My virgin vertical drama ?

I've avoided vertical drama like a plague but gave this a try - given the interesting synopsis and girl, I love it!

It has everything - comedy, NC, lovey dovey scene. Right element of it all. Now, don't go in expecting some fancy plot or anything- if any, it's pretty ridiculous, but its an enjoyable watch.

I love the couple a lot, I especially love it when Charles sewed "JY" name on his racing suit. Little details that add so much sweetness and depth!

A mini series which didn't feel like one

Usually mini series have their own standards they're not as good as the long series this one was 2 hours long in total but i feel that it was just the right amount of everything. I don't want anything more or less.

I really liked both Eddy and Ian❤️ the playful pushpull romance and the way everyone in the office would shut the ceo🤭🤭 it was cute. One unique thing i observed was ian choosing love over carrier which we usually see in dramas. He chose what made him happy instead of success and how that lead him to another path. I like that they showed that instead of just leaving him unemployed or in the same work he was they showed sometimes its fine to pick ur happiness over money

Could've been a great one - declined/faded towards the end

Just like many who can't help expressing their thoughts prior to its completion, here I am joining the league. I can't literally point out anything about this drama to criticize with at this point. On the contrary, so many things to commend otherwise. It really surprised me that another barbaric historical war story like this didn't get me bored at all. Let me go over each aspect briefly.

‎Story - It has a strong foundation of well-developed characters, a cohesive plot, and skilled execution. I find the humor element organic. The funny moments emerge naturally from the characters' dialogue, unexpected reactions, or subtle clever wordplay without even trying to be funny. And it's like a liberating laugh when you are watching a drama like this with grave battle killings.

‎Cast/Acting - Both Zhang Ling He & Tian Xi Wei are known already for showing superior quality portrayal but the rest of the supporting cast equate that same merit. In matters of chemistry, those secondary couples have it better than expected too, like the main couple which I feel like they are "meant to be". The way their simple interactions evoke a strong emotional or physical reaction - heart fluttering effect to me while watching results in my frequent skip backing of such specific scenes. I could consider this project to be the best so far for Tian Xi Wei & Zhang Ling He's acting career.

‎Music - From its OST, my two favorites are "Careful with Fate" and "A Single Thought". Though I'm not so appreciative of the other songs, all of it still matches the kind of melodic backdrop crucial for longing, sacrifice, and action pack romance drama like this.

‎Rewatch Value - Having a satisfied attachment for this drama the first time, certainly a repeated viewing is on my side of the plan. I don't think the story could have a poor ending that might kill my desire to go through it again, hope not.

‎* * * Additional remarks after completing the series

The narrative falters in the later acts. The writer's approach to simplify everything as it concludes tainted the potent of the story. Nonetheless, my love for this drama remains.

Such a waste.

Okay this is another Wang Nan drama i couldn't watch because of Female lead, i couldn't watch Zhu Xiao Xue stiff acting. and same expression. Wang Nan acting as dual role was really good to watch: the cunning twin brother Ji Yu and the upright and charismatic younger brother Ji Muye. The plot was quite generic though. I thought the twin setting would create some interesting chemistry, but then the older brother just disappeared while the story was unfolding. FL was supposed to be interesting person since she initiated the revenge plan to control the twin but all i see just her same expression and monotone speaking. I cannot finished it because of her acting. Dropped.

i just felt bad for the fl

I am writing this more than 11+ years after this came out, but I still want you to know I watched it with an open mind. I haven't watched the other version, nor am I interested. I think I watched the Korean version, but dropped it because of the male lead. tbh, the male lead in this version is better than the Korean one, but still has no personality or anything that makes him likeable.
I think this is based on a manga from the 19's or 2000's, right? So maybe this kind of male lead was in style? idk.
To me, it still feels like the main male lead was emotionless while the female was overflowing with emotions. She is cute tho.
the plot is nothin new, a girl fallings head over heels for a guy, chases him (which is every toxic, and she doesn't respects his space), the boy kisses her (still they are not dating) twice, the boy is dumb, they play around for i think 4-5 years (push and pull), boy decides to marry someone else (had a valid reason i feel), but ditches her last min and marries the female lead.
the end.
The opening and ending songs are cute and sweet.
tbh at first, the female lead was a teenager, so I didn't blame her or the male lead, but I feel like she should have had a personality change made or a maturity change???? i really don't know how to put it into words.
Okay, so in the end, I felt bad for the female lead watching her crush marry someone else must have hurt, but why are you still going after him?
I felt bad for Rin Kun and the male lead fiancée

pretty but ordinary

this was one of the korean movies I was excited to watch. but midway through, I actually thought, “wow, this is boring.” I really like the leads but the story is kinda unrealistic and the characters not very interesting. everything was pretty to watch but it didn’t really touch me at all. I really like Shin Shi Ah, but I feel like they didnt give her any back story, no interactions with her family or her best friend. And for the male lead, we barely know anything about him. I dont think it’s possible for someone to have this problem and go to school like normal.

Why I Gave This Insanity 9/10

I laughed, I cried, I raged, I scoffed. Look, was this bat shit crazy and at times completely nonsensical?? Absolutley. But it was also compulsively watchable and wholly engaging. One minute you’re screaming “that makes no sense” and the next you’re theorizing on the craziness. This drama never met a trope or genre it didn’t like. Western. Scifi. Action. Fantasty. Drama. Romance. Buddy Cop. Found family. Forced proximity. Fated Mates. Enemies to lovers. Love Triangle. The Quest. Antihero. Damsel in distress (who is a badass in her own right. I said “she is sooo cool!!” outloud multiple times). Enemies join forces. Literally something for everyone. The plot twists would twist and I wouid scream “of course!!” I should’ve seen it all coming, but I didn’t. Because this drama will keep you on your toes. Throw your moral compass and commonsense out the window and just watch it.

Not my cup of tea... for now.

The drama was not for me because it dragged on and fell short of what should have been explored more deeply. The misunderstanding between the main couple and its unraveling in their relationship was slow, but the resolution was incredibly quick, based on spoilers I’ve seen.

The FL is lied to and mistreated because of her assistant. And the misunderstandings around her, in Seoul, continue for basically the whole show. However, the resolution of the situation is so quick, from what I’ve seen, jumping ahead in the drama. We don’t get to see the assistant face the consequences of her actions, and we don't get to see the redemption of our FL professionally.

I could tell that the drama was going to be good when it came to the unpacking of the emotional scars that the main cast faces. However, I could also tell that the story would close out in an unsatisfying way. for me personally.

Will I try and rewatch? Maybe. I picked this drama up after being in a slump with K-dramas, which could explain my impatience with the story and how it progressed.

So basically, take this review with a grain of salt. lol.

The story is at its peak of the genre

I love how every characters was delivered. The intensity between ML and also with each of their supporter roles is on spot, I don't think there's something like too early or too delayed. The casting was great. Although, I don't really like the song it's still sound match with the genre, more over for the lyrics.
And I have to mention about the poster, I deeply fell in love with it from the first time I saw it.
It's almost been a year, still wish that I could watch it for the first time again.

Heart felt

Really good . Really good actress.

This C-drama is a visual masterpiece with stunning cinematography and intricate costumes. The chemistry between the leads is electric, making the slow-burn romance incredibly rewarding. While the middle episodes drag slightly, the political intrigue and emotional payoff make it a must-watch!"

it is so important to listen when someday, someone would recommend you to watch this masterpiece

to start off, idk if this is allowed but I'll appreciate a little consideration hehe. so I'm already in the final ep(I'm crying), i just couldn't fathom or what would I do if I actually finished watching this gem😭 i don't know what emotion should I feel by the fact that I'm so late watching this show, and I got so attached that i literally would be so willing to erase my memory by watching this for the first time.

I honestly don't know how to start writing a review for this absolute cinema— like after watching that whole 50 azz of episodes, i can't seem to find the right words or emotions to convey my love for this show my mental health would be so pissed off (that is literally deteriorating) that i dared to watch this gae cinema and allat that drama i want to experience it for the first time OVER and OVER AGAIN.

MYGOSHHH after watching a lot of queer/bl dramas, I've never ever seen a character like lan wangji to embody the word 'yearning' TEN TIMES FOLD his longing eyes says it all even without having any physical/intimate contact with wei wuxian FML. I also love how the plot unfolds with most especially between eps 46 until the end of it all... again,I don't know how can i recover after i finish the final episode🫩

Man, in all honesty at this rate I would love to just stuff myself in a luggage at any passenger who has a flight going to China like I just want to feel every places wei ying and lan zhan went to with lil apple and of course their baby bunnies HUHUHU. my fave place among the 4 clans where they resides would be at the clan of Lan in Gusu AHHHH at cloud recesses where it all started, where my parents met, where they first heard each other's voices, where they pictured each other's faces where it is impossible to eradicate in their memory or should I say *pointing at LZ, like WHAT DO U MEAN that this man recognized his other half (even after a decade of not seeing his beloved) just by Wei ying's mere sound of breathing and the way his feet touched the very soil of Earth???!!! Absolutely DIABOLICAL.

OMG I could write more extremely exaggerated review of this show,,, though that "exagg" part I'm babbling about isn't what it actually what you thought of, it's my way of showing how BEAUTIFULLY crafted, actualized, characterized this whole drama was, it tackles almost every issues, bond, ties in a certain part of our lives PLSS tell me that u get itt LOL. then again, i hope you find a time to watch this masterpiece (masterpiece is an understatement) also, fck censorship hehe.

I hope I could get back on this review and add more into it after I finished ep50 after i submit this one.. brooo I'm so closeee... from bawling my eyes out and ripping my clothes bcos i hate that I actually watched the whole thing in just a span of 1 week. I guess bye for now, good luck to anyone who's planning to watch this gut wrenchingly art piece:)))

the ending??

The show was honestly great for most of its run, with strong characters and emotional moments that really pulled me in. But the ending completely ruined the experience for me. Some of the deaths felt pointless, especially the one with the ponytail, which made no sense and added nothing to the story. The finale also felt rushed and unfinished, like the writers just gave up. Overall, it was a good show, but the ending was extremely disappointing. like what do you mean after 3 months its like nothing happened

Why "Boyfriend On Demand" is a 2026 Masterpiece

If you are looking for the ultimate romantic escape, look no further than "Boyfriend On Demand." This series isn't just a drama; it's a cultural phenomenon that has rightfully claimed the #1 spot on Netflix global charts.

At the heart of this success is JISOO, who delivers a career-defining performance as Mi-rae. Shaking off her global idol persona, she embodies a witty, relatable, and deeply emotional character with stunning maturity. Whether she is navigating hilarious "contract dating" mishaps or delivering a heart-wrenching breakup scene, JISOO proves she is a formidable actress with incredible range.

The show’s "subscription dating" premise is genius, allowing JISOO to showcase different facets of her charm alongside an elite roster of leading men. Her innocent, nostalgic chemistry with Seo Kang-joon will make your heart flutter, while her intense, sophisticated tension with Seo In-guk is absolutely magnetic.

With its high-fashion aesthetic, dreamlike cinematography, and a soundtrack that stays stuck in your head, the production quality is top-tier. "Boyfriend On Demand" is the perfect blend of humor, visual perfection, and genuine emotion. Don't miss out on the show everyone is talking about in 2026—JISOO is truly in her prime!

FourEver Bad!

Honestly, is it not time for a revolt against BL series wasting time on drivel? This is one of the most mindless, childish, dumb, cliché-driven, and trope-filled stories I have ever seen. In addition to being one of the more rancidly acted series, mainly because it exposed an incapacity to display the protagonists (as well as other major characters) adroit at growing, thriving, maturing, or even becoming an adult let alone being able to face any type of trauma or drama without completely falling apart or reverting to child-like behaviors. Most acted emotionally as if they were somewhere between 5-to-15-year-olds in bodies that are supposed to be young men. And do not get me started on how infantile, pre-pubescent and frankly non-existent they treated the whole concept of gay relationships.
