feuds, the beauty of friendship, the beauty and yet pain of love, and the power of prejudice/hate being overcome by forgiveness and love.Is it perfect? No. It has its flaws for sure. Don’t even get me started on how many times they demonstrate someone is injured by blood spewing from the mouth. Good grief. And the slow burn was killer sometimes, especially when the kiss scenes we got were nothing to write home about despite our leads’ incredible chemistry. But, overall, its flaws are far outshone. So what makes this worth watching?
* One of the most beautifully complex, nuanced plots I’ve seen from a drama. (No shock from the original novel writer of “Love like the Galaxy”.) We watch this story unfold in the generation of our two excellent leads, but the whole story is weaved with stories of the past. This never once gets boring. You’re completely sucked in. They chose a SOLID cast for the flashbacks. This drama’s emotional tapestry of healing had me crying literal tears more than once.
* A romance that is addictive. Friends to enemies to lovers? Sign me up. A morally gray, red flag, burn-the-world-for-his-lady ML? Sign me up. A FL who actually can defend herself and him? Chemistry that will have you rewatching scenes? A slow-burn that actually feels worth the angst? A couple who risks everything for their forbidden love? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Honestly, Mu Qingyan is one of the most swoon worthy MLs I’ve seen in a while too so there’s that.
* A SOLID ENSEMBLE CAST. ‘Nuff said.
One of the things I found most interesting was the way that this drama emphasized how people write narratives that can live on for generations, causing harm and lies. I loved how Cai Zhao unfolded the secrets of the three women who had gone before her but had been demonized by history. Not only did she discover the truth but she ends up paralleling all three as well as her heroic aunt.
Ignore the low MDL rating and go on the journey for yourself. For me, it was more than worth it.

It takes skill to make a cliched concept so enjoyable!
IU did a phenomenal job playing the sassy FL. Byeon woo seok shined in playing the composed, occasionally silly ML. Their chemistry turned a cliched concept into such an enjoyable watch that I can easily see myself returning too it often.Beautiful acting from all the supporting cast. From the opening credits, picturization to the closing credits - the team did a great job in making this drama.
Despite the controversy on the potrayal of modern korean monarchy, I chalk the choices up to creative license - this is a fictional piece, after all; and, as with any story, it is up to the author what they choose to tell. The actors did a great job portraying the script.
This series put IU on my list of star actors. And byeon woo seok did such an amazing job playing his role too! I'll be looking out for more dramas from these actors & the production team.

Romance with a slice of life
I enjoyed the romance, the chemistry, and the performances. The drama had a decent amount of steamy scenesI particularly appreciated the ML’s narrative growth—his personal development, and the way his school years and present-day life were woven together.
The FL didn’t fully work for me. As her best friend herself points out, she often came across as micromanaging, bossy, and at times unreasonable, lingering far too long in the “adult” role within their relationship. That said, I did admire her honesty, strong sense of justice, and her protectiveness toward the male lead.
Beyond the romance, the plot had a strong slice of life vibes. Overall, Sniper Butterfly is very watchable for incurable romantics and 100% worth the watch, but not on my rewatch list due to the plot line.

Outstanding OST, cute story line but too much slop at times.
A charming and heartfelt romance with excellent chemistry between the leads and one of the best OSTs in recent K-dramas. The nostalgic tone and emotional moments are genuinely touching, making it easy to root for the characters. However, the story occasionally drags due to repetitive misunderstandings and slow pacing. Despite its flaws, it's a warm and enjoyable watch.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?
Great start, captivating characters.
Episode 1: I was biased against liking the series, but so far, after the first episode, I'm very satisfied. I liked the dynamic between the protagonists, especially Piang; I loved her personality. The secondary characters are interesting. The production is good (except for the audio glitches that occur a few times), but I found the series' opening quite generic and lacking in any unique elements. I really liked the theme of "dreaming about the future." I really did. It seems like the series will be fun with a touch of drama. Let's see what the next episodes bring!Bad part: I couldn't believe Song's crying at the beginning of the episode. One moment Song is crying for someone, and the next she's not. Did she forget she was crying? Hahahaha. At several points the audio is very low, disrupting the experience and disconnecting the viewer.

Genuinely one of the best endings I've seen till date
Hidden love was one of my top picks, which is why I decided to start this.Won't say it doesn't have its shortcomings; around ep. 16 I did stop watching it, thinking it would be yet another misunderstanding trope. But THANK GOD I gave it another chance.
REALLY hats off to the author; she wrote a masterpiece with One and Hidden Love too. Also, BOTH the actors, the ML and the FL, really did a great job ESPECIALLY the FL; she really portrayed her role well
In the end, I just want to say If you are debating watching it
You SHOULD absolutely give it one chance

The Acting
I was not prepared for how immersed I became in this drama. Pursuit of Jade follows Fan Changyu, a butcher’s daughter, and Xie Zheng, a fallen marquis living under a fake name, who end up in a marriage of convenience — both with their own secrets and agendas. Sounds familiar, right? But this one hits different. The leads were incredible. Zhang Linghe fully immersed himself in the role and it showed. There was this one scene where he showed so much tenderness and care that it took my breath away. I had to pause and just sit with it for a second. Their relationship evolved gradually and it felt so earned — none of that rushed, episode-ten confession energy. You actually believe these two people are falling for each other.
Tian Xiwei plays Fan Changyu as this strong, no-nonsense woman who is also deeply human and warm. She’s not the typical delicate heroine waiting to be saved. She shows up, she fights, she loves hard. Her fighting scenes were incredibly executed — watching her hold her own on the battlefield with nothing but a butcher’s knife was something else. She might be my new favorite female lead in the genre.
The show is gorgeous visually too. The snow scenes especially — so pretty it almost doesn’t feel real.
My only complaint is that the second half loses a little of that cozy, intimate magic the first half had. Once they leave the small town setting it gets a bit all over the place. But the performances pulled me through every time.
Bottom line — watch it. You will not regret it.

Loved this one.
Really enjoyed this one. ZeeNuNew killed their performances. You can literally see how comfortable they are with each other and that reflects so well in the nc scenes and romantic parts. Loved both of their characters, their strengths, their weaknesses, and their faults. The storyline was pretty dang good. Loved the twists and danger. The archery forest scene was pretty exciting.
Not a fan of Ramil/Paytai. Such a toxic situation that really HURT at times. They felt so helpless. I'm kind of glad these two aren't partners anymore (I didn't realize that until halfway through the show, I'm new to BL) because something was off about their chemistry.
Calvin and Jay were cute but didn't get enough air time. Wish they would've been the second couple.

Las aventuras de Zhan Zhao

SHOCKED, MOVED, GAGGED!! 3XS
Watching Zhan Zhao Adventures made me realize how much some earlier dramas this year struggled with recycling overly familiar plots, overusing romantic tropes, and delivering performances that didn’t always feel convincing. When compared side by side, those weaknesses became even more obvious. This drama genuinely surprised me. It had the badass swordsmen, swordswomen, martial artists, and action sequences I expected, but what made it stand out was the humility and emotional restraint beneath all the excitement. The story didn’t rely on exaggerated romance or the usual “googly-eyed” love trope to keep viewers invested. Instead, it allowed the characters, writing, and atmosphere to carry the drama, and it worked.

Besties to Lovers
Yu Wan Yin and Xiahou Dan are so chaotic 😅 I have watched a lot of transmigration series and I loved this one because they didn't pretend like they weren't from the future. I like that they were both smart about their actions too.You will like alot of characters in this drama.
I got mixed up with Yu Wan Yin met Xiahou Po at the SOS flower garden. But I guess that was because the emperor and Xiahou Po looked exactly alike when he was a child.
Anyways LOVED Yu Wan Yin and Xiahou Dan their chemistry!
For the ending, I usually get disappointed because they dont do much other than meeting each other in real like and the end.

10/10 Where you get best of everything
I have watched many bl/romance drama till now but I was lucky enough to stumble upon this masterpiece. I don't want to just label this as a bl drama, I would rather go ahead and say it's a romance drama. This is a story of two teenagers and we all must have seen/experienced such a story before but what makes it so exceptional is the acting, direction, cinematography, background scores, characters... I can go on and on!Everything is polished here and sets a standard for entire entertainment industry out there. This is the first drama where I have re-watched episodes multiple times. I HAVE NEVER DONE this before for any drama except for Friends. If I start talking about the chemistry between the leads then I won't be able to finish this review. What I like the best here is the confusion/desire/attraction/love is all so innocent and real that it will make you cry and make you remember when you were 17.
If you are planning to watch this series then please go ahead because if you won't then you have missed watching a masterpiece.
The only best thing that happened in 2020 is "I told sunset about you"
