Hyeyoon's Acting is Superb, but the writing is bad and the chemistry is zero
Too many many people who said that they don't understand why this drama got so much hate. So I warn you, to all the new audiences and to all the "speak-no-evil" fans out there, make sure you are stoic enough to continue reading this comment to clear your confusion about the hate of this drama.I'll start with the writing. Yes the writing is THAT bad. It is. The storyline is kinda spinning around the FL's story and the ML's story individually (that's so boring and never attached to each other's background story) and ended up forcing the leads to suddenly fall in love with each other out of the blue, out of nowhere, even though the FL has done many bad things to the ML and to the ML's best friend.
The storyline depiction is too dragging that can't spark a heart-fluttering and deep chemistry between FL and ML at all, so their chemistry is ZERO. They are just like frenemies or partner-in-crime throughout the story, totally not like lovers but the writing kinda forced them to act like one. It's better if this story isn't forced to be a romcom but just a fantasy-comedy instead, where they also team up with the 8-tailed fox. That way, maybe the chemistry of the team would be greater.
Those who keep insisting that there is chemistry between the FL and ML or that Hyeyoon and Lomon have best chemistry whatsoever are those blind fans who only judge anything by looks and visuals. They don't give a single f*ck about anything deeper than just visuals, such as storyline and acting skills. No matter how mess the storyline and the acting skills are, they would turn a total blind eye of it and provocate the new audiences that these two's chemistry are the best and impressive. *sigh*
Well, the FL (Hyeyoon) did nothing wrong about it, her acting is superb as a selfish, annoying, and eccentric gumiho.
Blame it on the writing and also the ML's (Lomon's) lack of acting. Yes it is. Yes he is JUST good-looking but his acting can't keep up with Hyeyoon's acting (his expressions are only π whether he's happy, sad, or distraught). His characterization is a complete mess. That's a fact. How could he possibly fall in love with a woman who took his entire life one-sidedly? And when she can't return anything to the way it was bcs she has become a human, how come he could easily become infatuated to her out of the blue without (maybe for example) cursing her or taking revenge on her? She even sold one of his thing without telling him, wow, there are actually enough reasons to create a storyline where he can take revenge on her first, which can then be directed towards attraction because maybe the woman does something important for him (and also for his friend Hyun Wooseok) that makes him melt, instead of falling in love out of nowhere. In fact, the FL is depicted as a totally self-centered character that never does something so meaningful for him in the first place that could make him go crazy of her.
Well, I know this is just a fantasy romcom, but making the story too implausible is also very frustrating, given the fact that this is one of the highly-anticipated 2026 k-dramas. It's a pity.
I think anyone who could see a drama objectively without only seeing the actor's visuals will think the same thing.
I don't care of those who against my opinion by saying "Then make your own drama! If you don't like it, just don't watch it!" Well indeed, but that doesn't stop me to give a criticism to a drama that actually flopped and has a poor storyline, right? What the heck, are we only allowed to speak up when we feel that a drama is good, but when we feel that a drama doesn't meet our expectations, we are forced to remain silent, is that so? STFU to all the blind "speak no evil" fans out there.
And if you think they have best chemistry or whatsoever from your own POV that's opposite to mine, that's all up to you. TBH, I totally agree to a comment saying that people with this POV are among the most fans who are built "differently", where they rate looks instead of shows.
I also kinda laugh so hard seeing the Wikipedia page of No Tail To Tell has been revised, saying that this drama received very positive reviews and highlighted "the impressive chemistry". IMPRESSIVE CHEMISTRY??? Impressive zero chemistry maybe you mean? LMAO there comes the blind "speak no evil" pack who try their best to make the new audiences turn a blind eye to the actual mostly mixed-to-negative reviews (looks > shows for them). Same old story over and over again.
Wendy's "My Everything" (and also Hyeyoon) are the only two things that kinda kept me going til the end of the drama.
DISCLAIMER :
This is totally NOT the FL's fault. Once again, she is totally superb here and she has that natural beauty and acting skill that makes her suit almost every role, including this one. But just because she is that good as an actress and then SBS decides to win her with the ML a Best Couple Award for this drama, I think SBS should be sued. This actress is so good that a co-star like this ML is totally UNMATCHED with her, and her character feels like depicted as a woman who is able to stand alone on her feet and is not interesting in having a romantic partner, but the storyline seems to force her to fall in love with a man who also doesn't seem to love her that much (and indeed there should be NO reason whatsoever that could make the ML fall in love with her, judging from the overall storyline from the beginning till the end), so the chemistry is none.
Also kinda sick seeing the ML always try to touch the FL in their interviews and when they were off-screen (the BTS). Too obvious that the ML is sooo eager to win the "Best Couple Award" with the actress he may long has a crush on, but shame on you pretty boy, you're failed π But thank God the FL always tries to keep the distance between them. I won't describe what she actually felt 'cause those blind fans could attack me for being "Mr. Know-It-All" about the FL's feeling, but I honestly can feel how she felt about the ML's doing, judging from her body language. Body language totally can't lie, you know. Once again, no harm against her. I kinda feel sorry for the FL to take this drama as her comeback. She really deserves more.
PS :
Don't you dare attack me by forcing your idea or starting a mess or saying that I'm a hater of one of the individuals that act innocent and try to be a victim here, or I'll block and report your account.

Literally the best of the bestttt
Omg this drama was the best that I have ever watched, the chemistry in the jilu couple was also rlly good. Literally this drama has kept me interested the whole time I watched it and the story was really interesting that I was literally wishing the next ep comes out faster. Also ju jingyiβs acting was rlly good here and her visuals were really pretty too!! Iβm so sad that VOS only has 29 eps πHonestly the ending tho was like kinda bittersweet and everybody suddenly started randomly all reviving at the end which is kinda weird tbh but that doesnβt matter

This is what happens when a BL exceeds every expectation.
One of the best BL dramas Iβve watched in all six years of being a BL fan. And after watching over 100 BLs, that says a lot. This drama completely and utterly exceeded all of my expectations.I honestly never thought I would give a BL a 10/10 anytime soon, because after being in this community for so long, Iβve built very high standards and expectations. But Duang With You truly earned it.
From the very first episode to the very last, this drama was wonderful. The butterflies I felt, the giggles, the screaming in my room during episodes β Iβm sure everyone in my house thought I had completely lost it.
This was such beautifully written love story between Duang and Qin. Duang is truly the definition of a green flag β the ultimate golden retriever boyfriend. Meanwhile, Qin was more closed off, someone who didnβt easily open up to people he didnβt know or trust. And in the end, he let Duang into his heartβ¦ and Duang got in there deeply.
I loved every single moment of their relationship development. Watching it grow slowly throughout the episodes made everything feel even more rewarding. I especially loved seeing Qin completely fall under Duangβs charm.
Man⦠Duang was so good for Qin.
Their relationship felt healthy, genuine, and full of warmth, and I enjoyed every second they were on my screen.
Honestly, I feel like I could keep talking forever about how amazing this BL was.β€οΈ

Endearing slice of life
Beautiful story that showcased the life of ordinary people in the midst of economic's change in China. The sight of the bustling plant becoming less and less crowed was quite heartbreaking honestly. The whole drama is moving and very realistic, not overdramatic : just a story about people who try to live their lives in the best way possible.
The relationship between Xiaoman and Xiaodan is also realistic. The reason they grew apart is perfectly understandable and even if it's sad it can't be helped.
More than their romance, I was happy with Xiaoman's development in the later part of the story. I felt at some point he didn't have a goal for his life except catching up with Xiaodan which was very hard. However I'm happy he found a real purpose, maybe not flashy or a great ambition but a one that him truly happy.
His relationship with Chunchun is one of my fav part, it was introduced late but quite endearing to see her help him getting through his mental health issue.
The other older characters gave a heartwarming setting to the story. The way they helped each other, the way they shared the same love for the Plant, for their home : Mr. & Mrs Ding taking care of Xiaoman like their own son were my fav among them . Xiaodan's father, even if I didn't like him at first, also really shone at the end with his dedication to the plant.
The cinematography was breathtaking and OST's were perfect. The actors also did a great job (I really liked Johnny Huang performance π₯Ήπ©·).
Overall I strongly recommend this story if you want to take a break from overdramatic story and want to watch real people.

I really wanted to love this. I was fully ready to love it.
Iβm genuinely sad that Iβm rating it so low. This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year, and I went into it incredibly excited. This will be a very short review.
After the first episode I still had hope. After the second, I already knew it wouldnβt go above 5 stars. It follows a proven formula β one that clearly works, as the first two seasons showed. This show had everything it needed to be great, yet it still failed.
This sequel (or side story, whatever you want to call it) lacked everything that made the previous seasons special: the startling, disturbing, and original situations, the compelling characters, and the excellent pacing.
And this?
I honestly canβt even explain what the purpose of the series was, other than to pad Netflixβs catalog. Mission accomplished, I guess.
So many things made it an excruciating watch: the inconsistent pacing, the weak character relationships, the heavy-handed attempts to teach lessons, the moral dilemmas, the punishments, and the forced suspense. It tried to be both dramatic and shocking, but ended up feeling predictable and repetitive.
Thatβs exactly why I donβt want to think about this series or even write about it. Iβm choosing to pretend it was all a bad dream. Or a fever hallucination. Whatever helps me sleep at night.
P.S.
The Japanese remake starts on April 24th. I really hope I like that one.

just confusing and terrible
I absolutely adore Becky and her previous works, i have no complaints about her acting as Nanno, but it just didn't hit the same as before. The acting was great from everyone but the story just wasn't it.Each episode left me confused and bored. Half of the times i couldn't even understand why the characters deserved Nanno's punishment. For example the last episode.. The guy didn't even do anything wrong before Nanno came into the picture.
As for Sky, i really liked his character, but I feel like they could have done so much more with him. Really disappointed that they killed him off.
Overall this drama left me very confused and disappointed. I expected a lot more from it.

Netβs character really stands out to me. You can clearly see how lost he is, and the way he craves love feels so real and painful at the same time. It makes you understand him more, even when heβs struggling.
Latte and Kimβ¦ this part really hurts. Latte knows that Kim loves him, yet he keeps playing with Kimβs feelings. Itβs frustrating but also so emotional to watch. You can feel Kimβs heartbreak more and more, and it honestly made me so sad.
Also, this is my first time watching JJ, and Iβm really impressed. Heβs cute, funny, and naturalβbut at the same time, he delivers the emotional scenes so well.
Overall, Iβm really enjoying Love Upon a Time so far. The chemistry, the emotions, and the storyline are all so captivating. If you havenβt started it yet, you should definitely give it a try!

SO GOOD!
Two words. So good! Holy crap this drama was so fun to watch. I love everyoneβs acting here, especially noaβs. Everytime he appears on screen, I was so scared. The fact that he was able to make all my hair stand up everytime heβs being obsessive shows how good his acting is.The plot is nice too. Imo, they really donβt give me anything to hate. Though I do feel like the ending lacks something. The ending is great and nothingβs wrong with it, donβt get me wrong. But I donβt know. It just feels rather βsafeβ. Then again, a good happy ending makes it worth the ride, so it does not really matter. 10/10 for me!

Empowerment Without Logic
A fun, trope-heavy military romance with genuinely excellent combat choreography and a predictably strong female lead, but riddled with plot logic issues that constantly pull you out of the story. The biggest early suspension-of-disbelief hurdles are the βtiny woman successfully disguising herself as a manβ premise and her near-superhuman battlefield prowess. Another is the breakneck promotion speed: she goes from a newly enlisted recruit, initially suspected of being a spy, to commanding 20,000 troops in the defense of a major city while simultaneously leading an elite strike force on a high-risk mission away from the city, all in what feels like the blink of an eye.The romance leans on a familiar tsundere-style dynamic where the male lead gradually melts, but their relationship settles into quiet understanding and struggles to convincingly evolve into romantic love. There is a love triangle kept in play far beyond any reasonable expiration date, fueled by FLβs naΓ―vetΓ© and quirky, outgoing personality, which is apparently standard issue for a hardened general. Her prolonged, inexplicable trust and friendliness toward the love rival persist despite knowing he is an agent of the main antagonist with blood on his hands and despite his repeated romantic advances. This is marked by consistently tone-deaf behavior: getting clingy with him when drunk despite barely knowing him, inviting him out to admire the moon, decorating a gift from ML with the rivalβs tassel, and even re-gifting him another precious item from ML.
Rather than arising from believable character logic, these moments come across as plot devices for βcute jealousyβ beats and manufactured angst for ML, while being framed as friendliness. Even so, the tension begins to wear thin, as the romance itself isnβt substantial enough to justify it until much later. Instead of addressing the situation decisively, as any believable general and respectful partner would, FL treats it as a source of amusement or handwaves it entirely. She even states that the main couple βdonβt need clear linesβ or boundaries, right up until it stops being fun, ultimately weakening the emotional stakes of the romance. It is a bizarre feat of writing to portray a warrior who can cut down hundreds on a battlefield yet acts like a clueless schoolgirl in private, having the tactical genius to save an empire but lacking common sense to set a boundary with a treasonous rival.
The rivalβs βtragicβ motivation is particularly absurd: he harbors a self-righteous savior complex, convinced that generals are the root of the empireβs suffering (rather than scheming officials like himself), yet actively engineers FLβs rise as a powerful general. He genuinely believes that sabotaging and weakening his own countryβs army, while in conflict with a warlike foreign enemy, will somehow bring lasting peace. This makes his actions and motivation feel far more delusional than profound, and self-serving rather than principled. Despite it all, he gets promoted quickly riding on the coattails of the main coupleβs accomplishments. Aside from ML, accountability is largely absent, culminating in the rival receiving lenient treatment despite his role in schemes, treason, and mass deaths. As if a selectively remembered tragic past, obsession with FL, self-pity and good looks are enough to excuse his crimes. Plot armor thicker than the city walls he betrays, in a story with more holes than plot. Classic C-drama logic.

Goosebumps Every Time Kabuki is Played
The story is quite straightforward, with a constantly evolving plot. It depicts the main characters' sacrifices and efforts to achieve their dreams, while selfishness takes over.Yoshizawa Ryo and Ryusei Yokohama portray their characters masterfully. Each of their kabuki roles evokes a sense of pain and heaviness, befitting the kabuki theme they portray. The audience is drawn into and immersed in their roles.
The music in this film is sumptuous and dramatic, but it's a bit of a shame that many plot points could have been explained further, particularly regarding Akiko's fate, the fate of Shunsuke child, and so on. It's certainly not entirely plot sensitive, considering the film's length.

30ep of CUTENESS + 5ep interview specials!
IQIYI recommended this to me one day. I usually have low expectations for vertical series cause they tend to be bad (obv). But I was surprise by how cute and simple this is!First of all, I think they actors did such a good job for 3 days of filming! Gennosuke faces pull was pretty funny at times (very anime I might say). Koki fitted Shiro (Shirashi)'s cute puppy kouhai personality so well too! For a first time actor, he did well! :D
To be clear: the story doesn't have "intense" plot. When Ryo's secret was out to Shiro, there wasn't a "Oh No, some conflict might happened!" moment. Shiro just teased Ryo by reenacting some lines from Urai's movies, making him die in happiness from the inside LMAO
there is ONE thing I'm still confuse about: Is Shiro the actor Urai, or is he JUST a Look alike? It would make sense if he WASN'T the actor because he works a normal office job after all. I guess he never said "I am Urai" at any point, so that should be the confirmation there hahah
Overall, cute and funny story~! :D

Unbreakable & Loyal Love
The series is incredibly well-made! The lighting, colors, sound, music, and CG are all spectacular! I loved every single sceneβeverything is so fun, energetic, and full of power. The costumes are grand and absolutely beautiful. Iβm completely obsessed with it!!Duan Xu doesnβt just fight non-stop; he also showers He Simu with love to the fullest, pouring his entire heart and soul into everything. I surrender!!! This kind of loyal, steadfast, and unbreakable love is so touching. Even when the female lead disappeared for 5 years, he still waited for her. I adore Duan Xu so much!!! The chemistry between Dilraba and Chen Feiyu is super cute and really great too.
No characters are left behindβeverything is fully resolved. The last 5 episodes are intensely heart-wrenching. Thereβs also a special episode. Personally, I love both endings! If youβre into this kind of fantasy romance, I highly recommend it!!

Best romance sports drama
I love this so much, I think itβs important to note that although this is a romance drama, it has much better focus on the sports aspect than any other similar cdrama Iβve seen. I like this one a lot because both of the leads have good ambition, theyβre not just sitting around and waiting for romance, the romance comes naturally throughout their sports careers. This definitely has one of the best FL and ML imo.Was this review helpful to you?

Heavy story but clever. Solid Acting from MLs. Weak logic on subplots, though.
Love how the plot keeps twisting time and again. Just when I think Iβve figured it out, it flips to another direction. And these twists donβt rely on cheap tricks like hiding information that other characters already know. However, there's this part that feels off, which is Ji Hwaβs past marriage. It comes out of nowhere near the end and feels unlikely. Thereβs no real setup between them earlier, so itβs hard to believe they ever had feelings for each other.
Another relationship that doesnβt quite land for me is between Han Joo Won and his father. The story doesnβt build enough foundation for their conflict, so his hostility toward his dad feels confusing at times.
Overall, the story feels heavy, but clever, thoughtful and layered.
Note: The acting of the congresswoman is pretty annoying. She overacts and, as a result, looks fake.
