funny but there were MANY plotholes

overall i really enjoyed this show!
it was funny and entertaining but there were SOOO many plotholes.
some examples: chae-ni can only teleport when her heart is beating rapidly but there are multiple moments where she teleports randomly, kyung-hoon only sticks when he lies but there were moments where he hadn't lied and would stick, kyung-hoon can only stick to objects himself so how did he get all those people to stick to that inflatable turnip, how did that inflatable turnip fit in that jail cell + why didn't the police get rid of the turnip before locking the prisoners in the cell, how did chae-ni not get blown into a million pieces by that airship, how did chae-ni come back from "the desert" in 3 weeks with no money/passport/food/water/anything, how is woon-jung's mother alive when it was clearly stated that she was dead + how did he find her?.. the list goes on
anyways, it was fun! chae-ni and woon-jung r such a cute couple iajgiejaig <33

The lives of entertainment agency staff and stars in Korea

This show has a lot of potential for future seasons. The main characters were interesting, smart, flawed. The secondary characters were quirky and lovable. Sure there were some storylines that did not get fleshed out enough and their were cliffhangers but overall this is a very enjoyable, non-serious watch. Steve Noh was the standout. I looked forward to all his scenes with Kwak Sun Young (who is such a fun actress to watch).

Behind Every Star is a hidden gem for casual viewing.

I’m ready to expand my cooking skills !! ?

Honestly, a lot of kdramas I’ve watched end with me feeling neutral, but this - I literally stood up happy, clapping, and am satisfied with this ending!
The closing was great compared to previous shows I’ve watched.
The ML, 10/10. Between his acting and reactions, he is doing so well for himself early in his career. Would love to see him in another drama as the ML.
I’m also on cloud 9 right now because I just finished watching My Royal Nemesis right before I started this show.
I AM SATISFIED.

If Only They Became Friends

I fell in love with the cinematography from the very first episode. The drama was beautifully made. Maybe because I’ve watched so many detective dramas before, I guessed the culprit by the second episode. The following episodes were just me being gaslit into thinking I was wrong while stressing over how the story unfolded.

There were parts where it lost my interest. I think fewer episodes would have made the drama even stronger.

My doomed bromance. My doomed lovers. I will forever cry about them.

This story is a sad reflection of reality, where the people who are supposed to protect used the power given to them to protect their selves.

I think the ending was quite realistic. Some injustices are simply brought to light, not served with justice.

“I will make your youth twinkle just like your wish“ Ha Eun Gyeol

STORY was beautiful! I really like how everyone and everything was all connected in a way. Everyone’s connection was so unique, funny and pleasant to watch! The whole time its like a mystery, you are like part of the journey trying to figure it out together while having the laughs too. Yi chan was such a funny and interesting character, love the bromance. Love how the main leads learn a “life lesson”/see a diff perspective on their parents and grow as a person (extra points to character development for all the main leads). I like how everything turned out from start to finish! Some moments do get slow but the curiosity and humour makes u enjoy the boat.

ACTING everyone was so good but gotta give the credit to In A and EunSoo they slayed their roles, especially Eunsoo she shows all the emotions without even talking I respect that.

MUSIC personally was just average on first listen but more you listen and see the story behind it, you start liking it more.

REWATCH VALUE I mean I binged it in 2 days so I def think I will be rewatching it and prob in one go too.

OVERALL It was giving back to the future x lovely runner collab with the best parts. Such a good binge watch on your day offs. Refreshing watch if you have been watching too much intense dramas (like weak hero). If you want a cute high school romance/friendship but a fun twist and a deeper story then choose this!

This is one of the Thai BLs that mysteriously have stayed under the radar. It's unique in its premise, the actors do a very good job, the writing is solid, and it's all around a production I can recommend, even if the whole is not exceptionally outstanding.

The drama tells us five different stories, that are nevertheless connected -- how exactly they are connected, is hinted at in episode two and four, and revealed in episode six. And while the reveal and the last story are fine, I love that each of the previous stories can also be watched as standalones: Fine love stories, tightly written, without filler but nevertheless giving us all the emotional connection we need -- which only proves my view that most Thai BLs are needlessy long.

The two main actors, who take on the main roles in every story, show their acting versatility: The characters are very different each story, not only in style but also in mannerisms, and if I hadn't known they are the same actors, I would have had difficulties recognizing them. Both are supported by a capable cast -- I was very happy to see Fiat Patchata again in this production.

I'll keep this review short, because anything more would be a spoiler. Just maybe this: While it's true that every meeting has a parting, it's also true that it's not over until it's over.

My thoughts so far (Ep. 12):

Okay First of all, the start was actually so good. I love fantasy dramas, and I loved all the fantasy elements they introduced. The world-building had me hooked from the first episode. SWL was so insanely powerful too... I was like yeah..😭

But then after he met her... idk, it just feels like he became a completely different person.

LXY(his character ) is actually testing my patience SO bad. Like why are you still begging and chasing someone just because of some old memories?? and when the hell you fell in love with her?? I get y'all have history, but that's not enough for me to understand why he's making these choices. At this point I'm more annoyed than sad for him. also remember his brother is dead(he killed him) still all he know is to asking for forgiveness?

And JLF(her character) girl, I'm so confused idk why her character is acting like that. Maybe I'm missing something that'll get explained later, but his brother literally just died and she barely seems affected?? I expected way more emotion. It's making it really hard for me to connect with her character. She's just annoying fr

One thing that ALWAYS annoys me in dramas is when a character has the power to change their situation but instead chooses to suffer because they're in love with someone who barely gives them the time of day. Like STAND UP PLEASE. 😭 That's exactly what's happening here and it's driving me insane.

After everything that happened with his brother, I genuinely thought LXY would be focused on grieving, getting revenge, or at least finding out the truth. But nope... he's still running after her. WHY?? 😭 And she's over here acting all cute like nothing even happened, which is making me even more frustrated.

I'm really hoping the later episodes change my mind because this drama genuinely has so much potential. The fantasy setup is interesting, and both leads are really good actors, so I know they can pull it off. I just hope the writing starts doing them justice.

But as of Ep. 12... these characters are stressing me out way more than they're making me emotional.

Sisters united will never be defeated!

If I'm honest, this series feels same-y after a couple of eps. Our leads face challenges, but there is a disconnect as their world is quite different from our mundane reality. It is just as well the playing field is a lot more level than expected. This is largely due to a strong cast and a good script.

Is this show perfect? No, there are issues. When it is good, it is very good though.

Several factors are at play here. First and fore most, the relationship of our female leads are complicated. Most shows would either forge an unbreakable bond between strangers brought together under extreme circumstances or they are sworn sisters with long and storied history. Our writers forgot to read the memo. ;)

The 1FL (screenwriter) and 2FL (society wife) met in college and became firm friends. They fell out several years later and only reconnected recently. When we met them, they are guarded around each other and are more like frenemies than BFF's.

The 3FL (actress) is a late addition. The 2FL befriended her because her husband is hitting on her. As the saying goes, keep your friends close and your enemies closer . . ;) However, true friendship evolved over time once the initial misunderstanding is cleared up.

As sisters by different mothers, they show their true colours when trouble comes knocking. I can never forget the scene when the 2FL rushed to comfort the 1FL the same day she suffered a devastating personal tragedy. That's good storytelling.

Secondly, the 1FL likes to break the 4th wall by addressing us directly. It is delivered quite naturally and is well integrated into the narrative. Thankfully, the writers don't abuse this.

Finally, most of the male leads are flawed (surprise!). The 2ML, in particular, is a piece of work. He can't stop chasing skirts and yet he roleplays the good father/husband with consummate skill. Consider they married for love, his son is cute as a button and his wife is beautiful and in her prime while being an asset to his business, his actions left me cold.

On the other hand, the 1ML is nowhere near as bad. He has commitment phobia and he is called "Mr. Red Flag" by female acquaintances as he moves from one casual fling to another even as he approaches four decades of existence.

The only exception is 1ML-2 (I won't call him 3ML as that implies he is tied to the 3FL. He arrived on the scene after the 1FL broke up with the original 1ML.) He is a handsome and righteous young man. He is 9 years younger than our 1FL though. She wasn't looking for a noona romance and pushed back quite hard. He is not a happy camper.

My biggest issue with this drama is probably the tropey themes on display. We have quite a collection. Infidelity, commitment issues, abuse of power, predatory behaviours and the list goes on. I know they are drama staples. I can't shake the feeling of deja vu.

Let's move onto some positives. Our FL's have depth. The 1FL is a screenwriter which gives her insights into human natures. She also knows how to lay a cunning trap when one is called for. Talking about occupational hazard!

The 2FL is pigeon holed into a supportive wife/mother role, but she is no fool. Michelle Chen backs it up with some fine performance. There are scenes that will resonate with many.

The 3FL is probably the weaker link. While she is mentally strong, she has to play a meek girl while she is looking for a toe hold. The underbelly of the entertainment industry is coal black. Unfortunately, her experience is more illustrative than illuminating.

Thankfully, our FL's are not defenceless wall flowers. When they are backed into a corner, the claws do come out and they are sharp and possibly dipped in poison.

I also appreciate the honest and often cutting dialogue. Our ensemble of experienced actors delivered them with panache.

In the end, this series surprised me. What I assumed to be a straight forward female centric drama turns out to be a lot more "entertaining".

The bonds between our FL's are intricate and defies simple labels. The male leads' antics spiced up the story. Their sisterhood are often tested. It will bend, but it will not break. When the chips are down, you know who you'd call. ;)

Just my casual review

Everyone really breaks down their opinions on this very well, especially the negative critics. This was so cliché that I honestly feel like I have already seen a version of this in another drama. There was some cuteness to this. Casting was pretty spot on. And the hotel was acceptable. But really there was no story, no character development, and the love scenes were cringy, as everyone has mentioned and predictable. I will probably finish this series as background viewing as I catch up on social media, LoL. Sadly, I hardly rate anything this low, unless I completely hated it. If there are A dramas, B dramas, and C dramas, this project would get a C- or in other words, barely passing grade, in my opinion.

The Visuals. The Chemistry. Everything.

Ever since this drama was first announced, I was so excited for it. First, because the premise immediately caught my attention, and second because THE VISUALS??? Absolutely insane. Seeing IU and Byeon Woo Seok together in one drama genuinely felt like a dream come true. (/ω\) They looked absolutely breathtaking together.

One thing that genuinely upset me while this drama was airing was seeing all the unnecessary criticism it received, especially toward the cast. My poor Woo Seok was once again the target of so many harsh comments, and I truly don't get it. If anything, this drama only reminded me why he deserves every bit of success he's been getting lately. He keeps proving that he's much more than just a pretty face (although... yes, he is ridiculously handsome). His emotional scenes felt sincere, his comedic timing was great, and he completely sold me on his character. And IU... well, she's IU. She somehow manages to make every role feel effortless while still making me cry five minutes later. You can really tell how much love, dedication, and effort the entire cast and production team poured into this project, and I think it shows in every single episode.

Now let's talk about the chemistry because... WOW. IU and Woo Seok absolutely understood the assignment. Their interactions felt so natural that it was impossible not to root for them. Whether they were making me laugh, making my heart melt, or emotionally destroying me, I believed every second of their relationship. Their chemistry wasn't just romantic—it made every conversation, every glance, and every emotional moment feel meaningful.

The story itself kept me invested from beginning to end. I loved the balance between romance, comedy, emotional moments, and the more serious parts of the plot. The villains were actually interesting instead of being evil just for the sake of it, the supporting cast was lovable, and I became way more emotionally attached than I originally expected. Every episode left me wanting the next one immediately.

Now a tiny (or not) spoiler: And I HAVE to give an honorary mention to that kiss in episode 10 because... OH. MY. GOD. (//ω//) I don't think I'll ever recover from that scene. I genuinely wasn't prepared. I never thought I'd see my precious IU filming a kiss scene like that, but wow... they absolutely went for it. The chemistry was chemistry-ing, my jaw was on the floor, and let's just say I replayed that scene more than once. (,,>﹏<,,)

Now, you might be wondering why I didn't give it a perfect 10. Honestly, it's because there were one or two small things that didn't completely work for me. They weren't major issues by any means, but they were enough to keep it from being flawless in my eyes. Even so, they barely affected my overall enjoyment because I loved this drama from beginning to end.

Overall, Perfect Crown gave me everything I was hoping for and even more. It has romance that makes your heart flutter, beautiful cinematography, memorable characters, and a leading couple whose chemistry deserves all the praise. It's one of those dramas that reminds me why I love watching K-dramas in the first place, and I already know it's one I'll happily rewatch years from now. No matter what some people say, it definitely earned a spot among my favorites. (੭˃ᴗ˂)੭

★★★★☆

I really enjoyed this drama. The story immediately caught my attention and kept me invested until the very end. As a psychological mystery thriller, it does an excellent job of creating a constant sense of unease. Every character makes questionable decisions, but that’s exactly the point. No one is completely innocent, and that moral ambiguity is what makes the story so intriguing.

The acting was excellent across the board. Choi Hyun-wook was a real discovery for me. I wasn’t familiar with his work before watching this drama, but his performance completely impressed me. He portrayed such a complex and layered character with confidence and subtlety, making Lee Kang both fascinating and unsettling. I’ll definitely be checking out both his previous works and his future projects after this.

The writing also deserves praise. While a few plot twists were somewhat predictable, most of them genuinely surprised me. I don’t think a handful of predictable moments should take away from the overall quality of the story. The psychological tension, the mystery, and the way everything gradually unfolds kept me engaged throughout.

The OST was another highlight. It wasn’t just background music—it elevated several scenes and made the emotional and psychological tension even more powerful.

My only criticism concerns Lee Kang’s motivation. I understand why it fits the overall narrative, and it is consistent with the character and the themes of the story. However, I personally expected something stronger. Compared to how carefully everything else was developed, his motivation felt a little underwhelming and didn’t have the same impact I was hoping for.

Overall, this is a well-written psychological mystery thriller with excellent performances, compelling characters, and an atmosphere that constantly keeps you questioning everyone’s intentions. If you enjoy stories that focus more on psychological tension and mystery than on action, I definitely recommend giving this drama a chance.

AMIGOS, AMANTES E RIVAIS

Everything Just Works

I genuinely believe this is one of the best fantasy K-dramas out there. Despite having a large cast of side characters, I never once felt confused about who was who or why they mattered. Every character had a purpose, and they all complemented each other so well that the story never felt cluttered.

One of my favorite aspects of the drama was the comedy. It landed every single time. Whether it was the bickering between the characters, the unexpected situations, or even something as ridiculous as Zombie living inside a refrigerator, everything somehow worked. The humor never felt forced and blended perfectly with the more emotional and serious moments.

The storytelling was another highlight. Every episode kept me invested, and I never felt like the drama was dragging or wasting time. Even with multiple storylines happening at once, everything was presented clearly, making it easy to follow while keeping me excited for what would happen next.

I also appreciated how well the characters bounced off one another. Even with such a large ensemble cast, everyone felt interconnected, and every interaction added something meaningful to the story. The drama did a great job of making each character memorable without taking attention away from the main plot.

I also have to give credit to the fantasy elements. The drama established its own rules and stayed consistent with them, which made the world feel believable despite its supernatural premise. I never found myself questioning the logic because everything fit naturally within the story.

As for the ending, I know some people consider it open-ended, but I never saw it that way. The relationship between the FL and ML had already been established so well throughout the drama that I never doubted what would happen after the final scene. To me, it was clear that he would continue searching for her no matter what, which made the ending feel hopeful rather than incomplete.

Overall, this drama had everything I look for in a fantasy series: memorable characters, incredible chemistry, hilarious comedy, emotional moments, and a well-crafted story. It remains one of my all-time favorites because, quite simply, everything just works.

Meh

China is making a lot of bls lately too bad I already moved on from watching bls, I prefer reading manhwas. I find bl dramas too boring too fluffy for my liking.
This one seems ok just not my cup of tea I guess. I found it hard to root for the main pair.
One thing that annoys is every mc somehow has to be poor and struggling wth 🤦 why can’t we ever have an mc that filthy rich and doesn’t need to be a charity case for the ml?
Also who the hell works their ass off to afford to pay for expensive acting classes for their younger sister? 😂 I’m sorry you can call me mean but I couldn’t feel sorry for the mc. All that hard work at the dork just to pay for acting classes 😅
I wish it was toxic at least maybe then I could continue hate watching it
