THE SUI BROTHERS STOLE THE SHOW

This show was something I had been waiting for for more than a year. I was so eager to watch it that I couldn't believe it was finally happening. I remember watching the first five episodes and thinking how good the show was. I really like how they portrayed Changyu; she was a breath of fresh air, a female lead that I liked a lot.
As the episodes were dropping, I got more and more hooked; I really liked the Lin'an Arc. During that period, the ML's scandal broke, and somehow it threw me off. I continued watching, but the feeling wasn't the same. All in all, it affects my viewing experience when I realize an actor is a nasty or classist person.
I really loved all the characters, especially Changyu and Changning. I thought both actresses were excellent in their portrayals, and I still believe that, despite the fact the character development didn't suit my taste.
As I said, the Lin'an Arc and the first episodes of the war (until she discovers the Marquis's real identity) were the best part of the whole series. I think those episodes showed the realness of Changyu. Later, when she miraculously kills Shi Yue, the whole story starts to fall apart. Why? It's Changyu’s first time on a battlefield, yet she is able to kill someone in two strikes who even generals couldn't defeat. And later, she manages to kill Lord Changxin, another important character, after just a few sparring sessions with her husband? Really? When she is appointed Flower General and enters the Court, I couldn't recognize the Fan Changyu from the beginning. Also, there is a part where she could lift huge baskets of rocks, but she couldn't save Qianqian and Qi Min at the same time? There is no consistency in the writing.
Also, I think the Marquis's character doesn't show the real power they want us to believe he has. Three times Sui Yuanqing flees from him; only when he battles with his uncle can we glimpse his power.
As I said in the title, the Sui brothers were the ones who made me stay. I hate the characters, but they were greatly performed by their actors. I never romanticized the relationship between Sui Qimin and Qianqian; that was pure abuse. Regardless, I didn't want Qimin to die, but based on how the characters were written, it was the most logical and satisfying end.

Deng Kai and Kong Xue Er need to do another series together where they end up together and he is not an asshole. That chemistry is wasted in this series with its forced love.

This series needed more than 40 episodes to develop Changyu's character believably and to better explain what happened 17 years ago.

Also, it doesn't make any sense at all: in the alternative ending, Changyu is Zheng's cousin. But she is the daughter of Wei Qilin, not Wei Yan. Wei Yan decided not to fall in love again after the consort died in the fire. While it’s good to see what the uncle-nephew relationship could have been in the alternative ending, Changyu wouldn't have been born at all since her father was Wei Qilin, not Wei Yan.
My comments from almost every episode:
Ep. 1: I already adore the FL.
Ep. 2: That law where only males can inherit property is disgusting. But hey, for the sake of the plot: marriage of convenience!
Ep. 3: Love you! She makes him pay respects to his own epitaph.
Ep. 4: I’m dying at the trial practice.
Ep. 5: I don't like the new girl; she’s way too classist.
Ep. 6: What scumbags, making up that lie about killing the uncle just to keep the house.
Ep. 7: Justice is a joke here, but the show is so good.
Ep. 10: I adore the sisters—the falcon moment and the part where he tries to get mad at her but just can't.
Ep. 11: Both side couples are so promising.. So sweet to see the falcon return and how happy the sister is.
Ep. 12: The second villain, Qi, is insane and we love it. Gosh, I’m in love with him in every scene. He’s super toxic and a total red flag, but I’m colorblind so I don't see anything.
Ep. 14: Manager Yu’s kid is just as smart as his mom, lying about his birthday.
Ep. 15: I bet it’s the psycho who’s doing that stuff to the restaurant.
I spoiled myself and know what happens to the psycho at the end :( we hate spoilers.
Ep. 16: Love you Fan Changyu, punching Wei Xuan. Wei Xuan won't reach the level of worship we have for the supreme psycho, but hey, we like him—and not because of what he does. Why are all the villains so charismatic and handsome? It’s hard not to root for them.
Ep. 17: That ending with the psycho WOW
Ep. 18: Super sad episode with the whole massacre. Fan Changyu, YOU ARE A QUEEN, the whole neighborhood is yours. That final scene with the Marquis, when he sees her there and looks like he's having a heart attack—YES.
Ep. 19: The beginning when he’s saving her—such a beautiful scene. We don't like the psycho anymore; what he’s doing is pure abuse. It’s a shame they wasted such chemistry making him a creep. Save the sister, please!
Ep. 20: We hate the psycho, there’s no redemption for him.
Ep. 21: "During this time, have you ever thought of me in the middle of the night?" "Yes, in my nightmares." "Better than nothing." We loathe him, but at least we know his backstory and how he fell for her.
Ep. 22: It's so messed up to destroy the dam and sacrifice people just to kill more enemies.
Ep. 23: Using AI for the flood scene looks ugly. He’s CRAZY, killing his nanny. The scene where he rescues Manager Yu was interesting because he knows she wants to kill him too. Fan Changyu, you’re wonderful; you gain a new fan every episode.
Ep. 24: The reunion between them and the sisters was gorgeous. Also, the moment with Changyu, the Princess, and the Marquis was hilarious. Plus the part where they clear out the shop for "privacy" while the advisor and everyone else are outside eavesdropping.
Ep. 25: Hilarious scene: the enemy downstairs, the Marquis in front, and Changyu on the other side beating up the heir. And the punishment scene makes total sense, otherwise, it would be chaos without someone giving orders. When they threaten to strip the heir and a rebel asks, "Is this the Marquis's strategy?" ABSOLUTE CINEMA.
Ep. 26: The beginning was so funny; I expected to see the hits and wow, so good. It’s a crime where they ended the episode.
Ep. 27: Such a beautiful ending.
Ep. 28: He is so in love with her. Poor Xie Wu has to deal with so much gossip and awkward moments. The psycho was the Crown Prince? I'm dead.
Ep. 29: Finally we know the psycho's story. Qi Min is realizing he's in love with her, but don't think Qianqian escapes the crazy guy that easily.
Ep. 30: We’re learning about the past and who the father was, it’s marvelous. I love the psycho's planning, and the "little villain" was right when he massacred the whole family. Though the cousin was dumb as a rock. Sad that Mandi died, he was a pro. We knew Lord Li was no good. I love that they’re giving more screen time to the Sui brothers; honestly, I’m not a big fan of the Marquis.
Ep. 31: Everything with the teachers and when she ignores the imperial decree is hilarious.
Ep. 32: Lord Li is a scumbag and we all knew it. So intense seeing Qi Min kill his adoptive mother and the whole past reveal. The Little Villain finally woke up and knows who the real enemy is. I'm falling more in love with Deng Kai every day; you can't be doing these roles! Since she found out he's the Marquis, the show has gone downhill a bit; they're rushing the remaining plot. If there were more than 40 episodes, it would be better. No doubt.
Ep. 33: Loved the post-credits scene. The Little Villain died and it made me so sad; however, the "Sui brothers" scene was 10/10—that ending for the Little Villain was magnificent. Lord Li is a traitor, or rather his grandfather was, and now he has to pay for his grandfather's deals. Finally, the Princess marries Gongsun; it took a while but I loved the proposal. OH THE KISS between Fan Changyu and the Marquis, THE KISS!
Ep. 34: The whole episode was about seeing how useless the Emperor is and the two factions: the opportunistic Li and the dominant Wei. Changyu was wonderful in the ministers' hall and in front of the King.
Ep. 35: Qianqian wakes up and the psycho says "finally you’re awake" (internally Qianqian is like: I'm awake, but at what cost?). The Li faction is, as the Marquis said, a bunch of opportunists.
Ep. 36: What an episode. All good scenes. I loved the drinking game between the psycho and Qianqian.
Ep. 37: Pretty funny that while offering the sword, he says it’s for killing dumb officials. What happened at the banquet was crazy. The Grand Tutor conspiring with the Emperor to frame the Marquis and Marchioness—they almost killed the Princess! And drugging the Marquis with an aphrodisiac, my god. Poor eunuch.
Ep. 38: The psycho doesn't get that you can't force love. It’s going to hurt seeing him die. The bathtub scene was nice, doing the yin-yang. Xie Wu and Mr. Jin's scene was super funny.
Ep. 39: Sad, the psycho is dead. It feels a bit weak that Prime Minister Wei gives up so easily.
Ep. 40: The psycho doesn't die from the fall but from Qianqian poisoning him? I'm shocked. Qianqian is a transmigrator and isn't going back to her world? The Emperor being a 7-year-old kid is funny to me. In this alternate ending, it makes no sense for Changyu to be born from her aunt. Besides promoting incest, she wouldn't even have been born, and the charm of Changyu is her origins—origins that got quite blurred since she went to war. Qianqian and Qi Min fulfill their promises; in the main story, Qianqian says she’ll poison his soup and that’s how Qi Min dies, and on his deathbed, he says that in an alternate world he wouldn't go near her—and it’s proven by the vomiting even though he’s happy to see her.

I’ve never been this obsessed

As someone who has watched over 150 bls of all kinds, Duang With You easily became my top 1. Mind you, this genre isn’t even my cup of tea, and characters like Duang usually irk me to the point I had to drop the show (that is usually the case when actors don’t embed their character well enough or simply bad writing). But TeeteePor have executed their roles so unbelievably well that I’m eagerly waiting every second just for the new ep to drop (DWY lives rent free in my head 24/7 it’s sickening). This is my first time ever to be able to finish a DMD show, the last ones didn’t do it for me and I always dropped them mid way. Either way, I’ll surely support TeeteePor’s future projects. Please go watch Duang With You if you haven’t. Peak frfr.

Congratulations, I Hate It Here

There’s absolutely no chemistry between the female lead and the male lead. They’re holding hands, kissing and still nothing. Their conversations feel boring, awkward and completely dull.
Meanwhile, the second lead is so much more interesting. Even his storyline and the way he met the female lead have more depth. The way they look at each other… they haven’t even kissed, yet you can feel everything.
He’s always been there for her when she truly needed someone. The male lead, on the other hand, feels like he just wants a wife and the female lead happens to be a convenient option.
At this point, the writers need to give the second lead some flaws 😭 Make him lie, cheat, be too aggressive, something. Give me a reason to move on. Redeem yourselves!
Because right now my heart hurts, and I just know that years from now I’ll still be thinking, why did she choose the male lead?

I’M CRYING. HE’S CRYING. WE’RE ALL CRYING. 😭

Of course it’s Khaotung — why is he always making me feel EVERYTHING?!

This series fits them so perfectly it actually hurts. The emotions, the chemistry, the way they just exist together on screen… I’m not okay.
At this point I should know better, because I have NEVER been disappointed with their projects. Not once. They always deliver, and yet I’m still not prepared for the emotional damage every single time.

I came here to watch… not to suffer like this 😭🤍✨

"Games between men are pathetic"

I don’t require a lot from martial arts films. Give me some good fights and a somewhat coherent story, maybe even one compelling character and I’m in. 100 Yards had maybe one out of those three criteria.

Shen An’s father is the head of a martial arts academy and dying. His best student comes home and his father has him dual his son for the academy. The academies are part of The Circle which helps to keep the peace. Once upon a time each academy was responsible for policing 100 yards around their school and gradually those territories grew. Now the student and the son butt heads over the future of The Circle and the city.

The fights were well shot without wires and without ridiculous undercranked or sped up shots. They were also sans CGI and extreme close-ups ---thank goodness. No one was thrown twenty feet into the air and bodies didn’t crush brick walls. The fight choreography was more realistic and Jacky Heung had nice moves. His acting, on the other hand, was painfully bad. He only had one facial expression in his bag of tricks which began to wear thin. Andy On’s Qi wasn’t much better. The never-ending fights began to feel pointless and in the end were pointless. The writing and directing went too heavy on the try and instead of cool came across as overly dramatic and cringey.

100 Yards is worth seeing if you are interested in a variety of fights with different weapons and styles. As long as you don’t expect any sort of compelling story or characters.

27 March 2026
Trigger warnings: there were a few slicey scenes but nothing egregious.

Note: The original Circle Chairperson was an actress they styled to look like a cross dressing Brigitte Lin. Hoping it was a respectful homage.

Did not disappoint! The itch I needed.

I was really looking forward to binging this once it was over, and it definitely did not disappoint. Such a good watch! It’s complicated, and honestly, I couldn’t see it ending any other way. Not all relationships are roses and flowers, and this show captured and delivered that so well.

The heart wants what it wants, unfortunately.

I was honestly so shocked discovering it was a GMMTV production… which, in hindsight, is silly because the artists are all GMMTV actors lol. It’s so good!

First K-Drama Watched

Ok, that's not entirely true. I did watch Squid Games, which it seems half the population of the USA has watched. However, one day (many months after watching the second season of Squid Games) I came upon "My Love From The Star" on Netflix. I decided to give it a shot and how glad I am that I did. I consider this my Gateway drama, as this was the show that opened the world of K-Drama to me and let me step inside. Since I have watched this show I have seen 4 others and have to admit that of those "Crash Landing on You" was my favorite, but only by the smallest of margins over this one. This show enchanted me with its blend of fantasy, humor and heart, and it's where my K-drama journey truly began. You will not be disappointed by this gem of a drama!

Full of scenes that I'll rewatch 100 times!

Let me just say one thing that I have not seen being mentioned anywhere else. There are a lot of great dramas, but there are very few that have as many amazing spectacularly crafted scenes and details unique to this show that will stay forever etched in my mind and that I'll be rewatching over and over in the coming years. In fact, the only drama that's comparable in this respect for me is The Story of YangXi palace.

I am looking back over watching this drama and what I am remembering is an absolutely amazing village story arc and a truly satisfying ending . The rest of the drama had its ups and downs but there was hardly any episode that did not contain at least one or two of those truly amazing scenes. In any case, I really recommend this drama.

Amazing!!!

Ok, so I am new to K-drama's as I am from America and was only introduced to these jewels about 4 months ago. Since than I have watched 5 different mini-series (that's what we call these kind of multiple episode show's in America) and can say I am blown away on how good these have been. I am writing my first review on my favorite of the 5, which of course is this little gem. The story was a sweeping, cross-border love story that blended heart pounding tension with a deep emotional payoff. This show was far more than just a romance/drama as it gives you a rollercoaster of cultures, loyalties, humor and suspense. It's a story that show's that love can transcend borders, both literally and figuratively. I know that's a little corny, but damn, that was one hell of a production. And the 2 leads were absolutely perfect for their roles as the chemistry between the two was evident from episode 1. The fact that they got married after the show just goes to show how strong that chemistry was not only on the screen, but in real life as well. I only wish I could watch it a second time without knowing any of the details.

The best divorce in kdrama history.

Let's start from the not so nice part.

Look, i loved that the story focused on the parallels between Han Yeong and Sin Jin, his revenge, his close friendship bonds more. It was obvious that's what the story really wanted to tell. But, was the half assed romance truly necessary?

Se Hui barely has any character to herself, and the series failed to make any difference to that in all 14 episodes. Han Yeong barely cares about her in that way, at best, he tries to see her as his friend. Any feelings felt too rushed from her side. Cause of that, every romantic moment felt awkward at best, and like a complete nightmare at worst. It would've been better if they tried to build steady friendship in the first season, but nope.

Aside from that...I don't really have any complaints. Any platonic bond Han Yeong had felt natural. That, and the tension he had with his rival. The friendship/teaming part and the absolutely amazing tension with Sin Jin is undoubtedly the best part of the show.

The intensity with which Sin Jin desperately wanted to see Han Yeong as his confidant bleeds through the cracks more and more as the show progresses, which is really juicy. One of the best rival dramas there is.

It didn't feel too rushed, at least to me. The first episode was kinda slow and mediocre, but sitting through it was worth it in the end.

The black, white, and gray, all sides of justice. And Han Yeong is more gray than he thinks. I hope it will be explored more, but, who knows?

(The adverts were awful as hell tho never do that again.)

The cinematic equivalent of a coma

The cinematic equivalent of a coma, the story behind Fearless Hyena II is more well-known than the film itself. A patchwork disaster that barely holds together, but how on earth Lo Wei managed to convince Jackie to do a nude scene is truly beyond me. Originally set to be Jackie's first film under a new contract with Wei, the story of how he avoided getting killed by the triads and returned to Hong Kong to become a megastar is the stuff of legends. Ultimately, Lo Wei supervised a reshoot of the uncompleted film, mainly by taking the footage from the 1980 shoot, incorporating some used and unused scenes from Chan's previous films, and hiring a double to bridge the gaps created by his former star's departure; Lo was able to assemble some form of sequel which, to his credit does manage to cover for it's lack of main star until the climax when Chan's absence becomes blatantly obvious. The premise is almost exactly the same as the original film, aside from the awful Jackie Chan lookalikes who play his "relatives" that never existed before, with the most outrageous wigs and fake beards you’ll ever see. The direction is laughable, carrying a definite Lo Wei vibe throughout, which ultimately makes the film feel more like a film from the 60s than one from the 80s, while Austin Wai's protagonist does the film no favours, although to be fair, there is at least some competently staged fights in places. Ultimately, Fearless Hyena II is nothing more than a simple novelty, only really worth the watch to see the smattering of scenes Chan shot prior to his departure, because the film has nothing else going for it… Game of Death was a better-made film than this.

Made for first and khoa

I am 100% convinced that this piece was written based on the personalities of first and khoa, when I originally read the summary I didn’t think I would like it because it is so different to what we’ve seen them do previously but in reality everything they do is perfect and this is no exception. This was funny, deeply moving, emotional, thoughtful and just such a beautiful piece. There is no area of improvement I would give this, It was perfect. It tells people story healing not just individually but with people it’s a beautiful journey and I loved it so much. It’s perfect.

Pursuit of Jade: A Sublime Journey

What a way to start 2026! Honestly, the quality of cdramas this year has been amazing so far, and Pursuit of Jade is no exception. I had been waiting for this one for so long because I was dying to see Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei as a couple. I definitely wasn’t disappointed—they are both such talented actors and their chemistry is just off the charts!

The whole cast is actually wonderful. From the "Lin’An folks" to the two kids, little Changning and Bao’Er... they were so cute that I’m already making a mental appointment to see them lead their own drama as a couple in 15 years!

And can we talk about the villains? Yan Yi Kuan, Den Kai, and Lin Mu Ran have such an incredible aura. In the final episodes, Wei Yan (Yan Yi Kuan) has this magnetic presence that makes it impossible to look away whenever he's on screen.

The production itself is amazing. The OST is so beautiful and it really makes you feel every single emotion (best OST this year so far). Plus, the cinematography is stunning—whether it’s the epic battle scenes or the romantic moments (oh la la, that love-making scene in the water was so sensual!).

And finally, the ending was so satisfying! For once, a director actually gave the finale the importance it deserves. It didn't feel rushed or messy; it was the proper ending this drama deserved.

If I have one regret, it’s only that I wish the middle of the show were longer. Some parts felt a bit fast and I think the story deserved a few more episodes to really breathe. But overall, I truly loved this drama and I’m going to miss it so much!

Secretly scheming romance and revenge

My favourite aspect of this short revenge drama is how you’re pulled into the show through FL character’s internal narrative. You share the secret with her while she carries out her scheming against unknowing allies and adversaries. Jadie’s performance reminds me of Yang Mei Mei. She plays an innocent seductress while still showing her deceptive essence. ML Chen Si is impressive delivering an imposing, dark and powerful aura with sizzle galore. The height difference between the two leads, wow, thank you to casting! Soundtrack is great, many popular tunes giving instant recognition and adding to scene moods. High rewatch value this is a very enjoyable story, quality acting and production.
